Chargin' *** high interest rates durin' this coronavirus pandemic, they should be made to lower their interest rates so that all Canadians have a fair shot at gettin' ahead durin' this crisis.
Santander Consumer Inc is a total scam!
Santander Consumer Inc is a total scam! They told us they don't finance rebuilt vehicles, but we discovered that our current vehicle has a rebuilt status. We had a safety inspection done, and it failed. Now, we're stuck with over $5000 in repair costs.
I just started being a customer of this company and I had to give them a call about my problems
I just started being a customer of this company and I had to give them a call about my problems... They were really great to deal with... I never had a lender be so helpful... I really suggest these folks... Thanks for your help Santander consumer.
I ain't too pleased with this company
I ain't too pleased with this company. I got a car that wasn't what I was supposed to get, and the contract got messed up 'cause of some bad paperwork. I sent the car back a few months after I got it 'cause I called the company and complained. But now they're sayin' I still gotta pay 'em.
If I could give a bad rating, I would!
If I could give a bad rating, I would! This company is the worst. I had a car loan with them for 6 months and it was a total headache. They took extra payments and even took out a payment three weeks after I traded in my car, and they refused to give me a refund. Stay away from this company! The staff is very rude and not helpful at all.
If I could give them a zero review I would!
If I could give them a zero review I would! The worst people I have EVER dealt with. They call me up to 7 times a day and they called my friend giving her information on my account that is private! Rudest customer service and horribly unfriendly! They’ll harass you till your last breath! My payments are made and yet they say they aren’t. They took two payments out in ONE day! NEVER EVER EVER BUY A CAR THROUGH CARFINCO!

Not good company to deal with under any circumstances
Not good company to deal with under any circumstances. Their interest rate too high, they didn’t cooperate with their customers during the pandemic. I was paying my installment for over 2 years with no delay and when I asked with respect to my agreement with the Carfinco to lower my installments only till the business back again they responded back that I’m not qualified, i asked again that I do wish to keep my good record with you but no mercy.
So, I paid off my car loan with Santander and they took 2 extra payments even after it was all paid off
So, I paid off my car loan with Santander and they took 2 extra payments even after it was all paid off. Until now, I haven't received any refund for those extra payments. The phone number doesn't even work. I've tried calling and emailing them multiple times, but they never answer or respond. In my opinion, they seem more interested in getting your business than actually providing good customer service. It's a common thing with financial institutions, they just don't care about their customers. If you happen to miss a payment for any reason, they have no problem reaching out to you! I wouldn't recommend using them, I give them a low rating.
We got a loan from Carfinco for our car, and we've been making payments for 3 years
We got a loan from Carfinco for our car, and we've been making payments for 3 years. Unfortunately, my husband had a stroke and now he has brain damage and memory loss. He can't work anymore, so we called Carfinco to ask if they could lower our monthly payments from $548.31 to $300.00. The person on the phone said no three times. I told her three times to come and take the car back, but she refused to do that. I explained that we couldn't afford the car anymore and that my husband had a stroke, but she just said, "Oh well, too bad. You have to come up with the money somehow." I told her we didn't have any money and asked her to please come and take the car, but she still said no. So, I told her that since they wouldn't lower our payments and wouldn't take the car back, I guess we'll just keep driving it until it falls apart. She was really rude and ignorant, so I advise you not to deal with these people.
I ain't happy with this company
I ain't happy with this company. I've been dealing with Caren and she ain't helpful at all. I was sick with COVID- and I mean REALLY sick. It was awful, I couldn't even get outta bed. I had an agreement that got messed up 'cause of my sickness, but she didn't wanna help at all. She said, "I'm in quarantine with COVID and so are my kids, but I'm workin' and we're fine." WOW, no compassion whatsoever and she had the nerve to compare her situation to mine. She don't know 'bout my medical issues and what COVID did to me. Instead, she just threatened to take away my car. Her boss was just as useless, rude and short, didn't care 'bout what I had to say, didn't even wanna listen. I'm only 57 days late on my payment, and I'm more than willing to make arrangements. It's sad to see what kinda people work for this company.
Worst company I have ever dealt with!
