Garnishment sent with no certified letter.
I received numerous letters in my mail box from attorney's offering to file a chapter 7. These letter stated that Prestige Financial was ready to garnish my wages. I called them right away to request documentation or proof of the judgement or garnishment. I was informed several times that they would provide a letter that I have yet to receive. I was asked by my attorney to get documentation from the. They are garnishing my wages with no prior notice and they claim it's for 31,000 I do not agree that a repossessed car should be this amount. They are totaling allowed to violate the consumer's rights. I've noticed a lot of people have sued them in the past.
Desired outcome: I would like the documentation certified to my home just like the federal law requires and the amount to be investigated.

I Eric Jenkins purchase a 2018 kia Sportage for Jim Butler Chevrolet which was finance through Prestige paying a car not of $479 a month i was making the payments on time for a while but i ran into some financial problems but never stop paying toward my car note even when my car was stolen twice leaving damage that i couldn't afford to get fix but made sure i paid toward that note i was very please that sometimes Prestige was working with me even if if it was maybe 30 days late which i really try not to be but things happen . I never neglect sending in a payment . but here recently on 8/23 i received a inappropriate text in regardes on how i planning to catch up on my payment and they see it's been paying a month behind for a while now . I found that to be very negative on they behalf representing of this company not knowing what a person is enduring to keep roof over they head and food on the table but still manage to pay something it's very discouraging .

2010 ford escape
I purchase a 2010 Ford Escape November 2014 from Don Chalmers, Rio Rancho NM and was assigned to Prestige Financial as my loan company. I had a newborn the year prior and needed a vehicle higher up as I’ve been dealing with Chronic Back Pain and it was better to lift my daughter from a higher vehicle. I sold my 2012 Ford Fusion which I had gotten at 5.39% APR in 2012 brand new so I’m not sure why my APR was 19.5% with this company. The Escape had 5 recalls which I didn’t realize before purchasing and my final straw was it cutting off in the middle of I-95 in Maryland with a child. Our safety was endangered several times and I’ve had repairs done on the vehicle. I needed a reliable vehicle and couldn’t not afford to keep paying for repairs. I owed more on the vehicle than what it was worth still after 4 years so dealerships would not allow a trade. I purchased a newer and reliable vehicle in 2018 and requested Prestige pick up the Escape. They sold it for $3.5K and say I still owe over $9K. I’ve paid over $20.4K and this has destroyed my credit. I’m Active Duty military and can’t buy a home because of my credit. I do believe I was taken advantage of as a young divorced single mom and reality didn’t sink in until I got much older and realizing it as I need better credit to live a better life.
I attached an email of how I was talked to. I was facing an Article 15 Disciplinary Action as well as preparing to head to Afghanistan during this time. I didn’t have the physical energy nor mental capacity to fight back I continued to make payments for 3 more years totaling over $20K.
Desired outcome: To have this debt erased from my credit.

I have read nearly every complaint against PRESTIGE FINANCIAL SERVICES on this platform and only 1 was similar to this one. Your issues are all similar and are very important when it comes to how you were treated. However, I personally believe that the issues brought against them should not be expressed as to what they did against you but what they "did not " do for you as a consumer according to law. I can just about guarantee that they "did not" disclose to either of us that we had the absolute legal right to "Rescind the Agreement" pursuant to the law. They "must" disclose this information (amongst a whole number of other things lawfully that wasn't disclosed) because they know that the agreements you enter into with them as a consumer are unlawful. They
depend upon your ignorance to those laws, making it easy to ignore your issues. I suggest that each of you should consider arbitration or litigation in court (if applicable), but not on what they did to you, but what they did not do for you as a consumer, according to law. In your pursuit, you will find that your mistreatment from them means very little, unless, you enforce your rights via the law.

