We got sent a couple of state quarters last December. They asked for $17.99 and then they would continue to send more state quarters and more bills after future shipments. We had not ordered this item and were not interested in receiving more of them. There was no information about returning the items (2 quarters and a lot of paperwork about the state of origin of the quarters - Possible value of items was 94 cents to include quarters and copy costs of the paperwork). Since we were not interested in further shipments, we did not respond.
After 3-4 months we started receiving threatening letters in the mail, saying we owed them $17.99.I contacted them by phone last month telling them we had not ordered these items. That did not matter... they had received an internet order from us... which was not true. That did not matter to them - they just want our money or they'll try to wreck our credit. I've contacted my state's attorney general's office. If necessary, I'll talk to some of my lawyer friends who will give me free advice. It should be interesting to see how this plays out. PCS Stamps is a real scam!'
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I, on the other hand, have had nothing but excellent service from this company. When I asked them to replace a broken tray (which was my family's fault, not theirs) they sent me a complete, brand new collectors box for my Kennedy half dollars. Here is where all of you went wrong - using a major credit card with ANY national company. Get off your lazy butts & get a debit card you have to preload from your nearest dollar store. When a company tries to go beyond the limit you leave on the card they are stymied. This worked perfectly for me when I paid for a month's service of Ancestry and then they tried to hit the card for a $99 "Gold Membership." Another way is to include a U.S. Post Office money order (which is what I use to pay ALL bills!) You think one of these companies is going to argue with the guys that can cut-off their service? And especially do not deal with a company that won't accept money orders or debit cards. You know beyond a doubt they are after your credit card info! As the old saying goes - "Buyer Beware!" Non Illegitimus Corborundum!
I never had any problems with my shipments. I am up to date and I am waiting for the next sheet. I would know it's coming when I see $19.95 is taken from my ckbk. I have called PCS to see when the sheet is ready and when to expect to receive in my mail box. I am satisfied.
I have been dealing with PCS Stamps and Coins for several years now, and I find that they are a very reputable company. I have completed several coin collections through them and they have replaced any coins that I found were not collectible quality!
As for coin prices, I have not experienced any problems about their prices fluctuating from their advertisements! Those of you who complain about their prices don't know nothing about collecting coins. Silver coins are bought and sold according to the price of silver and the scarcity of the coin. Try buying coins from other companies that expect full payment upon purchase, where PCS offers payment plans that other companies DO NOT! $89.00 for Morgan Dollars is cheap, when other companies are selling them for over $100.00 up into the Thousands of Dollars. I recently paid over $300.00 for a NGC rated MORGAN DOLLAR, sold by a competitor of PCS. Do not complain about PCS when coin TV sellers have exaggerated and inflated coin prices that are totally ridiculous, with no option to replace unsuitable collectible coins. I have never been scammed by PCS and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company. If I had a problem, they have remedied it as soon as possible.
The Silver Proof coins come from the San Francisco Mint. If you have any questions about PCS Silver Proof coins, I suggest contacting that mint. I had doubts about the Silver Proof coins myself, until I started seeing them on auction sites. I have collected all the State Quarters and now collecting all the National Park Quarters and the ones I get now from PCS with the "S" Mint Mark are a very much different coin! I have silver Proof sets that I have received recently, and comparing them to the PCS coins, I can not tell them apart. Thank God the proof sets have their own cases, otherwise I would not know how to tell one coin from another!
You have a choice with PCS, you can buy the coins with or without the collector panels. Somebody has to write out those panels and gets paid to do it. Some of the coin collections that have panels comes with stamps, so you are getting coins and stamps.
I purchased the Complete JFK Collection from 1964 to present, with future coins to come! I received both Philadelphia and Denver Minted coins, except years there was a coin minted in only one of the mints. The coin experts on TV also claim, in order to have a complete set of JFK coins, mint sets had to broken down to get the JFK coins out of them. Still, I got both coins and stamps. A private coin seller will not give you stamps and coins with a purchase. Though stamp collecting can be profitable,
I'm just interested in the coins. I'm now collecting from PCS the complete JFK Silver Collection which does not include stamps, but guarantees each coin is either 40% Silver or 90% Silver. So far, from what I have received, my collection of JFK's is mostly 90% Silver, though you pay the same price for the 40% Silver coins, still I'd rather purchase coins from PCS than any other source.
HI-you all are right-the coins are over priced-I got an offer for Morgan 'S' silver dollars at about $95. each-I looked on E-bay and found some for only about $30 to $50 each-glad I did not go for the offer-now I NEVER will-It helps to do research before you buy any thing you get in the mail-or see in ads.
