People who use tricks!I went with my wife shopping at *** Bay, and they were running a 3-days promotion: apply for the Neo MC, and you would get $50 off for purchase over $100. The sales lady convinced me to apply and said it would be approved in a few minutes. As an ex-*** Bay MC owner, with a TransUnion score of 791, I thought I should have no problem. But after spending the time to send in the applicatioin, we got an "under review" note, and I was told to check my email for the result. As I have suspected, I got approved 2 days later and sure enough the "promotion" was over. They just tricked me into applying for this MC.Of course you can say: "Don't use it". And yes, this is exactly what I am going to do.

I filled out the application thinking I would have the option on which card I was choosing. Turns out the application automatically goes from a soft pull to a hard pull. I knew I wouldn't be approved for the regular card which is why I wanted the secured. Now they are doing a hard pull on my credit for a card I won't get. Very frustrating and not user friendly. They really should ask for confirmation if you wish to proceed to a hard pull(as those who want to rebuild credit don't usually want unnecessary hard pulls). Very annoyed and not happy as a potential customer.
Credit card agreements on their website are very difficult to read. It is impossible for me to resize it in the browser. Their support team is not very helpful.
I am NOT happy at all with this credit card. There minimum payment is very high for a *** credit limit. ***! And they never apply a double payment on the next due date. They should be more flexible, if they want customers. Like I said, ***! I can't speak for the prior reviews, but I love my Neo account. It gives me more control for my account than my other bank, I never have to call in because everything is at my fingertips with the App, and I can see my cashback from my purchases within a day of a purchase. I love that I don't get hit with unexpected fees that I've experienced with other banks, that I can view all my transactions in my account online and setup custom notifications for my account with regards to cashback, purchases, payments and statements that fits my liking. I would say Neo is a bank for those who are technologically inclined and that might be difficult for those who are used to other issuers.
Very poor service. I had an "*** direct deposit payment go into my NEO money account and they placed a 5 day hold on it. Stated it was Blue Cross's fault for coding it as a miscellaneous payment on their end. As a customer I do not know the coding but I do know that Government benefits are not to be held. The customer service rep asked how they were suppose to know it is government. My response was that it is ***. They have held the funds for 5 days which is absurd as it was not a cheque it was directly deposited into the account. I have spoken to approx 10 people and not one of them can release the funds which is absurd. One of the representatives was very apologetic and said that I was his 4th customer that day with this issue but, no way to release it. Holding funds that are already there is irresponsible of a company and puts their customers in difficult situations. Never deal with this company! If i could leave a zero star I would have.

Contacted Neo Support with the full details. Support responded that since I "confirmed the charge is genuine" despite not having received the goods, they cannot reverse the charge. I'm utterly dumbfounded by there being ZERO Customer security and why they can't help. Closed my account, will pay off the balance excluding the disputed charges. So much for what was turning out to be a good thing. Will escalate this to a higher dispute should the need arise. In the meantime, I would advise people to steer clear of their easy-to-obtain "credit" cards... be warned: you have NO consumer protection from them. NONE.
They market their MC as being oh so modern, but instead I am encountering inconvenience after inconvenience. I cannot connect it to my QBO banking. I cannot set up auto-pay because to do so they force me to open a banking account I don't want. *** really should have done more research in choosing their new MC. Terrible I want the hold off my card I feel like this company is holding my money and I will not see it again. Have rented multiple cars within the past 3-6 months and this company has held my money the longest. They are not helpful, rude and HORRENOUS customer service.
Abominable! I applied for the card only because *** has switched to *** as their credit card holder. It was ridiculous from minute one: applying online was near impossible, it had to be done in person, the process was extremely arduous and time consuming, none of my info such as password or PIN number coordinated with my still existing *** account, getting technical help takes a very long time, I could go on. Now, I have to jump through multiple hoops only to pay for the first purchase that I made with this card. Once this is done, I will promptly close this account.

Please avoid at all costs! 0/10 *** I got this card from *** bay because of the rewards. There were issues from the beginning and in every step of the way. I could not login, could not reset my password and prompted to contact their non existent customer service. I called 4 times over the course of a week, every time I am put on hold for 2+ hours and then disconnected. I have yet to speak to a costumer service rep. I cannot pay my first and only ***. I went to the store to resolve this issue and make a payment, but was told I had to call costumer service. There is no costumer service, they do not have anyone to answer your calls! This is my 5th day trying to get a hold of them for service. I will be cancelling my card at the first chance I get. Please avoid neo, it is not worth the headache, or your valuable time. I canceled it within one day Neo Financial charged me $101.50 for cancellation as foreign exchange even though Booking.com and Merchant charged nothing It was a free cancellation from merchant and ***. I reset the password and logged on and found an empty account with just my email and cell number in the profile. It's obvious the account was created by the company itself. So much for privacy. There is no functionality to delete the account or to delete the email address and phone number. There is no name or address field in the profile. And there is no unsubscribe link in the email notification. If this is a reputable site why doesn't the account profile have a name and address field? Why aren't security questions set up? Why does the verification code only go to the email address (which can't be changed)? Why is there no financial advisor listed? It seems legit from what I see online, but something feels off.

