drakes drum
Could you please explain why the Drakes Drum close a large part of the lounge on a saturday afternoon for the bowls team when there are other areas in the bar where there is no one sitting, i am not against the bowls team just the management who say they donot care about the regulars.
We and others meet up on a saturday with children for something to eat and drink only to be told you must vacate this end of the room for the bowls team but you cannot take children in the bar and there are no other seats for everyone. Us and a lot of regulars are fed up with this situation and are looking else where to meet up on a saturday. One couple was told half way through their meal they would have to move in 15 minutes when the bowling finished are you supposed to stand up and eat your food when there are no seats available, why not just move the bowls team into the bar then there would be no problems.
mexican meltdown
on 26/10/16 at 7:45pm, I went to court oak sizzling with my family, I rang before to confirm if I could bring kids they said before 9pm, ordered food, no cheese on my Mexican meltdown I had to go back and said to them, he came to check and took it back, when he bought it back to me he said made you fresh one, but it wasn't, as it was too oily and no sound of sizzling vegetables were so burnt and taste horrible, I was hungry, but I waited for the waiter to come back and check, when she came I explain to her, she didn't know what to do, than she called the manager, manager didn't come till further 10 minutes, and said he can make it fresh one, but I said its already been once again in the kitchen, due to short time, I asked if we can have it in take away box, but manager refused, he said they donot do such as take away, I felt so bad, I said its ok, as I didn't want to create an issue, but will never go back again, shame I will miss my Mexican meltdown,
Hygiene standards
The Stone House Pub in Maesglas Newport is a busy local pub with a large local trade for both drinks and meals. The standard of the toilets is totally unacceptable, I myself have experienced better at Festivals around the country ! We have been continually complaining about the standard of both the Ladies, Gents and Disabled toilets for as long as I can remember. This week the gents has been closed all week, we visited the pub last night for a few Friday night drinks and the stench coming in the ladies was sickening and gents toilets was totally swimming in raw sewage and open to the public.
The pub last night was very busy and when we left at approx. 6pm there was only 1 working toilet for the whole pub to use !
This is far and beyond any conditions that animals put up with let alone a public house full of customers, both enjoying a drink and even worse eating. Surely this has to be a massive breach of Health and Safety.
The ladies toilets are constantly in a state of bad repair, filthy, no toilet paper, diluted soap and filthy floors. They are never checked and when the staff are challenged "it's not their responsibility, and not paid to go in them".
As locals we have grown to accept poor standards(wrongly I Know) however for anyone visiting the area and popping in for a quick drink and bite to eat would never return.
I have in the past taken my own toilet paper with me and hand sanitising gel, this really is unacceptable.
Also as well as the poor hygiene the cleaning of the pub leaves a lot to be desired, there may be a chip on the floor one day and it could be there days later ! tables not cleared up and the lack of staff behind the bar is an absolute joke.
I am confident that if we visit later the table we were sat on last night will not have been cleaned and polished ! There are a number of bar stools and chairs that are broken and are just waiting for that larger person to sit on it and will break and cause an injury !
Although we need this pub as it's our local and for many in this area, it should be closed and deep cleaned, and the sewage situation sorted.
I could write more, staff fratanising with the locals, more interested in gossiping in the back office than serving. I would not recommend this pub to anyone visiting the area. This is a very sad state of affairs for a pub that could be a fantastic little local to be proud of !
poor service with rude staff
Yesterday we went to the Southdowns pub, Felpham, Bognor Regis, with our daughter, partner and their little girl whose second birthday it was. She had had a little party earlier and we thought it would be nice to finish off the day with a meal out. We got there about 4.45pm, the couple on the table next to us were already complaining about the long wait, so as we ordered we asked how long the wait for food was, we were told 40/45 minutes which we decided was ok. After 45 minutes we asked the bar staff how much longer it would be and just got told, not long. After another 10 minutes with a hungry toddler, we asked again, saying we couldn't wait much longer, just give the baby her meal and we would have a refund and eat later. They then said that the macaroni cheese we had ordered for her was missing and they couldn't find it and they didn't have any, well we were fuming, why did they not tell us when we ordered. They couldn't even be bothered to apologise and very reluctantly gave us a refund. I asked the manager's name and he said it was Tony (tallish man with grey hair), and I asked for a surname for when I complain to head office, he then wrote down a totally different name, Elwyn Robinson. To say that I am disgusted at the way they treated us is an understatement, to leave a toddler with no food, couldn't they at least have made her a sandwich, is totally disgusting and to not even apologise, have no idea if they were ever going to even start cooking our meals. Will not ever go there again. Brenda Cherrett [protected]@btinternet.com
absolutely ridiculous
Went to The Stonehouse on 01/08/2013 for dinner. As regular customers we know what the service is usually like and we were absolutely disgusted at the way the restaurant was run on this particular visit. When ordering meals, we were told in advance that it would be atleast 45 minutes. This was acceptable as we were told in advance and I think we may have waited less than 45 minutes for our main meals. Upon finishing our meals, went to order desserts and had to wait atleast 20 minutes at the bar to be served due to lack of staff. Then, once desserts were ordered we had to wait another 20 minutes for them to be served. Really not impressed. No management were on site to complain to, and due to the lack of staff, it would have been impossible to complain as she was worked off her feet. Never seen the restaurant so under-staffed.

