Dear All. I have an entire bunch of utterly abusive offensive and threatening messages from Rak Bank. Hence my question, can I, a lady, address to some related institution and stop this nonsense. It's ridiculous, some collection executives cursing us, our families, threatening with physical violence.. It is the 21st centuary, where can I seek help with my proofs?
account opened but not received atm m card and cheque book.
I have opened my bank account nearly 15 days before. Yet to receive my opening kit ( which consist of ATM card and Cheque book). Same time i have applied for bank account opening and credit card. Funniest thing is that i got my credit card and related documents, but yet to received anything on my bank account. Contacted at least four times to call center but no use. Today I have received and SMS stating since i am not available they are not in a position to deliver their courier. For the same bank i got credit card delivered on same address, not able to understand why debit card they are not able to contact me. Whose fault it is. As a customer i have made four complaints and yet to receive any solution. Now as per their mail i need to go and collect it from bank after two days. If the mistake is lies with bank why should i go and collect it from bank. If the courier arrangement is not up to the mark of RAK bank why should customer take pain to go and collect it from bank.

I write to you on the aforementioned subject because RakBank website
has no option included to receive any complaint.
I share my worst experience here hoping that it will reach the top
management of RakBank. In Dec 2014, I applied for a fast saver account
of RakBank by 'click & collect' option where I filled all the
necessary information and chose Abu Dhabi Corniche branch to collect the card. 2
days later I received sms to collect the debit card and i was given
one month time to collect. I visited the branch in the second week of
jan 2015 and met Mr. Sujesh Surendran, the customer service officer.
After signing the necessary documents I showed him my original
passport and emirates id from which he copied for his future
reference. After a while, in an apologizing tone he said I will have
to visit the branch next day again because the account activation is
through sms and the system is down temporarily. I agreed and visited
the branch again not on next day but after a few days because I work
in airport and I cant go off often. I met the same officer again and
found that he had lost all my documents but fortunately i had not
return my passport to company so again he copied documents and had me
singed. To my surprise, he started again to apologies that the sms
activation system not working and i will have to visit the branch once
more for the last time. I explained him how difficult for me to reach
his branch due the criticality of my job and the expense to reach
there on time. because even though i took half day leave i can reach
the bus station at 2 pm then i have to take taxi to reach the branch
on before they close. he promised he will call me once the system back
to normal so i will not be returned empty hand next time. I visited
the branch again after few days as per his call. Alas ! He started
begging apologies that the system not working again and i need to
visit him again, i refused and sat there explaining him how
embarrassed i was asking my boss to leave the office for a simple bank
account. He was running here and there and informed me we will do it
and after 1 hour i received the account kit and left home like a
winner.
all above words are regarding the technical error so we cannot blame
anybody. but I'm writing this to complaint the human error what they
did to me after that.
I didn't need to use the account for 3 months because my joining to
another company plan got delayed. now I joined a new company and i
want to provide the HR the IBAN number so i checked the status of my
account online and found my account is inactive. .. i called their
customer service and they asked many security questions to which i
answered correctly buy they want me to visit any branch but i can dont
need to take my original passport which is in sharjah head office and
difficult for me. i visited their airport road branch in abu dhabi and
was told that my account is closed and they cant reopen it and they
dont know who and why it is closed. i insisted i want to know why the
account is closed and they told me the account was closed because
there is no supporting documents submitted for your account. i told
them i had given all the required documents in Corniche branch so they
advised to visit ABu Dhabi Corniche branch but informed me that Mr. Sujesh has
resigned already. i visited the branch and met the branch manager and
asked him how you can call this click & collect and explained my story
and he showed some sympathy but they couldn't find my documents. He
asked the staff to help me to reactivate my account and left but the
staff started to ask my original passport and without that they cant
help me. I showed them the original emirates id and told my passport
is in sharjah and i cant spend more money and time on this by coming
anymore but they insisted for original passport and send me back for
the forth time unsatisfied. I have spend around 75 aed and 4 half days
leave and still unhappy. please support me to get justice.