Worst company I have ever dealt with! Me and my husband took a car loan with them 2 years ago. We have NEVER missed our bi-weekly payments till March this year when covid hit. I am a stay at home mom and my husband owns his own company. Since the pandemic we have been trying to make ends meet with our 2 daughters under 2 in diapers on 1 CERB pay a month. That being said we STILL are only one payment behind and still not working. The customer service reps have been harressing me, blowing up my phone almost every day (4 times a day) and adding additional stress to an already stressful time. I eventually lost my cool after finding out they have been adding 3.3% EVERY DAY to the payment I missed in March. *** We always pay our bills, but that becomes hard to do when the government shuts down our job sites for the safety of our community. Carfinco has no consideration and have the most ignorant customer service representatives. We are all in this together... EXCEPT for Carfinco apparently. I will be warning everyone I know not to ever deal with your company. company I have dealt with.!
I bought a 2018 Dodge Ram Sport and was making weekly payments
I bought a 2018 Dodge Ram Sport and was making weekly payments. But in December, my job changed and I needed to change the payment dates. I called Santander Consumer Inc. to request the change, but they charged me for a NSF (Non-Sufficient Funds) fee. I believe I gave them enough time to make the change. We agreed on the phone that my new paycheck dates were the 15th and the last day of the month. However, they tried to make me sign a new contract with a higher interest rate, which I refused. All I wanted was a simple change in payment dates.
Suddenly, they started taking money from my bank account before my paydays, resulting in more NSF fees. I felt this was extremely wrong and against the law, so I decided to switch banks. Even though my previous bank put the payment through despite my stop payment request, I still felt violated. I moved the payments to a savings account, fully intending to pay, but I wanted them to listen to me first. Unfortunately, it was like talking to a brick wall.
I consulted with a lawyer multiple times, and they confirmed that what Santander Consumer Inc. was doing to me was illegal. However, in ***, there is a consumer protection law called seize or *** that apparently shields them. I eventually let them seize the truck, but their actions have severely damaged my credit, which I had worked hard to restore over the past 6 years. I believe they should face criminal charges for how they treated me and for thinking they could access my bank account whenever they pleased. Yes, I can prove all of this.
I was in an accident and got a $6000 payout for the car cuz they said it was a total loss
I was in an accident and got a $6000 payout for the car cuz they said it was a total loss. I was so surprised to find out that they had $28,000 as the buying price, which I was never told about by the person I signed with from *** (which is another shady company and I don't recommend them either). They want me to give them the whole insurance payout without being able to get another car, and they also want over $1,000 cuz I missed 2 payments (after the accident) and $400+ was nsf fees?! Like seriously, that means they're charging me $80 per nsf fee! On top of that, the check from the insurance company apparently isn't enough even though I pay $225-$250 every 2 weeks for almost a year now. They still want $16,000. If I knew this, I wouldn't have gotten that *** car. The airbag didn't even go off in the accident and the truck hit my front end dead center, totaling it. So overall, I'm just gonna be widowed, trying to get a new place and now a new car, and being put on disability, and they're gouging me for everything I have left. They probably won't be happy unless I'm left on the street with nothing. So much for helping your customers during Covid-19 when they need help. And no, I'm not dumb enough to sign for another car with you guys. I hope no one ever does again. You don't care about helping your customers, you just wanna line your pockets with anything you can get from us, and that's just plain sad... I'm gonna post my story and how carfinco helped ruin me financially and take everything I had left, and they were "sorry" this happened... If you were actually sorry and really wanted to help, the amount the adjuster sent for the car's value should be enough to clear the account, especially since I was charged more for your interest rate than the actual car itself... I'm done getting ripped off by those who claim to help everyone, and I'm gonna do my best to make sure everyone knows how you take advantage of people who need help when you falsely claim that you do. I will never, and I mean absolutely NEVER, deal with this company again.
During difficult time’s currently, I had asked for a month or two of deferral
During difficult time’s currently, I had asked for a month or two of deferral. Because of Covid and my children being home from school; the increased costs associated with this; they refused. Because I haven’t lost my job; I don’t qualify. This is very unfortunate; just because I didn’t lose my job doesn’t mean I’m not feeling hardship. They would only offer a few days extension. This is a very difficult time for many people; I have not missed amy payments; and am nearly 1/2 through my contract.

I went to Santander Consumer Inc's website (http://www
I went to Santander Consumer Inc's website (http://www.santanderconsumer.ca/) and they did a credit check on me without asking for my permission. This is not cool at all. I don't appreciate them snooping around my financial information without my consent. It's a breach of privacy and it's not right. I would advise others to be cautious when dealing with Santander Consumer Inc because they might just go ahead and check your credit without your knowledge.
