I was looking for Weight Loss sites and clicked onto this company. Boy, was that a BIG mistake! Received the trial sample I ordered for $ 4.99 on 2-6-09 and to my surprise my credit card was charged $79.96 on 2-26-09. Red flags should have been raised when my bank left a message on the day I ordered to see if I o.k.'d this purchase for $4.99. Since everything is automated I just approved the charge and forgot about it. HUGE mistake. I should have checked further into it. My bad. I was lucky to find a 1-800 number under "complaints" when you Google their web site. Called the number - waited forever for a representative - finally talked to "Marvin" who informed me that yes, I did sign up for my account to be charged $79.96. I asked where did it say that and he told me that it was in my e-mail confirmation and I informed him that I have my e-mail conformation and it said no such thing and the packing list I received with my order also said nothing about canceling anything. An even bigger surprise was that "Marvin" told me that I also signed up for "Fit Factory" AND "Cost Smashers" when I "agreed" (NOT!) to sign up with them. I asked him to cancel my "membership" and he also canceled my "membership" to the other 2 companies. I also informed "Marvin" that I would be filing a complaint and contacting my credit card company at once. He said he was going to go ahead and "credit" my credit card with the $79.96 that I was charged. I got conformation #'s for that, my "membership" to Natures Acai, Fit Factory and Cost Smashers. After reading other complaints I feel pretty lucky that I was offered a refund. As of yet my credit card has not been credited but I will keep a close eye out for that and any other unauthorized charges to my account. Like they say "There should be a law!" This is downright FRAUD! Do not get sucked into their scam. I will never EVER order anything like this again!

You agree to a free trial and they start billing your card even though you try and call
to tell them you do not want their product.
You have to go to your bank and file a complaint in order to get you money back.
That seems to be the price you have to pay for dealing with this bogas company

"FREE TRIAL OFFERs" FOR ACAI BERRY ARE NOT FREE!
In fact they will cost you more than 4 TIMES AS MUCH as it should cost per bottle. These scammers will charge your credit card at least $80 per bottle each month. That more than twice as much as quality freeze-dried acai berry should cost. And to make it worse, they send you crappy drum dried Acai Berry, which cost about 1/2 as much to produce. So you end up paying at least 4 times more per bottle than you should.

YOU WILL BE SIGNED UP FOR A SUBSCRIPTION
Yes, they say they just charge you for shipping. If that were so, it wouldn't be bad. But in reality, they just want your credit card number and will bill you every month for a subscription you didn't sign up for. They bury the fine print in their terms and conditions.

YOU WILL SPEND HOURS TRYING TO CANCEL THE SUBSCRIPTION
There will either be noone to contact to return the crappy product, or they will say you have to call their customer service number to get return authorization. When you do, you are put on hold and shuffled between different people until you give up. Don't believe me? Before you purchase, call or email them and say you did not sign up for a subscription and please stop sending the product. You will get the runaround

THEY WILL SHIP YOU A CRAPPY, NEARLY WORTHLESS NO NAME BRAND OF ACAI BERRY SUPPLEMENT
They don't expect you to be happy with the product. They don't care, so they make even more money by shipping you crap. Acai Berry supplements must be freeze dried, or else they lose most of the nutrients and antioxidents. These scammers use cheap, heat processed Acai that cost 1/2 as much. Read more about choosing a quality supplement

THEY OFTEN BUNDLE OTHER PRODUCTS IN THE SUBSCRIPTION TO CHARGE YOU EVEN MORE
It's really obscene what some of these scammers do. We've listed a common offer below, where they bundle additional offers if you do not deselect the checkbox (it's checked by default). Some are hitting people with $150 a month in charges.

Natures ACAI Berry

Scam

I ordered Nature's Acai Berry on 2/13/09. I received it at my home on 2/26/09. I called to cancel my account on 2/27, but could not get through on their phone lines. I tried again on 2/28 and still could not get through (after being on hold for 35 minutes!). I finally got on operator on 3/3 and she didn't let me talk. She said they were busy and someone would call me back in 24-48 hours. Nobody called me so I called again on 3/5 and cancelled the account. I got my credit care bill today and GUESS WHAT? They charged me $79.96 because I didn't call them in time to cancel my account! I just got off the phone with Nancy Martinez, a "customer service supervisor" who told me there was nothing she could do for me. I AM FURIOUS! Besides the fact that the acai berry did absolutely NOTHING for me except give me a headache! If you are considering ordering this product, DON'T! It is nothing but a SCAM!

