Terrible Treatment from Scan Computers: Money Taken, No Product, Dismissive Customer Service and Attempts to Censor Honest Reviews
So, I gotta say something about Scan Computers, because they've really managed to tick me off. I don't normally write reviews, but when a company treats me this poorly, I feel like I have to speak out.
I ordered a 3080 from them, and it's been over 11 days and I still don't have it. They took my money right away, but they won't even give me a date when I'll receive my order. Every time I reach out to them on Twitter, I just get some dismissive message telling me to wait.
I mean, come on! They've got thousands of pounds of my money and they won't even give me an update on when I can expect to receive what I paid for. I've spent over ?2000 with them this year alone, and this is how they treat me?
And to top it all off, they reported my review on Trustpilot as fraudulent, saying that I never had this bad experience. That's an outright lie, and I'm waiting for Trustpilot to verify my experience. I guess they're just trying to cover their tracks and hide the real truth about how they're treating their customers.
It's really frustrating to see them only reporting one-sentence five-star reviews and trying to hide anything negative. I just wanted some kind of explanation about why they took my money when they couldn't even supply the product, or at least give me a date on when I could expect to receive it.
But no, they just took my money and left me in the dark. And now they're trying to take down my honest review just because they don't like what it says.
I had to sign something when I put up my review stating that it was a legit experience and that lying could be unlawful. But by taking it down, they're basically calling me a liar! That's not right, and it's not fair to their customers.
I'm done dealing with this company. They can keep my ?772, but they won't be getting any more of my hard-earned money. And I urge anyone else thinking about using Scan Computers to think twice, because if they treat their customers like this, they don't deserve anyone's business.
Edit: I even reached out to the Scan manager involved in the social media side on Twitter, and they dismissed me and took my review down. It's clear they don't care about their customers or their experiences. Trustpilot needs to investigate their behavior and hold them accountable for their actions.
Scan Computers PC Build Review: Sloppy Administration & Locked Motherboard Disappointment
Yo, so I gotta say Scan computers is pretty good with building PCs, but they really gotta talk to their peeps more during the build stage. Like, I ended up with a motherboard that can't overclock the CPU, even though I got a fancy 11900k with a K meaning it's supposed to be unlocked for overclocking. So now I gotta upgrade later on, which is pretty annoying. And then I paid extra for a 3 day build priority, but then they just said it was unavailable on Monday without really explaining why. Like, come on people, don't be so sloppy with your website administration.
Anyway, I was also worried that my 360 rad wouldn't fit in the case, so I talked to the customer service folks online and asked them to check for me. They took a couple minutes, but then they said it would be fine. Okay, not great, but whatever, at least I knew. Then the build team called me on the first day of building and suggested I downgrade to a smaller rad with only two fans because mine wouldn't fit in the case. I was like, nah, but you can upgrade my case with the money you owe me for my 3 day build. And I explained everything that had gone wrong so far.
After that, they were pretty cool to me. They upgraded my case and gave me an extra RGB fan controller thingy for free. And tbh, the PC looks pretty sick now, even though I'm still not happy about the motherboard thing. I guess I should've done more research, but I kinda trusted them to not put locked motherboards in their high end rigs, you know?
Oh, and they fixed the RGB strips setup, which was pretty messed up before. So that was a plus.
Overall, it was a pretty stressful sale for me, since I'm real picky about my PCs and I've always built my own before. But hey, I got through it. And shoutout to DPD for the delivery, since it wasn't Scan's own service or anything.
Disappointing Experience with Scan Computers: Order Delayed for 2 Weeks with Poor Customer Service
Scan Computers is one of the most disappointing companies that I have ever had the displeasure to transact with. I placed my order 2 weeks ago and to my dismay, the order hasn't been shipped. All the items I ordered were in stock and not recent product launches. As a result, there should have been no problem shipping them. However, the website including the COVID-19 page indicated that my order would be shipped the next day.
Unfortunately, that has not been the case. I have been constantly chasing them by email, support contact forms, and other forms of internet messaging with no luck. The live chat feature times out before connecting to an agent, while the phone line is always busy. When I finally get through, I've had to wait for nearly an hour for someone to answer, and when they do, they are completely unhelpful.
