I contacted Semper Fi Heating and Cooling LLC to come out to my home to do an AC tune-up. The tech, who was nice enough, came out and just did an inspection that took less than 30 minutes. According to the tech, 2 of my capacitors were bad and needed to be replaced. Did he prove to me by showing me on a multimeter that they were bad? No. I'm just supposed to believe they were. His next response was that it would cost me approximately $1,100 dollars to replace both parts. I was thinking to myself how can 2 capacitors cost $1,100? The next day I found both of them online for $7.99 and $32 each. A total of $40! How can someone justify charging a customer $1,100 for 2 parts that can be found online for $40? Luckily I had a warranty that covered the repair. Consumers, please be aware and do your homework. If someone gives you an astronomical quote for a simple repair job, please get a second or third opinion from other AC companies.

Semper Fi helped me and my husband (a veteran and former Marine who is disabled ) get a new AC unit back in May .Our old unit stopped working and our house was in the 90 + degrees. Our credit was less than perfect but when we our credit was rejected by other companies, Semper Fi had a company that gave us credit so we could afford a new AC system. Even though there were a few hiccups, the owner resolved any of the minor issues quickly. The owner, and guys who installed the unit as well as Terry L and Dusty who answer the phones were professional and always pleasant and helpful. We appreciate this company who helps Veterans and grateful we found them.

I recently had an experience with Semper Fi Heating and Cooling LLC, and I must say, it was not a pleasant one. I was in need of some HVAC services, so I decided to reach out to them through their website. However, after providing my contact information, I started receiving unwanted emails from them.
The emails were quite bothersome, as they were frequent and irrelevant to my initial inquiry. It seemed like they were trying to push their services onto me without considering my actual needs. I found this to be quite unprofessional and annoying.
Furthermore, the grammar and spelling in these emails were atrocious. It was clear that they were not paying attention to detail when composing their messages. I understand that mistakes happen, but these errors were too frequent to be overlooked.
In terms of their actual services, I cannot provide an accurate review as I did not proceed with them due to the unwanted email contact. However, based on my experience with their communication, I would not recommend Semper Fi Heating and Cooling LLC.

My attica flooded, water leaked into kids' bedroom ceiling. Work check failed 3rd time. Because of many bad installs, not sure if fixed or will have more issues later.

Semper Fi Heating and Cooling LLC came over to check my A/C unit for a tune-up. The technician mentioned that it was making some noise and suggested running oil through the line to make it quieter. The cost for this service was estimated at around $600. I decided not to go ahead with it and called another person to take a look. Surprisingly, this new technician informed me that there were no lines that required oiling. Instead, he tightened a few nuts that Semper Fi had loosened, causing the noise. He assured me that the unit was in great condition and didn't need any further attention. It's quite disappointing that Semper Fi tried to take advantage of us, especially considering we live in a 55 plus subdivision. Thankfully, their attempt failed. I've made multiple calls and left messages with the person who answers the phone, requesting the owner or service manager to get back to me. Unfortunately, I haven't received any response, even after mentioning that I might contact the ComplaintsBoard.com.

Yeah, it was wired wrong, stopped workin' after three days, apparently didn't know how to use the *** home app, had to ask my 12-year-old daughter for help, didn't even realize that the furnace in the attic was wired wrong, and then had the nerve to suggest I buy a *** Power supply to fix my problem. The other company figured out right away that the thermostat I had wasn't right for what I needed. I reckon that's about it? We didn't even bother addressin' the *** unit suggestion he made 'cause he lost all credibility by askin' a 12-year-old for help. They did the work on June 29, 2022. Cost me $178.40, and I've been askin' for a refund. I got text messages between me and the company too. I even went to the store, but there weren't no management folks around to talk to.

I had a guy from Semper Fi Heating and Cooling come out to check my AC unit. It was old, and I wanted to prevent any issues during the summer. He said it needed to be replaced for better performance and energy savings. I agreed, and they replaced everything three days later. While they were working, I noticed they didn't reconnect the condensation drain properly. They said it wasn't necessary and water could just run down to the ground. Unfortunately, this caused water to fill my ducting, making my house humid and my AC not work properly. It was a frustrating experience, and they didn't fix it as we had agreed. I won't be using their services again.

I had two AC units replaced by Semper Fi Heating and Cooling LLC on Mon, Mar 29. The very next day, on Tues, Mar 30, I called the company because both units were REALLY LOUD, which was surprising for new units. I even sent them a video clip to show the noise. They told me that the units shouldn't sound like that.
On Wed, Mar 31, a representative came and fixed the sound issue on one unit, but unfortunately, they were unable to fix the sound on the other unit. The rep mentioned that it seemed to be a problem with the compressor and assured me that they would replace it since it was a new unit and it shouldn't sound like that.
However, on Thurs, Apr 1, I received a text from the rep saying, "Talked to them getting it all situated." I wasn't quite sure what that meant, but I assumed they were working on resolving the issue.
As time went by and I hadn't heard anything from anyone, I started to get concerned. So, on Mon, Apr 19, I sent a text to the rep expressing my concerns. Unfortunately, I didn't receive any response or reply from the rep.
Feeling frustrated, I decided to call the rep on Wed, Apr 21, and left a message explaining my worries about the lack of follow-up regarding when the unit would be replaced.
Later that day, I finally received a text from the rep apologizing for the delay and saying, "sorry about that, lose track of things...we have to go back and recover refrigerant and vacuum the line set again/recharge...if that doesn't fix, we go to next steps. Office will call and schedule."
However, despite the text, I still haven't received any call from the company as of Sat, Apr 24. I'm still waiting for them to follow up on what they said on Wed, Mar 31.

