Spirit Incentives Worst service imaginable and a hoax!

And it goes like this... I was presented with a Vacation Package from Spirit Incentives after reviewing a timeshare for Silverleaf Resorts. For attending the timeshare in the middle of nowhere, you are given a 'free' gift of a vacation package to the destination of your choice- Orlando, Aruba, Hawaii, Jamaica, Puerto Rico. The Vacation Package provides for two adults 5 days/4 nights hotel accommodations at those destinations. The hotels are specifically mentioned on a sheet that is given to all participants. You would be obligated to pay for airfare and all other extras, but the benefit of having a hotel paid-off as a gift is still a good thing.

Thereafter, you are to fill out a registration coupon which gets sent to Spirit Incentives with your personal info, where you wish to travel. Once Spirit Inc. receives this, they then mail back to you a Reservation Request form. Upon receipt, you are to select 3 valid dates of travel, with criteria which is reasonable. You would have to pay for hotel taxes only, which is fine as well. No big deal. The company advises that they will give you 45 days notice prior to your departure date if your dates were accepted. Of course, Spirit reserves the right on everything in their 'Terms and Conditions'.

That is where the catch is, and where there horrible service shines through. First off, they do not send back their notification to you that they cannot fulfill your request within 45 days of the departure date you request. Two, when you call their customer service, they refuse to give you any information about your request. Simply, they tell you that you should receive something in the mail. This is a huge flaw of this company. They have people who are not personable on their phone, hence providing poor customer service. They also refuse to respond and answer any questions you have except for saying that you will receive notification in the mail. In addition, their reps were extremely rude and didn't allow me to finish the questions I wanted to ask. I called back multiple times so I could see if speaking with someone different would help resolve the matter, but to no avail. RUDENESS ABOUND!

So after my first two dates were denied, I had to provide another departure date. Mind you, all dates I provided were at least a month apart and not within holidays, etc. Two weeks after I mailed in the third request, I decided to call up again to find out what was happening. At that point it was within 25 days of when I was to depart on my journey if it were going to be accepted. Once again, I received a rude rep at Spirit Incentives. They claimed that again they could not accept my dates (on their terms and conditions, they say to select 3 dates). So, I said how will you accommodate me? They responded by giving me another set of dates a month forward. So I said ok sure why not? Then, I heard their next catch. The hotel accommodations listed on their Vacation Package sheet (I was planning on Aruba, staying at Wyndham Aruba Beach Casino Resort) were not available.

So I asked are they not available at all, or for those dates in particular?
Client rep: They are not available.

Again I ask, is that hotel not available at all, or just for those dates?
Client rep: They are not available.

Then I explain to the rep that she is not answering my question, and that Im wondering if the hotel itself is not available at all or just for those dates. All I was looking was for an answer. She couldn't give me one. At that point, I asked for her manager. She put me through...it gets worse!

The manager gets on the line, and I pose the same question.
I say that I am willing to accept the travel dates they advised, but if they are providing me with those dates, why are they providing me with different hotels than what is on their specified getaway package? Manager says: We cannot offer that hotel as its unavailable to us for those dates we provided you. We can only provide you 'XXXX' hotel.

So I requested to change the dates they were trying to pawn on me for dates later in the year at the hotel that was specified on the package.
Manager says: We cannot do that. We can give you these particular dates, and this particular hotel, or offer you a refund. That's all.

So neither would they accept my request for 3 different sets of dates, but they would only provide THEIR dates and THEIR hotel of their choosing (not the one listed on the getaway package). And what makes it most irritating is the fact that even their manager gave me an ULTIMATUM! What kind of customer service is that? 'Take it or leave it'?

Upon hearing that, I was shocked, annoyed, and most of all perplexed that a company would do this. It was clear to me that everything would be on their terms and they never had any intention of fulfilling the requests their clients brought to them. They must not really have deals with the hotels, it seemed quite clear.

In addition to all of this, part of the package is you get 4 $10 gas rebate coupons which you can redeem once a month and send in the mail to Spirit Incentives. It says to allow 4-6 weeks for a response and a rebate . To this day, over 3 months after I sent my first rebate coupon and receipt, I have not received a single rebate!