It's been two weeks and the tracking information still shows "Awaiting Picking" with no sign of progress. I have received a plethora of creative excuses as to why my order hasn't been shipped, including the need to quarantine the items for 72 hours, delays due to Cyber Monday and Christmas, prioritizing supplies to the NHS, and the need to adapt their business practices to COVID-19.
Despite their repeated assurances that my order is "Urgent," "Critical," and "Important," nothing has been shipped yet. In contrast, I placed orders with six other UK IT suppliers and received my orders within two days. It is unacceptable to leave a customer waiting for two weeks with no communication or updates on their order.
I strongly suggest that you avoid Scan Computers, and instead opt for CCL, Aria, Overclockers, AWD, Novatech, or Amazon. Trust me, you'll save yourself the frustration of dealing with such poor service.
Scan's Poor Customer Service Leads to Frustration and Disappointment: My Experience
I recently did a big shop at Scan on 08/03, spending close to ?1,000 on various items. Imagine my disappointment when my items arrived on 10/03 and I noticed that a CPU fan pin was missing on the motherboard, leaving only 3 instead of the necessary 4. I quickly called up Scan on 11/03 to let them know of the issue and request a replacement. I even told them that I had tried to install it myself but couldn't complete the installation without the missing pin. Unfortunately, their response was less than satisfactory. They sent me an email stating that they had declined my warranty because there was more damage to the motherboard than I had reported and that there was evidence of installation. What a load of nonsense!
I explained my situation to them again, stressing the fact that I had attempted to install it myself and could not do so without that missing pin. They couldn't give me any proof that other components were broken and were clearly just trying to find a way out of replacing my faulty item.
I spent several days going back and forth with Scan, demanding a refund. All they offered was a possible repair at a cost of ?25. To make matters worse, they wanted me to sign a waiver saying that I understood that they may not be able to repair it and that there was no promised timeframe for the repair. This wasn't fair at all as I was in my legal right to get a refund. So, I decided to escalate the complaint to the retail ombudsman. Sadly, they stated they couldn't help me because of Scan's lack of co-operation in previous cases.
Feeling frustrated but undeterred, I decided to escalate the issue to trading standards and citizens advice. They confirmed that I was legally entitled to a refund, so I went back to talking to Scan. But, they were not budging and kept insisting that I was breaching my warranty.
It wasn't until I got Google involved that things finally started to move in my favour. Google, who had certified Scan, refunded me the ?150 that I had spent on the faulty item. They even said that they would chase Scan for the money.
This whole ordeal has made me realise that Scan is just happy to take people's money but not so keen to help when things go wrong. To be honest, I will never use Scan again. The way they handled my issue was totally unacceptable and I would not recommend them to anyone.
Efficient and Reliable: My Experience with Scan - A Review
I was not too sure on whether to upgrade my previous device, the Surface Pro 4, but I thought it was about time. As a semi pro photographer, I needed a device that could keep up with my needs. The go-to for photography is usually Apple products, but I had heard some Windows products could also do just as well.
I browsed through many websites, searching for a good deal on a device that could serve my purposes. That's when I stumbled upon Scan, selling the 2017 Macbook Pro as an Easter promotion. It was nearly two hundred pounds cheaper than refurbished deals being advertised elsewhere.
After reading reviews from different sources, I found that Scan had the best offer in terms of overall price and finance provision, including lower monthly payments, and a 14-day return policy in case the product was not up to my requirements.
So, I took the risk and purchased the device through their website.
The purchasing process was very efficient and everything was made clear from the start. I added the Macbook to my shopping basket, created an account on their website and followed the easy steps of setting up my profile before completing the purchase.
Next, I was redirected to a finance application that was also easy to navigate, and I was accepted almost instantly.
The order acknowledgement and tracking information for the parcel arrived in my inbox within 30 minutes of completing the purchase. The tracking facility was quite accurate, detailing every stage of the picking process, including the name and GPS location of the DPD delivery driver while on their round.
When the item arrived, it was well packed in a genuine Apple refurbished box, just as I had ordered it. As soon as I powered it up, I discovered it had basic charge to test it and it also came with all the advertised accessories.
