train schedule
I was at the Rahway station today 9/4/13 and the 8:51 am train left early! I can't tell you how annoying it is to be at the train station early only to find out that the train is gone! Myself and many others were left stranded at the station! Furthermore, the 8:54 am express train - NEVER SHOWED UP! The next train that came to the station was the 9:21 local train! -- After raising the fair over 80% the least you could do is run the train schedule properly! - too often trains are leaving early and too often others are not showing up! - I've never filed a complaint before BUT this is getting crazy! -EVERY DAY! it's something new -- and someone needs to be fired! Moreover, they need to go back and reduce the fair -- the train wasn't worth the money we were paying before, and it sure isn't worth what we're paying now!

riverline returning from concert
The ride home from the XTU Concert on June 30th was the most ridiculous thing I have ever been through. I was told that the riverline ran late when there was a concert when I called your customer service line, when I asked atleast 3 cops on the way there and when I asked a cop before we got on the train to leave. When we were kicked off the train in Pennsauken we were there for 3 hours waiting for a bus to take us home. The transit police did not keep the line to get on the bus very organized allowing people that got off the train after my group get on a bus before us which really upset our group of 15 including 5 children. I cannot believe that this occurs and I think that it should definitely be looked into to allow the riverline to run late on nights of concerts. We want to prevent people from driving drunk but this does not make it easy just very aggravating. Especially aggravating that no authority figure knows what is going on and is providing people with false information.

The Burlington County River Line is a disgrace. I took it from Burlington South Station to Trenton and back on Friday, July 13 at approximately 6:30 p.m. The car itself was dirty and the few people that were on it were drugged, drunk or loud, profane and rude. Not one transportation officer was on the train to check tickets, either going to Trenton or coming home. Very few people appeared to buy the (very reasonably priced) tickets.
I used the River Line many times years ago with my grandchildren and we all enjoyed it. It was a good way to travel. Not any more. You are losing the paying customers who are the backbone of any transit system. I'm sorry to say that I will never use it again due to the deplorable conditions.
abusive conductor
A NJ Transit conductor on the 9:32AM train from Denver to NYC asked me for my ticket after a previous conductor took the ticket at the beginning of the ride. After he demanded my ticket, I told him to see the first conductor that took the ticket about 15 minutes prior. I told him again to see the other conductor that took my ticket. At this point he began an loud outburst and told that I shouldn't tell him what to do. After the train reached Penn I went looking for this guy. I found him and told him that I would be submitting a complaint about him for his rude and abusive treatment. At that point he exploded, as if it was his right to scream at a customer, and told me that I was a lier for not having a ticket and saying that I did have a ticket. He continued to explode at this point when I told him that the other conductor, who was now at his side, took the ticket. I told him he had big problems and that I would be making sure to report him. I also told him that NJ Transit and I am a customer, not an inmate.

worst service on the planet
What are we? A herd of cattle? Waited 45 minutes for a bus home last night. Waited 31 minutes for a bus this morning. Where are all of the buses? Why is it OK that buses just do not show up? Who is running this circus? We are people, not animals. Show us the respect we deserve and provide us with the service that is owed to us. We give you money, you give us service. It's more like we give you money, and you're laughing all the way to the bank with it. Where's your end of the bargain?
Right, except they let us stand in the freezing rain without a shelter instead.
stopping the bus
This is just unbelievable. On October 22 2012. The bus driver of bus # 29 didn't stop her bus even me and other 2 customers waved at her. She saw us but didn't stop the bus. We had to run after the bus because that was last bus for the day from Newark to Parsippany on 6:00 pm. Even after running, she didn't bother to stop the bus. If this kept going on then I have to talk to some government official about this I swear to god.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Yeah, I used to be a bus driver. Unfortunately, most bus drivers who have been driving for years consider thier last bus run for the day to be all "drop offs". Ive worked with a lot of drivers who would never pick up anyone on their last run.
The bad thing is, the company doesnt care, the city doesnt care, and the government claims "no involvement".
So, you can complain all you want, but like complaining about lazy, good for nothing police...there isnt much anybody is gonna do about it.

bypass passengers at night
My name is amber . Today at 945pm i waited for the nj transit bus to come at 1015pm as its scheduled stop... well mind you it was thundering and lighting. And i was soak and wet. Not only the bus was 14 mins late. When i gave the driver to the 20 after to show up... i said for get it the bus aint gonna come its downpouring!... i cross the gloucester pike in barrington and next thing u know the 455 is right at the red light... i got a white t shirt on and the driver stares forward like he's tunnel visioned ! ... never looks my way nor stops to see if im there. Drives right by me. Mind you he knew i was at the stop cuz he saw me when i was there at 945 when he was at gloucester pike going towards cherry hill. But for one ur drivers need to use there high beams for the stops to see better and to engage in a safe ride home ... mind u i never made it home cuz it was the last bus im drenched in water . Nj transit drivers of 455 cherry hill paulsboro needs better routine evaluation.