I recently ordered both Bromolite and Nature's Acai Berry, like most I did not completely read the fine print. I received Bromolite 3 days after I placed the order. I just called the company to cancel my subscription as I've been on the product for 2 weeks and have seen no results. I just missed my trial by one day, yesterday was the end of my 14 day trial, therefore I was charged this morning $69.95 for the "free bottle" obviously not free at all; the fine print states that you will be charged for the bottle you currently have if you do not cancel within 14 days of your order. The customer service rep was quick to answer the phone, and was nice enough to not just cancel my subscription but return my $69.95...which I will have to follow up with my bank within the next 10 days to make sure I received this refund. Regarding Nature's Acai Berry...I ordered the product and did not receive it within the amount of time the company stated that I would. I called the customer service number and must have been on hold for 20 minutes before someone answered, they quickly shipped me a new bottle which I received about 5 days ago and they also extended my trial subcription for an additional 1 1/2 weeks more or less. They did mention the additional subscription to that fit club but I quickly cancelled this subscription while on the phone with the Acai Berry rep as he was scheduling the second shipment of my bottle. So far it appears that everything is going ok for me...I am keeping my fingers crossed, and I assume that it's thanks to most of the people who have place complaints before me.

Natures Acai supplement

False charges not in fine print

I ordered a trial of the acai berry supplement and had to call them because it had not arrived as stated but was charged for it. Then a week later I was charged another 29.95 fee on my account. When I called the number I was given the run around and transferred. they told me that it was for a program that went with the supplement that gave access to a help/exercise website. This is a scam and I would not reccommend that you try it Just visit your local GNC Store where you can puchase it for a fracture of the cost.

This company is a fraud and the people who works there are SCAM ARTISTS! In this economic climate, with what we're going through trying to hold on to our homes, jobs and whatever money we have to survive, these people are out here preying on people who are looking for help to lose weight.

To add insult to injury, the customer service representative had the audicity to tell me there was a fee for cancellation! Are they kidding?! With the unauthorized charges to my credit card along with shipments they don't send out, these people have unloaded another scam on the unsuspecting public. I have every intention of filing complaints any and every where I can! I WANT MY MONEY BACK!

Not only did they charge my debit card $79.86 but after I tried to get a hold of them they took my name and number due to having high volume of calls. They are also located in the Philippines. They also had me signed, without my clear knowledge, for 2 other memberships. They say there is nothing they can do. The $1.99 shipping fee only pays the shipping. If they don't hear from you within 14 days they'll charge the full value of the bottle. The problem is the stuff made me very sick and they refused to give me my money back.

I also purchased a "free" bottle of Acai Berry for the charge of $4.99 shipping. I received the bottle and also received a charge of $79.96 on my credit card. After reading the above complaints, I called them. They told me the $4.99 was just for shipping and handling and the $79.96 charge was for the "free" bottle.

I then informed them that I work for attorneys and would make good use of their services if I did not receive a full refund. Within 5 minutes I was issued a credit to my credit card and 4 confirmation numbers for cancellation of the first bottle; cancellation of the program; cancellation for another program that I had no idea of what it was, and then a confirmation number for cancellation of the 2nd charge for a second bottle of Acai Berry.

I will be notifying the Attorney General and the Oprah Winfrey Show.

I just got off the phone with this company and did not receive a refund. I am in the midst of contacting BBB and filing a complaint as well as contacting the Attorney General.

I asked nicely for a refund. The first guy hung up on me. The second guy just babbled some incomprehensible comment saying something about the term disclosures. I said it isn't much of a product trial if you don't even receive the product until two days before the trial expires. I respectfully requested a refund though after almost a total of an hour of being on hold I wasn't feeling very respectful. Since I had received the product late I decided to go ahead and try it out. The product actually made me sick and jittery. I wound up with a horrid migraine for the last three days nto even able to care for my infant son.

