Bad customer service & lack of product knowledge by bank staff
I applied online for a business bank account and submitted all documents. I received a call to visit their Sultan centre office to sign off. I arrived at the RAK bank branch and security guided me to 1st floor and I went to their office telling the office boy to call Sadiqulla khan, who did not answer my call so after waiting an hour when no one came, I left. I called again from car and he answered and said come to Mezanine office. I’d some questions regarding the Business Takaful (insurance) which is offered with Business Value max and he did not have any clue about the insurance details. Then I asked him to get someone to clarify and he got a supervisor who said it’s on the website and I said that’s not given on the website. He said he can share link. I said I’ll now have to read all your terms and conditions before I sign off on these forms. I’d like to take this for now and come back once I’m fully satisfied. They said I’ll have to check with manager as the forms can’t be taken out. I said form has my details I filled online so how is it a problem. He said he will check with Manager. I waited in the lobby for 10 min and since I’d already wasted 2 hrs, I left the premise for my next meeting. Then I got calls from Sadique and Dev ( Manager) to come back and return the forms. I said you might as well come and collect it from me since I’d left a while ago. They messaged me saying they didn’t want my business and threatened to go report to central bank.

your associate (phanindhar. [protected]@rakbank. ae) is one of the worst people I have met in my whole life. I have been dealing with him for a loan from April 4th 2022 and till now (26th May 2022) I did not get the loan and he is so frustrating because he keeps lying saying tomorrow, everything is done tomorrow you will get the loan and this has been the response from him for the past 3 weeks and I'm still waiting. no clear process or time frame given. keeps asking for different papers and just irritating and prolonging the process.
I have been banking with different banks and establishments and so far this is the worst ever experience I have had. the mental trauma I'm going through and the fines I'm acquiring because of this incomitance I should go to courts. other banks take maximum 15 or 20 days, but it has been more than one and a half months and all I hear from this man is more process and a promises of tomorrow it will be done. so I have asked him to stop because I will certainly kill him if I have to meet him again for the frustration he has caused me.

When I lost my job in 2017, I asked Rak Bank for a monthly instalment of the principal amount, but they were unable to assist me.
They filed the case against me, and I paid the fine.
They begin calling me once more. I told them to take out the interest and give me a small monthly payment so I could pay it off.
I received another notice from the court regarding the travel ban.
I need your help to resolve this matter; I am still unemployed, and I am willing to pay in instalments.

Very Rude Bank to deal with
I have made Albania tourist visa fee payment of 1909.95 LEK through RAK Bank credit card on 14.03.2022 but RAK bank charged me Cash Advance fee 99 AED + VAT for 2 transactions (total 207.9 AED). I had previous experience of same type of deductions for making USD transactions through etoro by using RAK Bank credit card. I am regularly doing foreign currency transactions through my ENBD and FAB credit cards and the same I told to the tele- representative in the bank but she simply told "This is RAK Bank" and denied to lodge the complaints. This is not the right way to treat your customers. You may be RAK bank but you are not out of the legislations of Central Bank of UAE. After this experience, I will not make further transactions and get rid of this arrogant bank.

Loan against credit card
I have a credit card liability in rak bank from 2016. I lost my job in dubai in the same year and forced to go back to India. I had 5 credit cards from different. Banks and a car loan too. 3 of the cards I finished but this rak bank I have taken a loan 80000 and paid around 10 installment with 3300 aed per month. My bad days started bcoz I could not find a jod for a long time. During this time they started to call for repyments. I explained my situation finally I got a job in 2018 with less salary but I cleared by 3 banks liability With that. Then Corona hit my job. From there I struggle lot and the rak bank has given my file to an agency in India called sunshine. They started to call my parents and shouting and blackmail them in many ways. Then I complained it to the rak bank. They promised me that it won't repeat. But from last week onwards they started again. They visited my place and informed about this loan to the my neighbourS. My parents are old and father is heart patient. They called my father and using all the abusing words. These make them into real tension. My question is why they harass my parents bcoz of me. When I complained this issue into the bank, their reply was hope less and they mentioned in reply that it is part of their recovery and they didn't find any prrof of this hrrasments. And they are going to visit my home again and again until the loan finishes.
This is so not fair to blackmail them emotionally. Instead of giving me a proper repayment plan they like todo this torturing.
Please don't keep any relationship with rakbak and I want you to keep away from this bank. Other. banks have given me a proper repayment option after considering my income and expense.

