Santander Consumer USA auto loan

Santander has ruined my life and my credit. The extremely high priced loan I was pressured into taking has negatively impacted my life and my credit. Santander called me all hours of the night and day. They called even after I had already spoken with an agent. After they made arraingements with them once they threatened my credit score, they still reposessed my car without proper notice or right to cure. They are now incorrectly reporting it as a charge off instead of reposession and have skewed the dates to impact my credit longer as well as reported incorrect amounts to the credit bureaus.. I dont want revenge, but justice would be so sweet!

Santander Consumer USA service

I brought my car from Carmax Orlando back in February of 2017. 3 days afterwards I suffered a major heart attack and was hospitalized for 3 weeks due to I had to have open heart surgery. So of course I was out of work. Santander called me and was very rude to me after I even explained my current situation. Well that upsetting conversation sent me back to the hospital and unfortunately I had a TIA due to the stress. Not even 4 days out the hospital, I got news of me having stage 2 kidney cancer stage 1 bladder cancer, so they constantly calling and harassing me, I've made 3 payments on my account. But no one has even offered me any direct help as deferred payment. This ppl is very very inconsiderate, non compassion for their customers.
I would not recommend this company to anyone ever. I wish I would have did my research on them before I purchased my vehicle through them. Cause it's nothing but a serious stress, that's gonna kill me in the end... 😟😦

Santander Consumer USA car loan

I've paid this company over $5, 000 and they are telling me my payoff is about $460 less than I financed. I called and spoke with someone and from what she told me I would pay over $8000 more interest than my contact states. She told me I have a daily interest loan and the interest is $12.01 a day. After I've done the math none of it adds up. Please help me.

Santander Consumer USA auto loan

Bought a vehicle in Sept 2015, Signed paperwork that my 1st payment wouldnt be till Oct 20th 2015. So I went on making payments like nothing was wrong. Pull my credit report trying to buy a home and I notice that every payment I have made showed 30 days past due because Santander had it down that my 1st payment was due in Sept 2015.

When I called them to get this straightened out, they tell me there is nothing they can do about the late payments. I asked them to send me a copy of my payments and my agreements. Conversation went as follows:

Me - Can you send me a copy of my agreement with you, any and all paperwork I signed and a payment history report to my email address on file?
Rep - Sure I can send that paperwork to you, Is your email still [protected]@gmail?
Me - That is correct, I need this so I can file a complaint about this situation.
Rep - Well sir, the only thing I can send is your payment history.
Me - One second, ( I start my phone recorder) I would like to let you know this call is being recorded
Rep - I do not give you permission to record me.
Me - Well I am sorry but according to the "one-party consent" law I can.
Rep - (Speechless)
Me - So You are saying that you cannot send me this via email when you stated a minute ago you could?
Rep - Well that was before I knew what the purpose of it was
Me - (Real loud in my head.. WHAT?)
Me - Ok, So you are denying my request?
Rep - At this time, all I can send is your payment history which you can find online.
Me - Please direct my to someone who can help me with this, who is above you.
Rep - I am the last person who can help you.
Me - Ok, Guess I have all I need.

Come on guys your interest rates in the stare of florida is stealing from the poor. Lets get your act together. Sad and very upset with your services

Santander Consumer USA unethical behavior

I bought this car in 2010 and the loan was given to me double the amount of the car. I have religiously made payments on-time. I reviewed my credit score they reported me late every month. I asked for an extension they stated they processed it but never did. I called repeatedly getting no real answers, next thing i know my car was towed and damaged. I paid the balance they claim i owed and now they are billing me 1115 every other month that is not my agreement. I paid all the fees up front, they won't response to my questions. I call repeatedly and the towing service damaged my vehicle that cannot be repaired. This company is a scam and they abuse customers.

Santander Consumer USA unauthorized charges

I am extremely upset with this bank. I was a customer for about 10 years before I closed my account on July 7th, 2017. I made sure to empty my account before closing it. I was made aware to cancel any occurring payments with Santander, since it would not go through the account anymore. However, on July 17th, 2017, a payment was made to Liberty Mutual through my " closed account". I admit fault for not providing Liberty Mutual with my updated bank information, but I do not see that I need to Santander the $35 overdraft fee. I spoke to Jen in Customer Service on July 20 and she did not even let me pay my account off so we can "close it again". In the end, she told me I could let it go to collection and pay it off that way.
I have been issues with Santander for many years, including identity frauds and rude customer service. All I wanted to do was pay off my balance over the phone and be done with this bank.

Santander Consumer USA loan denial

I submitted information from my job to Santander and waa given a 2017 Nissan Sentry in which was taken bk by the dealer by stating Santander said I dont get Pay stubs? In which I do get from my employer who does not pay in a traditional way. I couldnt get in contact with anyone whom i could speak to and take care of this matter. So in my opinion Santander sucks!

Santander Consumer USA principal not going down on vehicle

I've paid on this loan on time for more than a year (even paying more than the loan) and I still owe the same amount from the inception of the loan. I've never paid on a loan and the amount never decreased. It appears that the finance company doesn't want the loan to be paid off. It's unacceptable. I'm looking to join a class action lawsuit to remedy this problem or contact an attorney. I spoke with a representative with Santander with no prevail!

