As of September 8, 2023 I can no longer receive any E-Mails on my optonline.net account. I was just informed that my account has been dropped due to inactivity with my Optimum Online Web E-Mail account. Apparently as of this past May 2023, Optimum decided that they will cancel all E-Mail accounts due to inactivity. I was told by a customer service representative named "Julia" that Optimum had notified me of this situation, however, I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED, either by U.S. Mail, an E-Mail, a phone call, or online. I have not had the need to use online E-Mail since I have been satisfactorily using Microsoft Outlook 2010 for over 10 years for my E-Mails. I was also told by "Julia" that I should have logged in to my Optimum Online E-Mail account at least once a month so that I wouldn't be dropped. Had I known of this I definitely would have done so. We've been a Cablevision customer and then Optimum customer (same company different name) for over over 30 years. We are presently paying Optimum $274.00 a month for services, including E-Mail. This treatment by this company with me is outlandish and uncalled for. I am hereby requesting reinstatement immediately of my Optimum Online E-Mail because my current E-Mail address is used by people, Doctors, Hospitals and companies that I do business with. This dropping of my E-Mail account represents an EXTREME HARDSHIP to me. I am medically not well and this unnecessary stress is NOT GOOD for my health.
