I had put together numerous bills that an ex had left me stranded with over eight years ago for a large loan. All of a sudden I receive a letter from this Tate & Kirlin Associates saying my account from one of these bills has been turned over to them! I contacted my bank immediately and recovered the check that was used to pay this bill over eight years ago. I have tried faxing this proof to them for over four flipping weeks now and they keep telling me there is nothing wrong with their fax machine. I have ALSO mailed a copy of this proof three different times and conveniently they haven't received it any of the three times yet. This is absolutely ridiculous! I can't wait until they say that I am delinquent yet because their ### will be mine in court WITH the proof that this account had been settled eight years ago with the company's signature on the check!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
- (Unfortunately) This number calls me regularly. Caller ID displays calling number [[protected]], and "Name Unknown". When I don't answer incoming calls from this number, the call goes to my voice mail box, they never leave a message.
- When I answer with the greeting "Hello" several times, the calling party remains silent then simply hangs up.
- When I attempt to return their call -- It rings repetitively for over 3 minutes, then simply disconnects and goes to a dial tone.
- In researching the number on the Internet I found this site {among others}
- Some of the other 'interesting' tidbits that I've found and would like to share.:

It has been "enlightening" for me researching these A** Holes who are relentless in their pursuit of harassing (apparently from numerous postings) not only my family but countless others.
I say "Harass" in that why would ANYONE repetitively call someone else, and not leave messages in the voice-mail box, or talk when the called party answers; if not for the intended purpose of "harassment'?
I hope that my posted information/data proves useful to others in knowing and understanding who these ruthless "adversaries" are.
Just spoke with Stewart from Tate & Kirlin. Total pain in the duff. I cannot understand the company Tate & Kirlin is calling on behalf of because his accent is so heavy. They are asking for my dob and ss# which I will not give. I cannot even understand this guy! I finally gave him dob, but with 1902 for the year I wAs born...dum-dum apparently didn't catch that would make me 111 years old and continued pressing for my ss#. I had asked for the dept that handles bankruptcies several times, as I was just discharged 2 months ago. He would not transfer me because he needed my ss# first. I finally said look, you said this is a recorded line so this is my bankruptcy case #, date I was discharged, and my attorney name and #. Contact him with any further inquiries. Stewart then starts with "wait, wait, wait, the line is breaking up and I cannot understand you. Please call back in 10-15 minutes". I said Stewart, what company areyoucalling on behalf of? He answered with his mumbo jumbo. I then said "we'll there you go a$$hole. Seems like you can hear me perfectly fine! Call my attorney with any further issues!
They sent me a letter regarding a Capital One card, I have never had a Capital One Account Period!
I got the same letter and I've never had one either! How do I dispute this?
The other day I received a call from Tate & Kirlin Assoc. for a debt-still not sure what debt it is as I wrote it down as schooling debt but they said something else. Anyway, I already paid the debt and I have proof on paying it in which I will send to them. When I told them I paid it, how I paid it and when, they have no record of it. Are you kidding me? If I didn't have record of paying it I would be screwed plus now they want more money then what we already agreed upon-go figure.
My situation is very similar to the original complaint. They are attempting to extort money out of my elderly grandmother. They say she owes some ridiculous amount of money but only has to pay 15% for her debt to be cleared, however if she chooses not to, she may owe the full amount.
I have used two words here very deliberately, extort, and chooses. This is a legal form of extortion, and it is her choice whether or not she pays. My grandmother is under no legal obligation to pay the money however they are trying to threaten her with the promise of unmanageable debt if she doesn't. The fact that they are willing to accept 15% of the 'full amount' should be the biggest hint that they are fully aware that she doesn't really owe them anything, and are therefore hoping to get whatever they can out of her.
As a final note, I do not believe my grandmother ever owed an original debt, she was never contacted by any of the companies listed as creditors prior to this one and I believe that Tate&Kirlin have resorted to some sort of cold-calling type tactic where my grandmother's name matched the name of someone on their file who they might not have had an address for. However I have no proof of this, it is merely my suspicion. What I do no for certain, and what I hope others will get out of this response, is that she is under NO LEGAL OBLIGATION TO PAY. They have said many things to the contrary and have made many threats, but they are all empty threats, they know she doesn't have to pay.
Contact the Consumer Financial Collection Agency (CFPB) they are a Federal Govnt Agency that handles the financial issues such as debt collection. These people are not even rated with the BBB. If they are indeed contacting you outside of the line of the law which debt collectors have to follow report them. I have fax to the CFPB copies of their notices and they are not legit.
Tate and Kirlin associates are con artists and seeds.they must be stopped.they sent me a letter from a defunct company called Terry loan holdings. Terry loan holdings filed bankruptcy in 2008 they are no longer in business. I do not even have a student loan.this is malicious debt collection at its worst. I hope they all burn in hell.
Mail a cease and desist via signed delivery so you have proof. Also of you request the proof of debt they will not have it and cannot legally collect. You can go to the credit bureaus and provide the information and it will be removed if they even reported.
This is a 3rd party collection agency. They bought the debt from another company for a fraction of what was owed in the attempt to collect and make a profit. The important part to remember is that legally, you no longer owe them money. They don't care if it's been resolved, etc. because they don't make money on that.