I would recommend Scan to anyone looking for a transparent and reliable service.
Scan Computers Refund Scandal: Beware of Their Return Policies and Customer Service
These blokes at Scan Computers (scan.co.uk) are just the worst when it comes to refunds, mate. I swapped out one busted product for another, but when I asked for another refund on the second one because it was also busted, they tried to say it was my fault and wouldn't give my money back. They kept yapping about signing some return policy so they could send it off to the makers, but they also said the product was damaged so the warranty would be voided. But get this: THEY WANTED IT BACK ANYWAY! Like, come on, right?
They were mouthing off about being the best at customer service, but the manager (Amanda Savage) they had me dealing with was a real savage herself. First they sent me a heap of blurry snaps where you couldn't even see the PCI card properly, just the bit that holds it in place was damaged. When I called them on it, they sent me some clearer snaps, but the product and the serial number still weren't quite visible. Real shady stuff, right? I finally told them to just send the faulty product back to me so I could check the damage, and mate, I was shocked by what I saw! Someone had bashed in the metal bracket with a screwdriver or long nose pliers.
I'm telling you, I'm going to take this all the way to court if I have to. I've spent over ?5,000 with these chumps over the years and have built a ton of computers too, both for work and for myself. And I've never even scratched a part, let alone damaged one. Not even back when I was just starting out.
Here's my advice if you want to return something to them: get a video of the whole process, from packing to boxing. And make sure you keep it, mate. I reckon they'd treat anyone the same way they did me.
Oh, and just in case they're reading this, my order number was ***953 and the return RMA number was 594325. So you know this is all legit.
My Experience with Scan Computers: Two Faulty EVGA Cards and a Lengthy Investigation
So I'm here to share my experience with Scan computers, and let me tell you, it's been quite the journey. I purchased two EVGA cards from them, and unfortunately, both turned out to be faulty. Now, in my initial encounter with Scan, they were unable to identify the squeaky noise I was hearing from the card, which I thought was a pump noise that was faulty. But, as it turns out, there is no pump so that basically highlights my lack of technical knowledge.
I sent a video of the different noises the fan was making to Scan, but unfortunately, it ended up in their junk mail. During their first test of the card, they concluded that it was not faulty, as they were not able to hear the noise. But, they decided to download the videos and ran an overnight test.
During our conversation, there were a few investigative questions, such as whether I had overclocked the card or used water cooling. It felt like Scan was trying to find a reason not to refund my purchase, but I can understand their position as they wanted to reenact the situation.
To avoid any issues, I suggest keeping track of the minutes used on your faulty product. Otherwise, it can become more trouble than it's worth. It's frustrating to receive a faulty product twice and then have to go through an investigation only after four days of use.
I was informed that EVGA did not find any fault with the first card, but thankfully, Scan heard the same noise. It's essential to note that if you do find a problem with your product, make sure to note the minutes used, have the same environment as the manufacturer and seller, and request an open-ended test period from Scan.
Overall, I lost approximately ?1420, wasted time unpacking and packing the faulty products, and convincing them that there was a fault. And now, I'm still waiting for a conclusion. I appreciate that Scan is trying to help, but the response I received seemed like an automated one.
I have a few questions for Scan, namely, why did they send two faulty products? I paid over the phone, but now I have to prove there is a problem? Why do I have to convince them when they are the ones who sold me the faulty cards?
Unfortunately, I'm not the only one who has received a faulty or open-box product from Scan. This Trust Pilot review shows an example of a customer receiving a used and open-boxed product: [insert link]
In conclusion, my experience with Scan has not been the best, but I'm grateful for their attempts to help. If you're looking to make a purchase from them, I suggest checking reviews and being cautious. As for me, I'll continue my search for a reliable company to purchase from.
Also, to provide some evidence, here's a clip of my GPU noise: [insert video link], compared to another 2080 ti ftw3's normal card: [insert video link].
Scan Computers: Incompetence at Its Finest - My Horrendous Experience
I gotta tell you guys, I had an experience with Scan Computers that you would not believe. It was like something outta Monty Python, I swear. These guys are sooooo incompetent, it makes me wonder if they're actually running a scam under the name of SKAN. I mean, seriously, I can't imagine how they even manage to make a sale!