I have a loan with them that was taken out in December of 2014. The car was taken back and sold. Which brought my account down somewhere near 7000.
This company has charged off, written off as a profit & loss. This past year they even had it listed as a loss under the pandemic. But that is now off my credit report.
The loan is now up to 22898. That is what they are saying l owe them now. Double the original loan!
Every month they report to the credit bureaus a late pymnt. This has destroyed my credit. It's the main thing that has dragged it down.
I have thought about bankruptcy but then l go back & forth with myself for just this one thing.
They are unscrupulous they have tried to bully me for money when all l have is my disability. Their tactics should be against the law and something should be able to be done about it.

I had a similar experience with this company. The vehicle I had a two recalls for transmission issues. The vehicle was taken back to the Ford dealership, and after speaking with the dealership it was determined the car was unsafe to drive. Traded it in. Was told it would be a payoff. That was fine, but Prestige sent a fax to the dealership and it stated the car was damaged from an Act of God...a blatant lie. This company should be out of business. Now they want to charge me $7000+ or make a full payment of $5000+. They are tempting to garnish my wages. I think I will sue them. This company just takes customers money, they don't care about the customers and SHOULD be out of business. Should file a class action lawsuit.
Same situation in 2014 car purchased, had a verbal contract in 2017 on a friday to enter good faith payment plans to renew loan and Saturday it was repo, told on Monday so sorry the note to the repo company was not sent in error by Ginger. She said all old interest plus bank repo fees had to be paid to get it out. Ginger said just let it sell and should wipe out the debt never heard anything after that. They sold at auction for 6500, and in 2020 judgement for 12k. Been charged 14k in interest for and still owe 3k on the car wages been garnished for 7k this cant be legal.
Consumer protection/non-disclosure
Purchase vehicle 6/2020. When asked about warranty I was told Kia warranty follwed car. June 2021 car failed -would not move after placing in park. There were no "warranty" privileges remaining per Kia, nor any recalls listed for the car. Had certified mechanic look at it and he referred me to a certified transmission specialist . The transmission specialist discovered the problem was due to code error (U1101 or something of that nature) which denoted Transmission Communication Module issue (TCM). A new TCM was ordered KIA was contacted for module reprogramming, per guidelines, for code in-put to make new module operable. Attempt was unsuccessful. I attempted to trade car in at two dealerships (one of them was a Kia dealership) using equity as down-payment but discovered on Credit report car was listed as "Natural/Declared Disaster". Additionally, credit report list car as base cost of 14K yet still owing 13K after the 12 mos plus down-payment. Car Fax report showed right front collision with air bag deployment which was NEVER disclosed to me. The TCM module is located in right front fender area of vehicle. Once this information was discovered at Kia dealership and other car dealership to trade in for a new car neither dealership would/could not take the car for equity or trade in so I had no car, no way to work. I am stuck with a car inoperable and unfixable. I am 60 years old looking to rebuild my credit after suffering a job loss at a late age and trying to preserve the remaining time I have to build some retirement (social security). I have no expendable income and surely can't pay for a car that I cannot drive to work. The car should never have been sold nor financed by Prestige without full disclosure of the car fax information along with the information of it being listed as (a) "Natural Declared Disaster".

My car was totaled almost a year ago and I'm still making payments. I have been ripped off. After the insurance, gap, and dealership has paid I still have to pay. I was told it was because of interest but I've made payments on time. I spoke to the VP of the company and he was not willing to work with me at all.
I've been out of work for two months. I am not going to be able to make payments and have not received any alternate options.
Repossessed car auto loan interest rate
I was stupid and signed a car loan with them as the loan company in 2012, Purchased the 2010 Nissan Versa from Kia Of Augusta, Augusta Ga. Payment was 475.00 I think a month, really can't remember exact amount. in 2014 or 2015 it was repossesed, I was very nice to the repo man and there was no problem. I had asked several times if they could refinance my loan for a lower interest rate they wouldn't hear it, She said it was her car now and laughed.
The car was sold to me for 12 or 13, 000 after reposesion I still owe 23, 490 dollars after auction sold the car for 5000 dollars. It's on my credit report and the last time they reported was in July of 2019 so it's never going away. Can you help me or atleast point me in a good direction?

