Pep Stores Lack of communication, poor customer service, no updates regarding repairs, delayed for 3 months without any feedback

On the 24th of november 2022 I sent in my hisense e30 lite for repair regarding a faulty battery that exploded in my hand I was told it will be sent in for repairs and will take 4 to 6 weeks there was no communication from any of the staff or managers regarding my repair I kept following up by calling only to get no reply and on the 09 of january 2023 I got a response from the supervisor saying that they are unable to track the device. Ever since then I kept calling numerous times times with the same excuse I also visited the branch numerous times it is the same excuse I refuse to wait any longer.

Desired outcome: an immediate refund

Pep Stores One trainee cashier on till on payday 25 January

I went to Pep Barberton in Crown Street today on 25 January. There was only one trainee cashier available on the till, while there was a cue of over ten people standing to be helped. The trainee was struggling alone to help the people while there was one employee walking in the store around on her cellphone talking, not even trying to assist and another cashier walking with her friend in private dress... Helping her with her stuff she was purchasing and with some cold drink. She even then took her in at the back of the till at register to help her ring up the stuff she took while the other people were cuing and complaining while they had to wait to be helped. I asked for the manager but she was sitting in the office and didn't even bother to come out to attend to the matter.

Pep Stores I got the pepstore key on the door and return it

I sincerely have a matter to complain with or news to give as a feedback to the company which I have already talked with the Acting Manager Nonnie Leboea from Hertzogville.
Last week on Wednesday night I found the PEP STORE key on the door, taking risk for saving the Acting Manager and the Company not to loss the products and have cases also for the manager not to be warned or dismissed and save her job, and I returned it early in the morning. So I have asked for a reward of money because of my struggling and looking forward to be called because I've been applying, and just to say thank you for helping me or the company, she agreed and I didn't specify how much we will ask because thinking of her and her family, my partner whom I found the key with asked her to think of how much is she going to give us, she thanked us and said we must come the following day and gave us R150 while we are both unemployed, we don't have nothing in our lives, we need to go back to school or have employment, not to be cruel or being greedy (unfair treatment) towards her and the company. We both have had positive thoughts that we will be fine for this month even though it's not gonna be enough from her and if we send the message to the company it was going to be better maybe, maybe not (having doubts) disappointment.

We weren't satisfied with R150 she gave us, while we both have positive thoughts that might give us atleast R500 or more, I didn't eat that night because of most of people here in our area normally love taking advantage of others while they don't care as long as their happy in their lives. I decided not to do anything but only my partner being sad and disappointed for the reward, he wanted to report her to the head office because of disappoints, I disagree with him and asking him to give her some time to think better after thanking us. I didn't need manager to be dismissed but asking for the reward and didn't depend on her to much but asking for help for this month. I wouldn't mind if she gave me R500 because even See sassa R350 that we don't even receive every month is better than what she gave us.

She could have payed so much money to pay the lawyers and being fired, if it wasn't because of us.
This is what she said when my partner wanted to report her to the head office on Monday: "I have already reported to the company about the incidence and waiting for the manager or office to call for a warning or a dismissed".
I said "its not what I needed from you even though you reported from the manager, I am saving you and the company also have asked to be saved", if it was someone else who got the keys, the company was going to loss lot of money than having the profit and plus the load shedding is too much nowadays, it was gonna be a lot than its less and saved like now, and remember how cruel people are! To have satisfaction and being greedy to each other but only being loyal to her and the company. Am really disappointed that's why I decided to send the message. Painful thing is that she manage to help with lending her colleagues money for the Pep Store Event after few days

Instead of I whom struggles with basic needs and rather on people who just want to have fun. Please help because you might loss next time.

I'm the customer at pep for more than 30 years.

On the 17th of January 2023 I went at pep store in Shoprite center at 11h05.As it is this time of the year most of the parents are busy buying school clothes and stationary for their kids.

When I came inside it was very full and the maximum temp was 31° and the heat inside the shop you will be sure that they switched the heater ON.I was with my pregnant younger sister nevertheless I ask the Manager to the to the assistant staff then she showed me.

I read her name badge and her name was Nomalusi, I greeted her by mentioning her name and I called her Noma, I noticed that there is only one cashier while the shop is too full and it's very hot.

I waited for her for 2 min while she was explaining to the light complexion man with bluewish golfer that he must not buy the 3quire book at pep because its cheaper at shoprite because it's R16 at the shop(pep) while its R13 at shoprite and she mentioned his name its when I noticed that they know each other.

Ahe replied me with an attitude then I remind her that im talking with her nicely and ahe supposed to answer me we respect. She said they are on lunch (kaloku) the facial expression was not good at all.

I went back to the line and try to explain to my pregnant little sister that the manager gave me attitude. The man that she was talking with came to the queue and shouted at me and tell me that I'm lying of course I expected that from him becouse he is the one that told to go and buy somewhere.

He told me to just go and buy somewhere if I don't want to stand on the queue.

I'm sure that there are cameras on your shop that will be my witness.

