Computer scam
I was on my computer Thursday, Nov. 17th and out of the blue a screen came up that read in large letters my computer was infected with viruses and spyware and needed urgent repair and virus/spyware protection, it also read to call Microsoft asap at (do not have phone number) which I did call and a man answered and told me he was from Microsoft and would take care of eliminating the viruses and spyware on my computer. Then he told me to have the anti-virus and anti-spyware protection downloaded on my computer there would be a charge of $350 for 3 years of technical support from Microsoft. He convinced me to fix my computer and I used my USAA Visa credit card to pay the $350. The 1st man told me his name was Mark Stinson from Texas. I am sure it was a fake name.
The next thing a different man was on the phone with an Oriental accent and was into my computer going through all my programs and more...
now my computer is so screwed up I have to take it to someone who will honestly fix it. I feel like a big fool, believing these 2 men and using my USAA Credit card to pay the $350.
The next think I knew another man was on the phone with me from a company he said was MyTechBay, I did not think to ask where this company was from and I did ask if this man was working with Microsoft as I was told and when he was "in" my computer he typed verification he was representing Microsoft.
Would you please help me get my $350 Credited back to my Visa USAA credit card...I foolishly listened to a computer scam and it cost me a lot.
Please, please help me... Thank you so much
Company didn't find the problem in my computer
I received the phone call from the company MyTechBay. The agent informed me that my computer was hacked and all my files were deleted or lost. I signed up for their services and one year protection of viruses. One day I really had problems with my computer and contacted them, and they couldn’t find the problem. So I want to warn all people, don’t waste time and money for these scammers.

Mytechbay.com you are considering visiting, which is associated with MyTechBay, is very old. Longevity often suggests that a website has consistently provided valuable content, products, or services over the years and has maintained a stable user base and a sustained online presence. This could be an indication of a very positive reputation.
However ComplaintsBoard has detected that:
- You should not trust a website that appears to be parked, especially if you have already paid money to the website. A parked website may be a sign that the website owner is no longer actively maintaining or developing the site, and there is a risk that the site could be a scam.
- Mytechbay.com has relatively low traffic compared to other websites, it could be due to a niche focus, but could also indicate a potential lack of traffic and popularity. The mytechbay.com may offer a niche product or service that is only of interest to a smaller audience.
- MyTechBay protects their ownership data, a common and legal practice. However, from our perspective, this lack of transparency can impede trust and accountability, which are essential for establishing a credible and respected business entity.
They're scam
I want to warn everyone that the company My TechBay is scam and they took money and provide nothing in return. They told me that my account was in danger and they offered to check it and provide help. But they took about $175 from my account without warning me. I sent emails to their company and told to stop it, and return money. But no one replied. Please, I needed help. Maybe someone can help me return money.