I will attempt calling them back and letting them know I am filing with BBB and going to call my credit card company and issue a chargeback. Hopefully it worked for some of you it might work for me.

Knowing that you can't even get someone on the phone to speak with you, how could you even swallow the bogus product? I've heard people rushed to the hospital, alot of people getting sick and so forth... someone even posted the ingredients on this website and one of the ingredients said, NOT DIGESTIBLE BY HUMANS!"

The ingredient looks normal until you look it up in the dictionary!

Was charged for items never received. Was advertised as free sample. Charged $198.77

Florida
United States

My credit card was charged by WWW.NATURES-ACAI.COM RENO NV for an alleged free sample for a diet product that was not received, and then additional charges were made against the credit card, all of which total $198.77 between February 19-March 6, 2017. when the credit card statement came in, the following company names also appeared, which upon further investigatin by me, revealed that they are the same "company", but none of them are actually located in Nevada...they are in the Philippines!

The other names they use are: WWWSELFHELPFFC00 OF 00; [protected] NV (and) WWWCOSTSMASHCO00 OF 00; [protected] NV.

They try to tell you that you asked for the products on-line and then failed to notify them, as per your "contract", that you did not desire monthly (and then some) auto shipments.

I have disputed the charges on my credit card and have told the company (in the Philippines) that I will pursue legal action if they do not cease charging my card, and should immediately remove any account information they have on file for me or my household.

I was given three separate confirmation codes for the alleged cancellation.

I plan to monitor his VERY closely.

Be WARNED---ths is indeed a scam. Look for these company names on your credit card statements whether you've asked for a free sample or not. I believe this is a credit card "phishing" expedition.

natures acai

Unauthorized withdraw

I had signed up for a 30 day free trial through Nature's Acai. I had to pay a small shipping and handling fee with this purchase. And then 15 days later I went to the grocery store and was declined! Knowing this couldn't be true I checked my bank account and I find out they take an additional 79.99 out of my account! Furious I called their "customer service" and they told me there wasn't anything Ithey could do for me it was my fault because I didn't read the "fine print." As I was not satisfied by this I demanded to speak with someone of importance there to see what I could do. A supervisor then told me the same thing. After about an hour of arguing with these people they finally agreed to refund me the full amount and they removed me from the list. I called yesterday and I still have yet to see my refund. I called them again and they say it went through. I don't know. It was a long process but it was worth it. People need to be aware that nothing is ever free! Don't be fooled like I did. I was one of the lucky ones to get a refund, most others do not. Truthfully, the pills are not worth all of this aggrevation. Better Business Bureou needs to look into this.

When will I learn? After reading all the hype about Acai Berry (especially "seen on Oprah and Rachel Ray", I thought I would give it a try. After I ordered I had a second thought - if Oprah thinks Acai Berry is so great why is she so fat? I called to cancel immediately after experienceing bloating and being more hungry while taking this product than when I don't. I called immediately to cancel and was promised no future charges would be made to my account. So far there haven't been, but I'm holding my breath. There's no fool like an old fool and I guess that describes me completely. I only need to lose about 15 pounds and thought this product might help me lose the last stubborn pounds. I cannot afford these high priced products. So, buyer beware, there is always a catch to "try it for FREE with our 30 day supply". In reality they are only giving you 14 days and some are 7 days. I'm done. They can waste their time and money advertising on the internet but I'm turing my head the other way. Just eat smaller portions. It takes longer but it's cheaper and it works!

I also ordered their "free" bottle of acai for the shipping charges of $4.99. What a shock when I received my credit card statement showing a charge of $79.96. I called the company and they said it was in their disclosure statement that if I didn't cancel in 15 days I would be charged. The woman I spoke to said she would cancel the membership but couldn't refund my $79.96. I insisted on speaking to the manager and after telling him if he didn't refund my money I was going to my credit card company and would have the charge removed. Then he said he would give me a courtesy discount. Then I went online to check my credit card statement and saw a charge of $29.95 which I couldn't recognize. I called the number on the statement and it was a membership that I supposedly agreed to when I ordered the "free" bottle of acai. After a lot of talking I got a "courtesy credit". I find it hard to believe that we all missed their so-called disclosure statement!

