I bought my 2020 Corolla in for it's first service
I bought my 2020 Corolla in for it's first service. *** was very very polite and efficient. My car was taken care of in a timely fashion. This is my second Toyota purchased from Norm Reeves Toyota. I would recommend both service and sales.
Service Dept
Service Dept. Broke a wire on my AC assembly. They said it was frayed and needed repair. It was working great before I took it in. They broke it while doing the timing belt. They denied it and wanted me to pay for the entire AC assembly. After proving they broke it, they fixed only the AC clutch. These guys are so shady. The mechanics lie, Q Holt, the unfriendly service agent, and the money-grabbing service manager. They've lost a customer who has been loyal for 15 years with two Toyota's.
On May 31st, I saw an ad on OfferUp for a new Tacoma priced at $40,901 from Norm Reeves Toyota
On May 31st, I saw an ad on OfferUp for a new Tacoma priced at $40,901 from Norm Reeves Toyota. I decided to check their website and found the same truck listed there. I sent an online inquiry and they informed me that the truck had just arrived that morning and suggested I visit the dealership to see it. Ashley Arlington sent me a specs sheet that matched the details in the OfferUp ad and provided additional information about extra packages.
So, I went to the dealership and saw that the truck was still wrapped up, with a sticker on the car displaying a price of $40,901. However, I noticed that the second sticker on the right side had been torn off. When I asked about it, she claimed she didn't know how it happened. She also mentioned that there was an additional $75 added to the price.
Once we returned to her office, I was shocked to learn that the final price for the truck, including all fees, would be around $55,000. I questioned this sudden increase, and they admitted to adding $7,500 to the original price, which should have been indicated on the torn-off sticker. It felt like a bait and switch tactic to lure me into the dealership. What a scam!
I had a accident in May
I had a accident in May . I took my car to Norm Reeves Toyota collision center and it's been almost 2 months and my car still ain't fixed. Every week Toyota keeps changing the date when it'll be ready. I get they gotta order parts, but why's it takin' so dang long? They keep pushin' back the date for when my car will be repaired. You'd think since it's been in their shop for so long, they'd prioritize it. I don't recommend 'em for collision based on this experience. I ain't happy with how long it's takin' for the repairs. Every time I talk to someone, they just say it's takin' so long 'cause of how much damage there is. They give me a timeline of a week and a half more. I never had to wait this long for repairs in my past accidents. I wanna believe they're tryin' to do their best work, but I wish they could do it faster.
Don't trust this place for phone or email dealings!
Don't trust this place for phone or email dealings! Greg ("Coach") and Muhammed lied to me! Not reputable! I've been searching for a RAV4 hybrid, which is hard to find. I'm in the Navy and go to work every day as an essential employee, so I'm cautious about exposing others to COVID. This dealership lied to me twice about a simple test drive. First, they told me to come in, but magically didn't have a hybrid. They insulted me by saying a regular model drives the same. Really? This morning, they apologized and said they had one for a test drive. When I arrived, they said the car hadn't passed inspection and couldn't be driven! But I could LOOK at it. If a company can't be honest about a test drive, they're not worth your business! Glad they didn't take advantage of me more!
I bought a car from Norm Reeves Toyota San Diego about a year ago, but unfortunately, it broke down shortly after
I bought a car from Norm Reeves Toyota San Diego about a year ago, but unfortunately, it broke down shortly after. I had to spend a lot of money on repairs, and even after multiple attempts, the car kept breaking down. The mechanics were kind and honest, advising me to let go of the car as fixing it would cost more than getting another used car. I reached out to the dealership for help, but I was passed around and told to fill out another credit application. Due to financial constraints and the impact of COVID-19, I couldn't afford another car. Eventually, the car was repossessed, and now it's on my credit report. I have to pay it back, which is disappointing. I've learned my lesson to be more careful when choosing used cars. I'm not angry at the dealership, but I wish they had shown more compassion and made more effort to assist me in this situation.
Where do I start!
