Collection account on my credit reports. This debt is not mine, I have no knowledge of this debt
This is now a collection account on my credit reports that I have disputed, I have no knowledge of this account and asked for debt validation and verification letter and proof of identity (that this alleged debt belongs to me) no proof has been sent. Therefore this alleged debt, does not exsits. This needs to be removed. I signed up in feb for the fresh start credit in feb 22 and I paid it off in 6 months they were supposed to report it to all 3 credit bureaus to build up my credit instead they put it in as a closed account which brought down my score instead then opened up in account without my knowledge for a fetti account and that put my score down again as a new opened account and I asked them to cancel it. They refused. This has happened to over 1000 different people also
Desired outcome: This alleged debt to be removed from all 3 bureaus. Or to submit proof of identity Of who this debt belongs to ( social security number ect) Letter confirming Identity of person who allegedly owes said debt
attempts to collect debt not owed regarding old/closed dte energy account
NRA ID: 8221746
Creditor: DTE Energy
Acct: [protected]
Date: 5/21/13
Amount: $98.80
Confirmed by DTE, there is NO amount owing on this closed account. DTE also states that they do NOT contract with National Recovery Agency for collection matters. NRA does not note this account and/or investigate the claims of false collection/amount due but instead continues to try and collect on this amount. We would like this matter to be investigated and closed and to cease with the collection attempts.
Issue resolved... out of shear frustration, I just paid the amount to get them out of my life. I know I shouldn't have, because the amount was NOT owed, but because of internal DTE issues with switching databases it was just quicker/easier/cheap enough to make this go away than to spend time digging up old bills/payments from FIVE YEARS AGO that they are just now trying to collect on. What a racket!
trying to collect on a debt that doesn't exist
I received a collection letter last week and called them right away to see who I supposed owed money to for $98.98. I was told that it was The Danbury Mint so when I got done finding out what it was for (something called "
The Garden of Hope") back in May 2017, I contacted Danbury about the issue. I was contacted back and told they didn't have anything by that name and that I owed them nothing.
I then proceeded to email the Bradford Exchange and was told about the same thing. I didn't owe them any money.
When I called National Recovery Agency and tried to tell them what I found out, I was hung up on. I then emailed them and told them if my credit was hurt in any way they would be hearing from our family attorney. I hope this will end it all for good,

aspen dental
I had a an account through Aspen Dental that I ended up paying off and some weird reason it went to collections it's been paid off for a year now and my credit karma report said that you guys are digging me September and October of this year when I've already paid off the bill and you guys should not be affecting my credit score at all anymore

debt collection
This company harassed my elderly mother for money that was a false debt from 2015 until August 2016. Today they called again about the same false debt which had been resolved between the company that sent my 90 year old mother an unordered and unsolicited coin.
I had contacted the company that sent the coin and resolved the issue by sending the coin back, which according to the Federal Trade Commission, Postmaster General's office and FBI did not need to be returned and could be considered as a gift as it was sent unsolicited. However the NRA sent bills every few weeks demanding payment for the coin.
Today the NRA called again wanting payment for the coin. They don't know when to stop.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.

I was hurt severely by a dentist and couldnt get a lawsuit due to the fact that I couldnt get a dentist to go against another dentist. I have lost most of my teeth on one side and have a hole the size of a 50cent piece on roof of mouth that goes up into sinus cavity. I have filed bankruptcy and these # still call me dozens of times a day. I am in constant pain and usally dont feel well. They are upsetting me and making me absolutely crazy. I hate what nra is doing to me I hate you ####

collection due
I went to the dentist back in 2013 at aspen dental (greenwood sc), and paid my dues also had insurance thru my work Urban Outfitters, I went on my credit report this yr 2016 (credit karma) and it says I owe Aspen dental 222.00 and on my credit report it states from 2015, I called aspen dental to verify this information and when I talked to them, Aspen Dental did not understand why I still owed them, so they closed my account as a write off and made a dispute with NRA and when I did my dispute they completed it and I went to check my credit karma, and it was still "open" so I called NRA and spoke with 1 person and he couldn't tell me why I owed them and said he will send a letter to my address with the amount, so I called back and 2 different people hung up on me.
