We placed an order for 5 special order leather pieces on 10 / 31 / 09. We were told delivery would be 6 - 12 weeks (12 / 5 / 09 - 1 / 23 / 10) . In january 2010, we received an email that there was a problem and estimated arrival was now moved to 2 / 24 / 10. Then we got an email that estimated delivery was moved to march 10, 2010. Yesterday we got another email that delivery is now estimated for 4 / 14 / 10, at which time we need to set up a delivery date. . . Which generally takes an additional 10 - 14 days. If we are lucky, we'll actually receive the palliser furniture by. . . Mother's day. We are in a new home with the main large living area completely void of furniture. If i had understood that i may wait 7+ months for furniture i would never have ordered from palliser. I'm totally disgusted with the whole process. I was informed by the company where we ordered our furniture that reason for the delay is a quality control issue with the leather maker. I would prefer to not get sub - quality leather, so i'm hopeful that once it is received there aren't any problems with it. But still, even if it is perfect leather. . . Waiting almost 7 months for something that we were told would come in 6 - 12 weeks is a bit unprofessional and i'm trying to figure out how to get the bad taste out of my mouth.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I was also about to purchase a Palliser sectional from Sears this weekend, but thankfully I came across this website. I shall not be purchasing such poor quality furniture. I am shocked.
We bought two Palliser leather sofas from Castle furniture in Regina, Sask.Extra leather warranty was purchased. We were told only backing was plastic, everything else was leather it turns out there was a lot more plastic than leather. . Within one year the sides of the nonremovable cushions were split and many wear patchs were showing, seams were letting go. Castle furniture said deal with Palliser, Palliser said tough, leather warranty does not cover plastic deal with Castle. Over four thousand dollars for two leather sofas less than one year old and both dealer and Palliser said we are out of luck. Nice going Palliser.Nice going Castle.
Hey...we where just about to purchase Palliser ...$4, 000. worth of leather home theatre recliners but after reading these complaints I WLL NOT EVEN considerate it anymore. Between the poor quality of materials and workman ship as well as the company's attitude towards the customers they can go to hell...

I bought a Palliser leather sectional from Domicile furniture for $3000 within the past month. It was a floor model with no obvious wear or defects and beautiful, clean lines. I have now found the same sectional online in several sites for $1600. The greater issue is that within 2 weeks the back and seat cushion foam was deforming, with sagging and puckering of the leather, with minimal use by a normal weight person. I called Domicile who informed me that this is normal use wear. I am waiting for a warranty determination by Palliser, but doubt anything will be done. The clean lines and lovely appearance is already altered, and I dread to see it after 1-2 years of use. I am sitting on the floor to avoid further damage to the furniture! Buyer beware! I wish I had read online before making this expensive purchase.
Paid $3000 for a Palliser leather sectional, good looking floor model with no damage, that I now find online for almost half that amount (pucharsed from Domicile furniture in Chicago area). Delivery was one month ago. Within 2 weeks the foam in the back and seat cushion was deforming, with sagging of the leather and complete loss of the previoulsy clean, attractive line of the furniture design. The warranty inspector tells me this is normal use wear! I am normal weight and use the sofa < 2-3 hours a day! Now I sit on the floor so that I don't further "damage" the furniture. Buyer beware! This is poor quality construction. Wish I'd read reviews online before buying! See photo attached.
My experience is similar to you all. Paid over $3000 and it's tore and ripped with in a 1.5 years.
Got no where with trying to get it repaired or replaced.
Did a Better Business complaint and was contacted by Palliser corporate.
Asked me to send pictures again and kept telling me I'd here from them in a week. That went on for months and I never heard anything and still haven't. I just posted a video of my Palliser on youtube to warn people away. http://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&video_id=osue97aTdw4
Huh, picture in post below looks like normal wear to me. Some people are never satisfied.

Oh my. I was about to spend 4, 200 on a sofa bed by them. Looks great in the store. Not going to fool with them after reading the above. Thanks for posting, guys.