I'm going to report this company to the Better Business Bureau and all message boards possible. NO ONE SHOULD USE THEIR SERVICE and "INCENTIVES". They are all a bunch of nonsense, their service is pitiful, and they do not fulfill their clients requests.

I, like others, spent time and effort getting what I thought was going to be a "free" cruise. The company did not fill the first two time slots. When it came time to give me the cruise before my date expired, suddenly there were no 5 day cruises. I could have booked a cruise online direct from the company for the same price in "port taxes" that they charged me. I may never get my port tax money back. I am reporting them to the better business bureau. There are lots of complaints against this very dishonest company.

THEY DO NOT SEND THE CUSTOMER AN EMAIL.AND THE ONES THAT THEY DO IT GOES INTO THEIR SPAN.THISK ABOUT IF THIS WAS SUCH A GOOD COMPANY DO TRAVEL WITH WHY DOES THEIR COMPANY EMAIL GO INTO A SPAM INBOX .***SO YOU DONT RESPOND TO THE EMAIL**WAKE UP AMERICA **DO NOT BE FOOLED WITH SPIRIT INCENTIVES VACATION PACKAGES IT IS A NIGHTMARE WAITING TO HAPPEN**IF THE SELL 10K CERTFICATES AND OUT OF THE 10K ONLY 25 OF THEM TRAVEL THAT SHOULD SEND UP A RED FLAG **SCAM COMPANY**SCAM COMPANY****

Spirit Incentives is a Scam they want the consumer that get the certificates from doing a our not to read the terms that is listed on the back of the certificate .This is how they make their money so whoever get the certificate and wants to travel by a Scam Company Please read and follow all the Steps that they list 1-4 .

This Company is a sam former employee.They charge the customer credit card Additional charges on their crdit card and they don't want the agent to let the customer know of this charge.They say don't tell the customer of the charge .The charge is anywhere from $2.00 to 5.00 The customer that is authorizing the charge for what every the agent tell them does not realize they have addl. credit card charge .*****Alert** This company make their money on not traveling the customer***. They overcharge the customer for the hotel especially in Great Wolfe they charge 159.99 per day and then they charge a customer that has a child that is over 3years of age $50.00 per day per night..**** DO NOT PURCHASE OR TOUR WITH ANY COMPANY THAT HAS SPIRT INCENTIVES VACATION CERTIFICATES*******They put the customer that does follow the Terms of Participation they put them in the worst Hotel that they Contract with.When the customer travels and they call and let the agent know that the hotel is a dumb the Supervisor tells the agent that there is nothing they can do. They advise the agent to tell the customer that this is a Promo certificate they have and the hotel is a standard hotel. *******Consumer Do Not Let This Company Stay In Bussiness ****Someone Needs To File A Lawsuit Against Them***

We had a great cruise to the Bahamas. Spirit Incentives made all other arrangements for us, including airfare, lodging the night before our cruise, etc. We had a terrific time. Thank you, SPIRIT iNCENTIVES.

My wife and I attended an Condo presentation recently. We did not buy, but were offered a voucher for 2 nights at a location of our choice based on a list provided. All was going well, we choose our destination and the dates. But once we tried to change just the location which would not require any use of the free airfare, we were told we could not make ant changes. This seems a bit crazy as they would be saving money on the uneeded airfare. I hope they will work with us. Chris K

My wife & I sat through a 2 hour presentation followed by a high pressure sales pitch on vacation time shares before we could finally receive our travel vouchers. After sending in our $100 deposit and location request for our free 2 night stay in San Diego, we receieved another letter stating we needed to go on-line to submit our 3 travel date options. After completing that we were told to call Spirit within 7 days to actually book the trip. Upon calling, we were told that all destinations were booked for all 3 dates except Orlando. When we asked if we could select another date when San Diego is available, we were told no. Once the dates are selected (blindly) they cannot be revised. This is essentially a setup because you have no choice at that point but to bail out, which we did. Now I can only hope that they make good on their promise to refund the $100.

