Inability to view houses through Rently
Both my mother and I have had our accounts "paused" due to "security concerns"...however, no one can tell us what those "concerns" are. I am 52 and my is 75. Feel quite strongly that neither of are trouble makers or pose any sort of security threat. We follow guidelines, pay for the service, tour houses with the utmost respect, and still cannot seem to tour. I would like for both of us to receive an actual valid reason for said pause.
Desired outcome: Refund and explanation

paused account
after about 30 days into me 60 days of unlimited tours, they suddenly paused my account. now after waiting nearly a MONTH for someone to email me back from support, i have 1 day still on my tours but they will not remove my account from is locked list due to "violation of security protocols" what protocols? what did i do, tell me what i did so that i can rectify this! im facing eviction and have been trying to find somewhere to live for the past 2 or 3 months and now i am locked out of touring properties because of some wide claim that ive broken their security protocol? this company is horrible and you cant even file for a touring refund if they lock you out. SCAMMERS thats all they are!
Desired outcome: FULL REFUND of my 60 day unlimited tours

Paused my Rently account
I have been viewing homes with the Rently app for a couple of months this year. I viewed them in March & April of 2022. This new account I use my active valid cellphone number. With the old account I have not been using it because I no longer use Cricket cell service & I am from out of state. I no longer use the old out of state number. I viewed homes with the new in-state number for over 6 weeks at least. Then on April 7th, when I tried to schedule a self-tour, I was directed to the Rently support chat. I called the number and was told that my account was paused due to security concerns. Security concerns. I had to email the Rently security, I received one email on April 8th asking me to list my mobile number and email I use for the account. I sent that email, I still have not heard from anyone to this day! There needs to be a number to call Rently security.
Desired outcome: I want my account unpaused & to be able to use my valid, in state phone number so I can continue viewing the homes.

Issue: I used their app to do a self guided tour of a home for rent a month or two ago
Issue: I used their app to do a self guided tour of a home for rent a month or two ago. During the process of trying to tour the app did not allow me to enter the building to do the self guided tour. I contacted support 2-3 times and was told that the lock might not be syncing and they could not help further. Ultimately I was unable to tour the home. Resolution Request: I am not happy with the service provided and I would like my account and all personal information deleted from their systems including the multiple pictures of my face that were taken during the sign up process. I reached out to Rently and they told me that they have the right to deny my deletion request (see attached email).

I didnt know that the listing was a scam until it asked for card info to self-tour. It was using the rently site (though it seems to be from someone unaffiliated with the real rently). I did not put my card on there, but I would just like my photo and drivers license taken down, as I feel uncomfortable with scammers having it.
collected $0.99 and a picture of my driver's license, front and back for self-guided tour of an apartment. I went to the property at the scheduled time and there was no such address. It was a scam to collect money and my ID.
Went to Rently.com and paid the .99 cent fee with my credit card
Went to Rently.com and paid the .99 cent fee with my credit card. Scanned my face and uploaded my drivers license. Every property that I was interested in was a SCAM! Went to the property management website and none of the houses were on the actual legit websites. I went to view a house and the actual house looked nothing like the pictures. I didn't go in because of the neighborhood and onlookers were grilling me so I left. The city listed on rently was incorrect and the next day some guy called me and left a voicemail that I couldn't understand because of his accent. They are scamming ppl left and right and I'm positive those .99 cents fees from unsuspecting ppl looking for housing all over the country has added up quite nicely. PLEASE DELETE ALL OF MY PERSONAL INFORMATION NOW!

Double charged me and didn't give me access to the property. This is a scam, they take your drivers license info, pictures of your face, and credit card information. DO NOT AGREE TO GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION.
I seen this website for Rently and then after I already gave them my drivers license info I found out there are a lot of complaints and fraud from this website. Please delete my information from rently.com
Please delete my information. I was SCAMMED WITH THE RENTAL PROPERTY I VIEWED.
My information was taken from this company. I gave a Photo ID front and back, and they did a face scan and have an actual photo of me. I believe this to be a scam as they as for your credit card information just to take a tour of a house on Zillow rentals acting as Hoffman Realty LLC. When you go on the site the rental does not exist it says they are selling the whole house. I would like all my information to be deleted from their site. This is a scam! Thanks

