The workers here do nothing but abuse their authority, while not even providing toilet paper. They implement a bunch of invisible rules, and write you up- though rules are not posted that clients if supposedly breaking. Ince you meet with a case manager, you are given a lot of out dated unhelpful information and the case manager has very little knowledge. The clients do all the chores and jobs, while the employees just boss everyone around and are rude to the clients as if they are getting paid to be here. I heard three clients complain about no toilet paper in most the facility since the evening hour's and it is twelve hours later and toilet paper is not replaced. There are never paper towels or soap to wash and dry your hands. They lists continental breakfast on entry paper work, yet all that is provided is milk and cereal every morning. That should probably be corrected to state: breakfast. The family room is just chairs and a tv, while the singles living room is quite more luxury. The facility is too cold for comfort. My children and I sleep in the front lobby, and they don't even turn out the lights so we can comfortably sleep. Things are constantly stolen here as well. I do not recommend this facility unless you don't have children or personal belongings.
manager
My mom was recently accused of stealing at our near Salvation Army store. The manager not only accused her of stealing without any proofs at all! She also embarrassed her infront of everybody that was around.. my mom came out of the store with tears in her eyes after the humiliation she had to go through. All started because she was killing time before catching the bus to work, bus stop was near infront of the store. My mother ran to catch the bus and the manager immediately yelled at my mom infront of her face and made her feel uncomfortable. My mom has been a constant customer to the store for more than 6 years. We are located in Chicago IL the store's address is 2151 W Devon ave Chicago IL 60659 and the store Managers name is Evelyn I was unable to get her last name but if anything could be done please email me at [protected]@gmail.com
Thank you and God bless.
unethical behaviour
I would like to express my complete disappointment with the treatment i have received from the local Salvation Army. I don't want to assume i am being discriminated against but the complete lack empathy and unwillingness to provide answers to basic questions is a concern. Months have gone by and the call avoidance and invalidating tone when Anna Maria decides to answer. Customer service and a basic level of empathy is non existent. Instead an obnoxious Anna who talks over you with a defensive tone threatens to no longer provide information.
the salvation army adult rehabilitation center - schedule donation pickup
The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center dispatch manager and team very rude. We had called to donate a sofa bed two weeks ago and was scheduled for today 8/3/17. They told me to call first thing in the morning to find out around what time they would come to pick it up. I took the day off from work to ensure I would be available for the pick up. I called 4 times and was put on hold, hung up on and told someone would call me back. Never heard back. I finally got to the manager (Matt) who told me they had me in the system but had lost my ticket and there was no way they could get to my donation today. I am very frustrated with the fact that they are not serious about the donation pickups and treat people with disregard. People who actually take a day off to ensure their donations are going to someone in need. You can tell they just don't care at all. He ended up putting me on hold for over 15 min just to tell me there was nothing he could do.
customer service
I have went twice to the Salvation of Army for help. The first time was last month when I went in for Food. The receptionist was so nasty that my 9 year old son said he felt bad as he was leaving.
And Im in need of help with my rent for next week and the social worker was also nasty that I felt uncomfortable. I don't understand how they hire people to help and when its time to ask for help you feel degraded. It a very awful feeling.
Amen I agree. A petition needs to be done
donations
I am a staff member of Star Girlz Empowerment. My boss met a Colonel last year. He provided Backpacks for a local event called Bling. From that event I met others who wanted to partner for the next year. As the time approached my contact informed me she was moving on to another job. She also stated that she informed the individual (Kristen Blayout) that she had 175 Backpacks ordered for the Star Girlz event 2017. This information was in a text. After calling and being given the run-a-round for 2-3weeks I finally spoke with Dale Wanty. This gentleman was unbelievable rude, saracastic, judgmental, hateful and uncooperative to say the least. Our first conversation was with a totally demeaning tone. At the same time after leaving numerous voicemails for him Kristen Blayout sends an email back within 37minutes. When Dale calls out of his guilt, he mentions he does not have a clue of my reference about him having Kristen final answer Star Girlz back. From there he made the job of resolving this issue turn into a personal matter. Never did he try to resolve his misunderstanding of helping a customer. He tried to stop any donation promised by jumping to a conclusion to say NO! He lied and firmly stated There was no evidence of a promise for Backpacks. I told him it could be retrieved. He still stated NO! I sent a text that was retrieved, he still said NO! He seemed racist to say the least. I sent an email advising this was escalated but I would really rather he assist with just finding a way to help get what was promised. Of course, he never answered. Little did he know, Stars Girlz is much closer to Salvation Army than he was willing to research and see. Kristen seemed just as racist and was totally unprofessional by releasing confidential information on how the former employee didn't perform well and she gave more Backpacks than the former employee did. That was a lie and Star Girlz knew it. These 2 employees have really shown me how evil people can be. I'm still in awe of how they never followed Protocol to consider the kids who would receive items needed. The Backpacks were not Dale's or Kristen's. Why act like you are God and you control the universe. You will reap what you sow! Still in AWE!
unethical behavior i.e. political boycott of our president.
