The best veterinarian ever!
I have a scruffy old cat that I love. She had been losing weight and I took her to THREE different vets before a friend recommended Dr. Welch at the I-20 Animal Medical Center in Arlington, Texas. It is obvious she loves cats and she was so sweet and gentle with Athena. Athena never stopped purring during the entire exam! Dr. Welch ran tests (she was thorough but did not just try to run up my bill), discussed her findings (turns out Athena had heart and thyroid disease AND was diabetic!), and started a treatment plan that has really made Athena feel so much better.
Recommendation: Ask for Dr. Welch
National Veterinary Associates is a total scam
National Veterinary Associates is a total scam. They prioritize making money over caring for pets. They'll charge you exorbitant fees and conduct unnecessary and costly tests just to drain your wallet. And when you finally catch on to their deceitful ways, they'll send you straight to their lawyers. They're constantly deleting negative reviews and posting fake positive ones to deceive unsuspecting customers.
Greed and inepitude at the top is sending veterenarians and other staff at the bottom running for the hills
Greed and inepitude at the top is sending veterenarians and other staff at the bottom running for the hills. No wonder turnover is so high. Company needs to do some real soul searching. Whats more important, how big the margins are or maintaining and improving the veterinary field? Because what they are doing is moving the field backwards.
I dunno where to start with the bad stuff 'bout workin' for NVA
I dunno where to start with the bad stuff 'bout workin' for NVA. The main thing is the separation between NVA and the local clinic. I loved my crew and docs at the clinic I worked at, but anythin' to do with NVA was just plain negative. I had to deal with lotsa different big shots, and they were all the same. They talked a big game, but never followed through. They straight-up lied to me 'bout the job I was hired for. The clinic ended up closin' in less than a year. They said I could choose between two other NVA clinics nearby, but that was a load of bull. At the new place, they kept tellin' us we'd get upgrades to the buildin' and even took us to check out new sites. But guess what? All lies. The roof leaks and now there's mold. They keep sayin' it's "with the lawyers" for months now. Emails to the big shots get ignored over and over. Even though I gave my all to the clinic, NVA never showed they cared 'bout us on the ground level. It's hurtful, and I ain't gonna be associated with NVA no more.
Very unprofesional and dishonest employees
Very unprofesional and dishonest employees. The managment accused me of saying things on the phone that were never said and then accused me of a disturbance in parking lot screaming. All which was never said or done. I was sitting in my diesel truck with engine going (for air conditioner) windows up and my large dog had barked at another smaller dog, which I guess had upset the other small dogs owner. Because that owner complained that there was screaming. Five to ten minutes later, The Office manager came out and said "we had a complaint of a disturbance of a man and wife fighting in parking lot" "Do you know anything about it?" Obviously, I said no. She went inside. About five minutes later, she came out and said I'm sorry but we are cancelling your appointment. When asked why she said "after the complaints they don't feel its a good fix". Never asking me anything, they found me guilty of something I didn't do without letting me explain my side of their complaints. When one vet spoke to my daughter on the phone their stories kept changing and basically said I have to believe my employees and the other client has been with us a long time.
My puppy ate a grape, which I guess can be toxic even in small amounts
My puppy ate a grape, which I guess can be toxic even in small amounts. Couldn't get my vet on phone... phone system out... called this place, they said that she should probably be induced to vomit. Took her there. Literally took longer to fill out online registration than it took to get there. Went to door and they let me in and told me they didn't have my registration, I would have to do it over. Had me sit in an entryway... floor was disturbingly dirty for a hospital! Then they said they now had my registration and put a leash on my pup and the girl said "go home" for a couple of hours. I said she needs to throw up and she said we will get to her but we have critical animals and only one vet. I asked if I could stay, she said yes and took her away without another word. I looked into the office and half the lights were out and it looked dark and dreary and just as dirty as the lobby. It said no entrance but I walked to the desk and told them I wanted my dog back now. I felt if I left her I might not see her alive again. They brought her out and I told them how dirty I thought it was and they said they were doing the best they could and they asked me to leave because I was abusing the staff? I left running with my pooch! Saw another vet in the next hour!
I had sick husky pups with parvo this last week and before then brought our Doberman there
I had sick husky pups with parvo this last week and before then brought our Doberman there. This place received my pups all clean well cared for I was doing everything I could until I could get there and all 5 dogs died. We paid 9,400 for my baby's to be saved not to get jasper an red riding hood back at 7 am Sunday morning (Mother's Day) covered in poop, puke, pee. I have updated pics before they left and when THEY CAME HOME TO DIE IN MY ARMS! I gave jasper cpr 3 times and successfully brought him back at home on my OWN. I had them clean in the first 10 mins and up until they passed. They say in the paperwork jasper was the best he was alert when they did kennel check n vitals etc yet he was the one who wouldn't even look at me or hold his head up upon pickup and red was the one doing better who was said to be the worst. Mocha was doing as good as jasper at 1 am when I checked in and when I arrived in parking lot an called she was supposedly in critical condition an needed to be euthanized. I never got to say goodbye to her! This place let my pups sit in their own feces for days fighting for their lives like they were nothin they gave Tyson another one who passed some bloodsuger meds or something 95 times in 2 days! I had called and tryed to ask for an itemized list of what I was charged for and they had blocked my number so I called off our other phone! They then sent me the receipts after an hr wait! DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE IF YOU VALUE THEIR LIFE! I would have spent 100,000+ to save my fur baby's but after seeing my baby's after pickup (the 2 that survived this horrific tragic place) I feel like they never even had a chance from the moment they got there! We are all devastated at the outcome my kids are all heartbroken. I can't stop looking at the before an after pics wondering if blue pearl had taken new patients if they would have made it all home alive🥺 we are all more then dissatisfied with the care they had! I can't sleep I can't eat my heart is just torn! I pray that the courts see this place for what it is and SHUT IT DOWN! We will be taking them to court and making this aware to anyone and everyone what happened over this weekend because I hope and pray it never happens to another family again!

My dog was given Cerenia, an anti-nausea medication, without a toxin screening
My dog was given Cerenia, an anti-nausea medication, on 4/27/23 without a toxin screening. I suspect this hastened his death from rat poison the next day. On the night of 4/27/23, they diagnosed him with pancreatitis and sent us home. I questioned if poisoning, a gland issue, or an obstruction could be the cause, but was told those were unlikely. I seek a refund for the 4/27/23 expenses and urge NVA to mandate toxin screenings before administering Cerenia. Thanks. For info:
This office charged our credit card too much
This office charged our credit card too much. They took money from our account for three days straight. When I told them about it, they said it was the card company's fault and they didn't know anything. My husband and I don't believe them. We don't trust them at all. I have attached files to prove that they not only charged our card for three days, but they also went over the agreed amount by $11. I want a full refund and I want to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else in the future. The statement shows that Animal Medical Hospital took the money, so they should be responsible for the theft. They sent us a receipt a few days ago saying they returned the money, but it never showed up in our account. We think the receipt was fake.