constant phone calls
Please support the NRA! The continuous “harassment” calls are Spam. Spammers identify themselves as “NRA” and they have no affiliation whatsoever. These spammer’s intent is to get you so upset that you will not renew your membership or give them contributions. Their hope is to disarm the citizens. Forget it… I will always support the NRA!
unauthorized charge
National recovery agency had took money from my account without authorization. They asked for a payment and I agreed to pay on it cause I didn't have it all. They in return debited the entire amount over drawing my account and ended up costing me more money
threatening phone calls and harassment
Received harassing phone calls from the NRA on 11/30/15 about a claim that they had received against me for three hundred dollars. They tell you that it is where you received money from an online lender. They have a lot of your personal information but not all of it is correct, when asked to verify. I have never borrowed money online. The lady that call has a island accent and is very rude. She threatened me if I did not settle this claim with the today that I better have a good lawyer and they will see me in court. This claim I had never heard of these people and it was from 2013.
I received a call on December 22, 2015 on my cell phone from a Greenberg, Schwartz & Associates in Fort Lauderdale, FL claiming I owe a pay day debt from 4 years ago, 2011. I asked why did it take soooo long to reach me. They claim they sent many letters to my old address. Wrong, I used my family's address and they would have complained of the repeated letters. I remember that move and I contacted ALL creditors and explained my financial situation and worked to correct it with ALL creditors. THERE is no way any cash advance company would have let me slide for 4 years. At that time, they had my phone number and new address. I did some research on Greenberg et al., they are not a law firm for a online cash lender, Alliance. When I called them and left a message, the electronic voice said, "National Recovery Associates." Why would NRA call me and send me an email with letterhead of Greenberg, Schwartz? Greenberg or NRA threatened to forward legal documents to my job. I returned their call via my office phone. Big mistake on my part. Greenberg, Schartz claimed I owe $2, 000.00 but they would settle for $800.00 plus attorney fees. I have not received the legal docs. I contacted the Florida Bar. I was informed Greenberg, Schwartz is not a law firm and they do not exist.
harassment
This agency contacted my husband and claimed he owes money since 2013. We have never borrowed money from them nor have we ever heard from them. They threatened him with legal action and have now called and left a message his sister's cell phone. We plan on filing a police report.
harassment by them...
I have repeatedly been called several times a day by them. This is regarding a debt issue that has nothing to do with me or my family in any possible way! I've repeatedly asked for them to stop calling me but they refuse to do so. They are rude and very difficult to deal with. But they continue to call...
repo driver #
Yesterday I had my car repo was out of work 3 mo. Due to illness the driver was a rude [censored] bag from the beginning. Told me he was going to beat my # called me a pussy. Funny I have a black belt in the martial arts. Could have messed this # clown up really bad! He was throing things out of my car I left in there would like to know his name. Ford motor sent him. Shows you how much class they have!
debt collection
I am continually being harassed by this company concerning a debt that is not mine from a company I have never heard of. They have also called family members. When I tried to get information about the "creditor" in order to investigate the matter further, I was yelled at and not given any useful information. They attempt to intimidate and threaten. The agent's last words were "we will see you in court." They make no attempt to resolve the issue. They refuse to provide any written documentation. Either someone stole my identity or this company just fraudulently made up this imaginary debt. These folks are extremely belligerent and persistent. They are highly unprofessional and use illegal tactics to attempt to extort money from the consumer.
they keep calling my job number with treats back to back
They keep calling saying I owe some dept form back some 8 or 9years ago. I told them to stop calling my job but they still keep calling and treating to send simmons on my job and garnishment from my pay. their phone # [protected] and [protected]. they also said I owe $700.00 and if it don't pay in a timely manner I will have to pay 15000.00. Please I would like them to stop harassing me at my work place! I also talk to my lawyer they said any dept after 6-7 years they should not be harassing people about it. I think they are fraud they keep calling from different numbers. They did not give me a file number or any thing they don't want to answer my questions but they want you to answer there questions. date of incident 9/24/15 around 9am. my email is Erica.[protected]@yahoo.com.