I recently signed up for an account through Rently.com on Saturday, August 13, 2022, because i received an email and a text stating that this is the only way I would be able to schedule a self guided tour for a house I saw on Zillow that I was interested in. When signing up, the site tells you to scan your ID and to take a video of your face moving left to right in order to confirm your identity. After completion of this and providing all my information, I was asked for my credit card information, because evidently you have to pay Rently just to schedule a self guided tour to view houses. I closed my account immediately once i saw that they were wanting my credit card information, but I am afraid that they may still have my information, my drivers license and my face scan stored in their system.

rently.com collected my drive license info and my photo, i want them to delete my personal info
Today (aug 22nd) I was on zillow looking up homes and one redirected me to rently. I filled out my information thinking it would be like another service I had to use to get a code, then after submitting my information they spring a 99cent charge on you to get your card information. I scanned my face like they requested but did not provide my card. I came here to find out this is a common problem. Like everyone else, I want all my personal information and face scan to be removed from the system.
On Wednesday, June 15, 2022 i saw a rental listing on Zillow
On Wednesday, June 15, 2022 i saw a rental listing on Zillow. I followed the link to ask the availability of it and was directed to Rently's application process because i was interested in renting the home. It asked me for photo uploads of my id, facial recognition, and of course the almighty credit card info...this is where i stopped myself and checked with the Complaintsboard.com and found out NUMEROUS issues and complaints about Rently. I did not give them any credit card info at all, but i did, however, give them the id and facial recognition info. I would like my personal info to be abolished from Rently's records and also forced to never be able to have possession of anyone elses personal info in the future. These are hard times for all of us and there's absolutely no place in our lives for this kind of scam.

I wanted to view a rental property and I scanned my driver's license but I didn't know I'd have to pay a fee to view an property. I want my Information removed from the Rently system
I wasn't thinking apparently. I am looking for a home to rent. I haven't had to in over 10 years. So when rently.com asked for my license social and credit card info to have on file to self view homes I didn't think anything was wrong with it. Well looking on here I see I was wrong. I would like the .99 cents refunded and all of my information removed from the website immediately like everyone else on here has requested. So disappointed !
I was looking to rent a house and they asked me to provide an ID and then a face scan. I did that and then they wanted to charge my credit card .99 to view properties. It felt shady to me so I left the site.
I saw a rental property on Zillow
I saw a rental property on Zillow. I clicked the link to schedule a viewing. It took me to Rently where I was asked to create an account to schedule self viewing. For .99 I was suppose to be able to view up to 30 properties in a 30 day period. I create an account and for there security purposes and proof of identity they say, Im asked for Drivers license and credit card along with a selfie. Front and left and right side profiles. But Once my account was charged, I no longer had access to the web site or any properties. I then went back to the sight that I originally saw the property on and the listing had been removed. I was not allowed to log into Rently with the very phone number I used to create it. Now my information is in there files. I would like that info destroyed. And company's ratings reflect complaints, and my money back.

I found a property on Zillow to rent and reached out to see if it was available to view
I found a property on Zillow to rent and reached out to see if it was available to view. I got a text saying to view and schedule a tour, click the link. Took me to the Rently site where you create a login and then you upload a photo front and back of your DL. So I did that and it even scanned my face to see if it was me using my web cam! Once that was done, I tried to set a time for a tour and it then tried to ask me for my credit card info to charge $0.99 to just to have 20 tours. I think it's shady this company wants your ID and info first to then ask for your CC info later! I did not feel comfortable with this and deleted my Rently account but I WANT MY LICENSE AND INFO DELETED AS WELL. Had I know I would need to enter a credit card just to tour a rental property, I would NOT have signed up! This is misleading and not fair to people!

Rently.com is requiring us to photo our Driver's license front and back and then send it to them in order to schedule appointments
Rently.com is requiring us to photo our Driver's license front and back and then send it to them in order to schedule appointments. After doing this and being verified that we are legit, we can't schedule an appointment to tour homes. They just keep sending us back and forth to the site to our mobile to click a link back to their site and another notification on our mobile back to the site, over and over. After texting a reply to them saying that I was going to contact the complaintsboard.com because I felt this was fraud, they sent me a text of a phone number to call. I did and that person doesn't speak english very well and could hardly understand them and they kept asking me for my phone number and other personal details. I told them to delete my information and photos and that I would be filing a complaint against them for stealing my information under fraud pretenses.