poor service
Management are slow and obnoxious at the Poacher in Wigan. They treat customers poorly and staff as their slaves. They act as though they own the pub, forgetting it's a chain. Served by manager who paid me no attention and was having a moan with her son. Snatched the money out my hand without saying a word. We will never visit again, which is a shame as my wife really enjoyed her steak.

food
This evening i was with my husband and granddaughter, we all orderd our food and drinks, but noticed the table next to us sent there food back. Our food arrived (Husband and grandaughter) but i did not recieve my food till 5mintues later. When it came i could hear no sizzling at all. Stake was layed in a dry bed of fat and the chips where stone cold. I red the menu and it said 'sizzling stake' but no sizzling at all just like it was dead. I left my table and took it back my self. And had to wait 15mintues just to get it right. it doesnt take that long just to get my food right. I was not happy. The waitress came up to us and appoligised to Me and said 'do you want any nibbles while watiting' i was tasting my grandaughters pudding by this time. I was not happy at all. I didnt even get a free pudding or drink for waiting and not getting good enough food. When the Waitress brang the food it was sizzling and looked more better the food was hottor and the chips where better. this should not be happening when you go out to a meal. I wish we went somewhere else.

My Husband and i went to the Beacon Tree today for lunch. All i can say is total disgrace. My meal was revolting. The tpsey steak pie i ordered had 3 piecesof steak in it, no sign of any "tipsey in it" and the mashed potatoe, well lets say im from a food background and this defo wasnt proper mash it was SMASH or something along those lines. To the eye the meal didnt look at all pleasing either! Very disappointed, we shall not be returning.
messy, dirty surfaces
The bar was sticky and dirty, even the menus were sticky and unhygienic as well as the tables. I ordered food that was delivered within 15 mins but part of the order was missing. When it arrived 15 mins later although I was told it wood be 2 minutes we had finished the meal. Some of the staff are very miserable, not good at all. And lastly the glasses are filthy. It is a great shame as it wasn't always like this and the prices are very good, but the low prices wouldn't make me go back.
In addition to the above, I could find no way of emailing a complaint, no customer service on the web site.

food
My sister, friend and i went to the Robin's Nest pub on the gilmerton road on tuesday 25th October. We ordered 3 burgers, one chicken, one cheese and one vegetarian. When we recieved them as soon as the plates were put down we noticed the 'salad'. The only way i can describe it was one lettuce leave cut into tiny bits with a drizzle of salad dressing. We all got the same, we said to the waiter and he laughed! My bun was burnt and by the time i ate one half of my cheeseburger the other half was unedible, very hard. All in all i think the chef should not have served that to a customer. Very dissapointed.