I was duped by this company's misleading sales techniques. Apparently, I did not read the terms very well. I also blame AOL for not insisting that companies disclose this shady sales practice up front in the initial ad. I was told that $85.91 would be reversed from my account, but that a $79.96 charge could not be reversed. By the way, I received the first bottle (the free one) about March 2nd or 3rd. Then I got a second bottle on March 10th. Yet I was charged the $79.96 on February 19th (which I assume was close to the date I ordered the product.) and $85.91 on March 4th. I am going to file a complaint with the California Consumer Affairs Division.

Misleading Advertisement

Complaint Rating:
I have read over 100 complaints that read all the same. Unfortunately, I made the exact same mistake that everyone else did before I READ ALL OF THE COMPLAINTS. I ordered the "free trial" and got charged the $4.99 shipping and handling charge. And, I am fine with that. Once I received the produtct I looked at the paperwork that was sent with the product...AND nowhere does it say anything about calling and canceling within 15 days. And not even 10 days after I received the product, they charge my credit card $79.86. First off, the stuff isn't worth that much anyway. And secondly, they give you nothing in print that tells you that you will be charged additional money if you don't call within 15 days of placing you order online.

This scam is just about a ruthless as the scam that some of the magazine companies run on you. MY GOD $80 a bottle...that's two months worth of gym membership and a hell fo a lot of Healthy Choice meals.

Fortunately, I sit at an extremely powerful level of the government and I am going to do EVERYTHING in my power to see that companies like this are made to pay. I certainly hope that someone from this company reads this and take this as a wake up call because the next steps are going to be EXTREMELY unpleasant for them. With the current state of the economy, no one is going to tolerate scams that cheat people out of their money due to fine print.

And to compound the insult to injury, when I did call to cancel my "membership" the lady was trying to sell me more CRAP. The product may be wonderful, but the way that they market the product is EXTREMELY misleading. Please, Please, Please do not do business with these people. If I collected $1 from everyone that has been scammed by this company I would be rich. I'm not sure where this will lead, but I am not going to give up until I find the person responsible for this...May God help them when I do.

after making numerous calls to request charges be refunded, my account was never corrected. I attemped to contact a supervisor and was never allowed to speak with one, nor did one ever return my calls. They claim their 14 day trial begins when they ship Nature's Acai Berry product. The terms are fradulent and misleading. How can one have a 14day "FREE" trial when it takes 7-10 days to receive the product. No one can determine how a product performs in 2 to 3 days. Their claims that the product will ship within 24 hours of ordering is fraudlent. If you are not satisfied with Nature's Acai Berry, you can cancel before the end of the 14-day trial period by calling [protected] M-F, 9am-9pm, EST, and your credit card will not be charged further. If you are happy with Nature's Acai Berry, do nothing and your credit card will be charged an additional $79.96 approximately 15 days after your risk free trial is shipped. If you are NOT HAPPY, they charge your account anyway without trying to resolve a dispute. I highly recommend that customers be be very wary of companies making false and mislieading claims. If I could have stopped payment to this company, I would have.