rude conductor
I was riding on the 6:54 ne corridor line from ny Penn station on Sunday, Apr 15. When the conductor ( 30-40 yr old slender man with straight dark hair that touched his collar) took my ticket he said, "We don't go to Princeton Junction and threw the ticket back at me".
I then asked "should I change at Newark?".. Then he said "Change where ever you want".
Really discourteous and very uncalled for.

train 3719
The customer service for NJ Transit is horrible. An employee on train 3719 was very rude and had me put off the train. This employee is unable to listen to customers and should be repremanded. Nj transit employees are not consistent as far as collecting tickets and giving correct prices on them.
I also had an incident on a NJ transit train last night (11/1/11) and was told to get off the train - even though I had a valid ticket for travel and had done nothing wrong. I am curious if the same employee was involved. I filed a Complaint by telephone and on the NJ Transit website. My employer also called to complain about how I was treated as my train tickets are purchased by my employer. As of now I have not had any type of response from anyone at Transit.
bus service
Service on the 163 local and express buses (and 162 Express) from Port Authority in NYC to New Jersey is atrocious. In June 2011, the service started to become truly abysmal, with delays of at least 30 minutes per evening, and long sweaty lines of commuters with no AC to make the wait more bearable. For the past few weeks, things have deteriorated even further. Since returning commuters back to Gate 224 (which they said was to improve service and conditions), things are worse than ever. For example, my husband and I waited an entire hour last night for a bus, and that is now becoming the norm! 30 minutes to 1 hour waits each night. In addition, the waiting area at Gate 224 is filthy. There are large yellow trash buckets filled with unemptied garbage and there is never a presence of NJ transit workers to ask what the problem is or how much longer we can expect to wait. My question is: can it get any worse?
That's true. After getting hit by Hurricane Irene and getting 4 feet of water in our basement, nothing surprises me.
The lower level gates of port authority nj transit are dangerous and unsafe. Due to late bus arrivals thousand of people jam into a small area making it impossible to get out if an emergency had occurred. It is difficult just to get around and at time people were flat out unable to move. A pregnant woman almost fainted.
bus crashed into my car
An NJ Transit bus hit my car while making a turn on April 17, 2011. How should i recover my deductible from NJ Transit?
It was Bus Driver's fault. I was totally stopped on a red light. The bus came from my right side and turned towards me and while turning it hit my car. My car's side view mirror (on the driver side) and the bumber got damaged. I have claimed it from NJ DOT but they said i should contact NJ Transit. But i dont know the mailing address where i should send the claim letter to.

fellow passenger rude and refused to make seat available
Today April 6th 2011 I got the train to NYC Penn station, from New Brunswick at 10.18A.M the train was very crowded, so I saw a vacant seat and asked if I could sit there first the two african american women sitting there pretended they did'nt hear me then they let me sit, and then they were talking among themselves that I could have picked somewhere else to sit, why not on their right or front, but then one of them actually turned to me and said why I picked that spot why I could'nt pick some where else to sit, so I said if there is seat I can sit anywhere and what if the other person asked me the same question, anyway after two or three times of bullying like this I could'nt take it and got up and screamed at them that I don't know why they are so annoyed that I sat next to them, and left, on my way to the next compartment I noticed the conductor and told him that these two women don't want to make the third seat available to me, so he came with me and asked them to make the seat available, upon which these women said well she left on her own! actually I explained I did'nt leave on my own I only left because of their badgering, since I was only reacting to her when she said that and immedietely the conductor said that he will send me out of the train if I don't sit right then, as I was creating a scene, well I would'nt have created a scene if not for these rude entitled women who thought they could sit in a three seater row and not share a seat with someone and asked me why don't I go somewhere else!
so I felt the conductor was not being friendly to me when I was the victim here, well anyway hope those women had a really bad day! thats all I can wish for I guess hope people like that will get what they deserveAnd may be the conductor himself being an african American did'nt think I was a victim or even deserved a chance to explain! why I had to leave my seat and go looking for him if those women had left me in peace I would have gone about my business too...
response to Zachery why should I left them alone I was making a point if not me someone would have taken the seat they don't own the train I would have left them alone I was trying to complaint to the conductor what they were doing to me after I sat next to them, but he just made me sit there meaning well you got you seat now shut up!

bus 507 running before schedule time
Bus 507 between Ocean City & Atlantic City runs before scheduled time by about 10-15 minutes.
To day 5: 29 time at Shore and Essex Ave, I drop someone at 5:14 PM and still bus did not arrive.
Last week also 6:07 and 7: 09 bus did not arrive from 10 -12 minuutes waiting. Previously also
had similar incident. Do we need to go 30 minutes earlier to get bus? So, then what is the use of bus.