violation of fair debt collection practices act
In an effort to resolve a debt claim that I am not responsible for, I spoke with the manager to offer a confidential resolution and that offer was denied. I asked that they "Validate the debt" not verify my address and he said that they have had the file since August of 2014 and that the time has expired on debt validation. Pursuant to 15 USC 1692(g) Section 809(a) states "...that within 5 days after the initial communication..." OK I acknowledge that we are way beyond the 5 day point, however, there has been no initial communication aside from my phone call today to them to resolve the matter, which I learned of through Credit Karma. This alleged debt goes back 4 years to a location we used to live. Since that location we had moved twice and neither address was known by National Recovery Agency. Since they did not have our address, how did they make contact with us? They didn't. Therefore the 5 days would actually begin today with the initiation of contact by us in an effort to resolve the matter. National Recovery Agency has clearly stated that they will not VALIDATE THE DEBT as required by law. National Recovery Agency is in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Fair Collections Practices Act, and are liable for defamation of character by making this unvalidated claim upon our bureau reports.
They call you house, put you on hold and when you do talk to a person if you are not the one there calling for they are very rude to you and hang up the phone on you !

unethical unprofessional illegal
I received two calls in one day on my mobile phone. . . The call was routed to my vm which had a pre recorded machine that routed my to an agent once the call was answered. There was no identifying information on the vm regarding the caller and / or the nature of the call. Intrigued and concerned, i called back. Twice my call was disconnected while waiting for an agent. A third time i was routed to a smug, uncooperative male agent. Upon inquiring who they were - what company this was i was answered with questions about my personal information. It seems that a simple question does not equal a simple answer to the nra because they wanted me to confirm my personal data without at least giving me the peace of mind of who i am speaking with. Upon researching the matter i found that collection agencies are obligated by law to identify themselves and the website accepts payments without allowing the consumer to see how much they owe and for what. I cannot believe this company is still in existence.
alleged bill
I have received threatening phone calls from this company both at work and at home. They did not identify the company when they called:I called their number to find out who they were. I subsequently read about their unethical and illegal practices on the web.
They need to be stopped.
I'm afraid that you are the only one who can stop them from harassing you.
If you live in a 'one party recording' state, you can record the calls from them without telling them you are. If you live in one of these
states, you should always record calls with a debt collector. The next time they call, ask for their mailing address and fax number. They must, by Federal law, give you this information. With information in hand, hang up and type up a cease and desist letter... In the letter, state that the debt is not yours and to cease and desist any further communications about the matter. Type your name at the bottom of the letter. (Never sign a communication with a debt buyer. These signatures have been known to be placed on faked documents to help 'beef up' a debt buyer's claim. It's happened more times that you know.) Anyway, fax the letter to the number they provided (keep the successful transmission notice). Send a copy to them at the address they provided. Send the
letter certified with return receipt requested. Keep the return receipt when it comes back to you in the mail. At this point, by law, they must stop contacting you about the debt. If they choose to ignore the law and keep contacting you, you now have proof that you've asked them to stop. This proof, along with recorded phone calls (or detailed called notes if you don't record the calls) are necessary to stop them if you have to take them to court.
