I have been a Commerce Bank customer since 2004 and was very happy with everyhting. Then TD comes along and buys this good bank and turns everything into crap. Since when did they start charging debit card overdraft fees? Not only that, but the fees are astronomical! $140 overdraft fee? Are you kidding me? I tried calling but after 45 minutes of being on hold i gave up. Sent them a message via the website and no reply. I am begining my search for a new bank ASAP! TD BLOWS!

stopurbtchn is obviously a shill for TD bank. Look at her comments, they only apply to TD bank and they are always on TD banks side. TD bank is a crappy bank and only a person that works for TD bank would ever side with them.

I have had both a business checking account and a personal checking account at TD Bank. I am ready to switch banks. Never in my lift have I had so many Overdrafts in my checking accounts as I have had from TD Bank. I realize now that a primary reason for this is that they maintain two separate sets of books; one they work from, and one that they share with customers on their website.

The online checking register will show checks deposited and available to use as soon as it has cleared; usually the next day. The set of books they maintain for themselves will not show the money as being available until the end of the next day. That way, if checks come in before the end of business on the second day, they will deduct the amount of the check from the balance in your account BEFORE you deposited the check. It is almost amazing how many extra Overdraft Fees they can charge this way. When you go into complain, they act as if keeping two different sets of accounts is a standard business practice!

They did the same exact thing to me. Apparently, they process their transactions "largest to smallest" regardless of when the transaction actually occurred. This sometimes results in the larger transaction overdrawing the account and making every subsequent smaller transaction cause an overdraft fee. In this case, all of my "smaller" transactions occurred on Friday and over the weekend while the "larger" transaction occurred on Monday. They refuse to refund any of the overdraft fees even though they admit that they can see that the smaller transactions occurred while there were sufficient funds in the account. This is plain old stealing and is just wrong.

Went to my local branch of TD Bank (Augusta) to get counter checks to pay a security deposit and current and future rent. Post-dated 2 of the checks to meet the agreed rental terms. Asked the teller if for any reason the receptionist at my rental company's office got the checks mixed up if they would be honored before the date due she said NO. Dropped the checks off. Two weeks later my payroll check, which is direct deposited is shown as in pending status well past the point of clearing, as I now have to to expect from TD Bank, there are the post-dated checks. One which is dated for 3 weeks out.

They do not release my pay check of course until they over-draft everything. Almost $200 in charges later TD Bank has credited me back $35.00 along with a nice email stating it was due to my irresponsibility that I incurred the outrageous fees for an error that could have been prevented if the teller was trained to give accurate information. TD Bank will hold your payroll checks well past clearing but WILL clear checks that are deducted from your account any time they choose. BEWARE!

I have a student checking account. As a college student I clearly don't have money to be paying for their scam. They claim I enrolled in the td debit card advance which allows you to overdraft. Once I opened my account months ago I opted out of this because I don't wish to pay for these fees. So apparently out of the blue I clicked so many buttons online that I 'enrolled myself in it' I never did this! Their servers can see everything 'I did' online and they claim I did it. I Never went into any tab that said that I wanted to enroll in this! Once I called they said they would only revert $70 when they charged me $240 I 'talked' to a manager who mainly did most of the talking as she practically didn't let me say a word. Then she transferred me to the online banking service which was supposed to tell me how I enrolled in such thing as I have no idea how I did it (because I didn't). The sound during this call was horrible and the woman had a thick accent. She wanted me to prove that it was my account before actually helping me so she asked for my account number. I didn't have this one in hand so I have her my card number. Then she asked for recent transaction amounts and dates. I tell her that I know of recent transactions but I don't have the dates and she keeps repeating the same thing very slowly as if I were stupid. She refused to help me with my account unless I did what she told me so I hung up. In the end nobody wants to revert my fees so now I have to sell random belongings on the internet to save money to pay for their scam. I am refraining from going online because who know maybe I click a button and they will charge me thousands of dollars. I am disgusted by TD bank and as soon as I pay this unfairness I will close my account and report them to the Better business bureau. They have no shame in scamming and taking money from innocent customers.

I have been with the same bank for about 15 years. Even though our auto deduct mortgage is through them I will be going in to close my account monday. I can no longer deal with td switching my transactions around while I sleep so I wake up with numerous overdraft fees because TDBANK goes out of their way to move bigger transactions to the front of the line so all the little transactions can be charged overdraft fees. The silly ### at the bank even had the nerve to say "Of course you would want the larger transactions posted first" They are more important!" WOW Really? I want to pay an extra 35.00 for buying a 3 dollar air freshener in the AM and have a check clear that night without pending and move in front of a 20 dollar withdrawal I made at 7AM. ENOUGH! I Quit!

