Good but worst customer service
The app is a great app but there customer care service are the worst customer service ever see in my life. I received my atm card yesterday and I was trying to click on it on the app, it request for my cash pin I insert my pin and keep showing error code and my account was disabled I keep calling the customer service for hours they keep saying they’re are busy I drop a voice message for them and yet nothing is done I sent a mail to them too. Worst customer care service.
I can’t withdraw my money
I have been unable to withdraw money and also receive money on my opay account since last week 17/08/20121.
Also, I can’t file a complaint on the app before it is not working. I have update the app, logged out and in and also I have tried logging in through another phone but still the same result. The only thing working right now is the Airtime service. Please I need to access my money to enable me to transfer my remaining fund because I can’t use all my fund to get airtime.

This is such a great and amazing app I don’t have any complaints yet and I hope I wouldn’t, the only thing I noticed about this app is that after a successful transaction either debit or credit there is suppose to be a pop up notification that will notify us if we’ve been credited, instead of us to keep going into the app and refreshing it before we know we have been sent some amount, please I will urge you guys to do something about it soon please…. Aside that I don’t have any complaints.

Yes my account was locked and i contact them immediately so I was told to send email to antifraud which I do times without numbers before they answer me to send my wallet number and NIN ID card but still yet my account is still not working. I went to osogbo OPay office opposite Technical college but to my surprise they told me they can’t do anything about unblock my account that I should contact antifraud to do that on thee and. Pls my people stop downloading talkess of sign up on this App. Thanks
Erroneous transfer
I made an erroneous transfer since on Monday and OPay refused to be of help…is that not sign of incompetence even the bank I transferred to said they are the only one they can help me because the money is still on the account and OPay keep saying they can’t they Omoh a sum of 50k despite how have being banking with you people using PalmPay and Monipoint do the same mistakes and their money was reversed back to them within 2days why are you different and we think you’re the must valuable and trustworthy among

I think Opay is a Scam
I’m tired of this app. It says ‘payment failed > T.TZ.I.04009 account not allowed auth’ each time I try to send out. I have my money stuck in it for very long time now. I can only make a deposit but i can’t withdraw. The annoying part is they don’t even have any hotline to call. No Livechat support, their customers service is poor I sent them mail last week waiting on reply and got no reply till now. Called the hotline they provided nothing Why would they do such? No complaints are been attended to…. Please release my money

Hello Opay please I will love to know why am unable to transfer money from my bank to Opay wallet since on Thursday 28/07..I borrowed money on OPAY CREDIT(#) and u guys have been calling me to repay the money backed and which I was trying to transfer so that I can pay on time because the interest is everyday adding up..so please if am unable to do the transfer more than the date I start doing unsuccessful transfer..am sorry to say that I won’t pay for the interest again..if u guys can’t fix it on time...my number is [protected]
Rubbish service
Y’all mad for making this app. I know I’m so stupid for using this foolish app. I started having issue since I updated the foolish app, so I can get new stuffs within the rubbish app. It’s unable to login again. I deleted the app and downloaded it again; but still the same. I just sent money to the app to use it get myself a Drug for my health...now isn’t working again. See if you don’t want to get your app reported. Better solve this issue before I broadcast your rubbish app to everybody. I regretted for using this foolish app
Criminals
OPay is criminal , the customer service is slower than tape worm and they claim bonuses which they don’t provide. I got my OPay card and was told I will be refunded after activation and first use . All done yet no refunds . I opened a complaint with the brainless live chat on series of occasions and up to a month plus now , nothin has been done
Customer service is the pooooreeest , they take years to reply a single message and the chat suddenly disconnects. I advise you not to use this app. They are not serious as I myself am considering switching to kuda or other platform

first, I appreciate this app for making it easy, fast and affordable to move around the city, keep the good work in serving the customers more better. Please I have used this application for more than 4 months now and it works perfectly even till this morning but unfortunately I tried to access my opay only to discover that my account has been logged out,I tried to put my mobile number let me gain access to my account but the responses is “ Request failed, please check your network “ I have good network on my mobile phone and other applications are working perfectly.please I need responses, thank you.
Unreliable
Firstly you don’t even attend to reviews which makes one skeptical about writing a review. Just to let you guys know that deducting #1 when I’m ready to pay the #1,086 is wrong. Your customer service doesn’t even have an idea of what they are doing, just wasting people’s talk time. Your WhatsApp customer agent is even worse. I wish I could attach screen shots of my complains here for others to see. Worse customer relations ever.
You can’t revert payment for more than a week! What is going on? CBN says all reverts should be done within 24hours of the transaction. I need a response as it is all your agents can’t even give same answers to the issues at hand. Sad

