Fraudulent charge
The service was good, the bags got delivered as promised. However, I received an invoice with a hefty fee for exceeding the size allowance which was an absolute lie. The company refused to send me a proof or evidence of that being the case. When I phoned them and questioned it a rather rude representative stated that the bags had been measured twice and he was not allowed to discuss anything. Stay away from this fraudulent company!

I wouldn't recommend SendMyBag to anyone. If I had the chance to do it all over again, I would have gone directly through DHL. I used SendMyBag in December to move six boxes from London to Barcelona. Unfortunately, my box collection was missed two days in a row. This had serious consequences for me, as I had to spend 23 hours in total over three days waiting in my empty apartment for collection. I was going out of my mind with anxiety. These were some of my final days in the city, and I missed a bunch of my plans, including leaving drinks and an award night at work.
The staff consistently assured me that the mistake wouldn't happen again, but it did. Nothing was done to ensure the boxes were collected on the second day. The staff were almost all very rude and insensitive to the distress I was in. The boxes finally got to their destination late, causing me more problems. For all this, I was offered a 15% refund - a joke.
I am sure many people have a good experience with this company, but what I can say is that if anything goes wrong, they are unwilling and unable to guarantee they sort the problem out and compensate for the impact on customers. I had far more help from DHL, who SendMyBag contract to do the pickup. It's better to just pay a bit more and go with a more professional outfit like DHL.
I understand that mistakes happen, but it's how a company handles those mistakes that really matters. SendMyBag failed to handle my situation with any sort of professionalism or empathy. I would not recommend them to anyone looking to move their belongings.

My experience with SendMyBag was absolutely terrible. The website was very confusing and misleading when I was making my purchase. It said that I didn't need to itemize the contents of my parcel for customs, so I only gave a general idea of what was in my box. I listed old books, clothes, and shoes, but when I finished, SendMyBag personnel told me that I needed to provide more detail. I explained that I couldn't, and I asked for a refund. This was only two hours after I made my purchase.
I sent an email asking for a refund and explained that I thought a general description was enough, based on what the website said. The website said that I didn't need to list everything for customs, and it gave examples like "books, baby clothes, and kitchen utensils." But when I called customer service, they refused to give me a refund. I read the language on their site to them and explained that it was inaccurate. I never would have made the purchase if I knew I had to itemize everything. But they still refused to give me a full refund.
I went back and forth with them in emails and on the phone, but they only agreed to give me 85% of my money back. They kept over 30 euros for an order that I had placed only two hours earlier and wasn't scheduled to be delivered for nine days. I would not recommend this company to anyone. I recently used SendMyBag to send two pieces of luggage from Canada to Thailand. At first, I was disappointed because the pick-up guys missed the scheduled pick-up date. I waited for a day, but they didn't show up. However, I was impressed when my luggage was shipped quickly from Canada to Thailand within three days.
But, the nightmare began after the parcel arrived. DHL Express Thailand sent me an email asking me to pay the tax for import duties with a complete list. I called the duty office to ask for more information, and the duty officer told me that my luggage was not in their process yet. Things happened at the DHL warehouse without any officer's attention. So, I realized that my luggage was opened and searched without authorization by any duty officer or myself.
I contacted the SendMyBag team support, and they replied with the following message: "At a time of heightened aviation security worldwide, we wanted to remind you ALL shipments are x-rayed and are subject to security searches." It was clear that my luggage was searched without any safety or security purposes. It was opened and searched for tax purposes, but DHL is unauthorized for this.
I fought with DHL for about a month, explaining to DHL officers. Finally, I decided to complain to DHL head office. Then, the DHL officers processed the shipment with 10% of import tax duties (compared with the tax amount in the first email).
In conclusion, if you want to send your stuff to Thailand, I do not recommend using SendMyBag service. I had a terrible experience with them because they use DHL Express Thailand service. The pick-up guys missed the scheduled pick-up date, and my luggage was opened and searched without authorization. It was a frustrating experience, and I wouldn't want anyone else to go through the same thing.
SendMyBag Review: Unreliable and Unprofessional Service, Left in a Difficult Situation
This service is not reliable or professional. I was left in a very difficult situation and I am extremely disappointed with the level of service provided by SendMyBag.
I booked two suitcases to be sent from the US to Australia. I was told that a 9-hour window was required for collection, so I waited all day on the last day for the collection. At 1:30 pm, I contacted SendMyBag via their online chat service to check if everything was okay with the collection. I was told in writing that the DHL courier was dispatched and scheduled for my collection.
During this online chat with SendMyBag, I expressed my concern over the courier potentially not turning up as I was flying out at 8 am the following morning and had no one to leave bags with. The online chat person said to wait as they are scheduled to arrive.
At 4:30 pm, I again contacted SendMyBag via their online chat service. I was told this time that "the DHL courier had scanned & collected my bags at 1:17 pm". However, my bags were not collected, no one came to the door, and I was in touch with SendMyBag after the alleged collection time only to be informed my collection was still scheduled and on track.
At 4:30 pm when I was told my bags were collected by DHL, but they were not, I was offered the following solutions by SendMyBag: "now it's too late in the day to get another courier to collect, so another 9 HOUR wait for another possible collection the next day (18 hours in total waiting with no actual guarantee of a pick up) or I could drive 100 MILES to drop my bags myself to a collection point". This is not a joke, they actually said this to me. It's in the transcript.
So after spending the last day here for 9 hours waiting for someone to collect, whilst checking all day with them if it will happen this us what I'm left with:
2 heavy suitcases of which I now have to fly with and pay excess baggage for IN ADDITION to the cost for using Send my Bag. I offered them a solution because they could not help me AT ALL, even though I was in touch with them all day. This solution will cost me hundreds of dollars in excess baggage.
They have not offered to pay for this. They have not offered to reduce the fee. They have not offered a guaranteed reduction I the collection time window even though their 3rd party was dishonest, unreliable and their own online help chat did not do their job.
I cannot take these bags to my following destination as it's very remote and luggage is limited. I should have used a more reliable courier service that does not outsource their work to dishonest 3rd parties. The only person left to manage the problem is me, the client. They offered impossible solutions to a problem that was wholly theirs to own.
For the amount of paperwork, online chats, phone calls, being on hold for a very long time, calling back, adding the bags to my next flight leg, asking the next hotel to give them the bags, etc, this is not a service, it's an impairment. Awful experience. Proceed with caution.

