I bought a 2002 Ford Explorer from this company. The engine broke down a few weeks later. I told them about it, and they said to contact their mechanic. Whenever I tried calling, they never assisted or answered. Now I have a car that I'm paying for but can't even use.
I bought a car from Smart Buy Car Sales in October
I bought a car from Smart Buy Car Sales in October. On November 3, I got an oil change. Then on January 3, I got another oil change. On February 3, I got a top off. However, on February 25, my motor went out. The shop I took it to said there wasn't any oil in the car. I have talked to someone named *** at Smart Buy Car Sales about 4 times. They told me I cannot get another car. This is unacceptable as I need another car.

Yesterday, I spent $11000 on a vehicle
Yesterday, I spent $11000 on a vehicle. I asked if it had been in an accident, and the salesperson said it wasn't. But guess what? The car had scratches all over it. And when I hit the highway, it shook like crazy! I mean, seriously, it was a terrible experience.
To make matters worse, I traded in my old car, which I had paid $6000 for, and they only gave me $1000 for it. Can you believe that? And when I tried to return the car, they flat out refused! I mean, come on, it had only been 2 hours since I bought it!
So, I decided to do some digging and checked out Carfax. And what do I find? This car has been in not one, not two, but three different accidents! Can you believe the nerve of these people? And to top it all off, the odometer has been tampered with. I mean, seriously, this is just ridiculous.
All of this happened just yesterday. Can you imagine the disappointment and frustration I'm feeling right now? I trusted Smart Buy Car Sales, but they let me down big time. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Stay away, folks. Stay far, far away.
I bought a *** from this company in 4/2022
I bought a *** from this company in 4/2022. The car had an engine/transmission. After a week, there was a loud thumping noise. I contacted them and they said it's normal. The car broke down and a belt popped. My mechanic came and discovered that the stick holding up the hood got stuck. They told me we should have checked the vehicle before buying. We got it repaired, but now it has broken down again. The company won't help.
Smart Buy Car Sales is a place where you can buy cars, but I wouldn't recommend it
Smart Buy Car Sales is a place where you can buy cars, but I wouldn't recommend it. They have some issues with the cars they sell, and people have written reviews about how they delete engine codes from the cars. The bank that gave them money to sell the cars even made them buy one back. They don't want to give you the title for the car, and they made me sign a paper saying I could test drive it, but then they didn't let me. They took the car and kept my down payment. They treat women and others unfairly, especially if they think they can take advantage of them. They advertised the car online for $10,995, but somehow they managed to sneak in a higher price of over $13,000 in the paperwork.
I been askin' this dealer 'bout the carfax report on this car for 4 months
I been askin' this dealer 'bout the carfax report on this car for 4 months. The contract say we 'sposed to get a carfax report. It wasn't 'til we went to sell the car that we learned the car been in an accident. We called the dealership to get the original document, and the dealer say we signed one, but that was a lie. We never signed off on one. Now he back pedalin' on everything. They ain't tell us the car been in an accident. Also, we paid for an O2 sensor 'cause the check engine light on, they 'sposed to fix that and we can't get 'em to do it.
I gave this biz a $1000 down-payment and a trade in on a used car
I gave this biz a $1000 down-payment and a trade in on a used car. Sadly, they couldn't find a bank to process the financing, so I had to take the car back. They didn't let me know until 3 days later. They said I couldn't get my trade in or down-payment back. I had to call the police to get my car back, but they still won't give me my down-payment back. There's nothing in the paperwork that says they won't refund everything if financing falls through. I bought a $100 warranty for the car, and they haven't given that back either.
On 8/21/22, I bought a 2017 Hyundai Elantra from this company
On 8/21/22, I bought a 2017 Hyundai Elantra from this company. When I was drivin' it off the lot, the seat belts on the driver and passenger side were all messed up. I went back to the dealership and they told me to leave it there so they could fix it. I came back and they said it was fixed, but they didn't even replace the seat belts. The back door and the gas opening won't open, which is super annoyin'. The blinker on the right passenger side doesn't work right. The tire maintenance light keeps comin' on and the airbag light won't go off. When I start the car, it drives fine, but when I slow down, the car just cuts off. I gotta turn it off, take the key out, and turn it back on to get it goin' again. They keep sayin' they'll fix it, but they haven't done a dang thing. Somehow it passed the safety inspection, but I don't know how.
I bought a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse from Smart Buy Car Sales on 4/23
I bought a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse from Smart Buy Car Sales on 4/23. They assured me that there were no issues with the car. However, as soon as I drove away from the lot, the engine light turned on. I immediately turned back and they directed me to a nearby location. They claimed it was just a sensor problem and said they fixed it. But a few days later, the engine light came back on.
To get more information, I contacted OnStar and they ran a diagnostic test. The code that came up was p0008, indicating a timing chain issue. OnStar advised me to visit the dealership for further assistance. I called the car lot and spoke to Mike, who instructed me to bring the car back so he could initiate a warranty claim and get it fixed. I dropped off the car on 05/21.
However, on 05/28, I was informed that the mechanic didn't have the time to repair it. He suggested I take it elsewhere and claimed that he had no responsibility in the matter.

I signed a document agreeing to replace the vehicle's catalytic converter within 30 days of buying it, so it could pass inspection before the temporary tags expired. When I brought it in for repairs, he said he ordered the wrong part and said it would arrive in about two weeks. One week later, he called me and falsely accused me of not paying my car payment. During this annoying call, I asked about the car part and he rudely told me he was only calling about payment. It's been over a month now and there hasn't been any effort to fix the problem. I bought a warranty, but it's useless. By the way, in Missouri, it's against the law for a dealer to sell a car that won't pass inspection. They have a little arbitration clause in their contract, but they don't seem to understand that it only applies to honest situations.
I bought a car from Smart Car Buy Sales on December 5
I bought a car from Smart Car Buy Sales on December 5. I got it with 60,390 miles and now it has 72,258 miles. When I bought the car, I asked the dealer many times about any problems or damages, and they told me that I couldn't get their warranty because I'm in the military. They said there were no issues with the car. I also asked them about the last tune-up, oil change, or any other work done on the car, and they didn't know. After 30 days of having the car, I told the dealer that my check engine light came on and asked if they could check it, but they refused unless I paid my car note two months early. When I tried to register the car, it didn't pass inspection. The inspection was done by one of the dealer's side shops, and they only scanned the car's VIN without actually inspecting it. They just gave me an approved inspection without looking at the car. In the past 4 months, I've spent over $1,000 on repairs for this car. Since March , I've contacted the dealer multiple times about my car overheating, not starting, the check engine light flashing, and the major issue of a blown head gasket and motor. I have to use a whole bottle of antifreeze every day to keep the car cool. The dealer keeps ignoring my calls about the issue. I've tried to exchange or trade in the car with this dealer and others, but they rejected it because of the car's condition. I have several documents showing that my car needs over $1,700 in repairs and that a chemical called blue devil was added to my car as a quick fix to hide these problems until the chemical ran out. On April 15, I went to Smart Car Buy and talked to the owner, who later claimed to be their mechanic, which was confusing and misleading. The mechanic/owner refused to look at my car, do an exchange, trade in, or even help me buy a new vehicle for my everyday life and military duty. The dealer called the police to have me and the car removed from the property.
