It's been a long road here
It's been a long road here. Our community is under new owners, and Dawn has been here the longest. She definitely deserves 5 stars.
Great company!
Great company! I've been here for 'bout a year and just resigned my lease. They're great for pet owners, super accommodatin', friendly, and prompt.
Me and my hubby been livin' here for like 3 years now!
Me and my hubby been livin' here for like 3 years now! We totally dig it! They always fix our stuff when we ask and handle problems. 5 stars all the way!
I just moved into an apartment managed by Rowan Property Management, and I gotta say, I'm lovin' it!
I just moved into an apartment managed by Rowan Property Management, and I gotta say, I'm lovin' it! Their online portal makes payin' rent and askin' for maintenance help a breeze. They're awesome.
I've been renting an apartment from this company for a year now
I've been renting an apartment from this company for a year now. They've always been really friendly and professional. Whenever I've had a maintenance request, it was handled real quick! They always keep the outside of the apartments real clean. This has been the best renting experience I've ever had!
I've been living in an apartment since September
I've been living in an apartment since September. I really like the area and haven't had any major problems with the apartment itself. However, I've had some issues with maintenance and communication from the management. I've had to contact them multiple times for various problems like my heat not working, a leaking sink faucet, a broken dishwasher, a leaking water heater, and replacement keys. Unfortunately, only one of these issues has actually been fixed. It's frustrating that I can never speak directly with someone in the office; instead, I have to call a maintenance hotline and they just create another ticket that doesn't seem to go anywhere. I think my next step will be to file a complaint with the housing commission and hopefully get some resolution.
I had a good time renting with Rowan
I had a good time renting with Rowan. They always fix my maintenance stuff quickly, and the maintenance guys are good at keeping me updated even if there's a delay, so I don't feel abandoned. Their online thing is great for talking and paying rent, and they don't charge me for using it like other places do. They also talked to us about COVID stuff when everything shut down in March , even though I didn't need it. You should give them a shot. They're good.
Don't rent from Rowan Property Management, LLC, no matter what
Don't rent from Rowan Property Management, LLC, no matter what. We moved from Portland, Or to Kansas City and rented a house from Rowan a month ahead of time. (During the pandemic) After all the stress of moving and cleaning one house and then traveling 2,000 miles, we arrived at a completely unlivable home. TWO broken showers. An oven that doesn't work. Holes, screws, and just general trash left by the previous tenant. Clear signs of someone breaking in that were never fixed. Obvious water damage with walls, ceilings, and floors peeling and cracked. The place was worn out from the previous tenants, with scuff marks everywhere, paint that was cracked, cabinets that were broken, and walls and baseboards with mismatched paint. Brandon L is a clueless, rude jerk who lacks empathy almost as much as Donald Trump. He promised to start fixing the issues by noon the next day, but he didn't keep his word. Only after my boyfriend bothered him multiple times did he finally arrange for maintenance to fix ONE of the two showers. The maintenance workers didn't wear masks in my house and did a sloppy job of covering up a serious problem. This whole experience has been a nightmare and completely unnecessary. We haven't heard back from anyone at Rowan about when we can at least have a home that works properly. Unfortunately, it seems like things will only get worse before they get better.

Moved in on 4/21/22 and guess what?
Moved in on 4/21/22 and guess what? The darn refrigerator/freezer decided to stop working just a few days later. I called up maintenance and they sent a technician over to take a look. He took the whole thing apart and said he needed to bring a new appliance. Well, it's been a while now and despite my countless calls and emails, I still don't have a working refrigerator as of 5/11/22. Can you believe it?
I had to take matters into my own hands and buy a small dorm fridge just to keep my daughter's precious milk safe. And as if that wasn't enough, my HVAC system decided to join the party and stopped working on 5/9. I quickly put in an online maintenance request, but guess what? No response. I even made follow-up phone calls and sent emails, but it's like they've disappeared into thin air.
Let me tell you, it's been a scorching 85 degrees in my house. Way too hot for my poor 2-year-old daughter and me to stay there comfortably. It's just not fair, you know? We deserve better than this.
I moved into this apartment complex in Sept
I moved into this apartment complex in Sept. 2022. Since then I've had to file multiple complaints and request, for first my heat during weather and now I have been with out AC. I first put the AC request in of Apr. 2022. A maintenance worker came by within 2 days, checked and stated the furnace/ac unit was over 15 years old and hadn't been maintained so a part would have to be ordered. I was told it would be a week, at most. Here we are, May 2022 and I have made multiple attempts to the property management and the maintenance hotline. I have not been contacted back yet. I have a 4 year old child I care for, and this week in Kansas City Missouri temps have been in the upper 90s.
I've been dealing with a mouse problem for 5 months now
I've been dealing with a mouse problem for 5 months now. I told the office about it and where the mice are coming from since January. I asked them to fix the holes, but maintenance hasn't come yet. The pest control bait stations don't work, and I've told them that before. I bought traps myself to get rid of the mice in this apartment. My brother even tried to plug the holes himself. Calling the office or submitting a request doesn't help at all. I have a young kid, and this place is not suitable for us to live in. I shouldn't have to live like this. I've never had this problem before, and it's terrible that there hasn't been a quick solution for it.