Hello my name is Tressa Gordwin. Easton an Account Manager at Prestige Financial in UTAH call me yesterday about a payment. I call a week ago to tell them about my situation that I had miscarriage and the doctor put me on bed rest no work for a week so let that being said not able to work. I ask the lady I spoke with a week ago can they give me more time to pay until I get back to work. She gave me time and if I had anymore problems let them know. Ok . Mr Easton call demanding a payment from me. I know Prestige Financial records every customer conversation the record said so. Well I need for the President or the owner of the company to hear how he spoke to me very rude, Disrespectful, radical my character, being very discriminating. I never experience such behavior. I know this company or person do not care about there customer situation but I have been through a lot from losing my husband ( pass away ) than the Hurricane losing everything plus on top of that miscarriage. This person Mr Easton doesn't have no compassion for no one he should not be around Society at all. I will be taking further action against this person and company. I have supported information to back my end up as well. (Litigation)

I wonder why and how this company is surviving. They should be shutdown. And the people they hire are Ridiculous and very rude. That's part of collections. They say one thing but do another. I am 15 days late with my car payment, due to pneumonia. I explained this to my account manager. Of course she said, sorry Mrs. Jackson your account is to new for arrangements. She keep leaving me messages claiming she can help me get on track. Now my account is being revised, (whatever that mean) so I have to speak with some other lady. By the way everytime I call I ask to speak with the lady the account manager answers and said the lady busy. Im trying to tell the lady I will be making the payment tomorrow, but she wanted for me to pull the money out of my ### today! Im not being threatened with repossession I think. They said my account is being revised, whatever that mean!
Constant Harassment
These people are ridiculous! I have only made my 2nd payment on my car and already they have called me more than my best friend. I get 6-10 voicemails days before the payment is due and email reminders. I have asked them constantly to stop as this is harassment and you know what they said "set up auto pay and we will leave you alone" WOW! How professional is that?! Be VERY warned about this company. I would never suggest this company to my worst enemy. If you need a car and you have to risk walking 10 miles in -8 weather and snow, or getting a car from them, walk in the snow. I have never been so harassed by a company in my life. Considering filing a harassment suit on them. Can't handle much more.
Auto Payment Made after account was closed
We bought a new car and our old car financed through Prestige was paid off. A few days after buying the car, I checked my Prestige account which was locked. I was confident that the account was closed and that they would not withdraw a payment. One week later they did just that. My husband called them and was treated like garbage. He was told that they would issue a check 30 days after the payment was taken and then the man hung up on my husband. I called and was told that this was their policy and that I should have stopped the auto pay. Not an apology, but blaming me for the issue. So instead of having over $400 in my account collecting interest, they have it in their account collecting interest. How convenient!
So their policy is to take money from a closed account, blame the customer, hang up on you and then wait 30 days to send them a check for their mistake. This is the type of company you are dealing with, please avoid them at all cost.

