July, Aug, Sept. bill payments. Pay in person. Have 2 accts. Include 1 check, both stubs. July pay credited to 1 acct. leaving other past due. Went in and advised problem. Supv. give credit and correct. Aug. bill showed correction except for past due amount. Took payment in, explained problem. Staff (Supv.?) asked if I considered paying with 2 checks. I said no, have both stubs, should be able to credit correctly. Went in to pay Aug. payment. 1 staff member there. Told him I had 1 check, 2 accts. both stubs in envelope. He opened up envelope, asked which acct. I wanted to pay. I said both. He told me he could not take 1 check for 2 accts per Supv. I stated that was crazy. He said "it could make my till off." I said I should not have to pay with 2 checks if have stubs. He took payment but emphasized that he could get in trouble because he was told not to take 1 check for 2 accts. I appreciate him handling my payment. I do not understand why Supv. would risk losing a customer over having 1 check to pay 2 accts. if the stubs showing the correct amount is included. Is this company policy? If so, I will have to explore other options.
Desired outcome: Response on policy.