PCS clearly states in the initial literature that upon receipt of the first shipment, review and inspect
**AND**
If you do NOT want future shipments, CALL AND C ANCEL, otherwise shipments WILL continue to arrive and be billed.
Everybody needs to do themselves a favor and
R__E__A__D !

My husband received one coin, he sent $145.00 thinking he was getting four coins for that price. When he called the company to inquire about the remaining coin he was told one coin cost $145.00. He then mentioned they were a scam quickly he was disconnected. This company is truly a scam.
I fell for these coin company scams. Let me inform you all now, they offer nice items and collections, but don't fall for them you can buy the coins that they offer to you so much cheaper from your local coin shops. I was collecting kennedy proof coins they was charging $20.00 per coin for same coins I could get at local coin store for $3.50 so please don't fall for the scams.
i need them to stop sending me flyers
The year is 2016 and I too received letters stating I owed money for a silly coin that I never ordered. In fact, I never heard of this company prior to receiving payment demand letters. I suggest anyone dealing with these bottom feeders contact the office of the Connecticut Attorney General's office. Here is the link to the Connecticut consumer fraud complaint form: http://www.ct.gov/ag/lib/ag/consumers/complaintform20141015.pdf
There is an attorney in the AG's office that has existing complaints on file for this company. Her name is Sandra Arenas and she can likely help you solve your issue.
If everyone complains and contacts Sandra, perhaps we can save some future person the trouble of getting suckered into this PCS Scam.
My fiance just received a package from this so called "PCS Stamps & Coins" today ( 12/29/16 ). Enclosed was what i would call a letter of bullcrap/nonsense talking about a "luxurious collection that he and his family will treasure for years to come", along with two dimes in which they referred to in their statement as being " A Century of U.S. Silver Dimes " as they say are stunning and not to mention 90% silver and worth good money...yeah right! They said the one dime is a 1935 Mercury Dime and the other one is a 1964 Roosevelt Dime. Looking at the both of them they look to be worn out dimes if you ask me..one of them is so worn down you can barely make out, even looking closely at it, the markings or even print on it. Upon receiving them today my fiances initial thought at first was that he maybe won them somehow until he pulled out the second sheet of info that was also enclosed and seeing that it was a letter for billing and payment. They are now trying to charge him for the coins in which he nor myself ever asked for or even ordered in the first place and are expecting a payment for the two in the amount of $31.90...$28.90 for the coins themselves and an additional $3.00 for shipping and service for something we have no desire or interest in. I knew from the get go this had to be a scam! It came with an envelope to send in the payment so we're putting everything back in that envelope including the coins and sending everything back as we received it along with a personal letter that we are not interested and to please not send us nothing else. The lengths people go and the things they do to scam people for money while trying to sell them a false dream is just beyond ridiculous and needs to be stopped! I hope nobody falls for this crap and ends up losing out on all their hard earned money..this is for sure a scam and that i can pretty much promise! Hopefully someone takes action! As for us we are documenting and taking photos from here on out and if it shall continue then we will be involving law enforcement for further action as we tried handling it the nice way first. Thanks everyone and Happy Holidays to you all! :-)
You can't play nice with these guys I've found and they are hard to get rid of. We just want them to stop billing us for $29 for pennies we didn't order! Felt like I was talking to a brick wall with their customer rep. Not sure what to do at this point, so frustrated and it takes a lot to frustrate me. I'm like tempted to just pay the darn $29 to get them off our backs, but it's the principle.
I have never had any problem with PCS and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company.
I've been purchasing coins from them for quite a while and I have only good things to say about them. You can buy coins from e-bay but PCS coins are certified. I never found any false advertising in their adds, they clearly state the price per coin and the frequency of sending the coins out.
You just haven't been burned by them yet. My husband dealt with them and received what he ordered and everything was fine until they sent him something he didn't order and now we can't get them off of our backs. Ruthless bunch of jerks to be very rude to what was formerly a good client of theirs. Good luck!
The exact thing has happened to me...unsolicited receipt of one SACAGAWEA GOLDEN DOLLAR and an invoice for $18.00+...are they out of their ever loving f--king minds? How can a company that has been in business since 1970 and doing this type of SCAM still be in business...
They send you a misleading flyer saying they can send you some rare coins but do not mention the fact there is a monthly cost or that they will ship you anything.
Cancel asap. Sign of a desperate company. If they asked for money before shipping the product, I doubt many people would buy it.