I have had two experiences with SendMyBag and unfortunately, my most recent one was quite unpleasant. While I initially used their services two years ago with no issue, I found myself struggling with the service during my last experience. My frustration continued when I paid to have the labels couried to me, but they were dropped off 12 kilometers from my location because no one was home. This resulted in me having to make two trips to retrieve my labels because the location was closed on Mondays.

I was quoted at Euro 150 for the weight, but somehow ended up being charged over Euro 200 with no explanation given. It is disheartening to say that this is indeed a scam business as one is likely to end up paying more than they should. Honestly, it is quite a hassle, and simply not worth it. In my opinion, it is easier, more convenient and even cheaper to just check in the luggage in the first place.

I had scheduled a pick-up of my belongings through DHL Netherlands and was home all day waiting for the truck to arrive. Unfortunately, the truck never showed up, despite me waiting all day for it.
I decided to call Send My Bag at 3:00 pm to ask about the whereabouts of the truck. The customer service representative informed me that the truck was on its way and would be arriving soon. However, later at 5:00 pm, when I again called to ask about the truck, I was informed that the truck had already been here earlier in the day at 12:50 pm when I was at home and no one rang the bell.
When I explained my situation to Send My Bag, telling them that I was leaving the country the next day and had already made travel arrangements, booked hotels and other travel reservations, they assured me that they would put in a request for DHL to collect my belongings in the evening. I waited for two more hours but was then informed that the request had been denied, leaving me and my family in a predicament.
Due to this delay and lack of communication, we had to rebook all of our travel plans, take new tests, and spend another day waiting from morning until night for a new truck that may or may not show up. This resulted in a lot of unnecessary stress and inconvenience to us.
In conclusion, I would highly advise everyone to think twice before placing any confidence in this company when it comes to the safety and timely delivery of their personal belongings. The experience I had with SendMyBag shows how awful their service is and how little they care about their customers.

I have been using SendMyBag (sendmybag.com) for years to send a holdall to my house in Portugal and it has been a smooth and hassle-free experience every time. Their prices are very reasonable compared to the cost of checking in baggage on flights, and the door to door service is very convenient. I am so satisfied with their service that I would give it 10 stars out of 6, if possible.
However, since Brexit, which is obviously not their fault, I have noticed that their service has become almost useless for European journeys. This is because there are now restrictions on the types of containers that can be used, which was not communicated clearly at the beginning of the booking process. It was only when I reached the end of the booking form that I discovered I could only use a box or a suitcase. This raises several issues that could have been avoided if the restrictions had been communicated clearly from the start.
For instance, how can I know what size of box or suitcase I will need until I start packing? And what do I do with an empty suitcase when I want it shipped back to the UK? These are issues that could have been addressed if this major change to the service had been communicated from the start.
Having said that, I must emphasize that if you are shipping stuff within the UK, SendMyBag's excellent service has not changed. It is only for European journeys that the restrictions apply.
Overall, I have been very satisfied with SendMyBag's service over the years, and I hope they will take steps to address the issues I have raised, especially in light of Brexit.