I wouldn't say rip off, but it isn't worth your time. Yes, they make you jump through hoops to get your rewards. Yes, they will put you on hold for amounts of time in which I can certainly imagine what they are doing-bouncing a ball around, gossiping with their co-workers, eating lunch, browsing the internet, etc. I specified 3 dates as they request. Only one date was available. Of course, during peak season adding an extra $99/person. We don't live near a super huge city like Dallas, LA, or Chicago, so we were going to have to drive 6 hours to get to our 6:30am flight, pay to stay an extra night before and after in a hotel, and get back at an ungodly hour to have to stay in Dallas another night, before we could make the 6 hour drive back home. After all fees and everything it would have cost us at least $1000 ($750 of which was just in their random fees). They do try to talk you into an upgrade because they only have single bunks. Don't buy it! I said that's fine we can deal with it. After specifying a date he said, "Oh, well fortunately the boat you are on (Royal Carribean) has the twin beds on the ground that can be made into a king." Uh...ya! Because only boats from back in the 80's have strictly bunk beds in a room. We weren't really ready to shed $1000 on another trip, so of course we declined. Bonus part-after you jump through all their hoops and decide you don't want it (as you must on the spot I must add) - THEY ARE HAPPY TO GET RID OF YOU! I recieved my deposit back as promised and in a timely manner (aprx. 10 business days). So not a rip off, but definitely a waste of time.

I just found out that Spirit incentives is a Rip Off. After purchasing a time share Vacation Package with Tan, I followed all ther proceedures and sent in my 100 dollars deposit and three dates for the cruise. They were to notify me 45 days before my first date. Due to a death in the family the date got past me and when I called them they said they had E-mailed me. I explained to her that I had not recieved it and was told we sent it you must have deleted it by mistake. When I told her all my deleted mail back to jan 2008 was still in my computer, she still insisted that they had sent it and there were no openings on the ship now for the dates I had selected and my year would be up before any other dates were available. They only good thing was they said they would refund my deposit.

I was given a 7 day vacation for my incentive. Supposed to be "free.". I call today and the only options I have are for $100/person. Although it is an all inclusive resort, this is not a free vacation as pitched. For 4 adults in my party, that's $2800.00! Let's do the math on the original offer... $0.00 multiplied by $0.00, carry the $0.00 DOES NOT EQUAL $2800.00.

Definitely a scam. (FYI, I'm not a rookie to travel/timeshare promotions.) Received the promotion. Registered my destination and 3 dates of choice. (This used up 2 of the 12 months time allotment so far.) When attempting to make the final booking (this used up 150+ minutes of cell phone time because they keep you on hold hoping you'll give up) there...

I was very excited, I had never been on a cruise and my husband and I weren't exactly going on a honey moon, we were traveling overseas with both our families, so we figured we could use this cruise for our first anniversary...

Spirit Incentives Did not receive $50.00 rebate as promised

My wife and I spent a week in Williamsburg, Va., using an offer by Spirit Incentives. We had to send them $50.00 up front, that was to be refunded at the end of the vacation. We were lodged at a Wyndam property in Williamsburg and enjoyed our stay. We paid $15.00 per day for room taxes which we expected. All went well except we haven't received our $50.00 refund. Unfortunately, we tossed out all the paperwork from the trip and have no way to contact Spirit Incentives. If some one has that number, please forward it to [protected]@cox.net. Thanks.

Oh my gosh... I just got on the internet to get Spirit Incentive's phone number to ask for my 50.00 deposit back, and I am hearing similiar stories to my experience. I chose the 3 possible dates for my vacation and have not heard from them. I called them and they told me someone would be calling me soon, that was 6 weeks ago. I just want my 50.00 deposit back! What criminals.. how can they get away with this...

I also have had a bad experience with Spirt Incentive. We went to there meeting in Nov, of 07 and I sent in the $50.00 depoist on December 7, and have never heard from them again.

Spirit Incentives Non-compliance to their agreements

We joined Global Vacations and received a free 2 night stay from Spirit. We have been working hard for 7 months to try to receive our "free" 2 night stay. It seems like they have a system in place that encourages not using their service because they change things along the way, don't verify any dates and then they pass, etc. To which it looks like our time will be up (1 year) and we will not be able to use this "free" service.

I must say it is certainly not "free" of anxiety and time usage as you try to get a hold of people and finish their cumbersome process. Not to mention the 80+ dollars in deposit and taxes for the hotel I hope we receive back!

This should be illegal - but I'm sure their lawyers know all the boundaries. Too bad!