This is about my car loan account with Carfinco
This is about my car loan account with Carfinco. My payments are $198 every two weeks, but they only report $198 payment per month. They haven't reported to my credit bureau since August, which is hurting my credit score. I want this fixed as soon as possible.
I have a car loan with Santander Consumer Inc
I have a car loan with Santander Consumer Inc. They usually take my payment out on the 20th of each month. However, this time they decided to take it on October 15th, which is not the authorized date. As a result, my bank account is now in the negative by $121. I didn't make any payment arrangements with them, so this came as a surprise. Now, on top of that, I also have to pay a fee to my bank for insufficient funds.

I signed up for a car in Alberta way back in 2016
I signed up for a car in Alberta way back in 2016. The car got taken away (without me knowing or getting told) in 2017, and the owner passed away in the same year. Alberta has a rule where they can take your stuff or take you to court. I went to get a mortgage this month in Aug 2021, and found out that this loan has been messing up my credit for the past 4 years. Carfinco is being called out for not following these rules and still trying to get money from people. I want this loan gone from my credit, and I want them to send a letter to the credit people to fix their mistake.
This company, Santander Consumer Inc, is all about financing vehicles
This company, Santander Consumer Inc, is all about financing vehicles. They paid off my vehicle financing on September 14. But then, on September 25, they took out extra money from my personal bank account. I reached out to them and they admitted that they made a mistake with the extra payment. However, when they returned the money, it was $46.05 less than what they initially took from my account. They claim it's because of interest, but I have proof from the dealership that the interest was already included in the payment schedule.
This Santander company ain't been reportin' to the credit bureau since they took over *** accounts in July
This Santander company ain't been reportin' to the credit bureau since they took over *** accounts in July . It's messin' up my credit real bad, even though we been payin' our bills on time. I reached out to 'em and they say they havin' problems with reportin', but there's been a lawsuit in the USA 'bout the same thing, not reportin'. It's frustratin' 'cause I rely on my credit score to get things done, and this whole situation is causin' a lot of unnecessary stress. I hope they fix this mess soon 'cause it's affectin' a lot of folks.
I live in Ontario and got a car loan from Santander in October
I live in Ontario and got a car loan from Santander in October . My payments are $188 every two weeks and I've been making them perfectly. But there have been two times in the past year, once in July and now again in November, where they didn't subtract any money from my car loan. It's a 54-month loan, so I should be done paying it off by April 2024. Right now, I still owe $6890. The only way I can pay it off on time is if they don't charge any interest for the rest of the term. I think they might be doing something shady to get more money from me.
Santander (***) took my car in July , and since then they've been reporting the wrong info to the credit bureau
Santander (***) took my car in July , and since then they've been reporting the wrong info to the credit bureau. It's messing up my job. I called, but there's only one person who can help, and I left them 8 voicemails. No response. They told me verbally that the balance was charged off because of Alberta's laws, but they won't give me anything in writing or fix my credit reports. I got legal advice, and I'd rather sort this out without going to court, but it's tough when no one wants to talk to me.
I gave back my car to Santander Consumer Inc a while back, but when I checked my credit report, they were still saying I missed payments
I gave back my car to Santander Consumer Inc a while back, but when I checked my credit report, they were still saying I missed payments. I've tried reaching out to them many times, but it's been useless. I called them again today, and they said they'll keep reporting missed payments for this month forever, even though the account is closed and I returned the car years ago. They even mentioned that they'll keep reporting missed payments for more than 7 years just to keep messing up my credit. I mentioned that I have a letter from them that was sent after I gave back the car, but they didn't care. It's really frustrating dealing with Santander Consumer Inc.
I just sold my 2012 Chrysler 200 LX that I financed through Carfinco in 2018
I just sold my 2012 Chrysler 200 LX that I financed through Carfinco in 2018. In 2020, I bought a new car from a dealership in my town. Carfinco cashed the check the dealership sent them, but then had the nerve to claim that the dealership didn't pay them the right amount. They told me it was my responsibility to pay the remaining balance. I contacted my new dealership, and they took care of it by sending Carfinco the remaining $416.00 CAD. I called Carfinco, and they assured me everything was fine. However, when I checked my credit report, it still showed that I owed them $416.00 TWO MONTHS AFTER THIS WAS RESOLVED. I have called Carfinco countless times about this issue, only to be told to "wait." This is a terrible business practice, extremely unethical, and unprofessional. I want this fixed as soon as possible.
