Petco review: Bulk cat litter excessive dust

We have bought the Petco bulk cat litter for over 15 years. This issue started in about Feb. 2024. The dust from the bulk cat litter travels way away from the litter box—25 feet or so. It is thick. All over surfaces—not tracked by the 2 cats but aerosolized. Our litter box is in a bathroom. Dust goes out into adjacent rooms.This is hazardous to humans and pets who breathe in this stuff. Bulk litter is sold to customers who scoop it out from a bin into their own containers and then pay at the register. We changed to dust free litter but the cats are having none of that….I have sent 4 emails. Petco always responded but no action that I can discern has been taken. I specifically asked if they had changed vendors. No response. The store manager says many customers are complaining but corporate has not taken action at the store level. Need to research contacting the health department.