My husband and I purchased a leather 2 piece Como sectional by special order. It was delivered in April of 2011, about 12 weeks after purchase. Within a year we noticed that the stitching was coming undone on one of the sections and contacted the furniture store we purchased from. They sent it out for repair to a local leather shop. The repair has held up very well. This month (two years after the first repair and three years after purchase) we noticed during a cleaning that the other section is completely coming apart along all of the similar seams that were repaired before. Upon closer examination we noticed additional stitching coming undone in new places on the piece that was originally repaired. Our furniture store has finally told us (after several weeks) that Palliser refuses to stand by their product. There was OBVIOUSLY a manufacturer defect in that there was a problem in the first year and that problem has continued on all similar seams on the remainder of the sofa. We spent $2500 on this 2 piece sectional expecting it to last us a good twenty years. It hasn't even made it through the five year warranty that is offered by Palliser who refuses to honor even that. Our reputable furniture store has offered to buy back our sofa from us for a credit to purchase something new. Thank goodness for Art Sample! Unfortunately they will only credit us a little over half what we paid and we will most likely take them up on their offer even though we are extremely disappointed and don't really have an additional $1000 laying around to purchase a new sectional. What I can tell you for ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN is that WE WILL NOT be replacing our damaged furniture with Palliser!
I orda sum palliser furniture and it be da ###. Thanks Obama!
My Palliser recliner needs replacement of the electric motor control for the reclining mechanism. It is still under warranty, I was told by the selling that there would be a six to eight week wait for the necessary part needed for the repair. Hello...six to eight weeks? This is the 21st Century we are living in, not the 19th. Is this what they consider service after the sale. I will never buy nor advise any one to purchase Palliser mainly for this lack of custmer service.
Purchased a Palliser Berkly Reclining Sofa 4/30/05 based on store model and color availability but had problems within the first year with cushions collapsing. After much haggling with Crockett Furniture (US) they agreed to send someone to rebuild the Rt. seat and back. Good thing I watched the process from beginning to end as my husband and I had to rebuild it ourselves 3 more times. We also found the framework less than desirable and my husband also had one end collapse on him as did a previous writer. The two halves of the sofa are night and day. LT half seems to be made of good leather but RT half seems to be made of poorer quality neck leather that is wrinkly. It also has always bled its stain (Spruce) onto cleaning rags while the LT side does not. Fortunately It did not rub off on clothing.
The Rt seat is now cracked and ripped and as of 2010 (before the tearing happened ) we were beyond our 5 year warranty. We thought at the time of purchase that Canada made quality products. I think we'll go back to buying furniture at discount stores so that when they fall apart I won't be absolutely incredulous (or out a lot of money).

I bought a Palliser tracer chair [protected] and after a while I heard a loud snapping noise. Now the foot rest does not come up properly. My friend checked underneath and a piece of wood had broken off and moved over, causing the problem. It is just cheap wood with staples! I was surprised to see part of my expensive chair is made with cardboard. I don't know if he'll be able to fix it or not.
Pallister furniture has lost its quality. I would never buy it again. Sorry pallister, you lost many customers in Canada because of poor workmanship and materials. Won't be long before this company is out of business.
Palliser Furniture has lost it's quality for sure. We have a Palliser reclining sofa we purchased over 7 years ago that looks almost brand new. So we purchased another Palliser sofa, identical to the first reclining sofa in a different color leather, and had it delivered in early January 2015. After one month of use the leather was puckering, the seat cushions were already sagging and breaking down. See the picture taken after one month of use. This is just one end of the couch. The other end looks almost as bad. This is a dual reclining couch. We have no children in our house. Just a couple of normal size adults.
Have contacted Palliser and they basically have done NOTHING and seem intent on doing NOTHING. Said it is their option to repair, or at their option, replace parts. Now I ask you this - would you not be upset as heck with spending $2, 000 on a couch that looks like this after 1 month of use?
Have found out, the hard way, that Palliser is not built like it use to be. So be forewarned and buyer beware. You'll spend top quality for the Palliser name but the product you get...well let's just say this again...look at the picture after one month of use. Enough said.
Oh sorry folks. The picture didn't upload. Let me try this again.
Even almost a whole year has gone by and I still feel like I was robbed buying this chair. All the details about it I like: the size, color, lie flat mechanism, style, etc. I feel like I did my homework and searched, literally far and wide and decided on Palliser because I thought I was getting a quality piece of furniture to last a lifetime. At $1000.00 I had high hopes. About a day after it had been home I noticed a very strong g odor coming from the chair, like that factory new leather chemical smell. A week went by and the stunk up the whole room. A month went by and I called Palliser who told me to call the dealer. The dealer told me he would look into what it could be. It was then 2 months and it was still smelling of chemicals. I called the dealer again who said any smell should dissapate and that they had not had that compliant before. So here I am a year later, sitting in my $1, 000 dollar chair and trying to hope that these toxic fumes won't affect me. This chair was supposed to help me in recovering from breast cancer after my surgeries. I am so !ad I spent the money on this chair. Oh and by the way it was made in Mexico, with particle, chip board and even that was cut out in the arms to save. When I flipped it over I was in shock at the lack of quality. I will not buy from them in the future.
