Bad company to deal with. I bought the elm buffet for $1278 and came damage in the box. About three weeks now and no solution. All I am asking for a replacement. Taking their sweet time and putting everything on me that we sign for the package received. How the hell in a world you would know that the merchendise in the package is damage or good unless you open it.
Save your time and hassle and don’t buy from them.

Poor construction site management by Sundial Homes in Burlington Alton village
Hello,
I am a resident of unit townhouse on the Lodi road in Burlington, Ontario.
Currently Sundial homes builder has commenced construction of new houses in the neighbourhood with in this residential area.
Every morning, when we try to leave a house to go to work and kids drop off to school, we have to wait on construction lifts and tractors that are blocking the road. Often times the construction worker are quiet rude and do not move their viachiel to allow access to clear the street so we can get on with the day. The roads are left in massive mud pools and very dusty and kids are starting to develop respiratory problems. The construction worker are careless and often times leave excessive garbage around the construction area. Often times the neighbourhood find the garbage in the backyard as the wind blows them into the residents back yard. I would like Sundial homes to be accountable for what currently being undertaken in residential area specially in Lodi road where there is a high number of young families with kids. I would like immoderate actions to be taken to rectify the aforementioned concerns and follow up to be made to the residents who are currently leaving in this neighbourhood.
My contact number is [protected] if needed to be reached for any further question concern this matter.
Desired outcome: Rectification of aforementioned concerns
new released townhouse burlington
Last saturday on march 2nd 2019, we attended the sundial homes release event. It was a snowy morning and as according to email office timing was start at 11:00 a.M. But when we reached there there were around 60-70 people already and. Keep in mind we reached there by 10:45. And the serving number was 50 already. It means they already started registration at 10:00 or might be even before. Anyway it took an hour and 25 minutes to get in. Yes we were waiting outside in the snow for 1 hour and 25 minutes. Though they already started the registration and we have been misled for the timing. When we got the chance to get in we have been informed that all units are sold out. We just felt so stupid. Another trick that was placed, we were given a $ 10, 000 voucher that were supposed to show on the same day at the time of registration. But after seeing such a big turn out it was declared that the price reflected on the broucher was actually discounted price. And if somebody will get a chance to register after that day $10, 0000 will add up on top of original price. It was a horrible horrible experience. When I read all this reviews that people already shared here I 100% agree with them. We were standing in cold with continuous snow with the temperature below -9 for hours with young kids. Even there were families with very little young kids in strollers. But the management didn't show any humanity and mercy for those kids. They knew already there is no more townhouse to sell then what was the point to keep people waiting? They just want to give the impression that sundial is a chance for people as "now or never"? Apparently our government is failed to keep real state market in control, at least they should train these insensitive profit maker monsters some ethics and morality.
construction of home - bad c/s and don't take ownership of their mistakes
I would like to draw your attention to a serious matter related to health and safety of buyers like to of new home from Sundial. I bought my property in Ajax Mulbury Meadows. Its initial closing date was June 22nd 2017 and on our first PDI visit we found that lot of items were unfished and required more time but builder arrange occupancy certificate from City on June 21st and send it to us to make sure to get the closing on time. We asked to delay closing and it closed on July 21st 2017. I also want to pointed out that builder charged $10k from us for delaying in closing date as penalty which we paid. After getting passion and before that we pointed out that builder was pushing us for closing but not completing his work properly. Still if you visit you will see lot of items require work to complete. Anyway, last weekend I asked my electrician to install range hood chimney in my kitchen. We paid extra amount to builder for this provision as an upgrade. My electrician shocked me by saying that, "are you sure to asked for the chimney provision from the builder", I asked why you asking me then he showed me a small pipe which comes out from the wood duct is only a SHOW PIECE. There was no connection between the ordinary pipe (which should be in concealed position) and the outer portion of pipe at the back of the house. He told me that if he connect this chimney to the available portion of the pipe to exhaust air then it could cause health and safety problems because all exhaust air will spread interior structure of the house and could cause fire because of the presence of oil. He also pointed out that draining pipes are installed in that duct which is not feasible. He decline to finish his job by saying that he cannot put us in any risky situation and we need to call builder to correct this big mistake and it could cause a ticket from the city. I surprised that how city inspector passed this house for occupancy without doing proper inspection.
When I called builder then sent us their service man to repair that duct and it kept us away from using our kitchen for two days. I asked builder to compensate me for the losses and inconvenience caused by them and they handed over incomplete home but they decline. Interesting thing is that they charged $10k amount as penalty for late closing but not ready to compensate for their blunders.
I also asked them that due to your unfinished business my electrician left his job incomplete to enable them to properly complete their job but they decline to complete the installation of range hood chimney. Its mean that I have to pay again to electrician for his visit and to complete remaining work.
Sundial has no sensitivity towards customers and don't see how much inconvenience we are facing from the day one. Please take appropriate steps, they should get some lesson to compensate customers for their blunders. Thank you

