We are writing to express our utmost disappointment and to raise serious concerns about the irresponsible service practices and unprofessional behavior exhibited by your authorized service team at Dada Motors, Mohali, regarding our Land Rover Discovery Sport (October 2019 model).
Our vehicle, which has been regularly serviced exclusively at your authorized center and was in perfect running condition prior to its most recent service, was handed over for its annual service on 6th December 2024 and returned on 7th December 2024 with assurances from your team that everything was in order.
However, that same night, while driving back home, the dashboard displayed a warning: “Engine oil level critically low.”Shortly after, another warning followed: “Restricted Performance.” The vehicle lost power, started making unusual sounds, and caused significant anxiety as we, senior citizens, were stranded late at night.
We immediately informed Dada Motors via WhatsApp and shared screenshots of the warnings with the service team, including their manager, Mr. Anurag. Unfortunately, this has been followed by inaction, misleading explanations, and a complete lack of accountability, which we outline below:
Our Observations as Customers
The critically low engine oil warning immediately after servicing points to one or more serious service lapses:
Improper refilling of engine oil during the service.
Oil leakage caused by faulty sealing or improper assembly post-servicing.
As customers, even we understand that engine oil is vital for lubricating components, reducing friction, and maintaining optimal temperatures. Critically low oil levels likely caused:
Increased friction and heat generation, placing stress on the turbocharger, which ultimately failed.
Potential damage to other vital engine components due to inadequate lubrication.
These failures are directly attributable to negligence during servicing.
Timeline of Events Post-Incident
On 9th December, the vehicle was towed to the workshop.
Despite repeated follow-ups, no response was provided until 11th December, when we were finally informed of a turbo failure.
This delay occurred because the service manager, Mr. Anurag, did not respond to our calls, and the service adviser claimed that he was unavailable.
When we raised concerns that the turbo failure resulted from service negligence, we were told the issue would be “discussed and communicated,” but since then, there has been no update or response from your team.
This irresponsible and unresponsive behavior has caused immense mental stress, harassment, and inconvenience.
Dada Motors’ Responsibility
We hold Dada Motors entirely responsible for the turbo failure and any subsequent damage caused to our vehicle.
Low engine oil levels immediately after servicing point to lapses in refilling, sealing, or inspection processes at the service center.
Failure to diagnose issues during service demonstrates incompetence in the diagnostics process.
Lack of communication and deliberate avoidance of our queries reflects gross unprofessionalism and disregard for customer satisfaction.
Our Expectations
Immediate and no cost to us rectification of the turbo failure, as this is a direct result of negligent servicing.
A thorough diagnostic of all engine components to assess potential damage caused by critically low oil levels, with repairs undertaken at your expense.
A clear, transparent explanation of the root cause of the failure and actions to prevent similar incidents in the future.
A formal acknowledgment of the harassment and inconvenience caused, along with assurances of improved service standards moving forward.
Broader Concerns
We chose the Land Rover Discovery Sport for its quality and reliability and the Tata brand for its commitment to excellence. Unfortunately, this experience has shaken our faith in both. For a premium vehicle with only 32,000 km on the odometer, repeated failures like this—despite regular maintenance—are unacceptable.
This incident has left us stranded late at night, caused undue stress and harassment, and eroded our trust in the brand. We need our vehicle back immediately, repaired to the highest standard, with no further inconvenience.
We urge you to take immediate action to rectify this situation and uphold the values your brand claims to represent.