I encountered a suspicious Craigslist rental listing for a house in Queen Creek, Arizona.
I encountered a suspicious Craigslist rental listing for a house in Queen Creek, Arizona. My ID was scanned, and facial recognition was used for verification. After viewing the house, a representative hurried me to apply and urged immediate payment to receive the keys. This felt off. I want to alert others about this site's operations. They have representatives offering invalid lease agreements, created in less than an hour and sent to my Spam folder. They advertised the rent at half the price of the actual $2,200 listing managed by Progress Residential, the legitimate property manager. The so-called landlord demanded $1,150. Be cautious of such scams. Fortunately, I didn't make any payment or sign any agreement.

I was on the Trulia app looking for rental listings
I was on the Trulia app looking for rental listings. I found the listing I wanted to view. I was redirected to rently.com. I started to create an account with my name, contact info and uploaded a picture of my state ID, but stopped when it asked for my credit card information. I felt very suspicious and uncomfortable proceeding. I deleted my account, but I reached out to Rently to confirm that my information has been fully deleted. But they replied that they cannot do that per The California consumer privacy Act of 2018. But I thought that was to protect consumers like myself not a company like Rently. The customer service rep from Rently stated that they have to keep my information for 24 months per this Act. But I do not plan on using the rently service at all. I clearly did not proceed with visiting the listing especially after finding out others online are having the same issues. I want full confirmation that my information is removed from their systems. I even read online that this may be a scam and I'm highly concerned about this too.

I was looking for a house to rent and I came across one on Facebook so I clicked it and called the number
I was looking for a house to rent and I came across one on Facebook so I clicked it and called the number. I asked if the house was still available and he man told me it was and gave me the address. I thought he would be meeting me at the address but when I got there he sent me a link to Rently.com so I could do a self tour which I did not know was a thing cause this is the first time I am looking for a house. He tells me the price is different than what is on the site and to continue with making the account. After making the account I thought it was weird they wanted to charge me so when I got home I looked up rently and seen it was a site for scammers so I am wanting my personal information and drivers license deleted from the site. This accured on 6/29/22. The man is still trying to contact me about the house and trying to get me to look at another property but I don't think he is the actual owner or realtor person and I want nothing more to do with him but I'm scared that he has my information from rently.com so I am needing help. Please.

Issue with Rently's property viewing process and personal data concerns
I have a complaint about attempting to view a rental property through Rently. I confirmed its availability via their website. They directed me to a link, requesting my personal details, including a photo ID and facial recognition. Additionally, they asked for a payment of $0.99, which I refused, and suggested buying a Visa card for the same amount. I declined and left. I want my information deleted from their database as I was uncomfortable with these requests, which were not disclosed prior to my visit.

On 7/26/22 I had a self tour to view home on ***
On 7/26/22 I had a self tour to view home on ***. They take your cc info to get key code for self tour and upload your drivers license and facial recognition selfie. You then get to the property for tour and no serial number on lock box. You call and of course they cant help you and tell you to call property manager directly and I left several messages and NO return calls. Texted the phone number comes back with an error untextable number. Couldn't see property and I stood there on the phone with RENTLY about issue and online in their chat with no resolution and they have my .99 cents for key to lock box, credit card info, my drivers license info, my selfie photo. I checked with your website and MANY complaints and they are using our info from cc and drivers licenses to do identity theft per the complaints showing on your Complaintsboard.com website.. FIRSTKEY and RENTLY.COM need to be considered a SCAM/FRAUDULENT companies and I want my information protected. I have reported on all rental websites that I see the house being advertised on in hopes the companies will remove not just this home but all homes.

Date of transaction: July 23, 2022 Amount needed to be reimbursed: $156 My personal information and card need to be deleted from the Rently
Date of transaction: July 23, 2022 Amount needed to be reimbursed: $156 My personal information and card need to be deleted from the Rently website and any additional parties they shared it with. Horrible renting/ housing companies have been such a disappointment for our growing family to find a decent home to rent in a reasonable time frame. Rently.com as well as others like rent.com even Zillow have shared information from The Leasing Company that is a fraud. Supposedly their plan was simple: complete the pre-approval application, self-tour, hopefully be the new tenants. After completing the application TWICE (one for myself, the other for my wife) and paying the fee total of $78 ($39/ea), we called days later for an update and no response. Checking my bank statement today and they are already charging my card an additional $78. The Leasing Company only had options to hear an automated system continuously redirecting to another automated method. The business has not attempted to handle the situation whatsoever. So upsetting because rently.com rent.com zillow.com show this management company The Leasing Company on their websites and honestly it has caused so much headache that I wish would never happen again. Unfortunately I feel that they have done this way too many times already.

