Consumer Direct Warranty Services Total fraud and failing to live up to their claim

Where do I start. I was going through some regrets in my life paperwork and I came across the following. I purchased a brand new 2005 Chevy Silverado Z71 pick up truck with all the amenities. It came with a 3 Year 36,000 mile warranty from the dealership. As my factory warranty came close to an end, I got a call from consumer direct warranty services. To make a long story short, the salesman convinced me that this was a great warranty so I decided to enroll in the extended warranty service contract which I believe as memory serves cost me around $2,300. The term of the contract was for 84 months or 100,000 miles which I have documentation. The purchase date was 07/11/2008, and the mileage on my truck was 29,767. At 55,967 miles my transmission went out. I was towed to a Chevy dealership and started the process of the warranty service to get my vehicle repaired. The dealership tried for 5 days to get in contact with consumer direct warranty services with no response. I also tried to contact them, left messages with no response. So as I come to an end of this story, this lesson cost me $3,114.26 for a rebuilt transmission from the Chevy dealership and the $2,300. for the useless CONSUMER DIRECT WARRANTY SERVICES CONTRACT. Just for info, I have ALL the documentation Including the nice packet/ with CD, explaining all the information regarding my great extended warranty. HA HA HA !

Desired outcome: I will hold my breath if I ever get my $2300 back

Consumer Direct Warranty Services driver seat side cover

Hi there, I had few issues after I have purchased triton limited edition in 2017. First it was the driver seat side cover are broken with the diver weight 80kg and below, so I file a complaint during first service and they took times to replaced new one. Then it was broken again, and I file the complaint during second car service and they replaced new one and it broken again. I did file a complaint till now 2019 still sitting on the broken seat cover. Is the warranty a gimmick? Beside the seat cover, the amazing part was I pay more for the model with cover but the lock was jam on the day to my trip to out town which a had value of things inside. And the booth cover doesn't shut properly as well. Well.. I guess maybe a wrong choice and having these bad experiences with this car! My vehicle number plate : bph 7872 lim

Consumer Direct Warranty Services customer service, possible fraud

I purchased a extended warranty on my 2003 ford explorer back in february 2009 when my dealership warranty expired. The company sold me the warranty over the phone and I was hesitant, but I thought it may be a good investment. I paid a bit of money and paid mepco off. Iasked for a letter verifying final payment and I was told they do not send letters out. I never used the warranty service on the jeep at all because al of the issues I had were not on the list of covered items. I recently wrecked the ford explorer and so I purchased a used car a few months ago. I have called mepco to find out informationon transfering the warranty and was given another companies number thay dealt with home insurance. Ihad to call mepco several times and they gave another number for a warranty company and every time I call the voicemail comes on and 1 time they called me back and advised I never had a warranty with them. I waisted money and so I want it back.

Consumer Direct Warranty Services claims denied

I purchased the warranty on 4/15/2008 and had not used it until recently. I have had two claims denied regarding airconditioning to my 2007 tahoe. The warranty manual states the problem is covered but the company has denied the claim. They stated the reason for not covering the air condition problem was due to the size of my tires, which are factory tires. They requested a picture of the vin # and tire size, which we sent. The return email from the company had no leg to stand on when it came to the tires. So, the next email is now requesting copies of maintenance services, once jiffy lube sent everything, the return email states, they want customer coopies, as if what jiffy lube sent was not enough! I am tired of dealing with this company and I want my money back! Any information would be greatly appreciated in regards to this company!

Department of Insurance Slams Consumer Direct Warranty Services for Unlicensed Sale of Insurance

Dilbert taps into consumer frustration with the comic strip posted below. Call it wry humor. But the California Department of Insurance doesn't think consumer fraud is funny. Whether they are referred to as "service contracts, " "extended warranties" or "mechanical breakdown insurance, " vehicle repair agreements are a big profit center for new and used car dealers. Telemarketers or internet schemes may tout them as well. Often such contracts are unnecessary. Even illusory. Some of these products are legal, but many are not. In the midst of a slick sales pitch, almost no one reads the prolix printed warranty form. That is a mistake Dilbert's "confusopoly consultant" wants you to make. Now the Department of Insurance is clamping down.

For many years, car dealers have claimed that these after-market products do not qualify as insurance and they do not have to be licensed to sell them. That may change. On June 17, 2010, the California Department of Insurance issued a Cease and Desist order against Consumer Direct Warranty Services and related entities. You can read the Department's full press release here.

Some dealer service contracts fall within an exception to the insurance rules. However, in order to exploit that loophole, car dealers must follow certain procedures, have back-up insurance, provide cancellation rights and comply with other regulations.

"If you want to sell insurance in California, you must obtain a license, have adequate financial reserves and you must not deceive consumers, " said Commissioner Poizner. "In order to protect California consumers, there are specific requirements for insurance companies seeking to do business in California. If companies do not abide by these requirements, they will not be permitted to sell insurance in our state."

The Insurance commissioner's website goes a step further to promote consumer protection. Check out its "Guide to Auto Service Contracts and Agreements" here. If you have purchased a service contract or extended warranty that does not comply with these rules, contact us even before your car breaks down.

Why does it take so long to get it cancelled, when it was credited within minutes? Now I'm paying extra, on interest rates on my c card!

Took my 2003 dodge truck that had this warranty services to my local dodge dealer to have the noise in the rear end check out and they told me that the penning bearrinng was out so called the C.D.W.S and they turn me down because the services department did not state that the parts was not broken the bearring was turn out so because it was not stated broken...