Where do I start! There is absolutely NO communication here. We had our Catalytic Converter stolen off of our Prius. State Farm had it towed to Norm Reeves Toyota. It sat for 2 days before I finally called and here's where the run around begins. You're told, it's with the service department so you get a voicemail box that's full. Then you call back to be told it's with the body shop and again, the voicemail box is full. Then you start to get mad and finally speak to someone named Virginia to be told, she'll have someone call me. Again, no one calls. 3 days go by with NO communication. Then Virginia calls and says, she'll be handling the issue. I said to her, you told me you weren't the correct person to talk to. She says, she never call me in the first place. It ends up at the body shop and again, no communication. Then, someone named Javier calls and says it at the service department and wondered what we wanted done to it! I'm really over this place by now. I get a text to "skip the counter and pay online". You can't open it. We drive down on our day off (Saturday) to be told we can't pick it up because they are closed. The service department can't get the paperwork or the key from the body shop. We are beyond frustrated and will really recommend you stay away from this place. The car is sitting unlocked in the parking lot and no one has a key to lock it. It's going to sit all weekend in full view unlocked. Unbelievable!
I purchased a vehicle from a Toyota dealership in San Diego in 2019
I purchased a vehicle from a Toyota dealership in San Diego in 2019. They informed me that the buyout price at lease end would be $23,000. Recently, I visited the dealership to purchase the vehicle as my lease concluded. The salesperson insisted on adding a service to the transaction to allow the purchase. They claimed the dealership required profit from the deal, and without selling an additional service, there would be none. I disputed this, questioning its legality, and discussed the extra charge with a finance manager. Both employees were dismissive, stating such add-ons were standard. The dealership stood firm on their condition to sell a product alongside the car. Toyota's policy mandated dealership involvement for the purchase. They implied that without purchasing their warranty, the sale would not proceed. This approach seemed both illegal and unethical. Moreover, they conducted a credit check, which negatively impacted my credit score, despite my cash payment for the vehicle. They insisted on the credit check to continue with the purchase. This dealership's practices are questionable and they should be held accountable for their actions.
There was a bunch of reasons that made me wanna complain about Norm Reeves Toyota San Diego
There was a bunch of reasons that made me wanna complain about Norm Reeves Toyota San Diego. First, when I went to test drive the car, their pushy attitude was kinda unsettling, but I guess that's what you expect from a not-so-nice dealership. And to make matters worse, they ran my credit even though I didn't plan on buying anything at that time. It was a real bummer 'cause now I had to consider them just so they wouldn't run my credit again. Second, when I left, all unhappy 'bout the credit thing, they told me that if I came back within two weeks to buy the car, they wouldn't need to do another credit check. Well, turns out that was a big fat lie 'cause when I returned four days later, the salesman I talked to denied ever saying that. Talk about false info, right? Third, after I signed all the paperwork, they didn't bother keeping me updated on the status of my car. I had to bug both the salesman and the sales manager with a bunch of phone calls just to get some basic info on when I could expect my car. Fourth, when I talked to a manager 'bout the issues I was having, the original salesman had the nerve to call me and complain about me talking to his boss. That was totally inappropriate and made me feel really unsafe and uncomfortable. I didn't wanna deal with them anymore after that. Fifth, when I finally got my car, guess what? They messed up again! They gave me the wrong car, with a different VIN and everything. It was someone else's car, just really similar to the one I wanted. Talk about a major mistake on their part. And lastly, even after I got the right car, they still kept bothering me with phone calls 'bout their own errors. This time it was 'bout some paperwork. It's just been one frustrating incident after another, and it's clear that their unprofessional and careless actions are a result of their poor business operations.

I was told I would get the second half of my payment for the Dodge Charger I sold to that Toyota dealership on time
I was told I would get the second half of my payment for the Dodge Charger I sold to that Toyota dealership on time. It's been almost 3 months and I still haven't received the $13,310 I'm owed for that Dodge Charger.