Santander Consumer USA auto loan

I bought my car in 2010 through carmax. At the time of my purchase I really did not want to get a car with payments. I had a car that was paid for and was smashed and destroyed by a drunk driver so I had no choice. I really needed transportation. I ended up getting laid off but still managed to make payments. I got sick but still tried my best to make payments. I was deferred several times. Well come to find out the car was $13, 000 and I ended up having to pay $24, 999 dollars. I ended up homeless trying to keep up with these payments. I paid so much money on this car that I am still hiding it to keep it from being repossed; here it is 2017 and they are claiming that I still owe $12, 000 I called them and made a settlement offer to close out the account. They settled with me and told me that they had sent a settlement letter to my email in which they have not; I told myself they will not get another penny from me until I receive that letter. Otherwise if they dont I will just buy me another car with the money that I was able to come up to finish this nightmare. I could have bought me a house with the over charge that santander has emposed on me. The car is a 2008 hyndai sonata if the settlement goes through I will have paid $27499!

Santander Consumer USA is a scam company along with the dealerships they are associated with. They provided a loan at a whopping 21 percent on a vehicle my daughter bought from a dealership that scammed her. She did not need a car...She went in for a simple oil change. She felt she was being held hostage all day at the dealership as they conned her into having this and that done to the car...things that the car did not need! Things they most likely did not even do! They told her there was no shuttle...no loaner to pick up her kids... Desperate to pick up her kids she ended up buying an old vehicle on their used car lot with 84k miles!. Not only did the dealer charge her $17, 900 for the fair condition vehicle... in addition, the tax and dealer fees came to about 21k! The price on the sticker was 14, 500!. She had taken a picture of the sticker price which she saved and still has!. The vehicles retail Kelly Blue Book value was 11k!. Wholesale price on that vehicle was 7k! They gave her 5k on her vehicle that was worth 8k. Again, her car was fine...nothing wrong with it and only needed an oil change. We believe both the dealer and the Santander Consumer Companies are scam artists and both are basically stealing from innocent consumers. They know what they are doing!... There should be laws against these practices... these companies are thieves and the world needs to know it. Red flags should go up at the loan companies when a loan application comes to them that is grossly inflating the price of the vehicle. A reputable loan company should spot it and question the dealership for errors in contracts that have grossly inflated sale prices. There should be a government agency fining these companies big time for this. Both the dealers that deal with this company and all those involved with this lending company should go to prison. It is unconscionable what they have done to people. They have openly ruined peoples lives. They should be held accountable in a court of law. I was told by a lawyer friend...to spread the word of what happened... I did...I was several states over when I told a guy...turns out a relative of his had worked at that same dealership!...The relative quit because of the same thing... The relative witnessed customers being scammed just like my daughter and did not want to work there anymore. There needs to be a major lawsuit to bring these companies to their knees. The car dealer was Braman Honda in Lake Worth, Florida.

Santander Consumer USA auto loan payoff

I was closing on a house on february 24th. I tried to pay off my auto loan with santander prior to closing. I mailed a check january 21st. I called numerous times and continued to be told they had not received the check. I finally paid $30.00 to place a stop payment on the check, on their advice, and ended up having the closing attorney overnight a check to santander to pay off the loan (which has yet to be done). They finally applied the check I had written in january, on february 26th, which of course by then I had already placed the stop payment. Now I am paying additional interest, and fees because the sob's held that check for more than a month.
I'm waiting to see how long it takes them to post the check that was sent by the attorney overnight and what additional fees I will end up having to pay. I will pay it, but only because I want to wash my hands of these # and never deal with them again!

Santander Consumer USA they refuse to apply my payments to my principal balance and they refuse to return my calls...

We need to address this issue they said that their records indicate that I signed my contract on oct. 21, 2016, (oh and by the way I am the co-buyer on the account), so with my first payment due being due on dec. 5, 2016... On nov. 29, 2016, at my request, I changed my due date, ok they say my payments were changed from being due on the 5th day of each month to the 15th, and they also stated that by me doing that made me skip a payment? Ok my question to them is how did I skip a payment when all I did was just changed the day to better fits me so that I can make my payments on time at no extra charge which indicated on their website which by the way I do make my payments on time already, and they also stated that from the month of oct. 21, 2016 to dec. 15, 2016, I accrued $743.61 in interest during that time, and as a result they said my first payment was credited towards the outstanding interest balance, which left me a remaining balance that I owe in the amount of $162.01, they also stated that the outstanding and accrued current interest was satisfied with my second payment in the amount of $581.60, which was received on jan. 13, 2017. Let me first say that, they gave a great presentation, all though the remaining balance of interest that I still owed from the outstanding balance as they stated which was $162.01, and the current interest I accrued on my second payment on jan. 13, 2017, which was $324.25 which made my total interest to pay is $486.26, and I made a payment of $581.60 that left the amount of $95.34 left to go towards my principal balance now let me say this after all the numbers they stated my principal balance was $23, 430.00 shouldn't my principal balance be 23, 334.66 instead of 23, 402.94 which is what they have my balance at now... So where is the rest of my money at $95.34?