failure to ressolve complaint
i ordered the indian combo which consisted of, tandoori chicken, chicken tikka, rice, onion bahji, somosa, nan bread, shesh kebab, i was unable to hardly any of my meal due to how hot n spicy it was the whole meal was as if chilli powder had been poured all over it, now im not shy to a hot curry however it was totally overpowered and everything tasted the same, i complained to the acting manger Donna to advise i had tasted a piece of everything and the whole meal was inedible and requested a refund or food vouchers she advised me that this wouldn't be possible due to the meal not being prepared on the premises that it just comes in a pack ! the pub boast of its local quality food i believed that it was all made by the kitchen staff however even if its not they still sell the product and should be responsible for them, we were very regular customers to this establishment however after this we will take our business else where, what happened to the customer always being right

The Vesper Gate has no atmosphere no beer mats, tables not cleared away unless the customers do it, and its not very often you see the person in charge it is a place i would not class as a local public house.
when you walk into the bar and the staff are like sheep they disappear when you get there (Leeds)
I THINK THERE'S A CLUE IN THERE SOMEWHERE!
INDIAN COMBO! SPICEY FOOD THEN!
DERRRRRR
family orientated??
Myself and my family were looking forward to going out for a family meal at the local pub/restaurant called The Riftswood on the Comberford Road, Tamworth, Staffordshire. Upon entering the premises we asked for a table for 6 people and a highchair for the baby who is 19 months old, we were told that they had not any highchairs on the premises so could not help. I was extremely upset at the thought of a family orientated restaurant not accommodating for families with babies and toddlers. Also upon the baby needing changing I was most distressed that I had to lay my child on a freezing cold floor as there were no amenities for baby changing which I found disgraceful considering it is advertised as a family restaurant. Our whole experience of this establishment was very disappointing and the fact that we had to have our son on our laps whilst eating off of sizzling plates was dreadful.

poor service
after placing our [protected]@approx 7.40 p.m we waited until approx 8.50 and no food had arrived. no apology was forthcoming and eventually we demanded a full refund and left. there was no sign of the manager who was apparently in the kitchen trying to sort the mayhem out but as far as we could see he was not doing a good job!
the most obvious solution we thought was to stop taking any more orders! after that experience we will not be goingback to the cherry tree in melton mowbray in a hurry which is a shame as it is local to us and we have eaten there on a regular basis for many years

Dealing With Poor Customer Service
All companies are only concerned with their bottom line. All companies have very poor customer service representatives. My advice:
1. First try to settle the matter with the company’s CSR. It will not do any good but you have tried.
2. Be polite but firm.
3. Ask for the name, number and state the CSR you are talking to is from. If you are transferred to a foreign country ask to speak to a CSR in North America.
4. Keep written copies of all your correspondence. Insist that all replies from the company be in writing. Good luck on that one, companies don’t like to leave a paper trail.
5. If you don’t like writing, record the calls, advise the CSR that you are recording the call.
6. If you have an attorney and three-party calling, arrange to have your attorney on the line before you call the company. My attorney advised me that you are not required to inform the CSR or company that another person is monitoring the call .Keep copies of all of the bills you receive. The eventual lawyers, FCC, BBB and state attorney general will want copies of all of your paper work.
7. File a complaint with the FCC about your cell phone carrier, it won't do any good, but it's on record.
8. If it is not a cell phone carrier, file the complaint with the FTC, or whichever of thousands of government agencies that handle your issue.
9. Please realize that all government agencies are overworked and have been paid off by lobbyist.
10. Join any class action lawsuit against the company.
11. File a complaint with your local Better Business Bureau.
12. Contact your state attorney general.
13. During this prolonged economic rough patch all companies are out to make money anyway they can.
14. Join any class action lawsuit against the cell phone carrier. The lawyers will take the bulk of the settlement after years of ligation. When the company finally settles they will pass the cost of the settlement onto their customers, write if off on their taxes or both if they can get away with it.
15. Do this with any company or service you are having problems unresolved problems with that company or service.
16. I realize this is a lot of work, but it’s the only way to get things to change. Don’t expect overnight results, they won’t happen.
I give you this advice at no charge.

poor service
Waited ages for food then was brought to the table by a young arrogant waitress who left us for at least 5 mins before bringing our cutlery and condiments over. i had to ask the bar staff for these twice before getting them.
The portions was really stingy too and was barely warm due to the time we had to wait for cutlery. My daughter had a gammon steak. i have seen thicker bacon rashers was really poor value.