I live in a 5 bedroom house and the top floor has a different heater than the rest of the house
I live in a 5 bedroom house and the top floor has a different heater than the rest of the house. The rest of the house has central heat. My bedroom has a wall unit. The wall unit has had problems since November. They came out and temporarily fixed it once and said they needed to order a new part for it. They came out again and said they temporarily fixed it again while I was at work. By the time I got home from work, it wasn't working again. I've been calling weekly for over 2 months now and still can't get anyone besides the maintenance hotline to answer. Even when we had the -11 temperatures, I didn't have heat in my room. I had to use a space heater which is causing my bill to go up. When I call the office, there's never anyone there. I've left multiple messages with multiple people. The maintenance people are the only ones who answer and all they can do is put in a request. I haven't received responses from the owner, the property manager, or the director.
I reported issues with my stove not working on September 11
I reported issues with my stove not working on September 11. No one came to my house until October 21. At that point, they determined it was a problem with *** (the gas company). The fact that no one came out to tell me that for 6 weeks is ridiculous. *** got everything taken care of and then notified me my stove had a leak. I contacted Rowan again and they send someone out the first week of November (2 weeks later) to replace the stove with another very used stove. They installed it and left. After a few hours, I got light-headed and dizzy and called *** to check my place. The *** tech informed me there was gas "blasting" into my apartment. The main gas valve was so loose he could move it with his hand, which is something that should not be possible. After fixing their sloppy work, he also found that the replacement stove had a leak as well. I contacted Rowan who, in turn, contacted Appliance 911. Appliance 911 contacted me, and we set a date to meet. I could not be home at that time, so I called and emailed Rowan to coordinate a time for one of their maintenance people to meet the Appliance 911 tech and let them in my house. That never happened, and of course, no one in their office has any recollection. The communication in this office is non-existent. After speaking to someone who essentially told me she had no idea what to do, she gave me *** number. Her boss, who I called and of course got no answer. I have also emailed *** multiple times in the last few days, an email inbox I was informed was monitored by *** as well, but still have no answer. In addition to that, I have text their general inbox and didn't get any answer. Looks like they respond to these ComplaintsBoard.com complaints, so maybe I can have a working stove before Christmas because as of now, I have gone from 9/11-19 without one. 10 weeks really?
I saw a unit on 10/16
I saw a unit on 10/16. The person showing me the unit told me and my mother that the unit would look the same and be in the same position, just in a different building. I communicated back and forth for a month about my situation, including my disability. I specifically asked for certain things for my disability during the viewing, and they said they could make it happen. That was the deciding factor for choosing this location. A ground floor unit. But they didn't consider it. Also, the unit they gave me is much smaller. I wasn't allowed to see my unit until I made payment and transferred my lights, despite insisting for days due to my disability. On moving day, the unit was extremely dirty and unpainted, even though I signed the lease a week prior. When I arrived, the cleaning staff was still there, and the walls and floors were disgusting. I had an appointment at 10:30 AM, but the person didn't show up or answer my calls. I called all available numbers repeatedly for an hour, but no one responded. Finally, a woman from maintenance called me back and said she would get back to me. In addition to taking my money, they didn't let me view the unit before making the final payment because I wasn't sure. They didn't accommodate my disability despite my multiple requests. They breached the contract and refused to answer my questions. It's a scam! When I went to the office on the day of move-in, everyone suddenly became busy. They hadn't been answering phones or texts and were just sitting there ignoring them. The lady at the office told me that everyone could see the messages to that line I was texting. That means they repeatedly ignored my messages, calls, and requests. She kept smiling and laughing in my face as if being homeless was a joke. Now, I have nowhere to move because they ignored me and scammed me out of $1,600!
I applied for a rental property in Kansas City, KS through Rowan Property Management's website
I applied for a rental property in Kansas City, KS through Rowan Property Management's website. They redirected me to their online application form. I applied on 5/25/22. I made it clear that my son and I needed to leave our current living space by 4/8/22. I called regularly to check on the status. Every time I called, they said they were waiting to approve or deny me. A week later, I received a text saying they didn't have any two-bedroom units available. However, they said I could be approved for something else, so I suggested the one-bedroom they had at the same location. Another three days went by without any updates, and then they told me I didn't earn enough and needed a cosigner. I submitted the child support I receive as additional income. Two days later, they informed me that they had sent it to the company President for review. It's been two weeks now (almost three weeks later), and they're telling me that the application has been passed on to the Property Owner, and they have no control over it. Meanwhile, my son and I are without a place to live, and I don't want to use up all my security deposit money applying elsewhere. I just want to know if I've been approved or denied so that we can find somewhere to live. This feels like discrimination because I have repeatedly explained our situation in countless emails, phone calls, and texts on my behalf, yet the situation is still not being handled promptly or with care. I didn't expect my application to be the top priority or expedited, considering the ample time I gave from the application date to the move-out date. No application process should take three weeks. I can't believe how little regard and care they have shown in this situation, especially in the way they're 'handling' it.