Similar complaint about the last bus 986 from Summit this morning, scheduled to leave at 9:14. I arrived at 9:12, while the bus driver was trying to leave. I pointed out that he was leaving early; he claimed that his analog watch said it was 9:14. I double-checked my iPhone clock, set via the network, and asked all the passengers if any of their phones disagreed; none did. (AT&T does not always have accurate time, but its alarm was within a second of my home computer's this morning, and I just checked it against my internet provider's time, which also agreed to within a second.) The driver still insisted on leaving at 9:13; I took a phone from the bus, with timestamp 9:13 and a GPS fix, if anyone is interested.
9/28 - route 192 - 3:10 to nyc
Today, I was waiting for to 3:10 PM, route 192 bus from Clifton, NJ to NYC and it started pouring down rain. Of course I no umbrella and had to stand there, getting soaked for almost 20 minutes. I always get to my stop a bit early, just in case, but on top of this, my bus was 10 minutes late. When bus 8308 finally came, I jumped on, dripping, and told the driver that I would be right back with my ticket, as I had a suit case & bag and I had put my ticket in my pocket to keep it from getting wet. Not even 2 seconds later I handed the driver my ticket and he began to lecture me, as if I were a child, about how I should have had my ticket in my hand before I boarded the bus and how selfish I was because I was causing the bus to be late for everyone! I was stunned! Did he not see that I had been waiting for his 10 minute late bus in a rain storm!?! I was the first stop! Where was he for the last 10 minutes? He kept on ranting about this and I just had to ignore him and go back to a seat far from the front. Seriously, I don't need to be blamed by some A-Hole for his being late, which was obviously the case because he did the to several other people along the line. I did not need this today, I'm soaked to the bone and I sure as hell didn't do anything wrong. This guy is a bus driver employed by NJT, he does not own this bus, and he has no place taking out his buisness on his passengers!
bus driver
The bus driver Mr. E. Brown, drives the #457 leaving the Moorestown Mall in NJ at 4:06PM due to arrive in Camden transportation center at 5:29PM. Since he has this route he has not let me off at the transportation at 5:29PM. He has been late everyday. Everyday that he has the route he has been late. I'm talking about 15-25 minutes late every day. He doesn't...

Last week I was aboard nj transit rail service conductor tells my friend (Which is black) that he probably spent his whole life in prison, then my friend tell the conductor to go "f" himself. The conductor has the nerves to call nj transit police and have him and me both removed from the train. Today the same conductor did not let me on the train I ask him why he reply "since your friend wants to tell me to go"f" myself you cannot board this train then he calls nj police again and tells then I kicked the train window. This conductor identification number is 9495 on the new york bound rail service. This conductor is very very rude with people so now I got the chance to report him.