Called to the Marquis arms Fforestfach Swansea on Friday the 13th at 13:45 for a sandwich off the lunch menu only to be told they don’t serve them on weekends even thought the menu states Monday - Friday before 5pm
blue bowl Hanham ordered steak for me and hunters chicken for my husband asked for the steak to be cooked medium to well done. steak arrived I tried to cut it but it was so tough I couldn't also was running in blood took it back and another customer was complaining about the same thing. They said they would change it and the second steak was better but still not cooked how I wanted it and by the time I got it my husband had finished his meal so I sat and ate it on my own. My husbands hunters chicken was very dry when we were leaving we spoke to the guy there and all he said was I will have a word with the chef AGAIN so obviously its been a problem for a while. There was no offer of a complimentary drink pudding not even an apology we used to go there a lot but will not be going back as we don't go out for a meal to eat separatly
Had a meal at the White Horse, Darlington. My wife ordered the Burnt End Chilli- it was only £5.49 so didn't expect a big portion but to say it was small would be an insult. There was hardly two spoonfulls of Chilli - when we paid the bill we advised that we didn't want to pay for it but was told that as it was eaten we couldn't have a refund. My wife had hardly touched the rice and nachos as there was no chilli to be had with it and returned a 3/4 plate of food. Service was poor and the staff weren't that interested. Won't be going back there again.
Once again The Riftswood, Comberford Road, Tamworth, Staffs as only the Christmas beer and John Smiths on. No Pedigree, No Doombar. This is not a first this is a regular occurrence. Excuses are we have to clean the lines between barrels. This could be the reason the beer never keeps an head. Or the glass washing I don't know. I've had food in the pub as well and that's not the best either. I don't think the young staff know how to keep the beer. I will now look for a new public house to drink in because I'm fed up with this situation. I'm not the only one who feels like this.
the new manager in the Pines in Crookston Glasgow is the worst there has ever been . My friends and I have been locals in the Pines for over 30 years and have seen managers come and go but this Jo takes the biscuit . Half her staff have left within a couple of weeks of her starting . Sometimes you have to wait about 10 minutes before getting served because there is no staff. We were in on Sunday and she barred 4 people and told the rest of us if we didn't like it we could leave. All the people in the bar have been drinking in there for years and there has never been any trouble. They are all looking for somewhere else to drink until she leaves . there will be a big loss on profits because there was at least 30 people in that bar .Her attitude stinks.
we went to acorn in bebington for my birthday we ordered our meal it came 20 mins later the ribs were burnt so i sent it back 25 minutes my new meal came the ribs were nice but the rest of the meal was cold all they done was change the ribs and give me the old food the reason i know this was because i took a bite of chiken and i recieved it back
First of all they didn't have any lemonade to put in a drink. Then at 9.30 they said it would be 20 minutes to get a coffee to re-boot the coffee machine. This is at the Norton at Meadowhead in Sheffield. Service very poor.
My partner and I visited the Stanley Arms (Roby Road, Liverpool) establishment on the 17th May last at 6:15pm to have a bit to eat and a drink.
We have been to the Stanley Arms on a number of occasions, after being recommended by our goods friends who have been dining at this venue for a number of years.
Upon arriving at the establishment at 6:15pm, I proceed to order two pint classes of Coors beer and paid cash.
We located a table and began to choose our food, we chose the following;
Breaded Mushrooms £1.99
Tangy Tomato & Chorizo Chicken Melt £8.49
Piri Piri Lemon Chicken Skewers £6.49
Garlic Bread & Cheese £1.89
Jack Daniels Sauce £1.25
Total £20.11
I was told the total cost was £29.39 (Debit Card Receipt Obtained). I proceed to authorised the payment, at 18:17pm. Upon completion of the transaction, I thought the cost was quite high and queried it with the manager.
He went away and then came back and advised that I have been charged for an additional 4 drinks, which I thought was very strange, considering I did not order any drinks?
He proceeded to refund me the sum of £9.28 from the till in cash.
I returned to my table and awaited the food order.
20 minutes later we received the breaded mushrooms.
At 18:50pm I was approached by the manager to advise that our meals would be with us very shortly (couple of minutes), so we waited. At 19:00pm the manager approached again and said he would go and chase the meals?