To Editor, I am a RAK BANK Sharjah. Saving Account Holder. At the Present I am in India. I made 2 transactions of 20, 000 Rupees Each through Citi Bank ATM At Canaught Place, New Delhi. India. Through my RAK BANK Debit Card. But the money did not came out of the Citi Bank ATM Machine. On 6th of August 2015 First Transaction At 5:26 PM of 20, 000/= Rupees and 2nd Transaction At 5:27 PM of 20, 000/= Rupees. Both the payment I did not received. I received a private message from my Facebook account last Feb 18, 2015. She first introduced herself as an HR personnel in a company where my brother used to work for in Dubai. When I asked her what company, she told me she didn't have anything on her database that stated the employment record of him. When I asked her that how could she claim that she is an HR personnel yet she didn't what company she works for. She started demanding for my brother's contact number, and my own contact number. She said my brother had a pending loan application. When I didn't answer back, she started cursing me, my brother and the whole of my family, gave grave threat on my son who is barely a year old. When I told her to email me and asked her to write her complaints, demands and notices, she was enraged. Finally, I received an email accusing me as "criminal" for not giving any contact information of neither me nor my brother. When I asked her to provide me an identification of her, she sent me a tampered/edited/altered ID issued by the Philippine government.
Auto loan issue almost 1 year complete
I have a pending issue of AUTO Loan Car Plate No. 76934 since [protected].
i request to transfer the registration of care to name of my company.More then 10 time i visited RAK Bank Abu Dhabi ( TCA, Stadiam, Mussafah brances).still my problem nt solve, run my Car without Registration from Traffic Police due to delay of RAKBANK autoloan services. Now my car is with police custody. I am not responsible for further installment of remain amount. Because no body is solving my issue.

RAK Bank UAE is having very discriminatory policies for Pakistani nationals. Indians, Sri Lankans, Philippines, Egyptians with following category qualify for the credit card but Pakistanis do not. It's huge discrimination.
Monthly salary AED 6, 000/-
Length of Service: Minimum 6 months
It's the criteria which #RAK #Bank #UAE issues the credit cards to other nationalities but not Pakistanis. UAE authorities must take notice of it.

I was delayed payment on credit card only for a month, im willing to pay everything and closed this credit card once my loan was release. But this agent name saleem called me using the number [protected] started shouting at me and talking so rude.he is forcing me to pay ay 6:30 evening same day. This is not the proper way of talking to costumers the fact that they are gaining monthly interest with us. I will close this card and make sure that there will be actions to this.

rak bank - fast saver is & lame loser&
If you can have 2% interest for up to AED 500k on a savings account it sounds like a very good deal. Hence, I went to the next branch and opened the Fast Saver account with RAK Bank to put in some savings and to balance the inflation with the interest.
The accountant did not provided me a business card and did also not informed on my account number. All I had in hand was the initial cash deposit receipt with an account number of the bank itself. Okay, I thought, once I receive my welcome kit I will get all the remaining details. - My welcome kit never arrived.
After some weeks of waiting, I called the hotline to get a status of my account opening and they were not able to help, because they could not verify me as they had typing errors in my details. I was told to visit the branch again spending my high value free time.
In my opinion this is a complete failure of RAK Bank: They simply did not performed the agreed task of opening an account and providing related facilities to the customer. I consider this as a breach of agreement.
After researching all the complaints against RAK Bank on www.complaintsboard.com and www.rakbankdead.blogspot.ae I lost all my initial trust and decided to visit the branch and to close the account:
- How can I enjoy an interest while knowing how bad and incompetent this bank seemingly treats other customers and employees?
- Wouldn't I risk to support unethical business by depositing my savings there?
So I went and closed the account. And of course, I was sucked as all the other customers which complained before, as I had to pay them an account closure fee for their incompetence and non-performance.
However, I am very delighted now, having account closure documentation in hand and knowing not to deal with RAK Bank anymore.
Please be warned and better stay with any other bank. Waiving some tenths of interest is way better than having the haedache to deal with incompetent RAK Bank putting all your savings at risk. ;-)
havent received my rak value vouchers
I had contacted customer care several times as i am unable to log in to by Rak Value and see my vouchers, but i got very very drastic and nasty service from the customer care. They are not even well trained to guide the customer. Two days back (on 11/12/2014)i called again and gave me a reference no [protected] by Ms. Monina. But i received a message in my mobile no stating your request reference no [protected] has been closed, whereas my issue is not resolved.