Dear Shameer, your RAK bank liability is an issue in UAE and nobody has any right to intimidate you in India for the same subject.
You may go to the nearest police station in India to file a case against Sunshine for harrassment under Indian Penal Code section 294, 383 and 384 immediately.
The experience you have described is a punishable offense in India. The collection agent in India are operating illegally with no legal permission to be an agent for any foreign bank.

I would like to file a complaint with reference # 183577RR in regards to my RAK Bank credit card Platinum FC Barcelona it was inactive since September 2020 till date as of April 13, 2022.
I requested the customer service to cancelled/blocked and closure of the card completely, because I am not using it and I lost my job on October 2020, in advance I notify the RAK Bank customer service over the call.
Please may I request your good office to waive off the annual fee amount outstanding balance of 315 AED and completely terminate the card for good.

This complaint regarding my END Of benifit amount release and why my personal loan and auto loan emi debited form my account 15days before the due date.
I am working in abudhabi government sector, I submitted all my documents salary certificate, salary transfer, visa, emid, passport everything but the said the send a mail to my hr, but my hr said the are not received from the bank. I don't know why, because my salary also credited on this month, immediately you took my emi.

EOSB on-hold
Dear RAKBANK,
First I would like to thank you for the great services and I appreciate all customer related services.
I recently transferred in between jobs. And as it happened, my End Of Service benefits got "On Hold" as soon as it got transferred to my current account.
I visited the branch immediately to understand the issue and they were very kind to show me the procedure and documents needed to "Unhold" the funds.
I provided my Salary Transfer Letter (RAKBANK format) along with all required documents the next day (2-Feb-2022). I checked my online bank account and I can see that all details have been updated with my recent company details.
But until now I haven't received any calls or emails or sms that the process is being approved or in-progress. And honestly it's very inconvenient living without funds to support me and my family.
Please note that I have an over-due credit card that I couldn't settle because of the funds that are On-Hold.
I also have a Personal Loan EMI that was settled by Direct Debit from the End-Of Service benefits.
Desired outcome: Kindly approve for Unholding my funds so I can settle the Credit Card over due amount. And I would really appreciate to expedite the process.

This is to inform all that I had very horrible experience with RAK bank credit card.
I have sent all the documents RAK bank agent after checking all documents they offer me 7500 and same I signed on the security cheque. When I receive the card it shows only 5000 later I request to cancel my card so they said they will return the physical cheque to me and I need to sign on the 5000 security cheque. If they are returning then there is no issue so I signed other cheque. After signing the customer service agent they will take care of all. But they did not turn back to me I keep on following to Rak bank no one bother to respond. I am completely on trap of RAK bank

Rakbank collections department
I have had a loan with RAKBANK since May 2019. In the time since I've had this loan, I have never once missed a payment or even paid late. Not even during covid when I financially struggled. Fast forward to June 2021, I joined a new company - my salary date went from 25th to 28th. And no issues were had as I was still paying the loan on time.
From November 2021, RAKBANK started to freeze my loan amount, and then put the exact same amount from my salary on hold. So instead of taking the 10k and leaving it, they are taking 10k and then holding an additional 10k! with no explanation! It's happened to me for 3 months straight, and this month it's left me in the position where I was unable to make my rent cheque. I don't understand the audacity to freeze an additional 10k each month, not explain and never call your customer back.
I put a complaint in on Saturday via phone, tweeted to them, via chat on Sunday, via chat today and 3 days later - still no phone call and still, no 10k returned to me. Today I reported them to the central bank and in order to dodge it - they tried to raise a new complaint number to avoid the original one being used because they knew they hadn't addressed the complaint. This is an absolute joke and I'm pretty sure illegal - considering I have never once missed any payments and I am not even paying late! I want an explanation, this is absolutely unacceptable that they could even consider holding twice what I owe every single month.
It should not be the case that the 28th of each month is classified as late payment for a loan when they are very well aware that is when my salary is credited monthly - something that is not in my control and its absolutely unacceptable to expect people to be ok with waiting days for a response or even a call.