So, I went on their website and ordered an Asus Zephyrus M. Simple, right? I even made sure to give them the correct billing address and delivery address like they asked. But what do I get two days later? An email saying that DPD couldn't deliver my parcel because I wasn't home. The thing is, I was totally home, waiting for my parcel under the delivery address I'd given them. When I called them up about this, they told me that they attempted delivery at my billing address instead of the delivery address I gave them. What?! I had already taken the day off work to receive my parcel and now had to wait another day, costing me even more stress and money.
Okay, so they promised me that it would be delivered on Monday. It was already two days late at this point, so I was starting to get pretty upset. But did it come on Monday? Nope. They emailed me again, this time saying it would be delivered on Tuesday. So I cancelled my flight to Poland because I needed my computer to give a presentation. I mean, what choice did I have? They'd made me wait for two extra days already and now they were going to come on Tuesday morning, right? Wrong.
On Tuesday morning, I get another email with their apologies and telling me that it won't be delivered until later that day. As in, at night. I mean, what is wrong with these guys? I had to go to Europe without my computer, absolutely livid with anger, and this whole incident ended up costing me wasted time, money, and a ton of frustration.
So I called up Scan, pretty much yelling now, and demanded some recompense for all the ridiculous trouble they had caused me. They refused, saying that there were too many "flags" on my order to proceed with it. Flags? What are they talking about? They listed off stuff like "2x address change requests," "first-time order," "high-value order," and the one that really stung, "company only trading 1 month."
Are these guys for real? I never changed my address, I just phoned them up twice to make sure they got it right. And what's wrong with a first-time order or a high-value order anyway? And as for a company trading only a month, well, jeez, everyone's gotta start somewhere, right? They refused to deliver to me because of all these "flags," basically calling me a potential security risk.
This whole debacle was a prime example of how not to run an online store. They refused to take responsibility for their mistakes, treated me like garbage, and made a joke out of everything. I wouldn't recommend Scan to anyone, not just because of my failed delivery, but because they clearly don't give a crap about their customers. These guys are the biggest [censored]s I've ever dealt with. Stay away, people.
Disappointing Customer Service Experience: My Review of Scan Computers
So, I recently ordered some computer parts from Scan computers, and I gotta say, the prices were pretty good. I'd been shopping around for a while and decided to go with them, since they're a local UK retailer and I didn't feel like giving my money to big bad Amazon. Unfortunately, my experience with them was far from great.
After weeks of researching and comparing products, I finally made my purchase. To my surprise, I was told that delivery would take 9 days, which I guess is understandable given the current Covid situation. However, it still felt like an awfully long time to wait. After 5 days, the package was finally packed and ready to go - not exactly speedy service, if you ask me.
I decided to pay an extra 5GPB to have the items delivered to my home before 12 pm on Thursday (they had originally told me it would be delivered on Saturday). But when the package arrived on May 1st, I found that the PC case was damaged - the two legs at the back were broken in small pieces, making the case unstable and reducing airflow to the PSU. It wasn't a major issue, per se, but it was definitely frustrating to spend 70GPB on a brand new case that came damaged.
I contacted Scan immediately to let them know about the issue. They asked for pictures and information about the damage, which I provided. I was pleased with how quickly they responded to my inquiry at first, but things started to go downhill soon after. They told me that I only had 7 days to return the item, which made me feel a little panicked. When they got back to me 6 days later, they said they had never received the pictures I had sent them. I tried calling them several times over the course of those 5 days, sent multiple emails, and even tried their web chat, but I couldn't get ahold of anyone.
Eventually, I sent them the pictures as attachments and a Google Drive link, just to make super sure they received them. They responded quickly after that and offered to have a courier collect the damaged case between Monday and Friday from 9am to 5pm. It was frustrating to hear that I would have to give up my only working PC while they sorted this out, though.