I called them up right away and sent them pics of the damage. They said they'd fix it, but that was a bunch of baloney. I've been calling them nonstop since June and they never pick up or give me any explanation. They don't even offer to replace the broken unit! It's like they're straight up ignoring me, even after I called them again today and the person on the phone said sorry and promised to tell the boss. But surprise, surprise, I never heard back. This company is a joke. They don't care about their customers and just hope the problem will magically disappear. It's so unprofessional, especially considering the owner is a Marine Veteran. I even offered to write a good review once they fixed everything, but I guess that's too much to ask.

On 6/7, we got two new units (one for upstairs and one for downstairs) from Semper Fi Heating and Cooling LLC. They were supposed to replace the return vents as part of the job, but the technicians said it wasn't necessary, even though it was on the invoice. Just three days after the installation, the upstairs unit stopped blowing cool air. A technician came and blamed it on the solar panels and breakers, but when we had an electrician check, they confirmed that the solar panels were not the issue and were connected to the standard system.
Four days later, the same technician came back and discovered that an internal panel was blocking the airflow because it hadn't been installed properly. Throughout the winter, the upstairs unit couldn't heat properly. On March 14th, another technician found that a hose had been incorrectly placed during installation, preventing the heating element from turning on.
Now, in April 2022, the downstairs unit is also not blowing cool air. We reached out to Semper Fi and asked to speak to a supervisor so that someone could come and inspect both systems thoroughly. We haven't heard back from them yet.

I called the company and they said someone would contact me on June 6, 2022. A technician came and told my husband that the unit was wired wrong, but he fixed it and got it running. However, on June 7, 2022, it stopped working again. I contacted the company and a nice guy came out to try and fix it. He couldn't, but he did bring a portable unit. Finally, on June 9, 2022, he got it running again and said it was the fan motor. It worked until June 12, 2022, but then stopped at 10 pm. I called the company early on June 13 and asked for the owner or a supervisor to call me. I also texted the technician who had been here for 3 days. He said he would contact his manager and get some portable units, but they never showed up. At 4 pm, a girl from the office called to schedule a technician to come out. I got angry and hung up. Around 5 pm, someone from the company called and wanted me to explain what was happening. I did. A technician came after 6 pm and got the unit running again. It worked until around 3 pm on June 14, 2022. I went online and contacted the company, and they assured me a manager would call me. Around 4 pm, a girl from the office called to schedule a warranty technician to come out on June 15, 2022, to check if we got a faulty unit. I asked her what we were supposed to do for the evening since my disabled husband had already left the house due to the heat. She asked, "you don't have any air?" Seriously? Don't they understand that the air-conditioner is not working? This is completely unacceptable. Yes, we got a faulty unit, and we are getting the runaround. It's still under warranty.

Semper Fi Heating and Cooling was contacted by the tenant to do a 29-point HVAC inspection. The tenant was worried that the unit wasn't cooling right even though it was 79 degrees inside. The property owner called Semper Fi to say it was okay to do the inspection. Stuart from Semper Fi came, but he wrongly said the problem was a broken coil and took out the refrigerant that was already there. When the owner was called to approve the repair, the tech couldn't get a response. The tenant paid $17.75 for the service and that was the end of it. The property owner then called ProSkill services to check the problem. ProSkill checked the unit and found that the indoor expansion valve was broken and there was no refrigerant in the unit. They did a leak test, but found no leaks. The tech put new refrigerant in the condenser, changed the filter dryer and OEM expansion valve, and tested it to make sure it was working right. Now the unit is working fine. I talked to Jesse from Semper Fi and told him that Stuart didn't need to take out the refrigerant and asked to be reimbursed for the cost of it. I emailed Jesse the invoice from ProSkill so he could see what they did. Jesse said he would pay me back for the refrigerant that was taken out by ProSkill. Jesse then said that when the expansion valve is broken, it's because the refrigerant is "dirty" and needs to be replaced. This would happen no matter who worked on the unit. I didn't understand because his tech said it was a broken coil, but I trusted Jesse and ended the call. I asked about the industry standard for handling refrigerant during this kind of repair, which is to put the refrigerant back in the condenser after the repair is done.

