Date, time and country of the incident: 27/8/23 - 9.20 am - Turkey
On 26/8/23 I was contacted on WhatsApp with a message from a lady in UK. She said, they were doing market research to help the tourism industry in Turkey, that they had 2 simple market research and 1 subscription follow-up task and asked if I wanted to participate. As I was checking the subscription follow-up task, I found out that it was Nielsen and felt relieved since it is a reputable company. After completing both, she asked me to provide my bank details to receive a small gesture payment. I did and received the payment. She reassured me that their company was legal, and I didn't need to worry. She later asked if I would be interested to request further missions. I agreed. She then referred me to their receptionist available on Telegram (app). She added that the receptionist would also show me additional ways to increase my income. I contacted the receptionist who added me to their work group and kindly assisted me. I did some YouTube subscription jobs and earned symbolic amounts of money within a few hours and got the impression that she was reliable employee. She then suggested, I should try a crypto currency job by depositing a certain amount that would bring profit in little time. Trusting her, I decided to try and soon received my deposit back along with a small profit. In the morning of 27/8/23, after completing another subscription job, the receptionist suggested, I should do crypto currency purchases she had me try the day before. She directed me to another work group, and I had to choose the amount that I wanted to invest, again by putting a deposit. I did that but surprisingly they asked me to make 2-3 more purchases where you are required to buy higher amounts against higher deposits. I did not want to do that since I had very little money left in my account and said I wanted to quit. She and a so called "teacher" conducting that task group, said it was impossible to quit without completing the remaining crypto purchases. I explained to them both that it was impossible for me to do so and asked them to return the deposit I had paid without any profit. The receptionist insisted that it was impossible to return mt deposit unless I completed the remaining purchases. I tried every possible way to make her understand that I could not to that, but it did not bring any solution.
Desired outcome: I kindly ask the company to return the deposit that I paid. It is not a lot of money, but it is very important for me as a principal. Thank you. Aydin Erisen, Mugla/Turkey [protected]@gmail.com, Cell +[protected]