So, I suggested two other solutions to them. One was to keep the damaged case and receive a voucher for the amount they considered to be fair compensation for the damage and inconvenience. The other was to buy a new case from them and arrange for a collection of the damaged one on the same day. I was really hoping they would go for one of these options, but to my disappointment, they issued a return ticket for the GPU and wifi adapter - two items I hadn't even wanted in the first place! - and offered me a measly 10GPB discount on the case.
Honestly, I was so frustrated with their customer service that I would highly caution anyone thinking of buying from them to think twice. What if there had been a major problem with one of the components? It's definitely not a risk I'm willing to take again.
Scan Computers - An Unfair and Unreasonable Experience
So I bought a Radeon R9-290 graphics card from Scan Computers in January 2015. It cost me ?234.35, but it came with a 12-month warranty which was great. I also purchased other components for a complete PC build. Unfortunately, the graphics card turned out to be faulty and made my PC completely useless. I reported the issue to Scan in February, but due to personal issues in my life, which included moving house, I had to put the matter on hold for a few months. I never told Scan that the fault had been resolved, as it had not. Recently, I had the time to sort the issue out and I decided to get in touch with Scan, hoping that as the product was still under warranty, it could be easily resolved.
However, this was far from the truth. Scan told me that, since they had not heard from me, they assumed that the fault had disappeared. This was totally unfair, as they should have contacted me before making any such assumption. Additionally, they failed to find the fault when the card was sent back to them for testing the first time round and argued that it was not faulty. Only after much persuasion from me did they agree to a retest, which finally found the fault I had reported all along. However, I hit another wall when they told me that, according to them, the card was not new and had gained "benefit-of-use." As a result, they could only offer me a partial refund credit of ?138 towards a new card. This was ?96 less than what I had originally paid for the faulty product. How could they have stated that I had "benefit-of-use" from a graphics card that was unusable from the very beginning? It was unfair and unreasonable on Scan's behalf.
I sent countless emails to them, trying to reason and reach a satisfactory solution, but Scan refused to acknowledge my concerns. They offered me a 2GB MSI Radeon R9 380 2G Twin Frozr V or a Gigabyte GTX960 4GB Windforce 2X Cooler OC Nvidia as a replacement. However, these replacement models were significantly lower in specification and value compared to the R9-290 I had originally purchased. I declined all offers since they were below the specifications of my original graphics card.
Finally, I called Scan to obtain an explanation. It was then that they informed me that they could not help me as my issue had been escalated to their social media team. However, this team did not respond to my messages, which were marked as "seen" on Facebook. Scan also refused to replace my R9-290 since it is no longer stocked. However, they are currently selling a 3xs system with an XFX R9-290 fitted. I asked them to replace it with an R9-390, which was almost identical in specification, and I was willing to pay the price difference. Unfortunately, they ignored my proposal.
As of now, I am still out of pocket for ?234, with no graphics card, and no sight of a full refund or a suitable replacement, all thanks to Scan. I warn everyone to AVOID this company if they can.

Underwhelming Laptop Experience from Scan: Mac Users Beware
So, I was lookin' for a new PC laptop to run some bizz software that I couldn't run on my Mac. Someone told me to check out Scan so I decided to give 'em a go. I gave 'em a call to get some advice and to be honest, the guy on the line was clueless when it came to Macs. I eventually settled on a model from their EXS range, but man oh man, am I disappointed. There's no scrolling feature on the track pad, no lights in the keys, and the texture of the screen surface is just awful. It messes with the pixels and the visuals are really bad. The interface is outdated and just plain ugly, and Windows 8 is a shambles. I should've gone to PC World instead; they gave me better advice and actually understood the market beyond just PCs. Scan just doesn't seem to get it, ya know? They don't seem to know much about alternatives or quality.
Scan Computers Review: Unreliable Company with Poor Customer Service and Refund Policy
Scan Computers is not a reliable company to purchase from. I personally bought a MSI computer for a hefty sum of 3000 bucks, thinking that it would be perfect for my work. However, to my complete dismay, the audio system of the computer was not functioning correctly. It was completely unusable.
Their customer service suggested that I send it for repair, which could take up to ten days. For a computer that was supposed to help me earn my living, this was unacceptable. Finally, after some heated arguments with them, I managed to return the machine for a refund. However, to my surprise, they inspected the device and found a tiny scratch on it and refused to refund my money. This was a total joke.
