Sky Sports Premier League Football

The camera work needs to be improved for the Premier League. The cameras are placed far away from the action which makes for a difficult viewing. Honestly it's been going around since 2016 yet nothing has been done regarding it. The earlier cameras were so perfect during the BPL days. In trying to copy FIFA things, the coverage has deteriorated. Please zoom in more on the action. Humble Request.

Desired outcome: More zoomed camera work in the Premier League

Sky Sports Sky sports rugby league commentary team

Dear Sir/Madam

I am writing to complain about the disgraceful standard of rugby league commentary/commentators in recent years, in particular Bill Arthur as a lead commentator and also Ben Proe. Both frequently announce the name of the players incorrectly stating the complete wrong players name. Alongside frequently making mistakes on air regarding the rules of the sport, there is absolutely no enthusiasm in this commentary team regarding the matches they are commentating on and it really is having a negative impact on the game. I am not alone in saying that they have brought the game into disrepute by making it mind numbingly boring to listen to. As a passionate supporter of rugby league, along with many others I have spoken to believe that their roles as lead commentators should be seriously reviewed.

Many Thanks

Mike Whitton

I thoroughly agree with you Mike on the above, but worse than that, trying to watch Super League is nigh impossible as there are so many needless replays during the games. They rarely let a move finish before that stupid s for super league flashes on the screen and then about ten seconds later the same again. They need to watch Australian NRL and see that replays are in one corner of the screen and live is on the other, so you can watch both. They also keep showing what games are coming up across the screen while the ball is in play. I keep the sound on very low when games are on over here and in Australia.

Sky Sports Match reporters knowledge of football

Your reporter on the MK Dons v Rochdale game, Abigail Davies has no knowledge of football.
Rochdale scored direct from a free kick from out on the left wing. The keeper stood too close to his far post leaving a tempting hole at the near post. So tempting that the free kick taker curled a floating shot into the gap.
The keeper shd still have saved it but only pushed it in.
She said "it was a superb strike and the keeper had absolutely no chance".
He started a good yard too near his back post and still touched it.
Take a look and see what you think.

Then she described the 2nd goal "it was a superb strike into the centre of the goal" Take a look at that Rochdale 2nd goal and you will see a scuffed shot straight at a defender that only went in cos it hit the defenders knee.
Absolutely rubbish reporting. Ask the keepers manager about the keeper, ask the guy who struck the 2nd goal if he hit a superb strike. No way. I don't mind women reporting and commentating but please get some that can do the job.

If she is going to big up and sugar coat everything you will get switch off.
I have never ever complained cos it is normally pointless. But these comments today really did annoy me so much that i am writing immediately and missing the rest of your sports
Regards
John M

Desired outcome: Check that your reporters know the game

Sky Sports Gary Neville's role and support in the protests

Gary Neville calling for protests and supporting the protests. I pay my subscription to watch football matches not watch protests. Mr Neville also calling on other clubs fans to also protest. His job is to be a football pundit not publicly calling for protests. At what point do sky sports draw the line and deal with Gary Neville. If more protests stop more games then sky will almost certainly lose people's subscription fees.

Desired outcome: Sack Gary Neville

Sky Sports Superleague rugby league coverage

The Rugby Superleague commentators are appalling, so I keep the sound down, but worst of all the endless needless replays of moves when the screen goes off is infuriating and so off putting. Why can't the matches be shown like they do in Australia with the NRL with replays in an inset and the live play in the larger part of the screen. Also, they keep interrupting the games by showing on the screen matches and programmes that will be shown later. They could show these while someone is being treated for an injury or other stoppages in the game. The dire coverage makes it very difficuIt to watch Superleague.

Sky Sports Match commentary Leeds v Man Utd Sun 25th April 2021

Despite apologising for players swearing there was no apology for Jamie Carragher's blasphemous language. His language was far worse and offensive than any players bad language. Disgusting.
Why feel the need to apologise for players when the commentator is using worse language.
If the comments reflected other religions there would be an outcry. Using Jesus's name as a derogatory term is unacceptable.

Desired outcome: Apology and stop doing it.

I agree. I was actually shocked when Jamie Carragher said that, really disgusted that there was no apology and that blasphemous language seems ok to say on live tv.
I am a Christian and Jesus Christ is the main figurehead in my faith and someone I worship & revere.
Disappointed in Carragher and disappointed in Sky Sports

Sky Sports Commentary match tv sky sports

Saturday, 24.4.2001 Match kick off 17.30 London Stadium, main event SKy Sports football, live commentary.

Mr Coleman is only interested in searching commentary on West Ham United. On a count of time and cluster remarks spent on west Ham as against insight on Chelsea or congratulatory appreciation, on my count, time, appreciation, analysis in each category approximately 68% west ham, so ruining the match for me. No counterbalance from anywhere and nauseating one sided.

Please check this. Going back to second half now.

Sky Sports Changes presentation in sky golf

Why do you no longer show the tracking of a golf shot from the tee?
A tracking device makes for much better viewing and interest .
Viewers like to see the initial set up and tee-off, the tracking on the shot enhances the whole experience of watching golf on TV.