I purchased a 2012 Toyota campy se may 2012.
There was an accident where the vehicle was totaled on June 29, 2014. I paid my
first payment that was do in June 2014 just before my accident. On July 8, 2014
prestige sent a letter that states my payoff is $26, 540.04. My insurance sent
prestige a check the last week of August 2014 for $21, 426.97 and the gap
insurance paid $4, 259.01 September 2014. The gap claim was completed September
3, 2014, gap received the payoff quote dated august 27, 2014 for $26, 120.98.
Also stating my insurance paid $21, 426.97 . I received a letter dated September
17, 2014 from gap confirming they paid. Prestige contacted me not to inform me
the gap was in process but to harass me and threaten me. I contacted the gap and
found out they paid there amount but that the balance prestige is giving me
after the insurance and gap paid doesn't match the payoff amount prestige gave
gap and it was valid 10 days the python was received within the 10 days.
Prestige has sent me text messages of my balance due for $1254. I received a new
text on October 4 my balance was $1254 on my payment due date I've also received
text messages that I'm dud for $598. Mary Kirby at prestige stated to me on
october 7, 2014 she was not discussing my account and that I owed for July Aug
Sept and October. I informed mary that prestige cannot add any additional
payments every month to my account when they have received $25, 685.98 of the
payoff amount $26, 540.04. When I stated that I could not make a payment at the
end of august mary Kirby got upset at me told me since your refusing I know you
work for santander and your aware this will charge off. I have not received any
letters from prestige that they have received the payments from the insurance
company nor gap. The balance after $25, 685.98 should have been $854.06 not
$1254. But based on the payoff prestige gave my gap insurance of $26, 120.98 on
August 27, 2014 subtracting the insurance payment of $21, 426.97 the balance
should have been $435. Granted I do work for Santander I also know that anything
outside of the principal/interedt cannot just be kept it has to be applied to
the balance. I don't understand why prestige is doing this or if they just want
more money but when they will explain things to me and get upset there's an
issue. What can I do since they are non cooperative on explaining what they have
done? All the amounts given do not match up.

Refuses to validate payments made not credited

Inc. Salt Lake City, UT (a Larry H. Miller Company, local) holds my auto loan.This company does not follow any of the consumer protection and collection laws. They contact me via text and telephone and even on letters and do not
disclose or display the “collector’s name” or provide a return phone number to reach them back. They only say “Prestige Financial” calling. My Prestige account representative, JoAnn Reiter belly laughed one day during a phone
conversation saying, "You will never pay this car off”.
This company cannot agree on what I actually owe them. I receive calls and texts daily from several people
with "different" delinquent amounts due. I performed an audit on my account and I am being charged an interest rate higher than my purchase contract. I have requested on 4 occasions for the company to review the audit I
generated, as I show payments made to them that are have not been credited. I have provided bank statements to substantiate my findings and STILL to date; company still has not and will not review for "remedy" or response.
My loan “ending balance” did not change for one (1) year even though payments were being made. I have negative journal entries on my ledger that I do not understand and company refuses to explain. Standard accounting practices are not being followed with respect to how my payments are applied. Calls have been made to people that I know "who are not listed on the loan documents as a references” Prestige somehow located and contacted a former boss (a past employer from 22 years prior in Dallas, TX) and stated to him I was not making payments and was delinquent with my loan. Other incorrect statements were made such as they had no contact information for me...demanding he provide this information to them. I assure you that Prestige Financial has all of my contact information. To add insult to injury, my former employer was even asked by the caller if he knew of or had any “dirt” on me to divulge.
This company then turns and reports erroneous information to the credit agencies...
On August 27, 2014 this company called my son's place of employment stating to employees that answered the phone that I wasn't making my car payments and was hiding the car...threating them they had better "advise" where or else, , , BLATANT VIOLATION OF federal LAWS FOR COLLECTION PRACTICES.
The list with issues goes on and on and I am not the only one this company has violated their consumer's rights.
They were very smart in the way they set up the company...they do their own collections..therefore no laws on the books apply to them and they can do ANYTHING they want to "we" poor consumers and they have...from fake lotteries to asking neighbors to look out to see if the car was in the driveway. They just updated my credit report and stated (after 3 years of embroiled combat) that they "charged off" the amount of the car purchase price...doesn't allow for any payments. This is against the FAIR CREDIT REPORTING act...right? RIGHT! Good Luck with your endeavors...already been there done that in AZ and nothing happened because Larry Miller "old AZ money" is a partner in this shameful business and pays a lot of taxes, so or Dist Attorney did and does nothing! I know how to put these clowns out of business we all quit paying them I decided to do this. You need to sue them! File a report with the collection agencies (all three) and they will get to the bottom of the actual payment due. Provide your audit to them along with all the documentation and contact information and they will reveal the exact amount due on the loan for your vehicle. They are crooks and thieves and should have a hard time sleeping at night. I wish someone would take them down!
Wishful thinking! NOPE! The credit agencies allowed for credit updates on my credit for 10 years after the statute of limitations. Go figure...Larry Miller (old AZ money) Really? The Midas Rule..he who has the gold rules and those that don't...get driven around the block without grease!
Bad practices
I am glad that someone finally disclosed christine decort for what she really is, which is a big fat bully. She likes to pretend that she is smart, but she really is someone who has very little going for her and runs a small life insruance business out of her house.
I have seen her at many events in the last year, and while she loves to be the star of the show with a glass of red wine in her hand, she fails to realize that she is associating with people who have actually accomplished something with their life.
The last job i know she had was at insurance company mass mutual, where i have a policy from. They told me she was fired for a whole bunch of reasons.
Dort really care, just tired of seeing her out slandering anyone and everybody.