Additionally, they refused to fix the audio issue themselves, which was their initial suggestion. Not only did I end up with a faulty laptop, but also I had to spend a significant amount of tie and energy just to get the refund. The whole incident was distressing and a waste of time.
I would not recommend dealing with Scan Computers, as they do not have their customer satisfaction as a priority. They even tried to convince me to purchase another device from them despite the urgency of my work and their inability to fix the initial issue. I would advise anyone to stay away from this site to save yourself significant money, time, and sanity.
Scan Computers' Customer Service is a Total Fail!
Hmm, where do I begin? First off, let me tell ya how I hardly ever bother writing ‘bout anythin’, but Scan Computers done me wrong and I just gotta let y’all know. Their customer service is a total fail, y’all. I sent in a motherboard that was under warranty, just like they said, and did everything they told me to do. I even spent extra on insurance for delivery, just to be safe and all. Well, they got it right before Christmas 2020, and let me tell ya, I didn’t hear back for nothing for ages. I called and called again, but they didn’t answer none of my calls, and I sent like 11 emails too. Finally, I got an email from them, and what’d they say? They said that we bent the dang motherboard, and that now our warranty was void. What kind of BS is this, right? We ain’t never bent that thing! We even signed for the delivery and it was all good. I reckon they just made that up to get outta replacing it or something. Right now, I’m trying to get in touch with their customer service people, but it’s like talkin’ to a brick wall, y’all. I’d have better luck getting a call from the Queen herself! My advice? Steer clear of Scan and go find some other computer place with better reviews. ‘Cause let me tell ya, this here is a downright dreadful company, and it’s just gonna cause you a whole mess of trouble. Oh, and one more thing? I tried to give ‘em no stars for a rating, but that dang rating system wouldn’t even let me!

Delay in Order Fulfillment - My Experience with Scan Computers' Next Day Delivery
I recently placed an online order with Scan Computers for a couple of 'in stock' items on Monday 28th December. As I needed the items urgently, I chose the next day delivery option and completed payment. However, since Monday was a bank holiday, I knew there would be a delay in dispatch. On Tuesday, I waited for the dispatched notification, but it never arrived. I got worried and called their customer support team to check if there was an issue with payment. To my surprise, they hadn't confirmed payment yet even though it was already the mid-way point of the day. After I rang them, they put the payment through and reassured me that my order would be dispatched later that day.
However, things didn't go as planned. The items were not dispatched on Wednesday, and the status still remained at 'payment authorised'. The same thing happened on Thursday, and I contacted them again to inquire. The customer service representative apologized and cited that they had been busy since the Christmas break. They promised that the items would be dispatched later, but the same thing happened again on Thursday.
At this point, I was frustrated and needed my items urgently. I cancelled the order since they couldn't guarantee me a Saturday delivery. I ended up buying from Amazon instead and paid a little bit more for the same day delivery.
In my opinion, if you're not in a hurry to receive your items, Scan Computers may be an appropriate online retailer, but if you need them urgently, it's better to look for other options. Their customer support was okay, but I experienced too many delays and frustrations.
Scan Computers' Terrible Customer Service and Property Damage
I had to return my brand new card to Scan computers because I noticed a hairline crack in the thread on the water block. I was really upset about it since it took me a while to save up for it and only saw it drip once. Although I didn't want to send it back, I still did because it was a minor issue that had occurred during shipping. However, after waiting for a while with no update, I had to email them to inquire about the status of my card.
After waiting for 4 whole days, they finally got back to me and said that the card was wet from the pump. I knew this was rubbish because I had checked it before sending it back and there was no sign of any water damage. Moreover, when they finally sent me a picture of the card, it showed a puddle of water sitting on the side of my card. Anyone with a brain would know that gravity would not leave water sitting like that; it would run off. It looks badly staged now, and I have my pictures and videos that show the fault that was not a problem.
As if that was not bad enough, it has now been two months, and they still do not reply to my emails. When they finally do, they say they are chasing it up, but still, nothing happens. Their picture shows a chunk of the water block missing where the crack was in the screw thread. I am really upset about this, and I don't understand why they would damage my property this way. I also have pictures and videos to prove that they removed the water block and damaged it themselves, which means I will have to file a claim.