Hi-this is my complaint. First, I am also complaining about A.O.L. too, as they provided the link to this "testimonial advertisement". (If they are interested in keeping a good reputation -they really should investigate who/ what they are selling you! & I believe, if I am remembering correctly, the ad was under-their “NEWS" section! NOT a POP-UP advertisement!--AOL was seemly condoning this site as a miracle for wrinkles! Here is what happened to me:
I was browsing on-line about a week from today [3/12/2017], & my homepage is AOL & as I usually do in the morning I drink my coffee in the morning and read their "news" section-it's usually {go to AOL & see for yourself} a thing I do. They usually have 5-6 things up w/short articles about a variety of subjects from Holly-wood to the President. Usually sensational, I’ll admit…
So while browsing their "headlines” I saw there that they had a testimonial by a woman who said that she found this "cure" for wrinkles through using 2 products...so I bite, and go to the site. They offered a 14 day supply of this “pill ” & all YOU {>I never went there at all!)-So, This Bogus CO. must have received MY Acct. ILLEGALLY! NOT ONLY That, I would have NEVER AGREED TO PAY 80$[YOU GAVE THIS COMPANY YOUR DEBT CARD
#AND AFTER YOU DO THIS THEY CAN CHARGE YOU WHAT EVER THEY LIKE!”
Why would my bank allow this?is this legal? Can anyone help me, I don't know the laws-but I know I was ripped off...I know that's ILLEGAL! IS IT OKAY> by law for an INTERNET COMPANY TO CHARGE WHATEVER THEY LIKE---IF YOU GIVE THEM YOUR DEBT CARD NUMBER? WHICH I KNOW I DID NOT!
1)-I am closing my checking w/ WACHOVIA because they treated me so badly, I have already asked them for a new debit card -so that I could be sure no-one else is going to take my money. You should all cancel your checks /debt card and ask for a new number as debt cards don't have your checking acct. # on them---.but you don't want these scammers taking anymore of your $.
2) I am copying/pasting this letter to my senator at myflorida.com and to the State Consumer Affairs DEPT. of the government that deals w/ fraud.
3)-c/p this to the BBB.
Any other ideas? Please e-mail @ the address listed in bottom box above.

Nature's Acai

almost $200 charged on my debit card~

Florida
United States

I ordered the free 14 day trial of natures Acai in early feb. 2017. They charged my credit card 4.99. 15 days later I was charged $79.96. and 3 days later charged $29.95- I called to complain and someone answered the phone" Customer service line, how can I help you" The red flags went UP when I heard that! They took my name, phone # and reason for my call and then told me that someone would have to call me back. its been 2 weeks and I have gotten NO CALL BACK. I was also charged last week 89.95 AGAIN from this company. Weirdly, on my billing statement is was two different company names I was being charged from. I "googled" the one website/www.djmlifestylefit.com. It was some form of Nature's Acai. I immediately called the Bank and disputed this charge for the SECOND Time and then had to close my card and issue me a new one. Nature's acai has charged me nearly $200 and I have only received the 14 day supply of pills I never used anyway becasue it makes you go to the bathroom CONSTANTLY. I am SO aggravated and upset about this. This company should be put out if its misery!

you people are stupid. what do you think is going to happen if you give your credit card number for a free trial? i work for a credit card company, and i get so many complaints about these companies, and we can't claim any of these as fraud, because you voluntarily gave your card number out. when you sign up, you're agreeing to these charges. you can try to dispute them, but the outcome is usually negative. just change your card number, pay for your mistake, and don't do it again.

ALL OF YOU THAT CAN'T SEEM TO GET THEM TO STOP CHARGING YOUR ACCOUNT EVEN AFTER THEY TOLD YOU THEY WOULD NEED TO CANCEL YOUR CREDIT CARDS! THIS IS THE ONLY WAY FOR THE CHARGES TO STOP! IT GETS PRETTY OLD WHEN IT SEEMS EVERYONE JUST WAITS AROUND FOR THE NEXT MONTH TO SEE IF THEY HAVE CANCELED THE MEMEBERSHIP ONLY TO BE CHARGED EVEN MORE MONEY! DO YOU PEOPLE NOT REALIZE THAT THEY ARE NOT GOING TO REFUND YOU AND NOT CANCEL YOUR MEMBERSHIP! GET WITH THE TIMES!

I also have been experiencing the same thing with the trial order of Acai Berry. After using my debit card to pay the $5.95 shipping fee, my bank account was billed $88. within days of receiving my shipment. I called and cancelled the trial order and was given a confirmation number. After about 6 weeks, I was given a refund of the $88.00 but my account was then billed $29.95 by www.selfhelpff.com, which turned out to be a company called FitFactory, who is the billing company for Acai Berry.

Once they have your bank account or credit card number, the false charges don't stop.
This is a rip off company.
I have written to Oprah's website asking her and Dr. OZ to stop pushing this stuff, but have gotten no response.