You have chosen to boycott a business (Mar-A-Lago club) because of political reasons, thus contributing to the divide in our Nation. I don't like to play politics when choosing charities. In the past I have donated substantially, especially at Christmas, to the Salvation Army, but since you have now chosen this path, I have donated my last to the Salvation Army.
Mr Trump has a long history of denouncing white nationalists, specifically David Duke and the KKK. Read your history and get your info from a reliable source.
Your sales are going down dramatically at your store on Bird Road in Miami.
Before on Wednesdays you could hardly find parking.
Today it was so empty I thought the store was closed.
Dollar store items are priced at $2.00.
Every thing has gone up in price.
Before you could at least find something at a good price but it gives the impression some one is taking anything good before it gets on the shelves.
Not one Guayavera shirt on the shelf in Miami is proof.
All the Tommy Bahama or other Hawaiian shirts of quality are missing.
You could always find some of these in stock, you are loosing customers and lots of $$$$$$.
Something is rotten in Denmark.
Suggest some one Check
He is also known to be a liar. It's a shame you're too [censor] stupid to figure that out. Read your history...hell...read his tweets. That's enough proof of his lies.
Aww...did I upset you snowflake? Maybe you need a safe space.
Swine? lol
Another trump voter in denial. Sorry snowflake. He's going to be impeached or hung.
I think Trump embracing the white nationalists creates more of a divide than anything else. The salvation army doesn't want to be associated with nazis or trump. Are you a nazi? And you're going to make the less fortunate suffer because you're a snowflake who can't accept that this is the worst thing to his white house in history. He has no support from his party, and the only thing he's repealed and replaced has been his staff.
the redhead at the cash register with the accent
I was shopping the other day and I had checked out all I had was a 20. She said in a loud tone "you don't have change for a 20?" I told her that's all I have she said then go get change. I told her if she kindly hold on to my items I will come back with proper change. She stood there thought about then snatch the money out of my hands she said " Whatever, ill just do it now. I did not appreciate her tone nor her attitude.if she was upset about The 20 dollar bill, which I don't know why it want like I handed her a 100 dollar bill. My issue is the way she handle it and the way she addressed me in front of others. I got that look from the gentleman behind me like he felt sorry for me. I don't understand why she had an attitude over a 20. I will NEVER donate to this store again. I will also tell my friends to donate else where.
your political correctness
After being made aware that the Salvation Army has cancelled an event at one of President Trumps properties, I am extremely disappointed. Just because he made a statement that some person or organization felt was inappropriate is no reason to react the way you have.
I am so tired of political correctness that we have decided to no longer make any property donations and will from now on walk right past the Red Kettles we see during the holidays.
I think there are many, many of us who feel this way. I, for one, will no longer donate the Salvation Army.
a donation pick up
Hello,
Im emailing you in regards to a Pick up I set a month in advance. It was set for Monday 8/14/2015. The items were a 3-piece entertainment center, box spring, 2 Mattresses, a bed frame, and 2 dressers. I put everything out on the lawn and took out drawer and disassembled items as instructed. Without notification the drivers canceled my original pickup date and rescheduled it for the next day. There was no way I could put EVERYTHING back inside the house so it was left over night. After calling customer service on Tuesday 8/15 the rep proceeded to tell me that the drivers had already passed by and did not take ANYTHING. He let me know that the drivers told him that the equipment was "dirty" and that the entertainment center had "holes"
1. The equipment was dirty BECAUSE everything was left outside OVERNIGHT due to the drivers not picking up at my original date.
2. the entertainment center has holes FOR THE CORDS, thats how tv stands and entertainment centers are build.
3. the dressers are in great condition and NOTHING was taken.
I am convinced that the drivers did not give any effort in trying to pick ANYTHING up at all.
I'd like to get this picked up as soon as possible. Please provide me with a plan of action.