delayed trains serious problem
After increasing 25% of the train fair NJ transit train services between Trenton and New york pennstation has become worst. Every day train is delayed either going to NY in the morning or going back to home in the evening.
Yesterday(07-07-2010) was funny, I usually take 5:54PM in the evening. It was delayed as usually. It started at 6:15PM and then after it crossed North Elizabeth they announced that some train broke on the same track in front. So train came to halt. after about 30 min they as usually announced that they apologize for delay and most funny thing was that the train will be going back on track to North Elizabeth and take another track. then again another 30 min gone. again it started going forward. then after some more time it went back again. It stopped again then it started going forward. NJ transit web site shows that 5:54PM will reach Metro Park station by 6:30PM. Yesterday(07-07-2010) it reached at 7:22PM.
In winter people can understand if it is snowing. what about summer. What is wrong. where is it wrong. where can i get some answers for this. Is people hard earned money that they take is to cheap for NJ transit. When we commit some one that we will reach at certain time we are made to look like fools by NJ transit.
8$ per one way was ok, now it's 10$ per one way (Metro Park to New York Penn Station.)
My company doesn't care when did i reach home, when did I eat, when did i sleep. They expect me to be on time next day morning. Is it because only this travel service available that they do what ever they want.
I would be most happy person to know if there are any other travel services from Metro Park to NY.
horrible, horrible bus service
Ever since the fares went up, NJ Transit so-called "service" on the 62 bus line has dropped shamefully. This is in no doubt because of the Republican Governor who thinks poor people who have to rely on public transportation should pay more for less. I am referring in particular to Wednesday, 30 June, when I arrived at Newark Penn Station at 12:40 PM and...
Read full review of NJ Transit and 4 commentsreckless driving and tailgating
To whom it may concern,
My wife and I was returning from Philly, Pennsylvania and I was taking the New Jersey Turnpike to up North to Jersey City, NJ on 2010/06/23 12:30pm. A NJ Transit Contractor like vehicle, license plate number XN3390, was speeding well beyond the speed limit, driving recklessly, tailgating, and causing disturbance to traffic flow on NJ Tunrpike between exits 8 and 9.
I was very uncomfortable to go past the speed limit to avoid and head away from his ignorance.
I am very very upset about this situation and the terrible quality of driving this individual has caused me and my wife. Which I am most surprised that NJ Transit hired this reckless driver. Worst of all, I never expected an NJ Transit employee would attack other drivers as well, which is very shocking to me. I, my family, and my friends will no longer feel safe while riding the turnpike as long as this employee is still involved in working for NJ Transit. Therefore I'm asking NJ Transit to promptly investigate into this matter on behalf of myself and my wife, and also on behalf of your company and your employees.
In closing, I hope NJ Transit will resolve the matter to my fullest satisfaction. I will also reserve the right to further pursue this situation in a lawful manner until I feel this matter is fully resolved.

NJ Government 911 Emergency Vehicle SG32737 - Driving in the Area of Trenton New Jersey Complaint Regarding Reckless Driving
Back in 1995 a NJ Transit bus driver closed my left for arm and right wrist in the door while I was putting my 2 year old child on the bus. My son was on the bus as I was holding him and I am standing outside while the door closes up on me. The driver was looking ahead as I am screaming opening the door. If it was not for a citizen jumped in front of the bus telling the bus driver to open the door he would had dragged me to my demise. Until this day I suffer for pain were my four arms and wrist was damage by the bus driver. I compliant to NJ Transit and they did not do anything to the bus driver. On July 18, 2012 a bus driver approached my son Deshon Johnson where he stood at the sidewalk of the handicap curb. He knocked my son down then dragged him 50 to 100 feet to his death in Bloomfield NJ on Broad and Bay. NJ Transit did not do anything but help Essex County Prosecutor detective vehicular homicide to cover up my son’s death. They gave the driver back his commercial driver license back the same day. The driver was a Community Coach USA bus driver operating NJ Transit bus 709. They also cover up my neighbor daughter death January 26, 2012 in East Orange on South Harrison. The young lady Christine Noble was taken her 3 year old son to day care as the bus driver run her over. The bus company claim she jumped out in the street with her son. Once again nothing happen to the bus driver she is still living her life as for my son and neighbor daughter we are suffering with great pain as both victims killer is enjoy life. These bus companies will not do a damn thing. They deem all these bus death cases as accidents for the sack of less paper work and liability to the company. Essex County Prosecutor Detective in Vehicular Homicide for the bus companies in conspiracy with the people who work for NJ Transit. You have some clueless people saying that these deaths are mistakes; which are not a correct label for human lives that are taken. A mistake you can erase then correct but with human lives there are no correction. You only get one life. I can see if these drivers have underline heath conditions like, heart attacks, seizures, strokes etc that they have no control of it will be a little more comprehensive to the victims love ones. When the drivers are driving in a reckless manner it is not acceptable because we have control of our driving as a license driver.
You can Google the victims name and read their story or go on Youtube. The bus companies do not want me to talk about what happen because they want it to all go away. It will never go way because my son is dead. NJ Transit companies do not give a damn about human lives they only care about money they generate.
The companies’ actions are saying who cares about the people and give me their money. These bus companies need to be boycott and make these companies stop harboring reckless bus drivers who are killers/murders. Please go to this link to read about more victims https://www.change.org/p/stop-reckless-aggressive-and-rude-bus-drivers-from-carelessly-taking-young-innocent-lives-like-deshon-johnson

we need better people
well trained
On January 31 I visited the NJ Transit website to obtain train schedule information. This sit has banner advertising and I support it's use to help defray NJT expenses. But this one should not be there. It says "View critical messages". I thought I would find NJT cancellations, train issues etc. Nope - This was simply an advertisement. Next time I see a real NJT critical message I will not want to click on it. This kind of advertising should not be allowed.