Norm Reeves Toyota in Mission Gorge told me they would give me $26,620 for my Dodge Charger
Norm Reeves Toyota in Mission Gorge told me they would give me $26,620 for my Dodge Charger. They gave me $13,310 upfront and said they would send the rest later. After waiting for weeks and thinking it over a lot, they finally sent me a check for $10,000. I gave the registration and plates from the dealership where I bought the Charger to the person in the finance department at the Toyota dealership. I thought I would get the remaining $3,310 within the next week, but I still haven't received it. I sold them the car in early April, and if I don't get the $3,310 they owe me, I will definitely take legal action against them.
On May 1, I bought a car and arranged financing through a dealership
On May 1, I bought a car and arranged financing through a dealership. I informed them of my impending out-of-state military move on May 17th, and was assured that my plates and paperwork would be ready in time. Additionally, I requested a $2400 refund for an inadvertently added warranty, which was to be processed at month's end. Despite multiple attempts to contact the finance department and my dealer Ray, I've faced evasion and non-responses. My next step is to seek resolution through various public and legal channels, as I am still without plates and my refund, and the dealership is now unresponsive.

I went to Norm Reeves Toyota to buy a car
I went to Norm Reeves Toyota to buy a car. When I told the sales lady that I have a check from my bank to buy the car, the sales representative ran both my and my fiancé's credit without asking. She knew I was financed with Mission Federal Credit Union, but she didn't care to listen. When I confronted the sales rep Natalia, she told me about section codes and money laundering reasons, saying she had to run my credit and it would go away after my first car payment. This sounds like a bunch of nonsense to me. She couldn't be honest with me, and that's why I'm complaining. They are very unethical. It would have been nice to know they were checking my credit. I would have walked away from the deal because my bank already checked my credit and it had a negative impact. Now, I have another negative impact on my credit for no reason. This is unfair to customers.
I bought a 2017 Jeep Wrangler from Norm Reeves Toyota on 4/9 and paid $451 for License/Registration/Transfer/Titling fees
I bought a 2017 Jeep Wrangler from Norm Reeves Toyota on 4/9 and paid $451 for License/Registration/Transfer/Titling fees. Still haven't got the registration for the car. Waited five weeks for it, then went to the *** on June 14th to ask about it 'cause Norm Reeves Toyota didn't give me a good update. The *** told me there were unpaid registration fees (thousands of dollars) for the car with the Hawaiian *** that needed sorting out before they could make a new registration. Gave this info to Norm Reeves, got a paper saying I'm the registered owner, and they said it might take 3 months for the registration to come from ***. They told me to contact them again if I don't get it by August. I called 9 times, left voicemails, and sent 2 texts in August, but they didn't answer or pay attention.
May 17 - I bought a new radiator from Norm Reeves Toyota online
May 17 - I bought a new radiator from Norm Reeves Toyota online. I picked up the part around May 20. The radiator was carefully installed over Memorial Day weekend, making sure not to bend the cooling fins. The part stayed in the box until it was actually put in the car. Unfortunately, the new radiator started leaking this past week. I called Norm Reeves *** and they told me I would have to pay for a new radiator and labor through them to have it covered under warranty. I told my mechanic, who only works on Toyotas and uses factory parts, and they were shocked by what I was told. The repair shop confirmed that the radiator is defective. I called back and asked again because this is not the usual practice according to my mechanic. The clerk said that the manager said the same thing as before, that I would have to pay the dealer to have it covered under warranty. The car has only been driven about 5 times (as it's my weekend/pleasure car) since the radiator was installed, so it shouldn't have failed within a month of being put into service. Because Norms *** won't exchange the defective radiator under warranty without making me pay the dealer, I have no choice but to have my regular repair shop get a new factory radiator.