I am having the same problem with them. I ordered what I thought was one coin for $19.99. They charged me $19.99 each. Well, I threw them in the draw and chalked it up to lesson learned. Well, I got three more "shipments" of coins and my husband put them in the drawer. We didn't realize we were being charged for them. When we realized they were $47.95 a coin, I called and told them we wanted to return the coins. We were told only the two most recently received could be returned. I told them that we didn't order the coins and after much agrument I was told to return the two coins just received and the other 6 coins. I took a picture of the coins on top of the box. So the box with 8 coins went back. I was credited for two coins. I called today and they are saying I sent coins back that were past their return policy and that they only received two coins and the box. No one seems to know what happened to the other six coins. It is too late to dispute on my credit card. What do I do ?

Hello,
My father received a few letters from PCS addressed to me at his home address. I haven't lived there in over 10 years but every now and again, junk mail will show up there for me. He usually just trashes it. He opened these and then asked if I had any bills for coins going to his house. I had never heard of these coins / PCS Stams and Coins so I cave them a call. The lady I spoke with was very kind and understanding. She updated the account to indicate that I didn't live at the address and that the coins were never received. I believe she got me squared away.
Sorry to anyone who had negative experiences. I don't know how I got on their list with such an old address but was happy at how painless it was to clear the matter up.
I told you people OVER a year ago this person DOES NOT live here and yet...I keep getting his JUNK Mail. How STUPID are this companies employees. Please tell everyone why you people DON'T understand what " DON'T LIVE HERE "anymore MEANS.
PCS Coins & Stamps sends unsolicited coins to vulnerable elderly citizens along with a bill for virtually worthless merchandise that was never ordered. This is an unfair and deceptive business practice that must be stopped. My client has instructed me to initiate a class action lawsuit against PCS, which is actually:
MBI, Inc.
Michael R. Wilbur
17 Collinswood Road
Wilton, CT 06897
A Delaware Corporation headquartered and licensed in Connecticut under CT Business ID: 0028695.
If this company has victimized your elderly loved one, please contact your local state attorney general's consumer protection department and provide the above-referenced company information.
Same thing happening to us. When I asked for proof that he ordered them, they sent me a copy of a form showing he did not affix some stamp with a PIN number on it and when I told the lady that this is proof he did not agree to it, she got hostile and basically got off the phone with me because she said she had been talking to me for 19 minutes. Well, yeah, because I was telling her she sent me something that proved he did not order them but yet she kept repeating herself about the sticker on the top right hand corner, there was no sticker! He doesn't even collect pennies and they want $29 for something we didn't even order. When we did get the pennies we did not order, we actually paid to return them a month ago with a letter asking them to take us off their mailing list and we did not order them. She said they did not receive them and that the mail is slow because some people still hadn't received their Christmas cards! This is March 3! My husband is 78 and I think it is very true that they take advantage of the elderly. SCAM!
Thank you! We are just about to do that!
I ordered a half dollar they advertised online for $16, just to check quality. When I got the coin it was of very poor quality so I kept it and forgot it. Next month they sent 2 more half dollars and billed me $46.95. I never ordered them. So I called them and asked them to never send me anything again. Also very poor quality. Eleven days later I get a bill for another $46.95 it stated that I received 5 coins total. Don't ever order anything from this company for they are a huge rip-off. Their bill was inconsistent with what I received and I cancelled my credit card payment. I have about 60 Morgan and several Peace dollars and a few half dollars. None of which I paid anything close to what they charge for them. SKIP THIS COMPANY!
PCS Coins and stamps came to my house and raped my dog. They raped him and took him away by a small man on a tricycle. I ran after him but I couldn't keep up. I miss ole Sparky I never seen him again. DAMN YOU PCS!
The posting above was posted by me, nadine apo not Dennis DeMartelaere. How did that happen is beyond my brain? aloha
Just wondering why all of these complaints here, couldn't agree with you all more because we are now a victim of these scammers but why nothing on the BBB site - I didn't see one single review or complaint. Just curious. I may be submitting one soon. Thanks.
I was sent a coin in the mail with a bill to pay a little over $25 within a week when I didn’t even order this! I immediately called the number and it asked for my order # which was on the form sent to me.. I entered it and cancelled any further shipments but I don’t want this dang coin and I don’t see how they can send me a bill and wreck my credit over something I knew nothing about! Customer service thinks it’s funny and is no help at all! Ugh.. I’ll be reporting this just like others have stated.
I'm not really interested in that
How do I go about returning these coins?

Out of the blue we were sent to coins that we never ordered and they bill for almost $30! Let me know if you want to deal with this in the next couple days or if I should contact the BBB. And this says this will be my first to shipment if I receive another we will definitely have an issue contact me ASAP.!
Not an ethical company. Bills you for shipments and collections not ordered.
