Taskrabbit.ca is a pretty good website to get your tasks done, but you gotta be careful with the people you hire. There are some froud people out there, and that can be a real issue. So, make sure you verify everything before you hire someone. Other than that, it's a pretty cool site.

I had a problem with putting together some IKEA furniture and decided to try out Taskrabbit.ca since IKEA recommended them. The idea of connecting people who need help with those who can provide it is a good one, but unfortunately, Task Rabbit doesn't seem to be doing a good job of screening their helpers, or "taskers". The first person they sent didn't show up, and the second cancelled at the last minute without any explanation. It's frustrating because it wastes people's time.

Taskrabbit.ca needs to make sure they're connecting people with mature, reliable, and serious helpers who actually want to do the work. It's important to have trustworthy people who will show up and get the job done right. I hope they can improve their screening process so that people can rely on them for help in the future.

I recently used Taskrabbit.ca to hire someone to deliver my IKEA purchases. I thought it would be a quick and easy process, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a bit of a hassle. I hired the tasker before I arrived at IKEA, thinking that he would arrive after I had finished shopping. However, to my surprise, he drove to IKEA immediately and waited outside the entire time I shopped. He charged me for that time, even though I had told him I would be "an hourish".

When I got into the vehicle, the tasker told me that he had forgotten to ask for gas money for travel expenses. Feeling bad, I agreed to pay extra. However, I later found out that he had already charged me for the hour he spent waiting outside IKEA. The drive was only 24 minutes, and the tasker was friendly and personable, so I can't fault him there.

However, I ended up paying a total of $69 for what I thought would be a 30-minute trip. This included an additional $9 service fee and a $9 trust and safety fee. I had thought it was a single 15% fee, not two separate fees. So, in reality, you're paying an additional 30% in fees. That's more than IKEA would have charged to deliver, and it felt like a rip-off.

The tasker showed me the invoice for $54, believing that was the final invoice. So, I was shocked when I received the $69 invoice. An Uber XL would have been cheaper. I had to argue to get a credit because this was more expensive than I ever would have agreed to.

Overall, I won't be using Taskrabbit.ca again. The fees were too high, and the experience was not worth the cost.