esprit
This is the worst builder I've ever dealt with!
they have no respect whatsoever to any of the purchasers who are interested in their homes, Sundial has no compassion to the people who have waited for several nights and days before preview sale opening they do not assist with managing lines of the customers, do not assist with appropriate information to help the customers.
I camped overnight before Esprit opening and I can assure that instead helping people in the wait line, Sundial purposefully misinformed and distructed people to create frenzy.
From all of their actions it is very obvious that they are extremely interested in their profit but not in the comfort of the customers
Moreover their prices at Esprit development are grossly overpriced without reality and market assessment of the nearby developers who are better than Sundial and have prices $200, 000 lower.
If you check the superior developers in the 10km radius they have larger homes larger size lots and homes lower prices better value and better location than sundial's Esprit development
Moreover, when they let people from the line 30 people at the time in today sales office it was a frenzy. Respectful developers have controlled sign up list for presales David couples one after another to discuss the homes respectful builders do not let people outside to create brawls, fights and misunderstanding. Sundial do not have 7day cooling off period and a chance to review their contract with a lawyer did you view only 5 minutes to decide on the spot if you want to buy their overpriced homes and if you will change your mind on the same day - you lose your deposit.
floors
I bought a house from sundail in 2011. Took possession in March of 2012. When my wife and I went for the pdi I said to tely that the master beadroom floors are squeaking really bad. He said they will have them fixed before we take possession.
The first thing I did was check the floors and they did nothing. As per their policy we have to wait one year. We did. They fixed what they said was the problem. My floors still sound awful. Now they are saying that it's our problem and as a courtesy they will call the drywall people to ask them how we can fix in my eyes their problem.
This is the worst builder I have ever dealt with.
I hope people read this before they buy these homes

worst builder in ontario
I purchased a home from Sundial homes in ajax and sent in a form to Ronda for the shingles to be replaced because after 1 month of living there the roof was leaking. (I had a 2nd home inspection done shortly after I moved in and that's how the problem was discovered) I Waited for a reply but of course nothing was done. I called head office & they told me I...

I purchased a home from Sundial homes in Mississauga over 4 years ago. At the time of booking they held $750 as a deposit fo some sort which was to be returned after the construction was complete. It has been more than 4 years and after several letters, faxes and voice mails they have not returned the deposit. It is hard to believe that in this day and age a builder can get away with scamming people away.

I have sundial home in Alton Village Burlington. Since I bought this house, twice a year roof shingles missing and spent quite a bit of money so far. I tried to contact but no response nor return my call. Please think twice buying Sundial home. If you buy, You will be really 100% regretted.
THERE ARE 440 UNITS NE CORNER OF DERRY & 10th LINE, EVERY BODY PAID $750.00 IN 2006, NEARLY 6 YEARS AND PROPERTY ALREADY ASSUMED BY CITY OF MISSISSAUGA, AND STILL THEY DON'T WANT TO REFUND ABOVE MONEY. IN LAST 2 DAYS I SENT EMAIL AND LEFT MESSAGE ON ANSWERING MACHINE, I DIDN'T RECEIVE BOTH. MR. DAN PATEL
poor service!
We bought our home and paid a premium because we were backing on to a future school site. After 4 years, the school board decided not to build the school there. The builder now is planing over 40 homes in this area. We did not receive the premium we paid to have this lot. To add insult to injury, in our new home, one of the rooms floor ventitlation does not work. No air conditioning, no heat. We had this room as a spare and never paid attention til one of the kids decided to move into this room.