My mistake was to ask Why we habe only one cashier while the shop is full.

Pep Stores Bultfontein freestate manager

The manager of Bultfontein Pep Stores is very rude

First of all she never greets customers. Specially when you Afrikaans speaking

I just had an altercation with her. She spoke to me in Sesotho than I told her I dont understand, She than said with an attituded she also dont know my langauge. She is a public servant she is supposed to accommodate me in the dominant language of South Africa, wich is English. I asked to make an exchange then she said I cant the shop is to full. I understand that. I asked her if I can just check if the books I needed yesterday is already packed out like the shop assistant told me yesterday. I dont want to buy. I just wanted to check if it is there so that I can come back later. She said no. So I saw the shop assistant who I spoke with the previous day. I asked her if she packed out the books already, before she could answer the manager jump infront and talk and pushed me out of the door. I said I just need information if it is there or not, so that I know I must look somewhere else.

I also worked at a Pep Stores before and I know the treatment that manager gave me is absolutely not Peps Stores PRIDE AND MORALS!

Pep Stores Forest hill city pep home

I just went to pep home at forest hill mall, I do go there often and buy lots of products there. Today will be my last trip to any off your shops. I went in and got a rack and two desk stands and wanted a other ask for it and then we saw the roof was leaking called them showed the tell leak help then put bins there to catch the water that was coming in, I then when to go pay as they where done ringing up all my items, I asked for my table. The lady that was ringing up said they did not go and get it yet and she is not going to get it, she cancelled my transaction and said to the other costumer she will help them I asked her how can you do that she said she will not go get stuff from the back I said could I speak to a manager Valley said she is the manager, I said how can I ask to get something and you said you have and then will not go get it from storage room? I then asked can I pay for my stuff she said no they have already cancelled my transaction! The tells her colleagues I am white trash! I will never support any pep store again

Pep Stores Customer service

On the 22nd December I visited the PEP store at Centurion Lifestyle Centre. There was only one cashier available and a queue full of customers. When I asked if she could call another cashier, she didn't even acknowledge my request, just shouted for someone who then stood around for a few minutes before opening another till. When I commented, they have no idea about customer service, she completely ignored me.

Please train your staff in customer service. They are unfriendly and totally oblivious about helping customers.

Pep Stores Phone

I bought a an itelv4 phone 3 days back with vodacom locked sim1 i asked the seller if other network will work and he said only on sim2 i have inserted mtn but data doesnt work for sim2 i got back there and explain since vodacom network doesnt function on my area i needed the exchange for another network and they refused now im stuck with an unfunctional phone, please your workers must explain everything thouroughly before selling its not fair for us customers what threy are doing what should i do now i have school work which requires internet

Pep Stores Bad customer service

Hi sir/madam,my name is petronella,i went to taung pep on 06/12/2022 i went to pay dstv around 12h41,the cashier name lebo called next! When i reach on her till i greet she kept quiet she started ignoring me,i asked can i pay? she said can u wait a bit im busy,i asked her can i go to another till?then she said what are you paying?i said dstv.and then she said give me your id.when i was busy taking out the id she tells me to wait she was not suppose to help me i must go to another till.on the next till i found the cashier name tshidi,tshidi was also coppying the attitude from lebo.this two cashiers they are very rude no manners,im not happy at all.

Desired outcome: I would like an apology from both of them,they musnt undermine customers.

Pep Stores Cashier by the name of Cordelia

Good day

I'd like to lay a complaint of poor service from your cashiers at Westgate mall not pep home.

I was assisted by a cashier (Cordelia) who was unprofessional. I was collecting my paxi parcel and paying other goods. She's helping a customer. while staring at her colleague next to her and laughing not to mention eating biscuits while busy with the customer.

This happened on the 16th November 2022 at around 3:35pm.

If they could have the same great service like the ladies working pep home ground floor they are friendly and offer the best service ever

Desired outcome: Take her back for training

Pep Stores Pep money transfer

I am here to lay a complaint. I went to Pep on the 15th of November in Thokoza to transfer money for my daughter who is at school and needing the money but before she could withdraw the money it seems like someone had withdrew it. It confusing because it not the first time this happened so can you please intervene before otherwise and perform an investigation with the imployees

Pep Stores A mobile phone purchased at pep home in Meadowdale

So I was in need of a work phone so I went to PEP HOME in Meadowdale, the lady that assisted me there couldn't explain to me what she meant 1. by guarantee and the warranty provided. 2 she tells me that the mobile has a 7-day Guarantee and a 12-month Warranty. I asked to elaborate further on what she meant by this, she replies and says do not exchange mobiles purchased from there store even in 7 days and that the mobile will be taken in for repairs. This is puzzling for me because there SLIP it states "Faulty handsets may be exchanged provided it (1) is within 7 days from selling date, (2) has not been physically damaged, is returned in its original packaging, accessories and proof of purchase. so maybe my understand of this clause is different to hers? furthermore now I going through the mobile and I find numbers belonging to people I don't know, my assumption is that it was returned to the store for reasons unknown to me. So, I'm really not sure what is going to happen if I encounter a problem while using it. The phone has contacts like"MAMA KA LE"and"LOVE"imagine the kind of damage this could have create if I got home and my partner saw contacts like"LOVE" under a number not registered to her. Can I please get clarity on the aforementioned wording and if my understanding of what is written then training needs to be given to the Staff there

Desired outcome: I would like clarity on the PEP policy regarding return of faulty mobile phones, and to find out if PEP standards allow for the resale of returned mobile phones. If yes, then why is the mobile not clear of the previous user's data

Pep Stores I want my ID number to be removed from Pep system so that I can be able to open an account where I want.