Thank you
sexual harassment, stalking, employee, misconduct, unethical behavior speech violation inappropriate and misleading facts
I and my 9 year old son was let into the Salvation Army: Lambuth Family Center location 06-29-17. Before we showed up to the meeting scheduled at 9:00 a. m. with Sarai Williams (case manager; I didn't know then, but before our scheduled appointment, I had broke my left foot). Since we have been there I've had to call the Police because of All the things me and my family have endured! Ave tried to speak to the Owner Robert, but me and my family have been denied access to the Owner/Regional Direct information and that location Insurance information due to me falling down a stairway, due to them laughing and keeping the elevator from coming up to the third floor, holding and pressing buttons [protected] around 11:30-1:30pm) Due to Rick (the cook), Sarai Williams (who was at first my case manager; until she wrongfully walked in while I was changing my sanitary napkin in my room: not sure if she saw me naked with another family who also said she didn't knock as well, also stalked and followed me for more than an hour outside the sites location, asked me to get in her van, and harrasing me and family yesterday afternoon around 12p. m. 08-10-17) and other workers who my son Mahkye N. Dinkins who is nine years old couldn't get on tape, or rememeber there faces, was responsible for me tearing my right leg ligament, and rebreaking my foot. At the Salvation Army Lambuth location there is another worker by the name of Mrs. Rita (I don't know her last name who has wrongfully cut off the lights while me and family was eating before time, wrote me up for that, wrote me up for reading the Bible, washing when I was suppose to, and not doing chores because of Doctors orders, due to my broke foot and torn ligament and they have my documentation of me being disabled by State before I was excepted in the program (psychical and mental disabilities). Theres and woman the other staff and families call "Captain" wrongfully typed a letter stating that we were going to meet on 07-12-17 but slide it under my door on 07-11-17, but when I came to the location on 07-12-17 Mrs. Betty another worker who works there told me "they already had the meeting yesterday", and that the staff missed up but everyone was out of town now and we couldn't have the meeting. It has been a lot of things these cruel workers at this location have done to me and my son wrongfully and I would like to get Robert (Rob;location Owner, Regional Director information to Civilly Sue (take to court, because of there misconduct of them misusing there authority and stopping the elevator on 08-01-17 and 08-10-17 forcing me on the 08-01-17 to walk down after them coming and knocking on my door (Sarai Williams and Mrs. Betty) and telling me and my son that the elevator works). There is more to this but I must talk to someone in person to having this matter addressed like back since 07-04-17 when these situations started to occur. Me (Davella Danielle Dinkins Orr) and son had to call the police last night because Sarai Williams before we left out stopped us and said "you have to take the stairs, and you are being wrote up for not doing your chores", so when we returned about 9:17 we could not go up to our room because the elevator door was wide open with a sign held up with tape that said "out of order". The worker who was on the clock last night Told the Police officers she "didn't have a key to make the elevator work", which intel told the police, the elevator was working but "they made it not work, for what ever reason", which mad officer Ryan Moser and another officer take me to the police station to get a hotel voucher. I have not returned yet an I don't want too. I would prefer for them to pay out for us to go to the hotel because other sites have No openings, and the way the Salvation Army has done us I wouldn't want to go to another site because I'm in fear for me and my son's life. (don't trust there references they give to future landlords, eating there food, or just them doing hateful backlash stuff to things in our room, food in locker, etc). Also we are missing some iteams that was stored in our room, clothing, and not sure what now because we was denied access yesterday to go to room on third floor.

theft and fraudulent activity
The Salvation Army church located in Sayre, PA ran by Captain Deb. I'm reporting her office workers for altering documents and abusing funds to help their own family members and friends. I am also aware that during Christmas sign ups they don't always prepare the proper papers and when Captain Deb isn't in the office a few member steal toys and goods. After hours a Sharon Vanderpool will bring a truck and steal toys, including bikes, for her own grandchildren and for other friends as well. Office worker Maxine Brown also participates in this as well. She will alter paperwork and she uses her position to steal toys, gift cards, and food for herself, friends, family, etc. Those involved that I'm aware of are Maxine Brown, Laurie Brown, Sharon Vanderpool, one of Sharon's daughters, and another office worker Linda O. I wish to remain anonymous, but feel that this is a disgrace on this organization. Captain Deb is NOT aware of these activities, it happens when she isn't there. The people involved are not poor and are taking away from those who are really in need.
unlicensed radio operation on gmrs
For past 2 weeks we have had someone who claims to be at or in Camp Tomahawk 64 Boy Scout Rd, Hedgesville, WV 25427. Who when told to
stay clear of GMRS part of radio is now jamming licensed operations.