I won two vouchers at a home and garden show by spinning a wheel and it landed on free trip. Well free is funny because nothing is EVER free. I happily chose Myrtle Beach and prepared for the fun. Mailed in 50.00 because I was so excited only to receive it back stating that the certificate is void because the company did not put a date on it. Ok! They had us sign a paper that we won just call them and verify a date. Thank God they did return my check and now I see all this emails saying they are non compliant with there word. So I guess I am kind of lucky. I will plan my trip the most economical way for my family and myself without the headache from Sprit Incentives. If anyone hears they won a trip run and don't look back.

Well I went 2 a 90 minute/3 hour to get the trip that was offered. They tell you to go on-line & pick your dates...I can't even do that. They say my certificate number isn't valid. I've called..(long distance)was put on hold for 12 minutes..and was told to try again.They assured me it would work..well it's been almost 2 weeks & I still can't log on..so far I've lost almost three months..is this hell I've entered.My last e-mail I just asked for my $50 back. We'll see what happens.

Spirit Incentives Don't plan anything with these rip-offs!

I was supposed to get a free trip after purchasing a package from a radio station, I had to pay a $50 deposit and give 3 dates. I did what they asked but did not have the dates available and gave me an alternate date o Tampa Florida. I set up the date with my family. I went out of town and while out of town received another letter saying I had to pay another $32.00 in taxes upfront and I had only 14 days to send in the taxes. When I got back I was past the date to send the tax money in so they canceled my planned trip and asked me to submit another 3 dates. This has been going on for 6 months.

I finally told them to send my original $50 deposit. I am going to pay for the trip myself. I looked on internet and found that Spirit Incentives has many similar complaints. I warn you, don't plan anything with these rip-offs, they just want to keep delaying till you get frustrated and finally stop dealing with them, that is their whole strategy. Just keep your money and pay for the trip yourself, this is NOT a free trip. The amount of frustration and idiot customer service people you have to talk with is agonizing. Stay away from these people, they are just irresponsible and do NOT care about you or your satisfaction. They care about taking your $$$.

I took my kids for a trip to The Great Wolf Lodge that I received through Spirit Incentives! It was wonderful! We took advantage of the wonderful indoor waterpark, and the kids also had a blast doing the "MagiQuest" throughout the hotel. The check-in was flawless, and I wouldn'tve traded this experience for the world. I'm a single mother of 4 and couldn't normally afford to take my kids on a "staycation" but thanks to Spirit Incentives, I was able. Thanks!

As of this date, I am about finished dealing with these A$$HOLES (aka spirit incentives customer service reps)! When I submitted my three dates, the 2nd date I really wanted was not available due to the "30 Day" rule where the last date fell 1 day after the expiration! When I contacted a S.I. Rep about this prior to submitting the dates, I was told that it would not be a problem and that all I needed to do was to contact S.I. when I received the letter and they would change the date to accomodate our trip. Easy enough, right? WRONG! Upon receiving the letter that the first stated that the first date was not available, I contacted S.I. and spoke with a rep. During the conversation with this brickwall, he informed me that there was NO POSSIBLE WAY TO CHANGE THE DATES (notice I stress this sentence!)! After approx. 15 minutes of going back and forth with this guy with him trying to enforce the "participation rules", I informed him that I had already spoken with a rep prior to submitting the dates and I was advised that all I needed to do was call and they would change it. He then advised me that he saw in my account notes from the previous conversation with the other rep, where it stated what I had just told him. He quickly told me that I misunderstood what he was telling me and that they would be more than happy to try to move the reservation for me. He then told me that all I needed to do is contact the reservation department when the next date became available and they could assist me (that is if they even have an available date that is convenient for me!) When I confronted him regarding this "mishap" of information he was giving me from the start, he continually denied saying what he said. As I grew more and more frustrated with his LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE, I asked to speak to his manager. After being put on hold for 5-7 minutes, the same guy came back on and told me that he could not find a supervisor who was not helping another certificate holder! WHAT A CROCK OF BS! Actually, if their other reps are as bad as the guy I got, then I could see where all the supervisor's WOULD have to be working overtime just to correct the mistakes of their employees! Let's see if I will actually hear back from them!