careless attitude towards customers
i had deposited a cheque to close my outstanding amount to the RAK bank. On the day of flight to India i got a call from call center that my cheque is not honored and to go to the branch and collect the cheque. I went to the branch to collect the cheque. but they made me to wait for long time and as i was late to catch my flight, i asked the receptionist for the solution. so they informed me that the cheque would be sent to my p.o.box. From India I couriered my cheque to one of my friend and asked it to deposit to the bank as i dint want to be defaulter for late payment. As requested my friend deposited the cheque. To my surprise both the cheques were deposited and one of them got bounced.As a result i had to bear cheque bounce fees and Now when i went to the bank and complained on the same, absolutely no action is taken on this. they asked me to go to the branch were other cheque is deposited, there too no action taken and when i asked them to cancel my credit card they shamelessly accepted it. i had been transacting with the bank since 4 years and no one cares even to apologize. when i visited the branch the Branch manager is asking for the evidence, Now should i be doing my official job or should i should start working for these bank people? i just moved out and requested for closing credit card and demanded to give back the cheque. now its a process of getting my blank cheque which they collected at the time of opening account

misleading & poor customer service
I had been to ark bank to collect my companies online user name and password. Each time I be there they ask me to fill certain kind of forms. After filling the forms they tell me you are not supposed to tick all in the form just one of them. Then I updated my signature with complete power of attorney as suggested by rak bank . once signature got updated i went to the bank to collect the user name and password. then they say that even if the complete power of attorney is updated you cant collect the user name. then i met a guy called rupesh who was very arrogant and talks complete loop holes . i dont think that guy should be working in that bank or either in any institution. he says its my mistake that i dint ask a rak bank staff to educate me. rak bank staff acts as if they are the king and customers are crap. looks like they are giving something free. this has happened in the ghusais branch.

interest and unqualified staff
I had Outstanding on RAK credit card and been paying just minimum payment for sometime. and fortunately, i got the opportunity to settle all my outstanding. so called the customer service to know what the outstanding amount as on date. I paid extra few hundreds in case of any other charges or if there is a delay in processing. i redeemed my points back to my credit card. to my surprise, i am getting the next statement with Finance charges for 279.93. this is stupidity. Unprofessional and unqualified customer service working in RAK bank misguiding people. they looted the extra money i paid and the redeemed cash points and asking to pay more. RAK is known for looting money from the disguise. the reason they gave is that the finance charges are for two reasons--- one is the customer service gave the exact amount on monday and the amount paid on wednesday...ya, i paid few hundreds more to match with this difference! rubbish. second reason is that i took Balance transfer in 2012 and was paying only minimum payment for sometime... if that is the case, the customer service rep should give the amount including this. I have opened a current account in the month of April 2014 with RAK BANK Oud Mehta branch before four months just after confirming with the branch manager regarding the balance maintaining options in the current account. He explained me if you provide standing instruction for your credit card payments from your current account, you need not be worried about the minimum balance maintaining in your current account . He told if there is a standing instruction for minimum dues for your credit card your current account will be considered as a zero balance account. However, just after completing the fourth month July 2014 they started deducting AED 25 as ledger fees. I lodged a complaint with customer care against the same by questioning the reason and the registered complaint no, [protected]. They called me back after one day and tolled that for considering your current account as zero balance account you need to make a salary transfer to this account, and they closed the complaint simply. Not only this bank most of the banks in UAE is not giving any support to the customers for their grievance and dispute settlement. The Government, in many aspects closing their eyes and simply sitting idly. There is an implied obligation to the bank to make sure the customer is aware about the terms and conditions. However I would like to know the real rule in this regard.

from one year charging for credit shield inspect of cancellation
Hi I am RAK Bank credit card holder last year 4 may 2013 I asked them to cancel my credit shield policy but still in-spite of cancellation credit shield amount was coming in my every month statement. I have been complaining my times every week to bank they are not reversing amount which I paid from last year. Credit shield department whenever call gives one statement we can reverse only for current month as per bank policy. But I made cancellation from 4 may 2013 still bank was charging unnecessary n still not reversing it. Every time I call to call Centre I have to tell every time same story from beginning and they will ask me to hold the call for 30 min and finally they will write email with higher priority which has no relevance because issue is not being resolved from past one year. Hi, I also faced the same issue with Rak bank, and one of their sale person cheated me on opening a saving shield and never received my money back. Almost 12500 AED lost from my account.

