Sonesta Negative Experience at Sonesta Columbia MD: Financial Issue, Unpleasant Odor, and Non-American Ownership

I recently stayed at the Sonesta located at 8844 Columbia Md. Unfortunately, I had a negative experience with the hotel. After checking out, I noticed that almost $700 was missing from my bank account. This was a major inconvenience and caused a lot of stress for me. I reached out to the hotel to try and resolve the issue, but it was not resolved to my satisfaction.

Aside from the financial issue, I was also disappointed with the overall quality of the hotel. The building had a strong odor that reminded me of a herd of goats. It was very unpleasant and made it difficult to enjoy my stay. Additionally, I was disappointed to learn that the hotel is not American owned. This was not something that was made clear to me when I booked my stay, and it made me feel uncomfortable.

Overall, I would not recommend staying at the Sonesta in Columbia Md. The financial issue I experienced was a major inconvenience, and the unpleasant odor of the building made it difficult to enjoy my stay. Additionally, the fact that the hotel is not American owned was a disappointment.

Sonesta Disappointing Experience at Sonesta Suites: Poor Service, Secondhand Smoke, and Fraudulent Charges

I recently had a less than satisfactory experience at Sonesta Suites. I must say, I was quite disappointed with the service I received during my stay. Firstly, I was charged for two extra nights after I had already checked out. This was quite frustrating as I had to go through the hassle of disputing the charges with my bank. Additionally, I was harassed for taking the complimentary snacks that were provided in my room. I mean, who doesn't love free snacks, right?

Another issue I faced was the secondhand smoke that drifted into my room. Despite bringing this to the attention of the staff, nothing was done to rectify the situation. This was quite concerning as I am a non-smoker and the smoke was affecting my health.

To make matters worse, my bank card was taken and fraudulent charges were made on it. When I tried to challenge these charges, I was met with accusations of lying. This was quite insulting and made me feel like I couldn't trust the staff at Sonesta Suites.

Furthermore, the rooms were not up to par. The appliances were old and outdated, and many people have complained about bed bugs and roaches. This is not something you want to deal with during your stay at a hotel.

Overall, I would not recommend staying at Sonesta Suites. The lack of ethics and trustworthiness of the staff, combined with the dirty rooms and outdated appliances, make for a less than desirable experience. It's not just me, many people all over the internet have the same complaints about this hotel chain. Save yourself the trouble and stay somewhere else.

Sonesta Disappointing Management and Staffing at Sonesta Denver Downtown

I am currently working at Sonesta Denver Downtown and I have to say, since Sonesta took over from the Crowne Plaza (IHG Property), the location has gone downhill. The location has no permanent General Manager and the corporate office keeps sending temporary management team personnel. It's a bit frustrating not having a consistent leader on site. Additionally, there is no Human Resource person on property, but I was informed that she works remotely.

Recently, we lost a caring Front Office Manager and they promoted two people that have no hotel management skills. As someone who has been in the hospitality industry for over 17 years, I have never seen a property run so poorly. Our Executive Housekeeping team is overworked and underfunded, which means our rooms are not always looking their best.

It's difficult to work in an environment like this and I have decided to move on. I hope that Sonesta can make some changes to improve the situation at this location.

Sonesta Unfair Treatment and False Accusations: Our Experience at Sonesta ES

Me and my family stayed at Sonesta ES for a long time, from March 29, 2020 to October 29, 2020. We were happy with the apartment hotel, until we were evicted by the Warwick, R.I. police. The Sonesta staff, Dagma Colon and Keith Taylor, falsely accused us of not wearing masks, being rude to the staff, and not paying. But the truth is that we complained about our upstairs neighbors smoking and throwing cigarette butts on our heads from their 2nd floor balcony. We also have a son who is autistic and cannot wear a mask, but the staff did not honor his medical exemption. Keith and Bill called the Warwick Police to have him thrown out, even though he was always more than 6 feet away from people. Keith also complained about Arizona using the computer for more than 30 minutes, even when no one else wanted to use it.

