National Tree Company Christmas Tree ordered - Order#: 18470

Their website defaulted to my old address. When I called to tell them the tree would be shipped to the wrong address, and requested they update the address, I was told too bad. I called Fed-Ex to try and change the address, and was told the shipper had to change it. I called back to National Tree and they said they would not do that, and the tree would be shipped to the wrong address...regardless of what I said.

Claimed loss: $550

Desired outcome: refund my money and have Fed-Ex pick up the tree at the address

National Tree Company 4' artificial tree

I purchased this product via Amazon. The seller has GROSSLY misrepresented the product I purchased. What I got was a sparse, cheap, shiny dark black tree. The picture they present is a very full, dark green, matte finish to the branches. EVERY TIME I leave a 1-star review for this junk, the SELLER sends me a nonsense message stating "after researching your purchase we've found that the tree is authentic. We will be removing your review so customers have a truer sense of our products" WHAT?! This is one of the shadiest companies I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with.

I have issues with Amazon for supporting sellers like this but Amazon isn't what it used to be, either. Do Not buy from this company.

Desired outcome: I want my honest review to stay on the Amazon website.

National Tree Company Douglas fir prelit artificial tree

I've already contacted your company once. This tree didn't have the socket to connect the lights of one section of the tree. I've already sent you a picture of the problem which was on the top of section 2. It turns out that there were 2 wires for that section but no socket.. It required an electrician to identify the problem. For something that was supposed to be so easy, it turned out to cost additional money, time and frustration.Very disappointed in the product. I'm at the point of returning this to Amazon but thought you might want to be aware of the problem. Feel free to contact me as I've got pictures of the wires without socket connection.

Desired outcome: Refund, total or partial

this seems like a very shady company

Is National Tree Company Legit?

National Tree Company earns a trustworthiness rating of 91%

Highly recommended, but caution will not hurt.

Our conclusion: After a detailed review, ComplaintsBoard finds National Tree Company to be a trustworthy company. Although there's a 11% resolution rate for customer complaints, which deserves attention, National Tree Company is known for their high standards and safety. If you're thinking about dealing with National Tree Company, it's wise to check how they handle complaints.

The age of National Tree Company's domain suggests that they have had sufficient time to establish a reputation as a reliable source of information and services. This can provide reassurance to potential customers seeking quality products or services.

Nationaltree.com has a valid SSL certificate, which indicates that the website is secure and trustworthy. Look for the padlock icon in the browser and the "https" prefix in the URL to confirm that the website is using SSL.

According to our analysis, National Tree Company appears to be offering travel services on their website. While many travel companies are legitimate, it's important to be cautious and do your research before booking a trip to ensure that you are getting a good deal and not falling victim to a scam.

This website offers payment methods that provide the option for customers to get their money back, which could be a positive indicator of the company's commitment to customer satisfaction.

Nationaltree.com appears to have online shopping features, it's important to know that the platform supports an extensive range of payment methods, making it convenient and easy to complete your transaction. The payment procedure on the website is also relatively simple and straightforward, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience for buyers.

However ComplaintsBoard has detected that:

  • While National Tree Company has a high level of trust, our investigation has revealed that the company's complaint resolution process is inadequate and ineffective. As a result, only 11% of 9 complaints are resolved. The support team may have poor customer service skills, lack of training, or not be well-equipped to handle customer complaints.
  • No reviews for nationaltree.com on popular sites. Be cautious and do additional research. Look for information about the National Tree Company and be careful with personal information or transactions.
  • Nationaltree.com has relatively low traffic compared to other websites, it could be due to a niche focus, but could also indicate a potential lack of traffic and popularity. The nationaltree.com may offer a niche product or service that is only of interest to a smaller audience.

National Tree Company pre-lit christmas tree

Two weeks ago in November of 2017 I bought a pre-lit Christmas tree manufactured by National Tree Company. Paperwork in box gives website at which to register product. I have attempted to reach their website through both Google and the other major browser and National Tree and have not been able to access the company's website to register the product. Now I am reading about all the complaints this company has received relating to their trees. So far the tree is working; but if it fails to work in the future, I will know that I am basically out of luck. I am hoping for the best but preparing for the worst. You cannot reach website to register product. Bad sign. Certainly will not buy anything from this company in the future if this tree fails.

National Tree Company 7.5 ft prelit multi tree

We had trouble the first year when the tree didn't want to light up. I registered the tree and contacted customer service and they never responded. I contacted them again and no response. The tree was registered and I wrote emails and called with no response. The 3 parts of the tree light up when they are separate with an extension cord. However, when they are connected they do not light up. This tree is a piece of crap. My husband had heart surgery the first year when we had trouble, and another heart attack earlier this year and really didn't need this tree problem. This ruined our Christmas two years in a row. I'm going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. This company should not be allowed to cheat their customers.