In this time, I've made countless phone calls that never get answered, their callback system does not work, I have sent multiple emails to them with the promise that they will be answered within 48 hours, but never once heard back. They have all my credit card information, but I have not received my new card in the mail after a month and a half, with my current old card being completely deactivated. I have last month's balance on my old card that has been paid but it says on my Neo account that I'm still owing this amount, I can't even address that because I can't contact the company! Brought up my issues with a lovely *** employee at one of their stores in ***, and not even they could connect to Neo Financial! Upon looking at ComplaintsBoard.com and a quick investigation, the address they have posted here is ***! What the *** is going on?! "

I am so fed up with Neo Financial! I took out a *** Bay credit card recently and now want to cancel it. I've tried twice to get through and the wait times are ridiculous and both times I got disconnected. I absolutely would "not" deal with Neo Financial
I absolutely would "not" deal with Neo Financial. In late 2021 I made a purchase at *** and paid for it using my *** credit card. Once I received the *** invoice I paid it in full prior to the due date as usual. Early in 2022, I started to receive ongoing phone calls from a Collection Agency asking me to pay my *** bill which is now overdue. In error I thought at the time I forgot to pay my bill. As it turns out, Neo Financial launched the Collection Agency to come after me for a charge I already paid "and" did not make on their credit card. To protect my credit rating and stop the phone calls, I regretfully paid Neo Financial my original purchase amount "plus interest". I now have to go through my bank to somehow get a debit from *** for the original amount paid. To be honest, I have no idea how Neo Financial is legally able to go after *** customers for purchases made and paid using another company's credit card. I truly hope this Neo Financial practice gets stopped by some Canadian regulatory body so others don't have to go through a similar frustration.

Liars. I applied for Neo Financial credit card after a previous partnership ended. I was promised a promotion of 15% off on first-day purchases and 5000 bonus points. Upon calling, they said I'd get the points after 10 days of a first purchase. I bought something from Hudson Bay online, but when I tried to buy more, the discount didn't apply. I stopped the purchase. Three weeks later, no points were added. Customer service now claims the points were for a second purchase made 10 days later, which was never mentioned initially. I'm canceling the card due to these unethical marketing tactics. Better to choose a different card than Neo to avoid such deception.

I went to my bank account to set neo up as a payee like many others I have. Neo was not to be found in the list of companies. I contacted my credit union and asked to have them added only to be told that neo did not want to be a payee with them. I was told that what neo wants is for credit card users to set up chequing accounts with them to pay the card with. I was very taken aback by that! I tried to contact neo on line and after several days of no reply and my payment date nearing I sent a cheque and my cut up credit card along with a letter to them. I stated that I felt their marketing method was heavy handed and coversieve, that i would not sucumb to their tacticts not now, now ever. I did receive a reply by email a few days later saying they were very sorry to hear that I had cut up the card.I don't know if what they are doing is legal or not but I would encourage everyone to think several times before starting a relationship with this institution. I'm sorry to say I am not impressed with Neo Financial, a subpar company. I opened a new account at the Bay as my old card had expired and I was to receive my new card in the mail, but it never arrived! Neo emailed me a bill well before the due date and warned that non-payment could damage my credit. I called them, waited for hours to speak to someone, and explained that I hadn't received the card. They refused to provide the account number for payment. I questioned the activation of a card I never got, noting their security seemed lax. After a lengthy call, they promised a callback the next morning, which never came. I agreed to pay the owed amount but not the late fees, yet they didn't honor that. Despite multiple emails, there's been no resolution. They've sent another bill with late fees, and I've again requested just an account number to settle the debt. They promised a replacement card, but I've yet to receive it. Their customer service is appalling, and it's baffling how a financial institution can issue a credit card without providing the account number, which even their team member couldn't supply.

As a long-time HBC Master Card user, I cherished earning double points. Initially skeptical about the new company, I considered rejoining before Christmas for the rewards. Attempting to sign up last week, I found the process confusing and customer service unresponsive after hours on hold and no returned calls or emails. When I finally got through, the agent was helpful, but I learned the card functions more like a prepaid debit card, requiring funds in advance, which doesn't suit me. I'm currently on hold, intending to cancel and inform HBC of my decision to take my business elsewhere due to this misleading experience.

How they can't unfreeze my account and how they blocked my number
I have been trying to unfreeze my account for 4months now. I called them 100 times. Everytime I call them I get held on the phone for 4 hours and have no reply and when they say they will call you back they never call you back. The last week I finally get a call back saying they are going to talk to manager and help unfreeze the account and call me back. Now they block my phone number so I can't contact them. This is the worst bank I have ever delt with

For nearly 2 months now, I have been unable to access "finish application:...I am constantly sent to "somethings wrong" try again. I have sent probably a dozen emails , telling staff about this issue. I have 'tried again" many times, and can't access the rest of my application.. What to do? I need a card!
I have Consolidated Credit in Canada paying my credit card payments,,,,even tho I had good credit before, now I do not! There seems to be no one working in their customer service call centre. I cannot login to their site because there is a verification code being sent to a landline phone number. So this needs to be resolved by an agent, not a bot.
After calling in numerous times these two days, I have yet to speak to anyone. Either the call goes unanswered, with me on hold for 2.5 hours, or I leave my number for a call-back that never happens.
I sent a service request to the email for Neo Financial on this site. I received back an automated bot response, just telling me to login to change my phone number. This is obviously not helpful.

Hi I m Benzo Philip I opened my account in NEO in Square one mall in a kiosk through an agent .I asked the agent regarding the procedure to open the account he guided me to open an account , While doing he just took Control of my phone and transferred the 50 Dollar to the free gift for opening account to his name and deleted the sms from my sms and emails . I reset the password and logged on and found an empty account with just my email and cell number in the profile. It's obvious the account was created by the company itself. So much for privacy. There is no functionality to delete the account or to delete the email address and phone number. There is no name or address field in the profile. And there is no unsubscribe link in the email notification. If this is a reputable site why doesn't the account profile have a name and address field? Why aren't security questions set up? Why does the verification code only go to the email address (which can't be changed)? Why is there no financial advisor listed? It seems legit from what I see online, but something feels off.