Beth, I feel your pain about Palliser and their lack of quality. They did use to have a quality product. But once they moved their production from Canada to Mexico it is apparent that the quality has gone way downhill. Even though almost a full year has gone by you might want to try filing a complaint against the dealer (because Palliser will do nothing) with the Better Business Bureau. It might not be to late for you to be able to possibly work out a solution. Good luck to you!
I'm really glad I read this I was just shopping for a replacement piece sectional we purchased from palliser 11 years ago. I'm quite happy with it I sure couldn't complain after 11 years all but one piece looks like brand-new still & they've had good use over the years. The One piece that needs replacing is everybody's favorite place to sit and about a year ago it started to deteriorate bad I think we paid around 4000 for 6P sectional and I feel like we got our moneys worth but now I'm really disappointed to learn they have such poor quality and service because I don't want to buy replacement piece from them now! Thanks to all who take time to share their experiences complaints and reviews is much appreciated by many people.
BEWARE of TIPPING- OVER- FORWARD HAZARD! The "Auxiliary" Theater seating is one of the smaller style powered chairs, and if the user leans forward while the leg-rest is extended, the whole chair tips over! It's like a sport utility vehicle with too small of a wheel base. When I inquired for help, they said it was user error. That may be, but every time we use the seats, someone leans too far forward and the drinks go spilling and grown adults end up on the floor. Beware of the other small size groups: ELITE, RECORD, STEREO. If you have to choose one of these styles, I highly recommend getting the non-powered version. That way the leg-rest would collapse, rather than the whole chair, if the user leans too far forward.
I'm looking for high quality premium sofas and was considering Palliser as Canadian company with quality products manufactured in Canada. Thank you for dispelling the myth and saving me the frustrations of dealing with a 2nd rate company and 3rd rate products.
Do NOT buy from PALLISER ! The lifetime warrantee on the frame is BULL ! We have a problem...and neither of us is huge or obese. Some piece of wood has failed. They have told us that;
The labor is only for one year.
The frame components are covered foe life; "so if it is some piece of wood broken, go to Home Depot and get the wood for the furniture repair company. We will reimburse for the cost of the board."
WHAT BULL CRAP ! We were told that the furniture frame is covered by a LIFETIME, IN HOME WARRANTY.
We purchased the Palliser Miami sectional with Phoenix Chocolate faux leather material in 2011. Took 10 weeks to be delivered to retailer (we picked it up). As you can see in the pic, the surface of the material has begun to blister and peal. This is happening in various degrees all over the couch. My retailer went out of business so I have contacted Palliser direct. The first Palliser employee confessed that the supplier of this material at the time my unit was manufactured was supplying defective product to Palliser. She further stated that my issue was the exact type of failure being experienced by every customer with the faulty material. She then agreed with me that the entire couch was defective and should be replaced. Then I was contacted by email by Bobby Persaud with Palliser. He offered to mail "cut and sewn panels for the affected areas" at no charge so I could find an upholstery craftsman to install them, 100% of which would be paid by me. I have responded explaining that given all facts involved, his offer was not acceptable. He has yet to respond. Does anyone have any experience with their retailer or Palliser where a claim for this defect was made? What was your outcome? Thanks!
We purchased a leather Palliser Providence set with a reclining sofa and a loveseat in early 2015. By the end of 2015, the ends of the sofa where we usually sit are FLAT. Foam padding is extremely insufficient, at this point feels non-existent. We are normal-sized, active people. Most days we only sit on our sofa for a few hours in the earning to watch TV. No reason for it to have gone so flat so fast. When we compare the sofa with the loveseat (which we rarely sit on), it's like night and day. Loveseat is puffy and comfortable, well-padded, sofa seats are hard and flat. Absolutely NOT WORTH what we paid for them! We are sorely disappointed with our Palliser products. Palliser must be trying to make up for the high cost of leather by cheaping out on the rest of the construction. A leather sofa is supposed to last a "lifetime, " but if we can ever afford to replace this one, we will, and NOT with a Palliser product!