I have bought a house from Sundial Homes. It's been 2 months since we took possession and notified the builder about the missing Bell wire in the basement - which was noted at the inspection. The phone companies would only get the wire to the demarcation point - outside of the house. From there it is the builder's responsibility.
I repeatedly called Rhonda - the site coordinator - at their site at Central Park Village in Ajax. A couple of times she called me back and said she is going to have it fixed. The next time I called she said it's been fixed, only for me to drive there (150km round trip) to find that it wasn't. I have left now about 10 voice messages on Rhonda's answering machine and she never returned these calls anymore. I went there 3 times already (150km round trip) to check if anything was done, only to find that nothing was touched. There were also some other things that needed to be fixed at the house and were not.
I am very disappointed!
Sundial has created enough trouble for my daughter that she has been in tears on at least one occassion that I am aware of. This is not a company with a social concience for any after sales support.
Agreed. Sundial was satisfactory to rent from until it came to getting our deposit back. The office staff was unprofessional, rude, and even hung-up on us. Moving up the chain to Diana Creason (owner) did not prove fruitful either. She followed her office staff's suit and was just as painful to deal with. They have very low prices for a reason. Would never recommend renting from or working with them.
I might as well keep this thread going. Unfortunately, I'm currently encountering less-than-stellar service from Sundial.
It's unfortunate that I'm even writing this, and I'm going to reserve judgement until my issue is resolved one way or the other, but the fact that I'm even writing this is disheartening to say the least.
Three years after the initial post and not much has changed from a customer service perspective.
Caveat emptor.
As a home inspector that has done several inspections for the one year warranty in that Ajax development allow me a moment to offer some insight into the problem. A home owner complained that her master suite (over the balcony) was so cold that she could not use the room in winter. Upon furter inspection I discovered that there was no insulation what so ever in those joist spaces! There are several code voilations in this one area alone!
And yes their customer service can be described as non-existant at best. Do not look to Tarion for help as you, the homeowner, must prove the condition exists.
All home owners in this development will receive my company literature within the next 5 days.
My husband will do the mortgage within this couple months to buy the house from Sundial Home at new market. Would you please kindly send the report to us so that we can make a proper decision. I really upset on their reputation.
My email is chan.konnie2@gmail.com
I'm a small builder and a general contractor, I would like to address some of the issues. I well understand that what I have purchased from the Sundial Homes is not a custom built home but a subdivision house. Despite that fact, basic issues should have been addressed. Here are 2 points that everyone should be concerned with:
- sub floor area allows strong cold drifts that cause floors to be cold
- any cantilevered parts of the house are extremely cold in the winter; company rep told me that if they were to spray insulate for me they would have to do it for everyone else
The list of issues is much longer to include floors being off as much as 3-4" in places, mold, etc. And yes their service is poor, very, very poor. It is best described as a profit driven company not concerned with the home owner.
Paul
I understand what you are going through with your new house and the disagreement this represent to you and your family.
I purchased a new home with Coleman homes in Feb 2007. We moved into our new house in July 2007, a couple months after we have moved into the house, my husband and I started noticing defects around the house. I contacted the builder and they sent Charles, the man in charge of fixing houses within the one year warranty. I showed him the list of things he needed to repair and after reviewing the list and walked around the house checking all the items, he said to me that nothing I had in the list was cover by the one year warranty.
Here are a few of the items he refuse to fix assuring me that they were not cover by the one year warranty: the master shower grouts turn yellow and crack within a few months of us moving in, the master shower door was placed to high and because of that, the water was flooding out to the floor, the a/c unit panel in the attic was leaking, nails were coming out the ceiling as well as the kitchen cabinets, one of the garage doors doesn’t open and my back yard fence fall off on one side, because they forgot to put the poll on the corner, and the list goes on. At this time I was 8 months pregnant and I told the builder I was going to take care of everything after having my baby, just for the fact that they were giving me a hard time with it.
After I brought my daughter back home from the hospital, she started having respiratory problems, she was vomiting everything she eat, and my 20 month old daughter had a chest congestion for quite some time, I inspected the entire house inch by inch and to my surprise, I found black mold in the master shower and the tub due to the cracking of the grouts, which moisture was going through and allow mold to grow. The mold was eating through the walls, I this point the walls within is full of mold. I contacted the builder again with regard to the shower and explain to them the health problems that they had cause to my babies; due to poor workmanship in the building of my house. Their response was shocking, Charles assured me that it was not mold and that I was exaggerating, all this over the phone, they have not come to even take a look at it. I started talking to one of my neighbors and she had the same problems I have in the master bathrooms, their some was sick for approximately 9 months, the doctors could not find out what was wrong with him, until she found the black mold all around the master bathroom, they inmetially move their son out their room and he started to get better within days. We were advice by our pediatrician to remove the babies out that room ASAP. Unfortunately, they are still refusing to fix the problem.
I have called the president of Coleman homes for weeks now and there is no answer from their side, I contacted the channel 11 news and there are coming to air our story, I will be the second home owner to air the problems.
Wish you the best of luck and GOD bless you and your family.
hope your husband is doing well.
I am stunt as to why Sundial is still in business? This company is obviously a huge scam and a nightmare, quality and service is of no concern to them. Legal action should be taken against them. My husband builds, designs and remodels homes and his company, although small takes pride in their work, the service they provide and especially the attention to detail. I am proud to say that his company is unique. I am appalled that this Sundial company is still functioning. I truly feel for every individual that has been scammed by this good for nothing company. Its sad how quality and customer service is now of these days at an all time low and its evident where ever you go.
Actually, I'm not surprised that Sundial has NOT replied to your post here, nor the numerous complaints by the other buyers in Alton village on all the other complaint websites. There is a reason Sundial is marked as the third lowest builder in Ontario, and I only wish people like yourself were made aware of this before you bought.
Thankfully we don't live in a Sundial home, or in any area that has been ruined by Sundial workmanship. We received exactly what we paid for, from another builder. So I can tell you that yes, there ARE good builders out there, which makes what happened to you even more deplorable, even more unfair. Why should we spend the same money, and one of us get a nearly-perfect home, while the other end up in your position? We're not living in a third-world country here - there should be regulations to enforce quality of workmanship across the board!
Last weekend we took a drive through Alton Village and were absolutely shocked at the HORRIBLE look of the houses. They were left unfinished! There are nails all over the place, plywood not finished or covered up, and they have the nerve to say those houses have a nice "stucco-like wood trim"? It's absolutely sickening.
These "builders" should be put out of business - and sued by everyone they ever ripped off.