Stay away from opay
I paid my salary into opay and wanted to disburse it to my expense account and savings which I couldn’t, it’s my first time using opay which I successfully upgraded to kyc 2 but couldn’t upgrade to kyc 3 because they kept declining my application without telling me the reason why. Called and called their customer service and what they kept telling me was I couldn’t send out because I didn’t upgrade to kyc 3 which the difference from the kyc 2 was just the money limit on the app. They told me what to submit which I did submit directly to their email and the reply they were giving me was ohh this this issue is escalated then after that the issue has been solved and still I can’t send out. Please be careful of this so called bank if you don’t like headache and frustration.

My sales girl made a mistake of clicking on the merchant loan app and I was credited 17500 immediately I got to the store which was not even up to 10minutes I paid the money back and found out an interest of 1575 I called them immediately to inform them that it was a mistake and chatted up there customer service which is useless they told me to send an email which I did and I had to waste my airtime to call More than 7times on a different date to cut the long story short they deducted my money claiming it the loan interest my business mistake is having to rely on this stupid company for my business when there are lots of company I could use don’t even bother doing business with them trust me you’ll regret it the customer service is lame and chatting in the app is stupid I wish I could give them zero star after all my huge transactions with them

My phone got lost during accident ,so I add to get new sim because I could not retrieve it.. the problem am having with OPay is that I want to move my money from the formal account to the new one so I chat and called OPay customer care and they ask me to provide some documents of which I did and I send the documents to the email that is given by OPay. Over a month now I have been calling and chat OPay everyday, even going to their office at ikeja yet nothing is yet to be done. If I call or chat they they will be asking for the same documents everyday telling me to send it to the same email address but yet no good outcome. What I see in this app is that to put money in it is not a problem, but when it comes to withdrawal that where the problem comes from. Just so faustrating . The so call OPay is beginning to look like a scam platform to me. I really blame myself for saving my money in it. If I have the grace to collect the money out I will never advise someone to you the so call OPay .
Major security flaws
While the app experience is beautiful, ensure to lock your sim with a pin, on android settings, security, sim lock, on iOS go to cellular and look for sim lock. The issue is as follows: there is a verified email which is never used to verify anything as a second level check (2fa). I also find this issue with some other mobile banking apps, at the highest security level the apps should require 2 pins before login; separate unique pins; one to email one to phone; both will be entered to login or change password, the BVN method is not secure since that can be retrieved via the sim. Again, you can change the transaction pin simply using an otp send to your line. In the event your sim is stolen unlocked, before you can reach Mtn and punch through all the prompts and stories, the deed may be done on you. What’s most shocking is the fact that you can also change out this verified email by receiving and otp to the NEW email being entered! The secure way should be to receive an otp to the current verified email; only on confirmation of this pin will a form to enter details be presented and it should have at least; password, type in full email address (email should be masked inside app!) then 2 fields to enter and reconfirm new email; receive otp to new email and then change is committed.
Breath of fresh air
OPay is a well needed breath of fresh air in Nigeria, crisp and green like the Amazon, Gone are the days of technologically illiterate artisans’ “Oga I’ve not seen alert oh” which comes but not before “I no dey do transfer” for they are sure the transaction will come through immediately.
Further improvements and Opay should be the mainstream electronic payment platform in Nigeria and maybe even double as a secondary account.
Transactions are seamless. Opay to Opay Transactions have zero delay time, Opay to bank transaction cost just N10 and is also a breeze. (I can’t talk about bank to Opay because sincerely we all know how that goes)
***You’re safe as long as nobody gets a hold of your phone while you’re logged into OPay. ***
Fronted UI is quite ergonomic and intuitive. Super easy to pick up and learn (Funny how this has more functionality and somehow easier to use than a bank app)
Their integration into Nigeria is so artful and graceful it should probably be studied as a course in university.
I have issues that shouldn’t have been missed during app dev. It mostly concerns the Oride and this the reason I rated the app four stars.
Connectivity issues: The app constantly loses connection. Transactions take forever pending and gaining a ride is completely out of the question. This happens suddenly and unexpectedly and if you’re already on route to your location be prepared to share a drink with the driver while you wait for it to come back on.
SUGGESTION: None, I believe the project is still in infant stage and this packet loss is being worked on.
No Round Trip: I’m surprised this wasn’t in the app on release, R & D should have come by this, sometimes I want to use the same ride and head to different locations but each time I get to the first drop , the driver has to end the ride, wait for me to pay, input my location again (which by the way is sometimes a nightmare because you’ll be in Enugu and LAGOS WILL BE COMING UP IN SUGGESTIONS!?) now search again, Now here is the part that really grinds my gears —-> ANOTHER DRIVER WILL PICK THE RIDE, THEN I HAVE TO CANCEL IT, THEN REPEAT THE WHOLE PROCESS AGAIN! AND PRAY TO GOD MY DRIVER ACTUALLY SEES IT FIRST AND OH WHILE THIS IS ALL HAPPENING MY DRIVER IS ALSO RECEIVING RIDE NOTIFICATIONS AND IF HE CANCELS TOO MANY RIDES because he’s looking for mine HE’S SANCTIONED AND UNABLE TO RECEIVE RIDES AGAIN FOR 20MINS!(I haven’t verified this but Ive been told by drivers) Who in Gods name implemented that? I should be able to chose more than one drop location.
Suggestion: In the next update input the option for multiple drop locations. Something like

