My Precious Poms paid big bucks for big dog

I had been looking for a tiny pomeranian for close to a year on the internet. I had narrowed my selection to 3 different web sites, one of them being Mypreciouspoms. I inquired about a few pups and finally emailed Cheryl telling her I was looking for a female, 2 to 3 pounds, any color.

She emailed me back stating she had a very tiny black female coming available the following week. The ad read "This adorable female is ready for her for ever home. She is also extremely tiny. She will be lucky to reach 2.5 pounds grown". The asking price was 1500 dollars plus shipping.

This pup was what I was looking for. I called Cheryl and made arrangements to purchase this pup. She stated the pup was one of the smallest she had ever seen. I was quite excited about finally finding an extremely tiny pup and paid the full asking price plus 250 for shipping.

I got an email the next day stating the pup was 14.5 ounces, very healthy with tight little knees. She was then shipped to me. I picked her up at the airport and she was a small black pup and very friendly. At that point I was pleased.

A month later I weighed the pup and she had doubled in size. I emailed Cheryl with my concerns and she said the pup had come from very tiny parents and she would contact the other people who had bought pups from that litter to see if those pups had grown as much. I didnt hear back from her and a month later I weighed the pup again. Again she had grown at a rapid rate. I emailed Cheryl again.

The response i got was, "why was I doing this now, I had a pup I liked so why complain?" She also said she bought a bulldog that had health problems and she didnt complain and a lady in Colorado bought 2 poms off her that weighed 2.5 and 4 lbs grown. I didnt understand what this had to do with anything.

After several emails back and forth I kept complaining I had paid 1500 dollars for a micro pomeranian and did not get what i paid for. She said she would ask her husband if they could take the dog back, this would entail me paying to ship her back, then waiting for her to be sold then paying the difference plus reshipping another pup! By this time I was very attached to her and didnt want to give her up..

She finally agreed to send me another pup that she couldnt sell but I would have to pay for shipping. I was going out of town that week so I said I would call when I got back. I called 2 weeks later and whoever answered the phone said Cheryl wasnt there, there werent any available pups and the message would be relayed.. It was like pulling teeth trying to talk to this person who would not even give me her name.

There is so much more that was said, so many excuses given and to this day I have not heard back from Cheryl. My dog is now 14 months old, weighs 5 and a half pounds and has health issues which I never complained about. She is not a quality pomeranian, she has allergies, dry skin and cannot be held on her back as she gasps for air. None of this I care about. Dogs like people have health issues and I am dealing with it. My complaint is Cheryl sold me a dog that was not supposed to go over 2.5 pounds, that is why I paid a high price. She claims she cannot predict adult size at 8 weeks. I understand that no one can predict an exact size but why put a high price on a dog, predict a small size when your not sure and when the animal is almost 3 times the size tell the new owner, get over it?

I feel I have been ripped off. I should have done my homework before buying from this person. I have since seen several complaints like mine where the people were told they were going to have tiny Poms and they all end up over 5 pounds. I got a regular Pom at a huge price. She says she has references well here is mine, Buyer Beware! Do not buy a pup from this person. If you want a regular Pom at a regular price buy from a local reputable breeder..

foodforthought, dont you have anything else to do with your life other than call people idiots and ###s? FYI, the health issues my Pom has are very common amongst Pomeranians, even well bred ones. Micro puppies is just a term used by breeders to signify they are smaller than average...pretty much runts.. I wanted smaller because I travel alot and would be easier to tote a smaller pet with me...Not that its any of your business... obviously Your parents didnt teach you any manners and YOU should be ashamed of yourself for calling people names..Make you feel big about yourself? also FYI, even though I didnt get what I paid for I do know that my pup didnt come from a puppy mill, so before you spew your ugliness on other people make sure you know what you are talking about..

I purchased a pomerainian puppy from Cheryl and Carrie in april 2008, my darling is five pounds of joy, Cheryl and Carrie were truthful accommodating and professional and let me pay for dog in payments... she does have a hip problem that she developed at five years old. The only reason that I am even on this site is because I am look for another dog and I want to buy it from C & C thank you

My friend just got a VERY VERY VERY sick puppy from the same breeders. How heartless to keep breeding such sick puppies. They claim it's the buyers fault. Money isn't even the issue anymore. Obviously this has been going on for WAY too long. I've found poor reviews with the same facts from 2008. I think it's about time that someone puts a stop to this animal abuse.

Please if you haven't sent me your story, please do. Additions to aka's: My Perfect Pomeranian, Sutherland, Nebraska. Carie is listed on some sites as a breeder. I guess there isn't a check box for broker on those sites. I stand corrected if she moved up the ladder?

Hello, I am from Mexico. I spent a lot of time looking for a nice Pomeranian dog, and since i could find good ones here in Mexico I searched in USA to find a pet. I talked a lot with Carrie, she said to me she was selling my a small pom (between 3-4lbs.) who has akc and apri registration pappers. I need AKC to be able to get the puppie's registration re validated here in Mexico. Once i bought the puppy it turned out it had ni akc papers, she kep promising the papers, which of course never appeared. Bu the wat the "tiny" puppy turned into a weird looking dog, a mediumd size dog that dosnt resemble a pomeranian. She stopped answering my emails when i kep asking for the akc papers, also when i asked her why my Pom didnt look like a pom. It is very sad that she cointinues to sell tons of puppies when she is obviously a FRAUD! Someone should stop her. I tried tons of times to reach out to her, but she never gave me ANY explanation at all. Guess there Fraudulent poeple everywhere.

You are a ###. The micro dog you want is a genetic freak. Why don't you get a hamster?

Another aka: (Carrie, the next generation) My Perfect Pomeranians in Maxwell, Nebraska. Buyer beware. This is the same person who is affiliated with Cheryl. It is her daughter.
You are still estimating size when full grown. When will you learn.
And stop using wolf sable until you understand what type that is. Check it out on the akc website so you know what that means. Did you sell any that grew up to actually be a wolf sable? For someone who claims to be experienced you should know what you're selling. I know, I know, there are so many excuses to use.

They are out of your lines because they are sick and genetically defective. The more you talk, the more you trip up. Keep talking and telling your lies. How dare you continue to sell dogs that are not what you say. Yes, how dare you? rippedoffinsfd please get in touch with me. I am glad your little guy does not have anything terminal and you're right, as long as they got your money, they don't care. They are always happy to unload another defective puppy on you though. Shame on you Cheryl, to continue on teaching the next generation to do the same.

My Precious Poms sick puppy

Received a sick puppy from Cheryl. I bought it off of Nextday Pets. The puppy was shipped with kibble that was too large for it to eat. No water was in the crate. It had diarrhea all over the crate.I immediately took it to the vet. After nearly 2, 000 dollars in emergency care the puppy pulled through. Cheryl refused to honor the healthy puppy guarantee. I received no refund for the amount I spent on the puppy or the Vet costs. Do not deal with these people!

Myself and Martini too, were victims of Cheryl and Carrie Boettger. I must note, I did not buy the puppy from sellers' website listed above. I found her listing when doing a search for a black and white pom, which led me to the classified site TerrificPets.com on 7/7/08. Cheryl called me on the phone same evening after I sent her an email inquiring about...