Recently, I needed to send a bag from Scotland to Spain and decided to use SendMyBag. Initially, I received an estimated delivery date of about two weeks out after submitting my order. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I tracked the bag after pick-up and found that it had made it to Alicante, Spain in just three days and cleared customs.
Unfortunately, I was hit with a ?29 Euros customs tax on a bag of used personal clothing due to Brexit. The next morning, on July 7th, I expected to receive the bag as it had scanned as departed from Alicante, which is the nearest DHL distribution center. However, the bag did not arrive. The bag was scanned again as delivery arranged on July 8th, but it was not scheduled for delivery until July 13th, a week after arriving in Alicante and the original estimated delivery date from SendMyBag.
It turns out that SendMyBag pads the carriers' estimated delivery by a week to cover their backs for any delays in customs or shipping. The problem is that they use their estimated delivery date as the requested delivery date for DHL, leading to confusion and delayed deliveries. After calling DHL in Alicante, they informed me that they only scan the bag every morning to verify its location so that they do not lose it.
Furthermore, I discovered that shipping it directly through DHL would have been less expensive and would have been delivered as soon as possible, without being held for the padded bogus date that SendMyBag gave to DHL. DHL's customer support was excellent, but SendMyBag just argued with me about who set the delivery date request. As a result, I was left without my clothes for nearly a week and would have had to wait another week if DHL had not rescheduled the delivery.
Overall, my experience with SendMyBag was disappointing. I did not pick a delivery date, and I wanted my bag as soon as possible. Yet, the date was sent by SendMyBag, which unfortunately covered themselves on the worst-case delivery so they could claim it was delivered on time, even though it was going to sit in a DHL distribution center for a week. In my opinion, this is unacceptable and pathetic.

I want to share my frustrating experience with Sendmybag. I sent bags from the UK to the USA and even insured my luggage for £1,500 as a precaution. What followed was a 4-month ordeal where they kept insisting that my luggage was held up at customs. However, it turned out that they had actually lost it.

My luggages got returned from Sweden. I was delivering them from the UK to Skellefteau. Due to my reciever who claims did not get any phone call they got returned to the UK. But in the app it showed it reached Skellefteau. But the truth is when I tracked on Fedex it did not pass the security of Sweden. Now when it got returned to the UK. They were at the airport. Send my bag chrged me extra fees to release my luggages. But the truth is they did not provide Fedex with any return address. When I wrote to Fedex they said my case is closed. It did not even go to my previous address. The caller assured me they will give a new address. I want my luggages back. and this is injustice. I am attaching the emails and everything for prrof. Over the call they told me its okay if I pay the fees abit late.

I gotta say, I was pretty disappointed with my experience using SendMyBag. I mean, I get it, shipping stuff internationally can be a bit of a hassle, but this was just ridiculous.

They told me my bag had cleared customs on the 5th, then they said it hadn't on the 7th, then they said it had again on the 7th, and then they said it hadn't on the 8th. I basically had to sit at home for a whole week waiting for my bag to maybe show up one day. And the tracking was just not reliable at all. I wouldn't recommend this service to anyone unless you have absolutely nothing else going on in your life and can sit at home all day waiting for your stuff to arrive.
All in all, I was pretty disappointed with SendMyBag. They really need to get their act together if they want to be a reliable shipping option.

However, later at 5:00 pm, when I again called to ask about the truck, I was informed that the truck had already been here earlier in the day at 12:50 pm when I was at home and no one rang the bell.
When I explained my situation to Send My Bag, telling them that I was leaving the country the next day and had already made travel arrangements, booked hotels and other travel reservations, they assured me that they would put in a request for DHL to collect my belongings in the evening. I waited for two more hours but was then informed that the request had been denied, leaving me and my family in a predicament.
Due to this delay and lack of communication, we had to rebook all of our travel plans, take new tests, and spend another day waiting from morning until night for a new truck that may or may not show up. This resulted in a lot of unnecessary stress and inconvenience to us.
In conclusion, I would highly advise everyone to think twice before placing any confidence in this company when it comes to the safety and timely delivery of their personal belongings. The experience I had with SendMyBag shows how awful their service is and how little they care about their customers.

Send My Bag is refusing to take responsibility for their damage. I shipped following their instructions. They didn’t recommend or require I take photos showing that I wrapped my suitcase before they picked it up. They also don’t require that the item is wrapped. They recommend it to protect “from rain.” My suitcase arrived with a noxious petroleum odor and stains all over the front, back, bottom and sides. Additionally, stains and odor cannot be removed from three expensive items that were packed inside. They had the audacity in an email to claim I can’t prove they are the ones who ruined my stuff. As though I dumped petroleum on my own prized possessions. I don’t have the time for these kinds of hassles. As the paying customer, I shouldn’t have to beg for a company to make good on damage that’s obvious in photos they caused. If consumers have to start documenting every last little thing that is done when they hire a company, we’ll have time for nothing else in life. It’s a no brainer I wouldn’t cause the damage. I’m the one who spent money to have my items arrive at my home. @sendmybag needs to own up for their mistake, instead of blaming the customer and looking for every excuse to get out of it. It’s disgraceful. The whole experience makes me sick.