ADT Scam or Not. You be the Judge. My husband (veteran) and cosigner on the above mentioned ADT contract, passed away on October 6, 2014. Due to extenuating circumstances, I needed to sell my home in Florida. On October 15, 2014, I called ADT to disconnect the alarm equipment. I moved out on October 22, 2014 and moved in with my son and his family in their home in Plano, Texas. They are long time ADT customers. My home sold on November 7, 2014.
On November 17, 2014 I called ADT again to confirm that the equipment had been disconnected. Their agent confirmed that it was, but stated that just because the equipment had been disconnected, did not also mean that the service contract had been cancelled. So, I asked to have it cancelled. She said I needed to give 30 days’ notice, so I would still need to pay for December and that December would be my last bill. She also stated that because I was breaching the contract, I would be charged $1095.17.
I do not believe that the above stated situation would constitute a breach of contract. The ADT contract states that I must own the premises where the equipment is installed and serviced. I no longer own the premises. This is a contract for service and I no longer own a premises for ADT to service.
In addition, you have raised my initial rate of $55.99 per month twice now. Once during the first year it was raised to $59.35 and finally to $60.43. I never agreed to these increases.
Therefore, I RESPECTFULLY DISPUTE THE VALIDITY OF THIS ALLEGED DEBT. My final payment (Check #1259) was processed by ADT on December 31, 2014.
I'm now being aggressively pursued by this collections firm. What's your VERDICT?
There website www.paytka.com asks for credit card information without using HTTPS:// (security). This is a sign of either a scam or an incredibly stupid company. All your CC and personal data is sent without encryption.
If anyone has received a collection letter fro Tate for an old debt, please feel free to fax it to me at [protected]. I am an attorney and would be interested in determining if Tate has violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
A false claim arrived from them in the mail today. They claim I owe Chase over $19k, but I have never had any outstanding debt with that bank. In fact, I have no outstanding debt with any bank or other creditor. I double checked my credit report to make sure something incorrect hasn't been reported under my name, but the credit bureau reports are all still accurate and none show the debt that Tate & Kirlin claims I owe.
Seems this company just makes up debt, maybe hoping unsuspecting people will pay the offer they make (mine was I only have to pay 30% of the fictitious $19k debt) without digging deeper.
The people behind this scam should be imprisoned for fraud.
Also, the troll posters saying anyone pointing out this companies scam is just a dead beat who needs to pay their debts - well, they're probably a part of that company. Use your brain people. Don't fall for the obvious bull that group of people try to shovel on you. Give them the finger, then report them for fraud.
Just bought a house in Wagoner, Ok. Since getting my new phone # Tate & Kirlin has been calling me looking for someone name JD Summers or some such name at my phone number. As usual Windstream Phone Co. didn't hold this number long enough to clear problems. Now I've got them.
Have answered phone several times and told people calling and called the [protected] back and told more people that there is no one by the name their calling at this number and I've only had # 3 weeks now, please remove my phone #. Still getting calls and now going to call the Do Not Call Registry and make a formal complaint about this company.
I just received a letter from T&K stating that i owed a charged off debt that was recently taken off of my credit report, this has been well over 7 years since I have made a payment. Which do they go by? also Has anyone else actually had T&K report on their credit report?

I just missed a call from these fools. They didn't leave a message, so I called the number back. Upon hearing this "Tate and Kirlin" debt crap, I immediately ended the call (with good reason, I'll explain in a sec) and started investigating. I quickly found this site and have read all of these horror stories.
I ignored them was because I was already sure it was a scam. I'm only 18, and still live with my parents. I have never had a bank account, or have signed up for payment plans of any kind. I have only paid for things in full via cash or debit card. No credit cards, no LOANs, no nothing. They had absolutely no reason to call. I'm more than sure that they just got my name and number from the company I was recently hired at, and thought I'd be their next victim.
Crap like this happened to me before. Some other ### I don't remember the name of called me when I was 16 saying I had incurred some debt or another. Not knowing any better, I went ahead and talked to them. After this stupid mess of a story, I then told them my age and asked how it was possible for me to have a debt from 2 years ago as I would have been a 14 year old then. She VERY quickly got quiet and started grasping for straws trying to not sound completely stupid(surprise, she failed). She settled on finding an excuse to hang up. They never called back after that.
So take it from someone from whom it's LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE to have an unpaid debt of some sort. This "company" is nothing more than a scam. If they were even remotely reputable, they would not be calling me at all.
My husband received a letter from T & K about owing for 2 subscriptions which he didn't order on-line. He had ordered something else and in the very small print, the subscription was set up. Immediately we called the creditor and canceled the subscription and requested a Notice to Return. They emailed me the requests the same day. I sent the items back to them 7 days later unopened. We went to our bank who researched everything including talking to the merchant's bank, who agreed there was an error and the money was credited backed to his account in June of last year. My husband has A+ credit, house is paid off and vehicles are paid for so there is no reason for this to be sent to him.
So to let you know, I save every email, every bit of paperwork, write down dates, names and and time I spend talking with somebody about anything that I return or have questions about. Yes, I have all the paperwork and I always send my packages out through the same office so they are going to track it. I will be sending the paperwork by certified or registered mail so i can see who signs for it. Earlier, there is someone who listed things to ask them for and I have added those requests to the letter. We will see what happens. We also do not answer an unknown number on our phones. Too many scams out there.