To make matters worse, I suspect that this might also be a criminal matter since they have damaged my property, which I have worked hard to purchase, and they are not taking any responsibility at all. The first picture is of where DPD left my card, and the second is of the threaded with cracks that I only ever see drip once. Overall, this has been a really unpleasant experience, and I would not recommend Scan computers to anyone.
Disappointed with SCAN Computers: False Advertising and Poor Customer Service
So, I recently went and spent a bunch of money on new computer components from SCAN Computers, amounted to way over ?1000. On the list of stuff I purchased was the new Intel Core i9 10850K CPU, which was pretty sweet. I made my order at the end of September, and at that time Scan was doing this thing with Intel where if you bought certain items, you could get a code for the new Avengers game for free. Cool, right? So, I was all like "heck yeah, let's do this!" and I waited a little while to get my Master Key code from SCAN.
After waiting for a bit to get my code, I decided I better call and ask where it was. They sent me an email back that was basically just all like "sorry buddy, but you can't get a code cause you didn't order during the right time." I was like, "what the heck? I ordered during the right time, according to your own website and Intel's website!" It was a total mess, man.
So, I called them again to let them know they were mistaken and that I should be able to get my code. They even said they'd have a customer manager call me back, but surprise surprise, nobody ever did. Instead, I got another email at the end of their day that was pretty much the same as the first one, only this time they straight up lied to my face and said that I couldn't get a code because of the dates I'd purchased. Which was just not true, at all!
I've been trying to get a hold of them for days now, with no luck. It's super frustrating, cause I spent a fortune on all this stuff and I was really hoping to get that cool Avengers game. But now I don't even know if it's worth trying to make them fix it, cause they clearly don't care about getting things right for their customers. So yeah, overall I'm pretty disappointed with SCAN Computers and I don't think I'll be shopping with them again anytime soon.
Disappointing Holiday Experience with Scan: Delayed Delivery and Poor Customer Service
I made an order for the fabulous Next Level F-GT on the 16th of December, and I was delighted to find that it was available and that my package would be delivered to me between the 17th and the 23rd of December. As it was supposed to be a Christmas present, I was relieved that I would receive it in time for the big day.
However, it has been radio silence from Scan since I placed my order. I figured I would try to reach out to them through their live chat, but the customer service agents there weren't able to give me any updates about my package's delivery status. Eventually, I called their helpline twice, and I was on hold for approximately an hour before I was able to speak to Jake.
To Jake's credit, he was incredibly helpful. He gave me his personal email and direct phone number so that we could keep in touch. Unfortunately, I found out that his direct line doesn't work, and he has not replied to my email.
I'm quite upset at this point. Today, on the 23rd of December, I saw on the Scan website that if I order my item today, it will be delivered on the 29th of December. This certainly doesn't make me feel like I'm about to receive my package anytime soon, as I have already waited for over a week since paying for it.
I am not even able to cancel my order as it's been a tedious struggle getting through to customer service, and I gave up after being on hold for 45 minutes today. If Scan is too busy to fulfill orders, they should stop taking orders to avoid any frustration or disappointment.
It looks like my household won't be having the merriest of Christmases this year. While I understand Covid and holiday delivery issues, I made my purchase based on the product's availability and delivery promises. I could have selected a different vendor, but I chose Scan since they appeared to be a trustworthy company. This experience has taught me a valuable lesson that I will not forget.
On Christmas day, my little boy is going to be really disappointed.
Scan Computers Review: One Star - Poor Customer Service and Complicated Returns
stars or negative stars, otherwise they would have got them.
I recently spent a lot of money on various components from Scan computers for my own gaming PC build. Unfortunately, when I had finished building it, I discovered that one of the fans was not spinning. This was not something that could have been known until the build was complete, but Scan admitted that there was a fault with the product.
However, when I contacted them about this issue, they told me that I would need to strip down the entire PC and send back the tower for them to either repair or replace, leaving me without a computer for an unknown amount of time. I suggested a simpler and more sensible approach - they could send me a replacement tower, allowing me to transfer all of the components to the new tower, and then I could put the defective tower back in the box and return it to them. However, this seemed to be too easy for the company and they were insistent that I follow their own complicated process.
