Recovery-Disks.com Order

I have ordered a recovery disk set from www.recovery-disks.com and after I paid I received a confirmation message and several day later another message saying that my order was ready for shipping. That was the last thing I heard from them. My original order was made in August and it is now January and still no order, no information, no refund. I can't reach anyone from Recovery-disks. I really need help, I want to get my money back but I have absolutely no idea how to do that.
I will report this company!

Recovery-Disks.com I ended up having to dispute the charges through my bank

I think this place went out of business or something. After nearly a week, my order didn't get processed and the company NEVER returned any calls/emails.

I ended up having to dispute the charges through my bank. AVOID!

These guys are good! No issues here. Why is everyone complaining? I was able to order from them and get my set of the recovery disks like 5 days later. No issues upon installation if you follow the directions ok, you are good to go.

We bought recovery-disks.com set of dvd's to get our office computer back up and running. We ended up having to install the hard drive first and then install these discs. It was a fairly easy process and didn't cause us any downtime. Luckily, the installation took a couple hours and was very easy to do via the included instructions. I did have a small hiccup with the discs, as I thought they didn't send the correct discs. But, once we followed the directions, they installed perfectly fine and there were no issues. I highly recommend these discs are anyone in need of getting their computer installed back to factory specifications with little to no downtime. Also, if you don't see the set on the website, be sure to call them to order it over the phone. I know it doesn't say how to exactly but trust me, you can easily just call their number and explain the problem. They were able to place my order, no questions.

These disks are technical in nature. In order to use them properly you will need to have a little bit of common sense and a reading level above the 5th grade. After reading the other reviews here, my faith in humanity is diminished a little.

I am a HR manager for a medium sized IT company in Orange County. We have to order three or four sets of CD's per month for customer's computers. Even though I am not a tech, my boss usually asks me to install the CD's for the customers because of their rudimentary nature. If I can do it, any one of you can follow the directions and figure it out. I have very little technical ability myseld.

The directions are fairly easy to follow and when I have a problem, I just google it or ask one of the tech's. The issues I have experienced were never because of the CD set we bought. They were because the customer's computer had more issues with it that needed to be fixed first. For instance, we've had customers have bad parts inside their machine and caused the disk not to run at first.

As an HR manager I hear complaints from customers all of the time. You guys need to take responsibility for your own actions. Follow the directions, or hire a computer company to install it. I've installed these disks probably 20-30 different times with different computers. Out of those events, I can only remember having to contact their customer support to replace a disk that just wouldn't load.

Their customer service guys are straight, and to the point. I see some people pointed this out as being crass or rude, but I think it's because they are busy and cannot fix every single persons issue. My phone call lasted three minutes. I called them, explained the issue with the disk and they confirmed it was a problem with the CD and send a new one. The new one was received in three business days and worked flawlessly.

If you have to call a tech company, be prepared with as much information as possible before you call. Know the EXACT error message before you call. It will make the entire process much easier.

That said, Recovery-Disks.com will continue to receive our business. They are great! Their products are affordable too, compared to other services out there.

Also, to the other people reading this, I wanted to offer some insight into the negative comments from other reviewers. Being in the industry, it is disheartening to see customers not understand what's going on and blame someone else instead of taking responsibility for their shortcomings.

Stephanie mentioned something about entering the wrong address so she wrote this bad review. How can you blame these guys for your screw up?

Roger, if you used the disks properly, they will install the PC back to normal. This can't possibly make the computer worse. I've installed these dozens of times and only ever had one issue that they remedied by sending me another disk set.

Barbara - the issue you're having is explained on the directions that came with the product. When you restart the computer back to normal, you have to activate it by typing in the license number that's on the computer. It states it right in the directions.

All of these issues are related to people being ignorant and wanting to blame someone else for their problems.

All in all, the only issue that I can find is that their shipping takes a week or two to get here. Which stinks. If we need something fast, we just order the express mailing option. These guys are fairly small I think and probably have a large amount of orders. Either way, if you have problems, don't blame these guys, hire a company to install it for you properly.

I've bought from these guys before. No issues here. It did take a week to get the disks, but that's kind of to be expected when you're dealing with a smaller company. Just read the FAQ and terms and conditions. They have pretty strict standards to abide by.