national recovery agency knowingly extorts fraudulent debts, but I found a solution
Like most people who dealt with this company, I experienced them trying to intimidate me into paying a debt that I knew was fraudulent and they almost certainly did too. Like others here, mine was for a doctors bill, they seem to specialize in collaborating with crooked little urgent care facilities that try to play a shell game with insurance companies and patients to shake the patients down with more money. Memorial Urgent Care filed an incorrect billing code to my insurance company, resulting in the insurance company rejecting my claim for "not having received a referral from my primary care physician. When I spoke to Memorial Urgent Care's billing department, they said it was the insurance company's mistake, and the insurance company said, no, it was Memorial Urgent Care's mistake. Eventually, after multiple calls, and after Memorial Urgent Care's billing department forwarded the debt to National Recovery Agency (2491 Paxton Street, Harrisburg, PA 17111), the clinic itself intervened with its billing department, and got them to admit their error and take off the debt. This happened to us again with a visit of my wife to Memorial Urgent Care, same exact billing "mistake", so we stopped going there. We called, and both the clinic and the billing department said they would take care of their mistake. On February 22, 2014, we received a letter from National Recovery Agency demanding payment on the debt that both the clinic and their billing department had said they would take care of. After the first time Memorial Urgent Care did this to us, we spoke to numerous people in our neighborhood who all said the same thing had happened to them, and they had received these letters from National Recovery Agency, and sent letters to NRA explaining that it was Memorial Urgent Care's billing department mistake. It appears that Memorial Urgent Care's standard operating procedure is to purposefully misfile and then attempt to collect money from consumers it knows they don't actually owe them, expecting them to just pay to get them off its back. Given the number of people who have explained this to National Recovery Agency, NRA knows this is their SOP, and is knowingly complicit in helping them collect this fraudulent debts. I made National Recovery Agency aware of Memorial Urgent Care's invalid debt against me, and that Laura Sales, employee at Memorial Urgent Care [protected]), spoke with me and said she didn't understand why I was still getting bills, as she had told her billing department that I did not owe any money. National Recovery Agency is therefore fully aware that Memorial Urgent Care's billing department asks them to collect debts that are not legitimate, yet National Recovery Agency still attempts to collect debts for them. Trying to explain this to the NRA thugs over the phone is useless, as well as extremely rude and treat you like a deadbeat even when you tell them both a representative of their client and the insurance company say the client made the mistake and give them names and numbers to call for verification. They stonewall you and insist on you writing a letter before they will ask for verification from the
So I filed a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, it's quick and easy, and within a few days my complaint was resolved satisfactorily, though notice how the creeps at NRA try to save face at the end:

Relief
This account has been closed and returned to the creditor. No further action will be taken by our agency on this account.
Response
Upon receipt of this complaint, a request was made to the creditor to provide verification. The creditor has not supplied our office with verification and therefore the decision was made to close the account and return it to the creditor. A validation notice was previously mailed to the consumer on February 15, 2014 which would have provided information on the dispute procedures, the account and the balance. No correspondence, aside from this complaint, has ever been received from the consumer in our office.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
debt collection
One day I got a surprise letter in the mail from this company telling me I owed a certain dr bill an amount of money. I called many times since this was quite a surprise, asked questions, for which all answers were: I don't know and tgen found them attached to my credit report this bringing my rating down little by little. I supplied them with proof of copies of cancelled checks & bills yet when I requested to see proof in firm of itemized bill from the dr office, they kept telling me he refuses to cooperate by sending that info. That is a lie since when someone from dr office called, they were able to supply him with info but I yet to see any proof that I really owe this amount! Then just to get them off my credit report I decided to just pay, but even if you pay in full they tack on extra fee. I didn't want to give them the extra fee for convenience of giving them access to my checking account so I asked address where I send only the amount owed & the woman became very nasty & read the address so quickly I made her repeat it 3x until I got it correct. Then I needed my account number---read to me just as fast, made her repeat it. I question they're legitimacy since they never provided me with any proof or answers other than--I don't know. If they're true collection agency they should know my frequently asked type questions which is why I question if they are legit. In the end the woman screamed on the phone to me when I asked final question of what does it mean to be put on "do not call list" her reply was---does this mean you refuse to pay?!? Idk how my question necessitated that reply since it didn't make sense. Think is rather have heard the usual--idk answer they gave me all other times. They're rude, nasty and under knowledges ( IMO deceiving). I hope to never hear from this company ever again but I do wonder how legit they are. They can't provide me PROOF yet I had to send MY OROOF. Just doesn't add up. They could be asking me for money I really don't owe & I'll never really know the answer but worth just getting rid of them for amount they're requesting