Unethical practices
From the beginning I have paid over the amount due each month and some months made more than 2 payments. I recently reset up a recurring payment schedule that is twice a month.
As it turns out, because the second pymt for this month is considered by them to be "late" by a few days they are saying I am in default of my loan and are looking for a surrender of my vehicle when in fact I am ahead in my pymts. I have by contract more than 8 months of payments left but since I over paid, in reality I have only 3 months. (I now owe $1373 according to their website and my pymts are $437 per month with my loan end date to be November 2014.)
How am I in default? Keri refuses to acknowledge that I have indeed paid MORE than what is owed and that I am ahead of the schedule. Keri has stated in her emails that I am in Default and "assume you do not have intentions of resolving this so I will move forward and this treat this as a defaulted loan." Seriously? My payment date is on the 20th and they received a payment on the 18th.
I have made the additional $217.36 payment that she states is required to bring this month "current" and have asked for my payoff amount. Keri refuses to provide it to me.

Unauthorized Debits
I made payment arrangement for a final payoff and Prestige debited my account for an unauthorized payment. and after several phone calls I was told that a refund check had been issued and I would receive the overpayment within a few days, it has been almost two weeks and I'm still being told the check is in the mail. The car is paid off and I was told that I was being charged interest and that would be taken out of my refund that they stole out of my account. How can I be charged interest on a car that has been paid off. I'm still getting the run around for the duplicate payment that was stolen out of my account. I get a different response whenever I call and speak to Customer Service, then I ask to be transferred to a manager and get a totally different response of your check has been issues and is in the mail, even though the payment that was taken was never authorized, this piece of the conversation is danced around with each call. Do not use Prestige, I have had to complain to them about the representatives, calling my phone, texting my phone, calling my work and leaving me emails weather I make a payment or not. Hoping that paying off the car would resolve my issue, but no... now their stealing monies from my account.

WORST EVER
THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY EVER! I MAKE MY CAR PAYMENTS EARLY EVERY MONTH (USUALLY 2 WEEKS PRIOR). I AM ALSO ON AUTO PAY TO GET THE RATE REDUCTION. IN THE PAST 11 MONTHS, THEY HAVE TAKEN OUT DOUBLE THE CAR PAYMENT. IT IS LIKE PULLING TEETH TO GET MY REFUND. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE ARE SO RUDE AND THEY DONT NOTATE THE ACCOUNT. I HAVE BEEN WAITING TO HEAR FROM A MANAGER FOR OVER A WEEK NOW AND STILL NO REFUND. THEY KEEP TELLING ME THAT "OH YOU WILL BE A MONTH AHEAD ON YOUR CAR PAYMENT" I DONT CARE. IM NOT PAYING AN $800 CAR PAYMENT FOR THEM TO JUST TAKE OUT ANOTHER $400 ON MY NEXT DUE DATE. IT HAS BEEN OVER A WEEK AND STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY $400 BACK.