"FREE BOTTLE OF NATURES ACAI BERRY SUPPLEMENT JUST PAY 4.95 SHIPPING AND HANDLING FEE" This is what the add says then 14 days later you get billed the full price of the product $79.96. Does this sound free? This is the biggest Scam on the internet. not only are they deceptive about their billing practices but also about how amazing their crappy product is. I called up my credit card company who before i could finish saying the name NATURES ACAI BERRY they had already known who i was talking about. they were very helpful about removing the fraudulant charges from my account. BEWARE! IF THEY ARE ASKING FOR YOUR CREDIT CARD FOR SOMETHING THAT IS SUPPOSEDLY FREE THEN PROBABLY YOU WILL GET BURNED JUST LIKE THE REST OF US.

Complaint Rating:
i ordered a trial period of the natures acai berry because there were such great reviews about the product and low and behold i ws scammed for 85.00. i called and cancelled the product within the 15 day period and the representative told me that i would not be charged because i had called within the 15 day trial period and i my cc was charged. as soon as i recd my cc bill i called a respresentative of the company and was told there was nothing i could do and that the charge remains b/c i had not stopped the processing within the time period. i have now reportd them to the better business bureau as well as disputed the payment with the credit card co.

I got sucked in too. What 's worse? I cannot have caffeine and when you look on the back of the bottle it warns you that the product has about as much caffeine as a cup of coffee! That was not on the ad I saw or I would never have sent for it. I just got my bank statement and there it was a charge of $79.96. I am on a limited income and that amount hurt. I went to my bank. Signed affidavits and closed that account. I will also report them to the BBB. In this day and age, with the economy as bad as it is, you should be able to trust somebody out there! Guess not. Lesson learned.

This is a total scam operation. There was no agreement for the 3 different programs when I signed up for the $4.99 S&H "free trial", and like others, I've been hit with not one, but two $79 charges! Many are getting ripped off and there is no way I'd put anything in my body from a company that has to make money by scamming. PLEASE...SOMEBODY, LET'S GET A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST THESE AHOLES. My credit card company wasn't too helpful so it looks like if I get one more charge, I'll be canceling my card. I finally did get 3 cancellation codes for each of the programs by calling [protected]. The lady spoke extremely poor English and after asking her to repeat herself several times, this beotch had the audacity to tell me THAT IF I DIDN'T COOPERATE WITH HER SHE WAS GOING TO HANG UP! I will monitor this forum to see if any legal action is being taken.

I had the same situation only mine said I had 30 days to cancel and and shipping was 1.99(it had not been 30 days).I found charges on card and called numbers. One was no longer in service and the other I had to ask the woman to repeat her words over and over again. After I threatend legal action she told me to wait while she reversed the charges she laid the phone down I heard her laughing in the background. Then she gave me some canselation codes but from reading on here they are most likely fake and I will have to cancel my card to stop new charges
Oprah's site sayes they are taking legal action against sites that say she endorsed thier product don't know about Rachel Ray.

I thought when I did this it was a mistake I should have listened to my better judgement. I just kept seeing the ads on reputable websites and let my guard down.

The 12 steps of "ACAI BERRY "

1) If you order this crap, you will be robbed.
2) There is fine print telling you that you will be charged (robbed) if you don't call and cancel before 15 days.
3) You don't receive the "FREE" trial before your 15 days so you don't get to try it first.
4) Then you do try it, and guess what? It does nothing!
5) So now you call the number that they give you, and you can't get a person.
6) When you look at your bank account online you notice an $80.00 charge and a phone number.
7) You call the number, and now you can talk to a person. You tell the person to stop steeling money from your account.
8) They tell you that they will stop, and they will send you an email with a conformation number.
9) Of course you never get the email, and you get another $80.00 charge.
10) Repete steps 6 thrue 9 about two more times.
11) Finally you will get them to stop.
12) Get ready for the hidden charges to start from the "online services" that you didn't know you signed up for.

I know as adults, and responsible consumers, we are all responsible for our actions and purchases. But it's very sad when we can't trust anyone to not word something in a manner that gives them the right to mislead us. They have no shame or morals, but they do have alot of money thanks to the victoms they fooled.