We are currently in court at Middlesex Superior Court in Ma. with the Sonesta. However, the court refused to put our evidence and pleadings in the docket. It's frustrating because we can prove everything that we say, but the court refuses to allow it. So, we have taken to social media to tell the truth about the Sonesta.

The Sonesta charges $250 for smoking, but they continue to allow guests to smoke. The staff do not understand or care about the needs of guests with autism or medical reasons for not wearing a mask. The hotel practices zero tolerance, which is not fair to guests who have special needs. After 30 days in R.I., a guest is considered permanent and falls under landlord-tenant, which requires 30 days notice to leave. However, Sonesta sent the police and told us we had 2 hours to leave because we reported guests for smoking. They threw us out during the height of the pandemic, which was very stressful for our family.

Beware of deceptive business practices, false advertising, and extra charges on your credit card. The corporate office is located in Ma. and the Middlesex Court is in Ma. We hope that the court will eventually listen to our side of the story and give us justice. Until then, we will continue to share our experience with others.

Sonesta Terrible Customer Service Experience at Sonesta Es Minneapolis St. Paul - Beware of EBONY!

I spent a whole week gathering information and making sure that I was booking the correct room for my needs at the Sonesta Es Minneapolis St. Paul. They sent me multiple confirmation emails outlining the correct room. However, upon arrival, the staff failed to assign me a room, and I was stuck with an unwanted room until the next day. When I finally got the room I chose, it reeked of cigarette smoke, but I just dealt with it since I was here for a funeral, and having to continually move in the snow up flights of stairs each time got old. The smell was gross, but I was here for a funeral, and I just dealt with it since they already screwed up. The phones didn't work in the room, and the downstairs TV was stuck on one channel, but it wasn't the end of the world.

What infuriated me was that after spending six nights and well over $1000, the night before checkout, I called from my personal cell since the phones in the rooms didn't work. I called at 10:03 pm and spoke with a man who politely asked if I could please get a late checkout for the next day (March 21st). He said the latest I could have was 2 pm, and I agreed and thanked him. I also informed him that the room phones were not working, and he thanked me. The next day, housekeeping pounded on my door about 12:45 pm. I politely told them that I got a 2 pm late checkout. They left, and two minutes later, I got a call from some front desk girl named EBONY, who told me that the only late checkout they give is 1 pm. I tried to explain that I called the previous night and was told I could have until 2 pm. She argued with me, insinuated that I was lying, wouldn't listen, and told me we had 15 minutes to get our stuff and leave. I tried to explain, and she hung up. I have phone records and everything. She was one of the most horrible people in customer service I have EVER encountered and basically called me a liar. I had been patient with all the other problems this hotel had given me, but this girl is a terrible representation to any business. After spending well over $1000 to stay at this place for the funeral of my father, that was my lasting impression. I would have many other choice words to say about EBONY, but I have some tact, and as a business owner myself, someone like that would be fired adapt! I am appalled and disgusted to have been treated like I didn't matter at all, especially after all the money I paid, and knowing I was in the right. She is an AWFUL representation of someone to deal with the public! I plan on telling everyone I know about my experience, and especially EBONY. I travel quite a bit and will also write a similar review on YELP and ANY other site! She is awful.

Sonesta Holding 100$ from account for 30 days is ridiculous.

I stayed one night. I pre-paid my room but they held $100 on my card. I checked out and when I called to ask why that money was still on hold, I was told it takes 30 days. WHY? That is unacceptable. It should not take that long. I have another complaint about an amenities charge the staff did not discuss with me yet billed me last minute. They waived the fee but they need to be upfront about automatically charging 12$ a bottle of water 24$ for two even if you do not drink them.

Desired outcome: i want my $100 hold on my account released. It shouldn't be on hold more than 24 hours.