Sky Sports Race Coverage Commentary by Matt Chapman

Matt Chapman`s Remarks 7.30 Maiden Stakes(3 y.o.+) Newcastle 13th April 2021.
Dear Sir/Madam, I am a member of a small Racing Club(based in Barnsley South Yorkshire [called Tykes & Terriers Racing Club] who are quite proud to own a Race Horse (in training with Anthony Brittain, [ "Mabdaa"] at Warthill Nr.York N.Yorks). Despite there being nine entries in the race, Mr Gosden`s horse [Cordouan] was the only one mentioned throughout during the "preliminaries" and the race itself by Mr .Chapman.I believed that a "commentator" was exactly that not someone with a biased attitude, with a sickening propensity to lavish praise in one direction and to to dismiss others in the race as "merely having a future in low grade handicaps"? Without ALL Owners/Racing Clubs etc there would be no Racing in the format that thousands of the public at large, support? The obnoxious and flippant remarks uttered by Mr. Chapman demean the Sport as a whole and are downright insulting? We cannot all belong to the "Elitist Few" and my friends and I do not believe it is within Mr Chapman`s remit to make "boorish and insulting" remarks about any Owners horses and their ability? It would be appropriate for Mr Chapman to learn some good manners and issue an apology to all Owners/Trainers involved in the race? Thank you for this opportunity to air our views( Chris Skidmore Tykes & Terriers Racing Club)

Sky Sports Golf coverage at Augusta

I feel the coverage at Augusta was very poor . Too much on interviews, pre amble, practice ground cameras when golf is being played.Cut the crap and show the golf! The focus is on all the same players, instead log allowing viewers to see unknown up and coming golfers. Too much razzmatazz, not enough GOLF action on the course. You seem to have gone overboard on scientific assessment on every hole. Avid golfers are not interested in such scrutiny, simple explanations of the shot or putt in hand are sufficient. Please just show GOLF, which you are good at ! Regards Brian Robinson.

Sky Sports ANA Inspirational Women’s Golf

How can that be ok that Sky push the first women's major event off the schedule to accommodate a third round of a non PGA event with a mediocre field. At 11pm I'm sure most of your viewers would have recorded to watch this morning only to see that due to a delay the PGA event took up most of the coverage which was meant for the ANA. This is so blatantly wrong on all levels when you are meant to be supporting all professional sport - really disappointed in your decision making 😒

Desired outcome: Keep to the schedule

Sky Sports Coverage of ANA CHAMPIONSHIP

Yesterday the coverage of the ANA Championship, the first women's major of the season, was not on til 11 pm, pushed aside for Valero Open
for men, not a major & missing many of the top players, and the women's amateur Championship. I didn't want to start watching at that late time so recorded the programme. Sat down to watch it early this morning to find that the weather delayed Valero Open was still being shown
and a message, as I fast forwarded through this coverage, telling viewers to log in to some you tube channel to watch the ANA. NOT POSSIBLE
WHEN YOU ARE ASLEEP. the coverage of the men's tournament continued for well over 2 of the 3 hour slot for the ANA. I don't even want to check exactly when it changed but I suspect we didn't even get 30mins, including breaks, of the women's golf. If that wasn't bad enough the recording then switched off dead on the 3 hour mark.
Once again those who enjoy watching women's pro golf have been bypassed & downgraded for a men's event. I would bet everything I own
that the 3 round of next week's Masters won't be swapped to another channel for the ordinary weekly pro event for women.
Sky yet again displaying blatant sexism. If I could watch golf via another provider I would, This is a disgraceful message to send out, men's
golf is always more important than women's.
Shame on you.

Sky Sports Golf coverage

Your golf coverage is exceptional and you have an outstanding team. BUT! Although Nick Dougherty is a lovely guy and has become a very good presenter in many ways - my God does he talk! It is incessant. He really needs to let the pictures do the work and give us all a break from his voice. Less is more Nick. It is spoiling my viewing. For God sake give it a rest from time to time Nick and you will become outstanding.

Despite these 2021 reports about Nick Doughty rambling on incessantly, in 2022 he is still doing it, spoiling my viewing until I turn the sound down. He is now copying Andrew Coltart in stressing parts of words completely unnecessarily which is also extremely annoying.

They can both learn from Ewen Murray and Richard Boxall, LESS is more.

I fully agree with this comment, I find Nick Dougherty completely boring with his incessant talking, droning on and on and on, please less talk at the sky cart and more actual coverage of the golf with less commentators, I can see whats happening i don't need someone telling me what I'm looking at, I turn the sound down and watch in peace, save some money on wages and perhaps my sky subscription may be cheaper ? fat chance.

Why have British commentators started calling a half a tie?

Further, why do they keep referring to a "play", when they mean a "shot"?

Sky Sports Man City v Spurs 13th Feb 2021

Typical of Tyler to only mention Paul Warhurst playing at Blackburn where he played 74 games. However, Warhurst also went on to play 100 games for Bolton Wanderers helping them to promotion. What a pity that Sky commentators don't mention great teams of the past such as Bolton when discussing players from the past. After all, Bolton fans are big contributors to the wages bill at Sky.