While we’re on the topic of drivers; why isn’t there a way for you to just pick a ride with a driver if you happen to have one right in front of you? Why do I have to search for him? This is frustrating and guess what? You’ll experience all the issues stated above. AGAIN!
Suggestion: Add an option like scan barcode to pick driver Or [Call Drop?] -> input drivers number, then when you call he can accept whether to ride or not.
Trips: SERIOUSLY?!? Why can’t I save my home address so all i have to do is click home as destination and head there? You know what forget that, must be too complicated SEEING AS I CANT EVEN SAVE A TRIP TO BEGIN WITH!
Payment methods: Okay I get that this is ELECTRONIC and all but hear me out here, This is a service company, you provide a much needed service but at the same time your customers have to be satisfied. Sometimes banks lose networks, sometimes people have cash but none in the account and would like to fund their Opay account, for some strange reason most drivers always have less than N500 to transfer, I don’t know the reason for this but that’s what they always say and it’s true, what would happen when the promo ends and distances start to cost a lot of money?
Suggestion: Can the option for cash payment be made and the later the driver can balance the amount by deposit later? This is getting lengthy so I don’t want to go into detail but I’m sure you guys understand.
***ONCE LOGGED IN THERES NO OTHER SECURITY MEASURE IN PLACE BEFORE A TRANSACTION IS MADE. I can understand for ORide but what about other applications? Transfer? Airtime Recharge? Basically if for some reason you’ve logged in your Opay and left the phone unattended anyone can make a transaction on your phone without stress. I haven’t seen the drivers app. But that would just be incredibly negligent on R&Ds part.
Miscellaneous: Loss of network leads to cached memory clearance which means you have to go through the whole login process again, all previous trip suggestions and searched locations are cleared
If you made it this far reading my Review and you’ve given this app 2 stars because it didn’t work for a while on iPhone consider changing it please thank you. I have so many other things to talk on but the above just make my blood boil.
If I see any single one of these implemented in the next update I’ll rate it 5 stars.

I am at Akwa Ibom state at the moment. I can’t find Otreke in my app. Android users have Ofood and Otreke, It enables them use tricycles in Akwa Ibom state. But I can’t find it on my Apple OPay App.

Your app don’t work all the time and when it work your bike riders are not available because they do offline work. Have been disappointed like four times, you need to work on it cause am uninstalling your app cause it not reliable to me

O ride should improve on the app setting. You will see a particular amount shown to you on the app, but when you get to your destination you see a higher amount.

The app was amazing from the onset not until I tried the KYC2, the app started malfunctioning. I wrote support but they was no feedback. The app needs to be updated, they are also states where you can’t pay electricity bill with it. Kindly fix this.

This has to be the worst app ever, I couldn’t get a ride for todays straight, with the fact that i have a lot of bikers around me on the map. 10mins of searching and connecting to a rider, still yet no rider available. Needed to upgrade to kyc2 because I already exceeded my daily limit but keep telling me something went wrong. The bikers around me keep canceling the ride because it was my first ride So I had my female cousin to request from her phone and the bikers accepted when the first canceled. So this means bikers prefer to take on ride with girls than guys. I’m deleting this app and would be better if this app doesn’t function anymore.. this stupid opay riders needs to do better.

This app looks good on Android with all the features but on iPhone it’s just a mistake, I really think they should be sure what’s going to be available and what’s not, it’s frustrating tryna look for someone using android to help you order for ride or food, considering the fact that even their riders take forever to accept.