I got a loan with this company and I made a payment on March 18th for $761.10
I got a loan with this company and I made a payment on March 18th for $761.10. They took the money from my bank account, but they haven't updated my loan balance. I called them five times in one week to fix this, but they still haven't resolved it. They keep saying they will fix it, but they haven't. They promised a supervisor would contact me, but no one has. Every time I ask for a supervisor, they say there isn't one available. I just want them to post my payment so I can pay off the remaining balance this week and close my loan account. I've never missed a payment and I'm even paying off the loan two years early. It's not fair for them to keep my $761 and not apply it to my account. It feels like they're stealing from me. I really hope they apply the payment soon so I can finally be done with them.
On February 14, I financed a car with Carfinco
On February 14, I financed a car with Carfinco. After driving the car for 2000km, the transmission suddenly failed. It wasn't Carfinco's fault. I reached out to the dealership where I bought the car, and they agreed to fix it. They purchased a used transmission and had it installed in my car. However, the mechanic warned the dealership that this transmission wasn't reliable and that the same issue might happen again. Despite the warning, they went ahead with the installation. Unfortunately, just 500km later, the transmission failed once more, and I was left to deal with it on my own. Frustrated, I asked Carfinco to repossess the car, but they refused. As a result, the car sat in my yard for nearly a year.
Eventually, Carfinco contacted me and proposed a settlement. The new terms reduced the amount I owed and lowered my monthly payment from $504 to $350. I agreed to the new terms. Six months later, they offered a buyout option, stating that I only owed $7000. I have been diligently making payments to reduce this amount.
Overall, my experience with Santander Consumer Inc. has been a mix of frustration and relief. While the initial transmission failure was not their fault, the dealership's negligence and Carfinco's initial refusal to repossess the car added to my troubles. However, I appreciate that they eventually reached out with a settlement offer and a reduced payment plan. I am hopeful that I can fully resolve this issue and move on from this ordeal.
This here's 'bout an auto loan deal with Santander Consumer Inc
This here's 'bout an auto loan deal with Santander Consumer Inc. They went ahead and put in this Start Interrupt Device that stops the car from workin' right. Now, accord'n to Alberta Law, if you done paid off 'bout 66% of the vehicle, they gotta get a court order to take it back. But this company, they keep takin' my car away without no court order, just shuttin' it down (ain't even lettin' me get to emergencies) and they ain't doin' nothin' 'bout it. Santander Consumer ain't been no help at all, and they been chargin' me over $2000 in fees. I reckon they need to be looked into for breakin' them consumer protection laws when it comes to auto loans that's more than 66% paid off. They also gotta give me back all the extra money I done spent on maintenance 'cause of that interrupt device messin' with the electrical system, and fix all the problems it caused with the car's movin' parts.
So, I bought a car from Santander Consumer back in May
So, I bought a car from Santander Consumer back in May. I switched banks and work in remote areas, so I don't have much time to make calls or send emails. I tried calling and emailing them when I had the chance, but I kept getting voicemails and no response from either email or phone. Finally, on July 6th, I got a response, but it didn't provide any real information. So, I replied to that email, asking my questions again about getting everything sorted out. Once again, no response. I sent another email on the 22nd after waiting for over 2 weeks. Finally, on the 22nd, they responded quickly and I was relieved to finally get some information. I was really happy because this meant I could fix everything. I told them I could catch up with two payments. However, I was a day or two late with the second payment because I was out at a site with no reception. They were aware that my old account was inactive, but they kept trying to take payments out, resulting in $80 in NSF fees each time. They also hired a bailiff on the 22nd, which wouldn't have happened if they had responded to my email on the 6th in a timely manner. This made it almost impossible for me to catch up and pay these fines due to their lack of contact. I have paid everything up to date, except for the bailiff fees. I will be making my payments manually now that I know I can do that until this issue is resolved. I informed them that I won't be communicating with them anymore until I hear from them or my lawyer. It's frustrating how they ignored me and caused more financial stress due to their laziness or unwillingness to respond to my email. They hired the bailiff even though my emails clearly showed that I wasn't refusing to pay, but I just didn't have any instructions or communication on how to do so. Please help me and advise on what I should do here. I briefly spoke with someone named *** when I called the ComplaintsBoard.com number, and she was really helpful in directing me here. Thank you for taking the time to review this.
