We originally purchased a king size Orthopedic chiro KG mattress & box springs from American Frieght on April 4, 2009. Within 30 days we had to return the mattress set as the mattress was sinking in and becoming miss shapened in the areas where we slept. On May 5, 2009, we returned the above mattress that was under a 10 year warrenty. When we arrived to return the mattress, they had no problem taking the mattress back and we even upgraded to a Stewart & Hamilton Excelsior pillowtop mattress and box springs. Within 6 months of having this mattress we started having the same trouble. Unable to sleep on this mattress and now with winter over and having nice days to take the mattress back, we returned it today (March 31, 2010), and were told that it would not be returned due to stains on the mattress. Please note: These were very small wear stains, not even close to the size of a dime. We were told that the manufacturer would not take the mattress back because of these stains and voided their warrenty. When we purchased either mattress we were never given the manufacturer warrenty, and were never given this information. Funny thing though, they sold us the mattress with a stain on the side that was caused in shipping and it even states on our receipt that the stain would not void the warrenty. This stain is much bigger than any stain on our mattress! So here we are with a bad mattress that American Freight won't even consider returning and we are now out $584.68. Please do not purchase a mattress from American Frieght, it will be nothing but a pain in your neck, back and wallet! It is worth spending the extra money to go to a reputable mattress dealer!

I only had my queen size (dream sleep) one year it is sinking in the middle I have to sleep across the bed I am not pleased with it. For the price people pay to supposedly to have a nice & good mattress. It not worth the money.

I wish I could post a pic... Carlton (luxury mattress... what a joke) is becoming Mt. St. Helen's when I get up - there is actually a peak ^ - where I "try" to sleep when I get up in the morning - just noticed this recently - have probably slept on it less than a year. As another reviewer said... HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE! Been waking up in the morning - and both my hands are numb... Thats right! NUMB - been told my doc - this is a common problem if you have a mattress that sinks down with your core - and if you are a side sleeper like me - well... This is just criminal... Don't buy one of these unless you are under 22yrs old or so... It might work out - otherwise - I would love to have a bon-fire party with this one. ! Looking for a new mattress now - Can't wait to get some good sleep!

I also purchase a Stewart and Hamilton mattress from American Freight. With in 2 months it started to signs of sinking in the middle. I flip the mattress over hoping that would solve the
problem. Well now after just having the mattress over 4 months the sink hole is even larger. An American Freight employee told me to take a picture of the sink hole using a broom and tape measure but the sink hole is bigger than broom which means it will not show the sink hole on the photo. The employee then say " then the sink hole is not there" as if I don't noticed it everyday as I make my bed. As I read other customers complaints I can contest to the Stewart & Hamilton mattress is a piece of junk. I just wish I would have visit this website before I made my purchase.

I purchased a Stewart and Hamilton Royal Ultra Mattress/box spring and it is very faulty! The mattress is in my guest room. I am ashamed to have anyone sleep that nightmare! With every move you make the bed makes awakening noises. Well, so much for a good night's rest and sleeping in luxury as it promises. Now, I am awaiting the manager to get with his boss that must get with his boss (...and you get the idea!...the run around) Save yourself the headache and DO NOT BUY A MATTRESS FROM AMERICAN FREIGHT!

I purchased a Stewart and Hamilton full size dream sleep mattress and box springs paid $60.00 to have it brought to my home on Oct 16, 2014 on Oct 30, 2014 had to rent a UHaul at $42.00 to take it back the sides where breaking down on it. Got another one because they do not refund and the sides are breaking down again. They tell me to talk picture of it and email it to them. That they will probably give me a different one again. And that I will either have to rent another UHaul to do this or pay for them to do this. My $400.00 purchase has already cost me $120.00 in just getting it. This place is a big rip off.

Having same problems on what was supposed to be a ten year warranty. Now they want to give us $418 to purchase another mattress from them which i will not do. May get a lawyer to make a call to see if that helps. DO NOT BUY FROM AMERICAN FREIGHT. APPARENTLY THERE IS NO WAY TO GET TO "MANUFACTURER" DIRECTLY

I wonder if all the people who are complaining about mattress's are overweight? Millions are sold and nobody ever posts how great they are but when we hear just a few complaints coming from obese people we should stop to reflect perhaps?

If your Mattress is sinking in maybe you should go weigh yourself before you blame the manufacturer.

Really [censored]? One even said they weigh 130 lbs. Maybe you should figure out who hurt your feelings in school so you can get over your bully mentality

Millions are sold ROFLMAO, look at who their main customers are. Prisons, Hotels and Motels, Dormitories http://www.stewartandhamilton.com/who-we-serve/ No wonder these mattresses are crap. Thank you everyone for the heads up. I almost made a big mistake.

I purchased one from American freight also and mines start to sink in the middle only to have them tell me that they sold it to me on a discounted price so I can't get an exchange. They will never get my business or another dime from me again and I will stay away from Stewart and Hamilton brand mattress for good. I will never recommend no one to American freight they have horrible mattresses and business.

I bought mine not even 2 Mo the ago. It's warped. And I only weigh 130lbs so Weight isn't the problem. Now I'm stuck with it, got it at discount price because the store here in Waukesha was closing. Not to mention I did $65 delivery fee and 1 guy brought it tied to the top of his Saturn. So much for a good night's rest.

Oh no! I hope these reviews arn't true! I just bought a Simmons Beauty Rest Queen set from American Freight yesterday the delivery guys brought a Queen box spring and a full mattress! So they went back to the store and I was told the mattress I ordered was out of stock however they would give me an upgrade no extra charge, pillow top I said ok they come back with this mattress! Now I'm afraid I'll have to buy a new one in a couple of months! At least I didn't pay full price! Now I'm sad, wish I would have seen these reviews sooner...but thanks for being honest...I'll update my review one the mattress goes bad...

I hope they sold you a much better brand than a Simmons Beauty Rest. We had two Simmons Beauty Rest Queen Mattresses. The first lasted about 15 years. The second we purchased 15 years ago, are still using and still feels like new. As far as were concerned nothing better than a Simmons Beauty Rest, if they substituted it for another brand I would be weary. We also purchased our two teenagers Stewart & Hamilton Mattresses a year or so ago and now they're going to the dump tomorrow. The sides broke down quickly and it sunk in the middle. In fact, knowing how limited our finances were, my son put a pillow in the hole and slept on top of it several months not wanting to burden us any more than we were.

I bought a 600 stewart and hamilton dr Marvin. And soon as I got it home and sat on it. (Nicely) the box spring broke. After some haggling I finally got them to pick it up and deliver a new one. Now the box springs keeps breaking and the bed is having dips I cannot flip the mattress. It's only been four months! I'm out over 600$ bc I had to pay a guy to move it bc they charge 100$ my apartment burnt down in Feb and it was a few months before I got this mattress it was all I had. I have levoscoliosis compressed disc and spinal deformities. I'm beyond upset. And disappointed.

I purchased this mattress 3 months ago and it is faulty I called the store I purchased it from and they said if I didn't get the warranty then basically I am out of luck. No this is a satisfaction guaranteed it says it on the mattress and box spring and it's only been 3 months the bed feels as of maybe something was sitting on it to long one side is springing down and the other side is perfect I told the salesman I already have a bad back and he referred me to this mattress I hope that Stewart and Hamilton can remedy this situation before it has to be escalated.