Purchased 2 recliners from Sears Canada. 6 months into ownership and something is wrong with of the chairs. Horrible Customer Service. Customer service is everything! Palliser, with your customer service team I am sure Cary and Lorri are super proud of how you treat your customers. Of course being CEO and Vice President, I am sure they don't hear about stories of their customers who put faith and pride into a Canadian manufacture, (in my case anyway) only to find out that if you lose your SEARS receipt even after obtaining financial details from Sears and sending in the photo of the manufacturing sticker which clearly shows 6 months since it was made, you are S.O.L.! You see Sears these days don't want to put any effort into helping customers find a copy of a sales receipt, because Sears is now in the hands of liquidators. So I will say that I will no longer buy any furniture from Palliser and will tell as many people as possible how they really don't want customers. Shame shame. We bought 2 recliners BTW, just ask Trish Wilde of Palliser Customer Service. She knows the story. I certainly wouldn't be a proud CEO or Vice President if I knew that even one of my customers were unhappy. This is what happens when you grow too big Palliser, you lose focus on your clients.
Thanks everyone for your reviews. I went out today to get pricing on a palisser reclining sofa, loveseat, and chair worth over $5, 000.00, but after reading all of the bad reviews, I have decided to go with El Ran. According to many people that I have spoken to, they love the products they purchased from El Ran. The furniture is manufactured in Montreal from a family owned business. It has a lifetime warranty on the frame, mechanism, etc. Since it is family owned, they strive to make their customers happy. I am happy to support a Canadian company who did not move to Mexico just to absorb lower manufacturing cost and give back a product with shoddy material and labour.
Wow! Am I glad I read these reviews! I will definitely NOT be buying Palliser. I'm in the market for a reclining sofa and loveseat, but I'll try another company. Thanks to all who took the time to write about your experiences.
In April 2018 we ordered a Palliser top grade leather sofa and love seat from the Furniture Gallery in Oshawa. They cost $5, 391.00
They arrived in 5 weeks and after 3 days we complained that the leather was badly wrinkled on the seats. We took photo's of them and gave them to the Furniture Gallery.
We told them that there was not enough stuffing in them to fill the leather seats. It gave the appearance of being old instead of new furniture.
They said the wrinkling was normal and was due to the leather stretching.
After a few weeks the seats began to sink in the middle, making it difficult to get up out of the hole, without using both hands pushing down on supported areas of the sofa and then being able to lift yourself up. I am not an over size guy and I weigh 190lbs. But find it difficult to get up.
After a lot of phone calls and emails the Furniture Gallery had a company come to the house and replace the stuffing in the sofa seats. This gave a slightly better appearance as it appeared a little thicker and made the wrinkles smaller, but after a day it was back to what it was like before.
With sitting in a hole with wrinkled leather on the seats when you got up. I again complained to the Furniture Gallery
It needs support under the middle of the seat stuffing and not just under the sides.
The sales lady at the Gallery said they could not do this as it is not designed like that.
She told me that Palliser did not cover all the cost of re-stuffing the seats and that the Gallery had to cover some of the cost. She did not believe there was anything else they could do for me.
My wants wants me to burn the furniture and go and get something from the Brick that is comfortable.
But $5, 000.00 is a lot to see just go up in flames.
I am still hoping that the Furniture Gallery will resolve the problem.
John Atherton
I bought a sectional custom order in May and the same thing is happening to my sofa. I have contacted the furniture store and someone is coming out to look at it. If I’m not satisfied with how they plan to solve the problem. I will be contacting a attorney. Will keep you updated. I spent almost $4, 000.00 and I ‘m not going to just get stuck with some raggedy furniture.

Guy M. Papillon
Awful experience. Sub quality product
I purchased a Palliser loveseat, and I’ve called the company over and over again spoke to the sales department and there’s Ed manager and got nowhere. The leather on the sofa sides and front are fake and it’s cracking and looks disgusting. Enclosed are photos. Worst experience I’ve ever had please have nothing to do with this company.
I was also told Palliser was equivalent to Natuzzi. This is so far from the truth.
Luis also made a point to call me vs putting it in an email that Palliser was horrible and they have had numerous complaints from customers that they were debating whether to keep their products.