On March 6, I asked for the 30,000 maintenance on my 2017 Toyota Corolla IM at Norm Reeves Toyota San Diego
On March 6, I asked for the 30,000 maintenance on my 2017 Toyota Corolla IM at Norm Reeves Toyota San Diego. The advisor, Q, told me that the whole service, including tire rotation, would take about 2 and a half hours. After an hour, he called me over and said I needed to replace all four tires, which would cost $680. I told him I wasn't ready for that expense and just wanted the service that was covered in the plan. I waited some more and then he told me my car was finished and the full 30,000 service and tire rotation were done.
After work, I noticed that the tire in the back still had a different cap and was in the same position. So I checked the invoice and someone had written "no rotation rec 4 tires" in the back. I was mad and called the supervisor, ***, but he wasn't helpful at all. He just made excuses and said my tires weren't rotated because the two in the back were worn. My car only has 28,248 miles and I've been taking it to this dealership for all maintenance since I bought it in 2017.
After arguing with *** for a while, my only choice was to take the car back and try to resolve the issue, but that didn't help either. On March 12, *** didn't clearly explain why the rotation wasn't done. He said if I bought new tires, they would do the rotation, which doesn't make sense. He also mentioned that they have a sale in April and October. He printed an invoice that showed the tire pressure and that the tires had inner and outer edgewear.
I bought a new radiator from Norm Reeves Toyota's parts department through their online portal on May 17, 2022
I bought a new radiator from Norm Reeves Toyota's parts department through their online portal on May 17, 2022. I picked up the part around May 20. The brand-new radiator was carefully installed over Memorial Day weekend in 2022, making sure not to bend the cooling fins and such. The radiator stayed in its factory shipping box until it was put in the car. However, the new radiator started leaking in late June or early July 2022. I called Norm Reeves' customer service in early July 2022 and they told me that I would have to PAY the dealer to get the defective radiator covered under warranty. I told my regular repair shop, which specializes in Toyota vehicles and uses factory parts, about this, and they were shocked by what I was told. The repair shop confirmed that the radiator was indeed defective and needed to be replaced. I called back and asked again, because my mechanic and coworkers said that this is not the usual practice in the industry. The clerk told me that the manager said the same thing as before, that I would have to PAY the dealer to get it covered under warranty. Since the radiator was installed, I have only driven the car about 5 times, as it is my weekend and pleasure car. Norm Reeves' parts department insists that I have to pay them to get a defective radiator covered under warranty. This is the first time I have been told that I need to pay to have a part covered under warranty.
I live in Arizona and found the vehicle in San Diego that I was looking for at the right price
I live in Arizona and found the vehicle in San Diego that I was looking for at the right price. I emailed (he responded) and talked to a Mr. Clint H. He sent me the paperwork showing the final OTD price via email and I went to Norm Reeves San Diego. First, when I met Mr. Clint H in person he was beyond rude and tried to intimidate me. Why? I am buying a vehicle. I ignored his rudeness and test drove the vehicle. Sat down to purchase with the price agreed upon and he asked to run my credit report. I said no, I am paying with a check and you can see what is in my account to cover purchase. He ran my Credit anyway. I shook my head and said why. He said you could be a terrorist for all I am concerned. Next, I let him know he misspelled my last name. He said it wouldnt be a problem. Went to the finance department and started the paperwork with Mr. Tony N. As he was filling out he 1 day permit to get my vehicle back to Arizona, I said you misspelled my last name. Please correct. He fixed the 1 day permit but not he rest of the paperwork. On 12/22 I emailed and called Tony N and said I have not received my title. I received a call from Mark on 12/23 and said my paperwork last name was wrong and they were going to overnight a form that was needed to change. Mark said he would RUSH this and make sure I have my Title. I received, signed, and mailed back overnight on 12/24. Nothing back yet so I emailed and called Erik N General Manager on 1/8. I received and email from Mr. Erik N on 1/8 with an attached Registration showing that they just processed this on 1/8. The email stated it would take 2-4 weeks for me to receive my title. 6 emails and 4 phone calls and still nothing. I called California MVD 2/1 and they said it should be in by 2/12. Why am I inconvenienced for their mistakes. I should be compensated for having a vehicle sit in my garage for 2 months and have already obtained insurance on121520.