Auto thiefs
Prestige Financial Services are thieves and liars. I financed a car through them from The Kia South of Georgia and they ripped me off to the sold me a 2008 HHR as a new car they told me it was only used as a test driver at a chevy dealer, they got it special for me, because they contacted me after my bankruptcy to try and sale me a kia and I told them att the time I was not interested, so they asked what type of car I wanted I told them a new HHr the woman told me not to go anywhere else she would see if she could get one. She called me back a few days later told me she had that one, she drove it out to my home with all the paper work, no money down and all. She hand me the key no keyless entry told me she left it on her desk at the dealer. I called her days later she told me she sent it in the mail never got it, took the car to a chevy dealer to get one programed they ran a report on the car and said the car had been wreaked it was not a new car. It was from a rental place and had been wreaked. I called them could not get anyone, called Prestige spoke to a very rude man who told me to just pay on the car and shut up. Now I have female thatI never speak to I have paid on this car for 4 years, two years in while I still had Mr Rude I saw where they had me signed paper that had 9, + dollars but had other paper work showing 23, 000 dollars that I owe much more than I sign for. I have felt like a prisoner paying on this car over four years now and my balance is 7, 4 54 dollars I called to see what my pay off was and she quoted 7, 594.oo dollars, I wished that I had never bought the car from Prestige or Kia and i will never do business with them again or refer anyone to them hey are crooks and most auto dealer and auto finance companies in the south are. May be all over.
We should file a class action lawsuit against Prestige, this company needs and should be out of business.

Prestige Financial Services is an auto loan company that has no grace period on late payments they charge you 25.00 a day if late But when they make an error like my payment is due on the 23rd of each month and they are not open on weekends so they ask you to make a post payment to your account to avoid late charges.
I listened to Prestige Financial and post dated my check for the 23rd which was a Monday but they took my check and passed it through on a Friday my direct deposit doesn’t go through until Saturday so in return they caused me to bounce all the debits that i did on a Saturday when my direct deposit goes through the bank. when i called them and said you passed my check on a Friday instead of Monday like you told me you would and you caused all these problems are you going to reimburse me for these charges the guy said yes.
Well it’s 3mo later and I asked the new girl who handles my account now what about the reimbursement of these funds Her answer was oh I cant help you with that. They all work at the same company they keep all the notes because she read them back to me In my eyes this is stealing its ok for a loan company to hound you for their money but you cant get your money from them where is the justice.
All in all they said they bank at the same bank and that’s why it went through so fast what a bunch of liars.
Let's put them out of business. Class action lawsuit...This company should not be allowed to keep stealing customers money.
Prestige Financial Services are thieves and liars. I financed a car through them from The Kia South of Georgia and they ripped me off to the sold me a 2008 HHR as a new car they told me it was only used as a test driver at a chevy dealer, they got it special for me, because they contacted me after my bankruptcy to try and sale me a kia and I told them att the time I was not interested, so they asked what type of car I wanted I told them a new HHr the woman told me not to go anywhere else she would see if she could get one. She called me back a few days later told me she had that one, she drove it out to my home with all the paper work, no money down and all. She hand me the key no keyless entry told me she left it on her desk at the dealer. I called her days later she told me she sent it in the mail never got it, took the car to a chevy dealer to get one programed they ran a report on the car and said the car had been wreaked it was not a new car. It was from a rental place and had been wreaked. I called them could not get anyone, called Prestige spoke to a very rude man who told me to just pay on the car and shut up. Now I have female thatI never speak to I have paid on this car for 4 years, two years in while I still had Mr Rude I saw where they had me signed paper that had 9, + dollars but had other paper work showing 23, 000 dollars that I owe much more than I sign for. I have felt like a prisoner paying on this car over four years now and my balance is 7, 4 54 dollars I called to see what my pay off was and she quoted 7, 594.oo dollars, I wished that I had never bought the car from Prestige or Kia and i will never do business with them again or refer anyone to them hey are crooks and most auto dealer and auto finance companies in the south are. May be all over.