At 19:12pm a waitress arrived at the table with the Garlic Bread and the Jack Daniels Sauce, at this point I was annoyed with the service we had received, I asked why she had brought them particular food items when we had not received our main meals?
She proceeded to ask “wasn’t you made aware of the delay upon ordering” I advised no I was not and there was no indication whatsoever of any food delays.
At 19:18pm over an hour from point of order, our food arrived!
Upon inspection of the food the following was noted;
Garlic Bread and Cheese
Burnt on edges, cold in middle and very greasy and way too much cheese added.
Piri Piri Lemon Chicken Skewers
The skillet was not hot or sizzling, the chicken was only warm at best and very very dry and the salad that was provided was a disgrace, it looked as if it had been there over a week (pictures obtained).
Tangy Tomato & Chorizo Chicken Melt
This dish arrived with no onions or peppers as advised in the menu description and no Corn on the Cob or Onion Rings were provided and upon my partner tasting the meal, it become apparent that the meal provided was in fact a BBQ smothered chicken (£3.49) and not the £8.49 meal ordered. Further the chips provided were not seasoned chips, just plain average oven chips. (Pictures obtained).
I tried to eat my meal and was not impressed at all and left it. My partner proceed to eat her chicken and found the chicken to be nice but was very disappointed as it was only chicken nothing else, bearing in mind all our other visits have been great.
I left the premises and was approached by the waitress who asked was I ok with the food, to which I replied “No” in fact I advised I was disgusted in the food and the service received, she made the suggestion that I should complain and speak to Richard the manager, to which I replied “I will not be returning again” (I would not complain, as the premises was rather busy with after work drinkers and didn’t feel comfortable).
I went to my car and my partner exited the premises and the same waitress spoke to my partner who advised her that she was not happy with the service and food and that I was livid and was going to make a formal complaint to the head office over the standard of service.
At this point my partner was persuaded to go and see the manager to discuss the matter and was promptly given a scrap piece of paper with the two meal details on and his telephone number (to return for a free meal), no real apology was given and was very unprofessional. I would not return to that particular Sizzler pub even if the meals were free!
I am writing regarding my visit to the Nine Giants pub, in Cardiff, on the 17/02/2013. I would like to firstly mention that the location and building were very accommodating and hospitable. I would also like to set the scene that my visit entailed very poorly cooked food and extremely poor customer relations. I am currently a final year Journalist student at Cardiff University, and have taken it upon myself to speak with our editorial manager this evening to see when would be the soonest I could publish an official review on the service offered at this pub. However I was advised to make official contact with you to see what you opinions and resolution could be. So to unravel our experience I shall bullet point my issues below:
• Our most major issue was when we were seated by the kitchen entrance, our 5 year old in toe, listening to foul language being bellowed throughout the kitchen.
• To say the food was overcooked would be an understatement. The burgers were black and tough, the pie casing was solid and the steak was a very well done, tough, lump of meat, however was requested as a medium steak.
• The gentleman who was serving us at the bar, midway through serving our drinks, walked off and left me stood there for a few minutes. Upon going to find him, he was stood watching the football highlights and stated ‘I will sort it when this is finished’, leaving me no option but to go sit down and return 5minutes later to collect the rest of the drinks.
• Upon raising these issues with the manager, she became very defensive and abrupt, highlighting that she has never heard swearing in the kitchen and that I was incorrect in what I heard. She looked at my burger and agreed it looked dry and overcooked and issued a part refund for just the burger. However het attitude and manner was far from understanding and apologetic, and was in fact very rude and hostile. After that we were left feeling in a very hostile surrounding whenever the staff members walked past us staring. In turn leading us to leave our son dessert (which had yet to be served) and the rest of our drinks and food and walking out.
These points were the most important to us; however I do feel the pub lacks any guidance from above, as it certainly does not resemble anything you see advertised on television. I shall leave this with you and hope I hear back, before the end of next week (22/02/2013), with some form of acknowledgment.
