Text Collect text collect

I was putting money on ny phone every other day..for like week and a half..and now today...it wont give me the option to charge the call to my mobile number...Just credit or debit...or set up a account...And when i tryed calling the text collect business line.. theres isnt a live real person..all it is is precordings..So how do I fix this..cuz my fiance is getting pissed...and he still has five days..

Text Collect collect call

On Sunday October 1st 2017 I received a call from a correctional facility. I proceeded to accept the call, the operator was talking way too much and the caller hung up before I got the chance to talk to them. The text collect charge me $9.99 and I did not get to speak to my person please refund my money thank you. This is bad business on Verizons part.

Text Collect Charged Several Times - Never Connected!

My son was trying to call us from jail using text collect. Of course we want to connect with him so we choose the lesser of 2 evils $14.99 15 min or $9.99 for 10 min. OUTRAGEOUS price but what the heck want to connect with our so, but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... we listen to the machine robot ramble on and on receive a text, reply to the text and...wait for it...NOTHING ...service hangs up. Of course our son tries again...nothing, and again, nothing. Can you speak to a person...no (after business hours, how convenient). The hoops this service makes you jump through leads you to believe it is a SCAM. We tried to connect at least 7 times...NO GO! Never got to speak to him I WANT A REFUND Text Collect! NOW! How is this system allow to be in place ?

I received a call from my boyfriend from the facility and I got the option to pay with a text so I got the text and reply with the word that they told me to and I still didn't get to speak to him I listen to the machine ladies voice the whole time and never got to speak with him. They need to get rid of this text collect and make the whole thing FREE. I was also charged for the bill and I didn't even get to speak with him

i gota call Fri, Jan 4 charged $9, 99 at 6:43 then at 6:44 igot another receipt for 19.99 that aint right i want it fixed thank u

Text Collect Poor Service

I received Text Collect from my son tonight. He was just transferred from one prison to another facility, so I took the call thinking something may be wrong. The reception was so bad that everything he said was so garbled I had to ask him to repeat everything and could still not understand what he was saying, just a word here and there. The whole conversation was about the reception instead of the important stuff we needed to discuss. I finally told him to write me with the infomation we needed to discuss. This was a total waste of money and certainly a scam at $9.99 per call. I called the number they gave for help and all I got was a machine to leave a message, which I doubt will ever be returned. Also, they gave you an option to block all collect calls to your mobile, which I did give them my number (which was probably a mistake) then the recording said there was an error. Therefore, this option did not go through. Anyone out there beware, don't use this service.

Accepted a $9.99 collect call billed tony cellular plan and was never connected! I want my money back!

Tonight my son tried to call me from county jail in another state. I followed all the recorded instructions. When I would push the required number for specific transaction I heard, after a few seconds of silence, "I do not understand your response". I pushed the asked for number! and your program cannot recognize it? This happened repeatedly and at some times, after asking for a different numerical response which I then entered there was no response at all. The whole thing went on for five minutes and then your service hung up on me! I received two more calls and the exact same thing happened. At one point I called the number back and was told that it was past business hours but if I would just push #1 then I could leave a message. When I pushed #1 the call was ended by that answering service. If it was past business hours then why was your service trying to do business with me in the first place? Right now I think that you and your service are some kind of scam because no legitimate business would have such an incompetent service.

We are very sorry for your experience. I am sure that by now you have been called back about your poor experience. We take this service very seriously and consumer satisfaction is of the utmost importance. Additionally, there was an issue for a couple of days with the auto blocking on the IVR system when you reached when you called in, but if you did ever speak to a rep I am sure the number is blocked as of now. The service is very reliable and quite a necessity for many thousands that need to speak to their loved ones. Text Collect Charged & not connected

On december 20th my son called collect from a jail in michigan through text collect and after trying 6 times and being billed 6 times the amount of 9. 99 per call for a 5 minute call we were connected 1 time for approximately 3 min. Then disconnected without notice. They should not be able to call a cell phone anyway i do have a home phone but they do not service landlines my son was told. It is outrageous how the scam people who desperately need to talk to loved ones especially this time of year.

I was charged $10.93 for a call, but it was never connected after I gave the word to consent. After, it said I would talk to someone, but never did and it still charged my phone bill.

I can't get through to the number that was texted to me from textcollect. I recieved two calls that disconnected right away and I called for a refund since it was disconnected. They said the refund would reflect on my cell phone bill within two days. This was over two weeks ago and there is no refund. I have been trying to call for three days now and the call won't even go through. Someone please help.

You and I and clearly thousands of others have been ripped off by this evil company. I am trying to gather names of others so a class action lawsuit can be filed.

For Securus Customers:

Securus (and other companies that provide phone service for inmates) has to comply with the new FCC ruling by February 11th of 2014. This will cap the long distance fees and some of the other bogus fees they charge. It does not apply to local call rates, and it doesn't address their refund policy, which should be criminal. They refuse to issue refunds for calls made to cell phones - even though SECURUS DISCONNECTS THE CALL - they charge for the maximum time, 20 minutes, even if they disconnect the call after one minute.

I've googled and found a ridiculous amount of complaints, many about the same issues - dropped calls, no refunds, poor quality service, rude and inept customer service.

I am contacting other customers who have filed complaints, when their contact information is available. I want to use social networking to find more, collect names, and organize. To be included, please send your contact info to ClassActionSecurus@gmail.com.

I got charged for 4 calls and I didn't have anybody in jail for them to call me. Did they get a number mix up or something .

Did you call them?

If you're ever charged without the call getting connected they can reimburse you with no problems; all you have to do is give them your name and phone number. If it's a Text Collect call and you have AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon you can be refunded right to your phone bill.

MY SON CALLED ME FROM BULLOCK CO. JAIL AND TEXT COLLECT BILLED ME AND DIDNOT CONNECTED THE CALL THIS A DISGRACE ! OF HOW CONSUMMERS GET RIPPED OFF IN TODAYS SOCITY BY SUPPOSELY LEGAL SERVICES!

I'm actually a Text Collect Customer Agent, i don't know how the services were back then because i started at the beginning of this year. But, i DO know if you get disconnected; we can look into it and refund you accordingly. I know for a fact that 80% of our customer inquiries are for disconnections and we refund just about most of them. Obviously, alot of customers call saying they get disconnected at 8 Minutes, in a 10 Minute facility..of course we can't refund calls that were spoken on for almost the full duration.

And as far as "Forcing" you to make an account with securus. Thats not exactly true. Each facility uses a specific company to handle their calling services. So, Jails that our company service can also be serviced by Securus. Some jails can ONLY use Securus, some can ONLY use Global Tel-Link, some can ONLY use Tenetic LLC. So, instead of people saying we're a monopoly, we're not..we're just a company that the jail would like to use.