Rakbank promises service delivery, however, it's all a lie, a scam to get you to sign contracts. I frank with the agent when I told him I desperately needed a credit card for fare to get to work, he assured me that I would have the card within the week. This was 3 weeks ago. I only received confirmation of the approval of my card yesterday. Whats worse is that rakbank uses the worst rated courier service, teamex, from the reviews I read, I can only expect to receive the card within the nexr few weeks. I am so saddened and disappointed, because I trusted them. What's worse is that I get calls from rakbank with them pushing me to take out a loan on the card j haven't even received yet... Makes me sick actually. In a nut shell... Please if you're reading this, don't use this bank. It's just not worth it.

I am rak bank account holder. I have personal loan with them, I lost my job few months ago. Currently I got job and submitted all the legally documents (visa/ emirates id/ salary transfer letter) from new employer to the bank. Two months salary already received bank from new employer. Now branch is saying my eosb is not release. Due to credit limit is higher. But they informed to me before (when I submitted documents) within one week you will receive your benefit. Now they are telling another story. Please have a look in my issue.

I am rak bank account holder, I have loan with bank. I lost my previous job. After that I found job already and submitted to the bank my new employee all the documents. And two months salary already transferred to the bank with same account.

Hi, I visited to the Bank, representative said they are not release my EOSB. due to credit limit high. All the documents I submitted to the branch on 22nd of November. all approved by branch. two months salary bank received already with same account. why they cant get my EMI from my salary same as before. and also credit card Blocked by branch. That's very unfair and they are not satisficed customers. Please ask to release my EOSB to the branch . even I visit More times they are same, they said credit department the one decided to use for loan.
I know branch representative tell us lie. its branch decision.

Loans
I had a loan from RAK Bank and lost my job due to Covid. Since I was unable to pay the loan Rakbank gave a case against me and I went to the police Station court and explained my predicament to the Judge who after understanding my situation ordered me to pay ADD 10, 000 which I paid with great difficulty.
Since I wasn't able to get a job, I came back to India and have been trying for a job in UAE ever since.
Recently I tried to come to UAE on a visit visa but was informed by a lawyer friend that RakBank had filed a civil case.
I sent numerous mails to RAK Bank to confirm the same but am not receiving any response.
How can I pay back the loan if Rakbank doesn't allow me to comeback and workin the UAE.
Is there anything I can do to get a settlement worked out as RAK Bankis not responding

Debit card has been overcharged by 19.33 AED which has not been authorised by me.
I have been charged extra on 22/11/2021 by AED 792.33 when the deductible amount should be 773 AED only. For transaction on 19/11/2021 where the online payment has been made to INTERGLOBE AVIATION (GURGAON) for purchasing air ticket from INDIGO AIRLINES.

Loan recovery
Had sent an earlier detailed complaint wherein I had stated that I lost my job in Dubai and had an existing loan with Rak Bank. Since I was unable to pay, RAK Bank had filed a criminal case and when I explained to the judge about my predicament he told me to pay a fine of AED 10, 000 which I paid with great difficulty. Immediately after that Otaiba from RAK Bank collections sent a mail saying that he knew I paid the fine and that he would give a civil case... I tried very hard for a job but had to comeback to India as I couldnt get one. Recently after many attempts one of my old colleagues told me to come on a visit visa and try for a job. However when I checked with a lawyer I found that RAK Bank has filed a civil case with Sharjah Court of First Instance without even informing me. How can I pay back my loan if RAK Bank will not allow me to work in UAE.. Please be careful when you take loans from RAK Bank... They will drive you to suicide especially Otaiba

I am holding a account with RAK BANK and due to my company got collapsed and we have unpaid salaries for 4 months I was unable to pay total statement for the month of sep-2021 but I paid min amount in the same month. for October month I joined a new company and struggling with financial problems and still trying to make the payment for the generated statement wherein today that is on 08-11-2021 I received a call from bank collection executive from contact # +[protected] to know the status of payment as I was explaining him about the issues and asking him for any alternation solution to avoid any legal action instead of providing the solution he started arguing with me stating don't ask a silly question and says he does not have any time for my concern and was so loud and hung up the phone in between the conversation.
I am writing to you this because he was so rude on the call and I can't imagine a bank executive/customer service executive can speak to any customer like this.

Credit card charges
RAKBANK charges arbitrarily renewal fee on its free for lifetime credit card. They won't reverse the charge and also won't cancel the card until the billed amount is paid in full. The customers are not informed in advance of the changes affecting its customers. What an awful bank. A thug in the guise of a bank.
I pray that my plea be heard and this high handed behavior from the bank be corrected