In Nov 2021, I had Semper Fi Heating and Cooling LLC install 2 new ACs and ducting. Shortly after, I expressed an issue, but they brushed me off and said it was because I didn't have vents up. Then winter came. In June 2022, during routine service, I brought up the issue again and was told to restrict airflow to the vents. On 7/13, a tech addressed the issue and said the thermostat wasn't programmed correctly, so I had to restrict the vents again. On 7/15, a different tech said there was a kink in the ducting and a clogged drain, and I needed to open all vents and not restrict them. They also said 2 rooms needed 2 supplies instead of one. On 7/16, another tech said I needed a new thermostatic expansion valve, which was ordered. On 7/19, the valve arrived, but it didn't fix the issue. The tech also said the problem rooms needed another supply, a jumper duct, and a drop box added to the ducting. On 7/20, two different managers arrived together, but the issue remained unchanged. One said the blower motors weren't programmed correctly, and the other said the 2 rooms needed additional supplies. They programmed the blower motors and said they would contact drywallers to access the attic for the additional supplies. On 7/25, I hadn't heard from the drywallers or managers, so I called to check the schedule. On 7/27, still no call back, so I called again. I've had 7 techs try to address this issue, which is totally unacceptable. I feel like they don't care and are ignoring me. They keep trying to fix the issue, but it's not getting resolved. I spent a lot of money to replace a very old AC, but Semper Fi's brand new system is costing me more in electricity because it runs constantly and doesn't function properly. I'm at the end of my patience and regret ever doing business with Semper Fi Heating and Cooling LLC.

Their serviceman told me I needed my capacitor and contactor replaced and if I didnt do it right away it would most likely cause my compressor to fail. He also recommended that he put on a Hard Start due to my unit being over 5 years old. He told me the total cost would be $1,200. $528 to put in the capacitor, $480 to put in the contactor and apparently the rest of the $1,200 was for the hard start. When I told him I would have to think about it, he quickly lowered the price to $702 and said that if I didnt do it now, he could almost guarantee that my unit would go out the next time I used it. Asked on what I believe now was a scare tactic, I told him to go ahead. I then went on line and found the exact same capacitor for $19.99, the most expensive contractor that would work for my unit cost $42 and the Hard Starts ran between $20-$40. All three parts totaled less than $100 and it took him less than 15 minutes to install all three. The capacitor was nothing more than unplugging the old one and plugging in the new. When I discovered how bad I had been ripped off I called and asked to talk to their manager and for that alone he wanted $540! After I discovered how *** was overcharged I called their office and asked for a manager. The lady I talked to at their office was very apologetic and told me they were quite busy now but she was sure the manager would call me back by the end of the day. When no one called me back, a few days later I wrote a review on their site and with the ComplaintsBoard.com. Within 10 minutes I got a call back from a manager at Semper Fi apologizing for being so late calling back. I discussed the my issues with him. He admitted that his tech should not have made these claims, used that kind of pressure and offered me all my money back. I told him I wanted to be reasonable and that I would be fine with paying for the parts and a reasonable amount for the his techs labor. He agreed to send me back $500 from the money I had already paid them he said they dont usually cut any checks until the first of the month (4/1/23) and asked if that would be okay. I told him that would be fine. He asked me to change my reviews and I told him I would be happy to as soon as I received their check. The first of the month came and went and I received no check or call from them. When I called Semper Fi back I talked to their assistant office manager. She was very nice and apologetic. She said all the managers were in a meeting but she would have one call me back as soon as they were out of the meeting. That was 4 days ago. I find it difficult to believe a company like this would have a good rating with the ComplaintsBoard.com.
Do not use them, they charge ridiculous amount for basic replacements. Capacitor $550. It costs $20 and takes less than 5 min to replace. How can you charge that much? Save your money and go with someone else

Semper-Fi has been super great for us. They installed our new H/VAC in Oct. of 2019. Since then they have inspected our unit twice yearly. This last visit in Feb., he found a part that was getting weak. It was replaced for free. Now I'm on a ridiculously affordable yearly plan. This company is first class, five star quality.
Absolute rip off. Upsale you on the unnessassary unneeded parts at an exorbatant labor markup. I let them look at 2 properties. one with 3 units and one with 1 unit. At the 3 unit property they said i needed a $50 dollar part on each unit and wanted $385 each for parts and labor, i negotiated 3 for the price of 2. Went to the next property 200' away and they said i needed a $20 part and they again wanted $385 for parts and labor. I had enough. Told them to pack up and leave, The cost of the *** check up was $17.75, So i ended up paying $825 for $150 in parts that took them 1 hour to check and install.
I was very impressed with Semper Fi heating and cooling. They installed a new heat pump and took out a 20 year old air conditioner/furnace. There was some problems with the unit being smaller than what was in my modular home. But the company made good and got that fixed and the unit looks nice and runs very quiet. The installers did a great job, They were on time, they vacuumed all of the area where they were working, and the company had the old system removed from my yard immediately. I would highly recommend this company to anyone wanting a new AC or having their AC checked.