National Tree Company Pre-lit 7.5 tree

I bought a brand new tree for well over $500 on 12/2 of 2016. The tree worked for one and half weeks and then 8 branches in the center to the tree went out. I called their customer service to complain and get the tree fixed. It has now been two weeks of hassles with these people only to find out that after January 15th, I'm supposed to call them to get the tree fixed. I asked for some kind of compensation for my troubles. No we don't do anything for you. No money off, no gift certificates, no nothing except we will fix it in January. For the amount of money I paid for a new tree, the tree should work perfectly and not have eight branches out one and a half weeks later. Stay away from this company!

National Tree Company Don't buy their christmas tree

We bought a pre-lit National Christmas Tree from a local business, "Tis the Season", in Nov. 2006. The first year the tree worked great, it was a good looking tree. Last year we put the tree up and plugged it in only to discover that over 1/2 of the lights didn't work. We called the local business and arranged to take it in for them to work on it. The claimed to repair it, and we put it up again. Still didn't work. We took it in 2 more times and the tree still didn't work. Finally we demanded the local business come to our house to fix the tree. The spent about 2 hours working on it, and got most of the lights working.

The next morning, over 1/2 of the lights wouldn't come on when we plugged it in. We called the local business and they said they would re-string the tree if we would bring it in Jan. 2008.

We took the tree in, and they went out of business with our tree! After 5 months, we finally got out tree back. They claimed they had re-strung the tree. We started putting up the tree and discovered that out of over 20 light strings, only one worked. I started trying to get it to work and found out that after 1 hour I had replaced over 20 burned out lights on one string!

This tree had been used less than 2 months, and most of the lights were already burned out.

I called National Tree and described my experience to them. They stated they would send out free lights so we could decorate for Christmas, then they would pick up the tree after Christmas and fix it.

One week later, no lights. I called them again and was advised that the tree was out of warranty, and the local dealer had voided the warranty by working on it. They weren't sending any lights out, but would be glad to sell me some lights.

I explained that the tree had failed while it was in warranty, and the local dealer had instructed me on what to do.

Bottom line, they don't tell you what warranty coverage is...they don't keep their promises.

It was apparent they are much more interested in dodging their warranty and breaking promises...they like to sell them, but this tree is a joke!

The lights have been on for less than two months, and most of them are already burned out! National Tree doesn't tell you what their warranty is...the only way you can find out is to go to their web site. By the time you research their warranty, it's too late.

I'm out over $500 and my new Christmas tree only lasted one season.

Don't buy your Christmas Tree from Nation Tree Company!

We bought a Martha Stewart prelit 7.5 ft. tree last year from Home Depot. I is a beautiful tree with a sprinkling of snow on it. Worked great last xmas, This year two sections of lights did not work, so I called and emailed on a sunday to report this. First thing on monday morning, I got an email saying someone would call, and shortly after, someone called, she could not have been nicer or more helpful. She is sending us two strands of lights(100 lights in each) so we can put them on to get through the holidays, then in mid-january we are to call back and they will fix or replace the actual non working lights. I was very happy with the customer service I received!

National Tree Company has got to have the worst customer service I have ever witnessed.

I bought a pre-lit tree a few years ago from my local Costco. The first year it worked great, no problems. The second year it was working fine when I set it up, but about a week in several strands of lights completely stopped working. I tried to figure out (by checking the box) what company had made the tree so that I could contact them about the issue but there was absolutely no information at all...not on the box, and no papers inside the box. I contacted Costco who informed me that the tree was made by National Tree Company. I contacted National Tree Company's customer service and told them about the issue. Right away they did not want to help me resolve the issue because I had not registered my tree on their website...how could I do this when there was no information that came with tree regarding the manufacturer? The agent was less than helpful and I ended up having to call back several times to find some one who would help me. In the end, they agreed to send me replacement strands but made me pay for them...they finally arrived at the end of January when obviously my tree had been taken down. I opened the box and seen they appeared to be the correct lights.

This year I was eager to set up my tree and attach my new light strands but as I started to pull them out of the box I noticed one major problem...each strand only had one male connector...how was I going to connect them together? I immediately contacted National Tree Company and again received horrible service because my tree was not registered! They had no record of me calling the previous year and when I asked to speak to a supervisor I was cut off...twice! I was finally able to speak with an agent who was some what helpful, but instead of allowing me to return the lights (which were obviously useless) and get the correct lights, she told me what I needed was a splitter. Fine. They charged me for it and said it would take 8-10 days to arrive. That was December 3, it is now December 29th and the splitter is still not here. I have sent them several e-mails with no response.

Luckily, I was able to return the tree to where I purchased it but I've definitely learned my lesson!

NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM NATIONAL TREE COMPANY!