Feeling frustrated by this unhelpful customer service, I decided to take action - I informed my credit card company and requested a chargeback. Even though I would have been willing to buy another tower and return the defective one for a refund, I didn't have confidence that Scan would refund me. This was because of their general lack of care and indifference towards my current situation.
While it's true that Scan has been around for a long time and has sold many computer parts without issue, this particular experience has been a real test of their customer service and they have failed miserably. I give them a rating of just one star because I cannot leave negative stars. I hope that this review will help others who are considering purchasing from Scan to think twice before doing so.
Scan Computers: Dishonest and Disrespectful to Customers - A Warning
I recently decided to purchase some computer parts from Scan Computers, located at scan.co.uk. I placed my order almost two weeks ago, but I'm sorry to say that the parcel still hasn't been dispatched. Every time I attempt to inquire about the status of my package, I am given misleading and false information by the employees of Scan Computers. I have found them to be incredibly disrespectful, and I regret having placed my trust in a company that treats its customers so poorly.
On Monday this week, which was incidentally the 30th of November, I was informed by a Scan Computers employee that my order had been upgraded to "urgent" status. However, even after further assurances from the same employee that my order was a top priority, it has still not been dispatched as of Thursday, the 3rd of December. I feel strongly that this situation is something that needs to be reported to trading standards authorities, and that Scan Computers should be punished for their dishonest behavior.
What's especially frustrating is that this is not the first time I've been given false information by an employee at Scan Computers. Last week, I was told that my order was in the same building and would be delivered within two days. This was last Friday, a full week ago, and clearly that hasn't happened. Again, at the beginning of this week I was told that my order had been flagged as "urgent" and would be dispatched soon. Obviously, this turned out to be untrue, as my parcel has still not been sent.
It seems that the employees at Scan Computers are full of empty promises and worthless information. Even when I requested to speak to a manager about the situation, their response was lacking and didn't provide me with any answers or assurances. I'm inclined to believe that the many positive reviews that Scan Computers has received were written by their own employees or people they've paid to leave positive feedback. In any case, if you search for reviews of this company on other websites, you'll see that they've had predominantly negative reviews for quite some time.
As a final thought, I think it's important to note that my message here is not just a complaint. It's a warning to other potential customers of Scan Computers, and one that I hope will help prevent other people from falling victim to this company's dishonest practices.
Scan.co.uk Review: Great Products, Terrible Customer Support and Return Policy
I've been shopping at scan.co.uk for well over 15 years now and I must say, it has been quite a journey. Although I do want to give credit where credit is due, I must also share my thoughts on some of the issues I have encountered while dealing with this company.
In the three instances where there was a problem, the customer support has been nothing but terrible. I understand that errors can occur and that it's not always easy to please every customer, but this wasn't a one-off. This issue seems to be company-wide, with the policy seemingly being to block and obstruct any post-sales issue that results in a return. It's a real shame that Scan washes their hands of the products they sell the moment they leave the store.
My first experience with them was a decade or so ago when a disk I purchased failed. It wasn't routine to contact the disk manufacturer at the time, and so I waited about four months before they got around to sending out a replacement. It was frustrating, but I was willing to give them a pass since it was a long time ago.
However, my confidence in them waned a few years later when I purchased some blank DVDs that turned out to be faulty. I noticed this during use, and all 25 disks were not working at all. However, they insisted that they only had a 28-day warranty, so they refused to refund me. It was really disappointing.
The third and most recent issue was two weeks ago when I returned a Netgear modem that had a serious firmware issue. Despite updating the firmware, the issue persisted, and I asked for a return. However, they ignored me and continued to do so until I used my 14-day legal right of return, and my right to return a faulty item. Only then did they respond, and even then, it was only after I threatened them with legal action.
I'm sorry to say that Scan is somewhat of a crooked company - they're okay when everything works, but if there's a problem, you're in for trouble. You can't really expect a new item every time either; the modem I received last had already been returned and the box was cut open.