We had problems similar to others listed here. My advice, fight them. You can get what was promised. We reported to the Better Business Bureau www.bbbsoutheastflorida.com I also called the place that gave us our vacation voucher. I had extra leverage because I had become a customer of the business that gave us the voucher. I’m not sure which did it, but we received a call from Spirit Incentives the next day! It was another office. The person we talked to seemed to be the one who works with people once they complain to the right people. She found a vacation date that worked for us. When I asked her why they wouldn’t work with us before, all she would say is that, “ well we are working with you now.” She even returned our call ounce when her voicemail picked up! If the two previous routes didn’t work I was also going to contact the Florida Attorney General. Others on other blogs had said that this method had worked for them. I also found a website: www.complaint.tv I also sent them my information on the same day that we were contacted by Spirit Incentives to work with us. Complaint.tv will send your message to any major city local news channel you want. Now what I am doing is posting to all these blogs so that more people don’t get screwed.

How do they get away with being such a crappy business? You aren’t their customer, whoever gave you the voucher is their customer. They don’t have to make you happy as long it doesn’t affect their relationship with those customers who purchase large quantities of their vouchers. They make more money when they don’t give anything

If you are interested to know what our situation was, we were given a voucher for a free cruise. We elected for the 7-day cruise which meant a larger payment for taxes and fees. They didn’t contact us when they said they would. When we contacted them (lots of being put on hold) they said that all three-departure dates we asked for were taken. We were given one date only which I couldn’t get off work for. They told us, “sorry, too bad, guess you can’t go.” Then they told us they didn’t have a record of our payment!

Once we selected our three dates, the confirmation note that I was supposed to keep for my records very clearly stated "a reservation agent will be contacting you within 45 days prior to your FIRST travel date to review possible itineraries and options" Low and behold, that first travel date is in three days and we have received ZERO phone calls. We finally decided to call them. It is too late for us to ask off vacation time within the next month (we both have real, full-time jobs!), but guess what--because that is one of the dates we chose and it is available--we are up a creek without a paddle. Dates cannot be changed once you have made you first selection of possible dates. Even if they never contacted us. Consequently, they are sending us a refund for our security deposit. But I do not want a refund! I want my "free" vacation!

I was awarded a "free" cruise for touring a vacation condo in Gulf Shores Alabama. I had to send in a $100.00 deposit (refundable) and select 3 dates. I received two letters stating that 2 dates were unavailable in the promotion. After almost a year I got a letter telling me I had to pay $318.00 in port fees and taxes and should send a check within 14 days. I called and they explained that I could charge the fees and set the reservation over the phone. The first thing they did was offer an upgrade to an outside room on the lowest deck for an additional $100.00 per person with bunk beds. Or a higher deck with single beds that could be moved together for $199.00 per person. Then after they "checked with the ship" there would be an additional $199.00 per person Peak season Surcharge (April 19). Total $1, 118.oo

I called a cruise agent in New Orleans they offered a highest level room for $811.00 with queen bed and ocean view suite.

Spirit Incentives only incentive is their own pocketbook. I refused the cruise and requested a refund of my $100.00

Don't go see anything that they are involved in, as they are snake oil salesmen.

We were offered a 4 night cruise with Majesty of the Seas
After a year of not having a date they finally gave me a cruis with Carnival.. It is a much cheaper line and I had to up grade and give taxes of 500.00 dollers. The cruise is worth 329 per person. They won't do anthing about it.

Spirit Incentives is a super rip off! They wear you down with the "unavailable" routine, then try to get as much money out of you before you give up... don't even think you will get the refund back. The customer service is horrible and rude when questioned about details. Save your time and money!

Learn how to read the *small print* and you might get somewhere. I got my free vacation and loved it.

I won a Spirit Incentives package from Royal Prestige, a company that calls newly engaged couples, and uses Spirit Incentives to get you to watch their presentation on their cookware, in hopes that you will purchase it. I recently received the Spirit Incentives contract for their vacations--there was so much small print that I decided to pretend I never had a "free" honeymoon and went to my travel agent. You could only use your trip for Sunday-Tuesday arrivals, they could not guarantee a date, and there were several additional fees that you had to pay to have the "free" vacation. Needless to say, I am not impressed.