I don't understand their business practices because I made a large payment on April 11, 2017 in which they took out double the interest and said I don't have a payment due until June 14, 2017 but yet when I called and questioned this I was told that I had to call after I make a payment to tell them how much I want to go to my principle amount due, and that if I made a payment in May that they would take interest out of that payment, because I accrue interest of 6.63 a day. So then I asked well if y'all ate telling me that you took the interest out of my money for April and May then anything I pay in May should all be applied to principle and nothing towards interest because I should not accrue interest until after my payment due date from May to June. Then I was told I had to call them after I make my payment in May to make sure they apply it all to principle so they won't take any interest out. My problem is is it sounds like they are double charging me interest. I had to buy a car but I Aldo had a run around from the car lot for over a month just getting this car because the first car they had for me they couldn't find anyone to finance a 2010 Toyota Scion but that didn't make since because they could find someone to finance me a newer car 2015 Hyundai Elantra. How am I supposed to feel about this? And what can I do about this?

Santander Consumer USA loan interest rate and payments

I purchased a vehicle from napoli nissan in milford ct in which santander consumer usa is the loan servicer. I have owned the vehicle for 3 years now and have made payments on the vehicle on time and I have also been late. I have stayed in communication with santander usa and have explained to them that I lost my job 6 months ago and needed to apply for deferment so I go back into current status and continue making payments. They denied my application. I am behind on the vehicle, the interest rate is 17.0 percent and the legal interest rate in ct is 12.00 percent. I believe this is a scam and a predatory loan as well. After paying the vehicle for 3 years, they say my payoff quote is 16103 when purchased the vehicle for 14, 000.00. This bank is a nightmare, they don't provide payment plans, only 1 for the life of the loan and they don't refinance. On top of that they representatives are rude. I am demanding a resolution with a lower interest rate that I acceptable for a lower payment on the loan. I intend to file a class action law suit against santander consumer usa for predatory lending.

Santander Consumer USA shady business practice

I had my car repossessed recently by santander... That I have no issues with as I was late on making my payments. The issue I have is with the underhanded little phone game they played after my car was taken. Once I realized my car was repo-ed I immediately tried calling them to find out any info and find out if I could make the back payments and get my car back, but every time I called i'd either get hung up on or i'd just get this ad loop about getting some sort of gift card, over and over again. Once I realized my calls were being transferred to somewhere else I finally had the brains (thank god) to call from another number and low and behold my call was answered! This was after hours of calling! What a shady thing to do! Shame on you santander. Long story short I was finally able to get my car back after paying a lot of money and spending a lot of time and legwork. But if I hadn't been smart enough to call from another number i'd have been screwed! Shame on you for playing this nasty mean cruel phone game santander. Shame on you.

Santander Consumer USA car loan

We had or car repossessed by santander in the middle of the night not knowing we owed them. We did assume or payments were on auto pay since we just bought our car from a nissan dealership and they had put our last car on auto pay. They claimed we owed them 3 month past due which amounted to 914.27 which was 3 month plus an accrued interest of 590.83 and 29.48 of unpaid fees and charges. We paid them the money to get our car back and paid what we owed then they sent us a statement stating everything was fine on 09/11/2016 then another statement on 10/12/2016 saying that we owe them again and this time the amount was 974.86 they did not update their paper work and sent me a statement saying I did not pay. Then they said I had to pay back the accrued interest they had put on my car for late payment of 679.93 which we paid 690.88 on 11/07/2016. We figured we were fine because they sent a statement stating that we were up to date on our payment and we did not have to pay until 01/01/2017 and we were given the statement on 11/11/2016. Now they are calling stating that we are 22 days late on our payment and when I looked online they had another statement up that I did not receive in the mail that said we were suppose to pay for the month of december but the statement they sent me said otherwise. What are they trying to pull here. Why didn't they send me the statement that said I had to pay the month of december they had plent of time to send that and why would they post it online when I never signed up for paperless statements and why are they trying to charge me for their mistake? When one of santanders representative called on 12/21/2016 they claimed that they had refunded the money we paid in november but when I checked my husbands bank account the money was not returned as was said by the rep.

Santander Consumer USA refusal to reverse incorrect charges/fraud

When I woke up to find 8 transactions in the exact amount of $66.86 from tokyo disney (I live in nj) I called customer service. I am overdrawn nearly 1500 as a result. I was told that they can do nothing except note it, because the charges haven't yet posted. I have to call them back when the charges do post to ask and have them reversed. Oh, so the charges can't be reversed because they haven't posted, but they can deduct the $ with no challenge whatsoever. The rep had zero compassion for the event, for the fact that I have no money or access to money (my debit card is now cancelled and have to wait 10 days for a replacement) less than two weeks til christmas. Disgusting. This account will be closed as soon as this is resolved and i'm filing a complaint with the dept of banking and insurance in nj.