Td bank is shady. If you don't believe me look them up they been sued two times for charging overdraft fees . They lost twice and was fined because they don't post funds right away. For example you go in to the bank to deposit 300 dollars cash. It won't be avaliable to you right away. It takes them a 24 hours to post it to your account. So if you decided to purchase anything they will hit you with an overdraft fee 35 dollars they can charge you 5 times a day for overdraft. They are crooks. If you open a checking account at chase, wellsfargo, suntrust, etc any of these banks . You would know if you depisit cash it is avaliable right away. Only check take 7 buissness days to process depending on the check. Now td bank offer their clients an advance checking which basically allows you to purchase things even if you have no funds. So they can turn around and hit you with overdraft fees. In the other banks your purchases would be declined they will not allow you to purchase anything if you have insufficient funds and they will charge you a one time 35 dollar overdraft fee. Not td bank they will continue to overdraft you and charge you. They are not looking out for the intrest of their clients. They are robbing thier clients blind. Yeah no banks perfect but a bank that can't provide any benifits to their clients makes no sense. Most bank don't want you to owe them money so they decline your purchases because they don't want loses. Not td bank they look at it as hiting the jackpot. They want you to owe them so they can charge you overdraft. Did you know Td bank has been investigated and they found out they don't pay your purchases in order. For example if you look at a wellsfargo, Chase account. You will see all your debts in order let say i pay my light bill 300.00, gas 25.00 5.00 at KFC . Well that the order it would be in . When you look at your account. Not td bank they will post the 5.00 then 25.00 then the 300.00 and if you didn't have enough funds they will claim they charge you 2 overdraft fee for the bigger amount and 1 for each smaller. So you owe then140 .00 in fees. Bunch of crooks is what td bank is . They been fine for doing this. If you don't believe me look it up. They have lots of complaints with their clients. They were even force to return some overdraft fees to their clients. This bank is making themselves rich over overdraft. I can't wait for td bank to be bankrupt fine, closed . They are the worst bank ever.

Td bank customer service is the worst. They don't really explain to you anything and don't ask them questions alot of them don't know or do know but work with the bank to rob you blindly. An advance checking at td bank is dangerous. If you don't opt out they will overdraft your account any chance they get. Now you shouldn't overdraft your account in the first place you may argue and your right but if it your first time banking with this bank and you didn't read the contract or understands how the bank works. Let me fill you in. If you deposit your money in a cash form. It doesn't necessarly mean the funds are avaliable nope not with td bank there's 24 hour wait or more depending on the day. So don't use your debit card to make purchases the funds are not avaliable but you need gas. Okay use the card at own risk. Guess what you will be charge an overdraft plus the gas money and the more you use the card the more overdraft until you end up oweing them alot more money.it makes sense td bank is green. It the green eye monster out to devoured your hard earn money.

My name is Janiece and I became of victim of identity Theif. My credit card was compromise and use in two locations on Staten Island, NY in H&m and Champs clothing store. It happen on 05/08/2016. I finally realize, when I tried to purchased a pair of sneakers fory son on Monday 05/09/2016. I contacted TD BANK. I spoke to a TDBANK Represenitive, I told her I'm having problems with my card she stated to me "Ms. Simpson, sorry to say u have no funds in your account! My draw dropped. I was so confused! She informed me about a purchase that was made in h&m & Champs! I told her sorry it wasn't me and I have my card with me! I went on to tell the Represenitive I may live in NY! But I never visited staten Island in my life! She said "well it seems to me, you are a vctim of identity theft and I will closed your card! Come to find out that evening the representative, I spoke to earlier on 05/09/16 never closed my card! I was just so hurt; one I was a victim of identity before, two my financial situation is not the best, and three what if the money I had on my card was my whole life savings! The fact that she didn't do her job, what really borthers me! I was in tears, I felt like everything I shared with her, went through one ear & out the other! It only takes one second to click a button & write a note stating " this customer card has been compromise & used at several locations ". But she didn't! What if I didn't have money to feed my son or was jobless! How can a person be inconsiderate, nonchalant & careless! I feel like she had job to do & she didn't! Lil things like this is why I really don't feel secure with TDBANk, the representatives are so careless! Come to find out when I called champs & h&m on Staten Island! They pulled up cameras with the exact time of these purchase and said it was an Indian, Moroccan looking couple with toddlers, who bought items with my card number! An all I can think about is the time I used my card two days earlier in the Bronx at this Arab store! An the funny thing about it was two ATM machines. An this guy assisted that I take money out this specific one and had a whole conversation with me while I was with my son! I'm black I'm not racist but things like this is why I can't stand certain races, they have no morals! Future reference to any body use your local BANK!

Td bank at the cornere of 5th ave and 1st street placed a levy on my workerscompensation money when I called the levy department a supervisor identified herself as Carol no last name said she is not allowed to give out her last name but her employee id number is 596508. she said Governor Patterson passed a law in 2009 called the exempt fund belt. She said the bank can exempt me 2500 of my money and put a levy on the rest of my account even though it is workers compensation money.she refused to release my workers comp money and told me to contact the company that placed the levy

Hit with overdraft fees of 700.00 over a period of 1 week while no one notified my daughter that her account was in negative. She was talked into choosing the overdraft protection plan which screwed her over. They took her whole paycheck that she was going to spend on books for school. Got hit with $35.00 charges for a dollar and couple of cents in transactions. We were told she should treat this as a lesson. Tomorrow we are closing account with them. Have fun screwing other teenagers, that's how you make money I guess.