2 years ago I was contacted by a Rak Representative for an investment plan (Salama Policy), after chasing me, i made it clear for him that i am looking for a short term investment of a maximum 3 years and to be able to withdraw my investments. My debit card no. Is xxxxxxxxxxxx4008 for Fastsaver ac The debit card is valid till jan2015. But I received an sms on 2nMar mentioning that my card is being cancelled on 15th Mar2014 itself as a new card with chip and pin is being sent to me. I sent sms to 7010 of not receiving the card. I also called cust care and got a comply no. 9929097 on 6th Mar. But til today none called nor did I get the card. This is ALWAYS THE CASE WITH RAKBANK courier who do not exhibit responsibility. Since you have cancelled my card out of the way, Please arrange to deliver the card to me and call me back.

incompetent staff
The nature of this complaint is regarding incompetent and unhelpful staff in RAK Bank in Ajman, Located in the NK MALL AJMAN.
Incident - Occurred during opening the bank account
The bank employee told me specifically that he doesn't speak any English, and wanted me to speak in another language. Their general behavior was that I should not open an account with them, they asked me several times for what purpose is the account being opened, after supplying all official documentation still he was not convinced, and then referred me to another staff who was equally incompetent. During the process of opening the bank account, the bank employee was tricking me to into opening an account that has a recurring charge, after asking him several times, whether that was the case of a recurring charge, he in an unclear manner told me that was the case. They are tricking customers into opening these accounts that have recurring charges.

The other day, i also wanted to send a TT locally, first of all they expect you to print out the document, then fill it out by hand, and then submit it back to them, and then attach evidence for why you want to send it. Which is absolutely nonsense.
Among the staff, the worst are the non local arabs, they are absolutely useless, in front of my eyes there was a huge long line of people waiting to make a simple inquiry and there were 2 counters, one had an asian and the other eyptian, the egyptian was just sitting and pretending to be busy, and didnt have the courtesy to ask if anyone wanted any assistance. The other teller was irritated and had to handle more than 50 people at one time.
The manager of this branch, is the proverbial Emirati, an arab with a huge salary and the wit of a ###ed ape, going to him is absolutely useless.
I would like to kindly request the manager of the hq of Rak Bank, to please implement better policies, and stop treating people like animals. F U !
fraudulent sales personnels
Rak bank sales people are fraud. They call you.In fact many would call you for one purpose. They will give you fake information. They lie about the commitments. They will tell you that the loan will be provided within a week or 3 days but they will make you sweat for months. You cannot do anything. You cant complain, you cant pull back your documents, as you to pay to stop the process. They are cheaters.
I was approached by one such sales personnel. She said she wants to top up my loan and she can do it in a week. I asked her to send me an email of whatever she is promising. She doesnt pick up my call after that.

rude staff, no response from customer service, no customer care just money driven
I got terminated in July 2013 and kept paying paying the min payment in nov 2013 I called them telling them I got terminated and need help, no one bothered to call back and I missed jan payment then I got many calls and endless SMS for the payment even one of the staff called from his mobile and was so rude and said you have until today or else. I was told I don't have credit shield based on my request I asked for a proof that I cancelled the service as they claim one said what will u benefit out of this! Said I'm the customer and this is my right and no one bothered to do anything. Just tell me what can i do if I'm jobless for the last 6 months! I expect to be treated in professional and proper manner as their customer since 2006. No mercy at all just money that matters these days... Shame

I have a very bad experience in RAK bank collection, I agree that I missed my payment for two months and accumulate my due amount. But I am willing to pay and settle my debt in a installment basis. I experience financial difficulties for the past few years due to Medical Expenses of my Father which it cost me a million, but I am willing to pay. The agony Collection department of RAK Bank is harassing me even Threat me that they will come to our office so that the Company will terminate me. Is that the mentality of of RAK Bank Collectors? they want that I will be terminated? So how can I pay them if they will do that things? This is my only bread and butter and I am struggling to bring back my financial situation on what I have before. I am just alarmed why they treat us like that? I am not into the situation that I will run my obligation at least treat us HUMAN and Not to Humiliate us in our Company which serve as our Only Source of INCOME... I hope it will help me and others who experiencing same situation like this.