About 2 months ago I tried to open an account in another clothing store and I was told that I have a pending application with Pep. I called Pep customer care and I was told that it's because they called me to open an account with them which I didn't hence the system is saying I have a pending application. So I told them that I'm still NOT interested and I asked them to remove my ID number in their system... I was told that a manager will call me. It's almost 2 months now every time I call them they saying a manager will call me. I feel like this is how the fraud happens becoz I've never wanted their account & they are the one who called me to open their account which I don't want. And why now is it difficult for them to remove my ID number in their system. And I told them that I've been waiting for their manager to call me but no one called. I've been waisting my time & money almost every week to go to Pep trying to solve this issue but no luck.

I am NOT interested to open a Pep account... PLEASE remove my ID number in your system

Pep Stores To exchange item without a receipt but the tag is there

On the 23 September I bought an item at Pep Somerset mall I accidentally took size 32 instead of 36. I went to Khayelitsha mall opposite Khayelitsha court and a cashier said I can't exchange without a receipt and I requested to speak to a manager Zola said I can't that's his rule and it might happen that I stole the item I need to go back home to get a receipt. He has attitude and was shouting. I have been to different stores I have exchanged items without a receipt I'm not sure if we are being undermined since it's in a location or is it because we don't know retail rights. Since when does a big company allow a manager to apply his own rules what happen to that thing of an employee represent the company or brand

Pep Stores Service im complaining about

I went to pep Protea Gardens to laybey gown and pjs and one caisher sent me to the other the one who was about to assist me than said no man i cant do laybey of 2 thing no way its just waste of time and they kept on with the conversation while im waiting to be served. Its truly hurt me as im a client and cant be treated as if my money its not important 😪 😔.

Pep Stores Service

I was @ Protea Gardens Pep on Tuesday the 19th. I asked to buy airtime. The cashier there just looked @ me busy with her Facebook. After she was done the she asked me what I want. With the attitude n no customer care like I disturbed her. I tried showing her that if only she served me 1st n went to her fb later. She just looked @ me.

I bought the airtime cos I desperately needed it. Otherwise I would have left to buy it next door. She showed no shame or apologized never instead she was so so angry to serve me. I don't have a pr as to what she was doing but to ignore me playing fb.

Desired outcome: Please at least let the cashiers serve us with dignity then do their things after.

Pep Stores Refund and customer service training

The service i got at springs mall on Tuesday 05/07/2022 at around 12h30 was bad and with the cashier chewing something in her mouth and the manager chatting with her friend me asking for my layby without a slip that was due on the 22/08/2022 that was on my dairy which i wanted to take out and was told its not on the systems as i did not make regular payment every month i should bring a copy of my id and the original id as a proof so that they can give me my refund back with that experience spoiled my day and will not recommend anyone to shop at pep home they got bad attitude and lack of respect to their customers please assist

Pep Stores Refuse to refund money for Laybye

Greetings

I'm Nompilo Mdlalose with cellphone no. [protected] I failed to finish paying for my laybye before it's expired and later on I went to the Paulpietersburg store to ask for my laybye refund the lady by the name Gladys Mdlalose was so disrespectful towards me, she had an audacity to tell me that Pep is not a bank they don't keep people's money 😒 I was so offended today I decided to return again and spoke to Management Zanele she boldly told me that once the laybye expires no money is given to a customer worse part I don't even have a slip to proof, she really didn't bother even to check with the computer system so this really upset me because this is my money 😢 I'm a regular customer at Pep but the employees are not treating us as we are supposed to be treated, should you not consider to act with the old Pep at Paulpietersburg the brand will lose its reliable customers like myself

Pep Stores Layby complain

I made a layby at daveyton pep store and the lady that was helping did not tell me the terms and conditions, she said my last pay out will be July 2022.

On 18 May 2022 I went to take my layby out, the teller told me that I can't find my layby it already sold out and I ask her when it was due? she said July, I asked how come it sold? she said it was take out on 16 May 2022 to sell it and I asked but my due date was July. I am here before that time, she gave me back the money that I used to make the layby.

My son winter clothes I didn't get it and today it cold my son don't have winter clothes because of pep store

Layby that I didn't not get and couldn't find even find help from the supervisor of the store so I am not happy with the service!

Desired outcome: If I can get my layby because it was my son clothes for winter and my mother boots for them to be warm, maybe they should have keep it for the week and see if the person that made a layby will come and make pay out or make a call