On 6/20 I received a link to view a property
On 6/20 I received a link to view a property. The landlord that I had been communicating with sent me this link via text. I clicked on the link and was routed to a website called Rently.com. The landlord explained to me that this was how he allowed people to view his property. I used Rently to create an account. I registered by giving all my information, including address, photo ID, and credit card to process the $.99 fee for using the app. The fee was suppose to cover 20 viewings in one month. I was unable to use a prepaid card to register with Rently. I tried to use prepaid because I do not typically use my private debit or credit card to do anything online that is unfamiliar. I contacted the landlord and he explained that this company, Rently, is how people view properties quickly now. I went ahead to put in my personal card information. After viewing the house I contacted the landlord. I really liked the house and wanted to proceed in the leasing process. I did not see that I was walking into a scam. After a lot of back and forth with the landlord, I realized this was a scam. I tried to delete my account on Reently and have my personal information removed and I got no where. I do not want my account information on Reently and would like to be reimbursed. I also think that people should know that this company is not what they say they are.

Hey, So we found an apartment through the Rently app
Hey, So we found an apartment through the Rently app. We downloaded the app, went to a virtual tour, used the app to get the code to the lock box. Then we toured the house and decided to rent. Got a lease, sent over first and last months rent and got the keys. We moved in and have been at the apt for almost 2 weeks when we got a knock on the door from the actual owner of our apt. We got scammed through Rently. They were hacked by a hacker and he got the information about the apt and was able to hack into the property site and show us the apt. We called Rently to tell them they had been hacked and they told us that there was "Absolutely no way" they were hacked. We tried to explain to them how they were hacked, and hey said "No" we did not get hacked. Again, we tried to explain to them, hey - someone hacked into this property listing, was able to allow us to access the apt and get keys and move in. They didn't want to hear any of it, they just kept passing us along to someone higher up. Every single person, said "No this didn't happen" and then we said you are not even listening to us. So we'd ask to speak to someone higher. Eventually we were just sent to a phone that was left on in an open room. We stayed on the line waiting to be talked to for over 50 minutes, when they eventually came back to the phone and hung it up. So we have moved into this apt, w

Rently, a lockbox company used by some property managers, required upload of DL, front and back, and three photos to confirm I match license
Rently, a lockbox company used by some property managers, required upload of DL, front and back, and three photos to confirm I match license. I'm fine with this - did if for another "self showing property" service. What I'm NOT fine with is that Rently only notifies users of a fee it charges AFTER they've uploaded ID/pics. If I had been advised of this fee in ADVANCE of uploading my data, I would not have done so. What's scummy is that Rently is skimming fees off both parties in a transaction - property managers pay monthly fee for lockboxes, users pay a fee for a fixed number of showings. The other service I uploaded my info to did NOT charge a fee and did not limit the number of showings I might schedule through them. Having scrolled through the many Complaintsboard.com complaints against Rently - they almost all seem to involve this fee and the method by which it's requested. I did not pay the fee, so don't want a refund. But I do want my data scrubbed from your company, please. Your business model is a deceitful one, and I do not trust that you will act in good faith to protect my data. Given the volume of complaints on here, it seems that revising this dishonest policy is the only sensible course for your company - the legitimacy of this user fee is highly questionable, but if consumers are informed of it in advance, instead of having it sprung on them at the end of their ID verification, they could at least make an informed choice about whether to proceed.

This company paused my account and wont unpause it. I paid for my tours and have not gotten a refund. They are scamming people out of their money by placing these pauses after you pay so you won't be able to view any properties. They claim they can not unpause it but have done so for others. Please do not trust this scamming website/app.
Extremely frustrating that my account has been paused and no one will help. I have called and it sends you to website no where on there to get help with this issue.
My account was paused for no reason and no one on your team can fix it! I’ve been told the exact same thing, word for word, 4 times now from different people! What good is a support or security service if they can’t do anything?!?