Contact with camp manager was done but to date he has not stoped
the activity. Can you please address this issue. If not we have the right
to file a unlicensed radio complaint with FCC.
pick-up service
I scheduled a pick-up at my place today. The suggested pick-up time was between 8 and 11am. I called dispatch at 11 am to get more info on when the crew would come. They told me it was going now going to be between 12 noon and 2 pm. At 2pm, they still have not called me. I call dispatch again, who can still not give me an accurate time estimate. I already told him at 11 am that I was not going to be able to stay at home to wait for the pickup crew to arrive, as I had other errands to run. Again he tells me to wait. The dispatch officer was extremely rude and told me he could not give me better estimates and did not want to listen to me on the phone. The dispatch person was extremely unprofessional and unfriendly, just telling me that I was number 13 (which gives me no information whatsoever). If I am number 13 in line, I don't understand how I was originally scheduled to have a pickup between 8 am and 11 am as it is almost impossible to make 12 stops in LA traffic and pick up things in this time frame. The Salvation army should improve its computer system. If you want to rely on donations from individuals, you cannot have them sit at home all day waiting for this truck that may (or may not) arrive.
staff members at salvation army michigan
Salvation Army Store.
7640 Michigan Avenue, Detroit MI 48210
Thanks for the good deed you for the community, especially for the poor.
But it is overwhelmingly difficult to do business or buy things from this location.
The fact is that the staff over there look after their interest and those of their friends by picking out every good thing in the boxes before bringing it out for customers to buy from.
These are donations from people that want to help the community and the poor, but why is it that the staff do not allow the people to pick out what they want until they select all the good things for themselves and put it at the back room in the store.
Please someone should oversee what is going on in this store and take action. They are losing very loyal customers because of there actions. This happens all the time.
customer service
I call to the pennisula salvation army office number to seek help and the 2 times I call the lady that answer the phone was very rude unprofecional, not a people person at all I think that if this is a organication that helps the community and that the community helps back with donation they should have a better more friendly person anwering the phone lines for those that are to scare to ask for helo and finally have the courage to do it and for this lady to be as rude as she is, speaks alot... the number I call is [protected] she didnt let me talk at all I didnt get the help I need it. And people that call this service is because they are having a very bad moment in there life for this kind of thigs to happend If the persone on the phone dosent like her job she should be remove and replace with some one that is a people person and that loves helping the callers in a nice friendly way.
damaged my floor
I scheduled a donation pick up with The Salvation Army to get our old, working refrigerator from our old apartment. We were moving to a new place and had purchased a new fridge. The people that came to pick it up were clueless. I had to show them how to get it out the door. Then, while trying to get it out, they scratched and took a quarter sized chunk out of the vinyl floor by the front door. I brought it to the guys attention and one of them said, "sorry" then continued on. Now my landlord is charging me to replace the kitchen flooring that they damaged.
pick up service/ complaint process
I never received a phone call notifying me of the timeframe for pickup on the 19 July 2017. So, like I've done many times in the past, I sat the boxes and bags outside on my porch labeledfor SA. The dispatcher finally contacted me later that same afternoon refusing to pick up the items because I wasn't home. He said he a right to and I didn't argue. Not a big deal so I called the regional office and the warehouse to see if another dispatcher could get the job done and who wasn't opposed to picking up the items in my absence. I've never had an issue like this before. I was transferred several times between the complaint office, regional office and warehouse. In my 12yrs of donating and giving to Salvation Army, I've never received such awful support. The gentleman at the complaint office [protected] decided that it would be best to inconvenience me, the donor, by telling me I had to reschedule. He seemed annoyed and did not try to understand how this issue caused a huge inconvenience on my part. The female at the regional (Oahu)headquarters thought my complaint should go through the very same office of whom I had an issue with. I believe in this organization; however, who polices up the individuals at the regional offices. This is unacceptable especially in light of the recent events surrounding involving the Marco Polo Towers. People like me have given to organizations such as this one for years bc we believe in the cause. Believing is not enough when some regions treat donors so negatively. I want this situation to be resolved so that other other hardworking individuals eecwgcan continue being a part of the SA.
I want to file a complaint against the salvation army single women's lodge
On July 7th, I called Mrs Iris Wade the program director of single women's Lodge to see if I can come back. She told me I didn't qualify. Which I never have heard of that? I know people that came in and out of that program, and she will constantly let them come back. I believe she shows favoritism, and it is not fair. If you tell one person they can't come back I think you should tell all of them.
I would shop at the Niagara falls NY store and my employer would take me shopping there, well I couldn't figure out how she would get like, $500in stuff and when we got to the register the girl would charge only 40$, she was paying off the girl and is still doing it! She told me that she they owed her credit, I no longer work for her and to make matters worse she never paid me a penny since we were working on a bed and breakfast to open and when I found out she was a thief she let go and went and sold all my stuff out of me place including the stuff she stoled from the salvation army. This has to stop and this stuff is for people who are going through hard times, now homeless and she even took my winter coats she stoled! I don't know what to do to stop her and the girl that works there needs to have charges pressed against her! What should I do?
Oh and the reason that they said that I am not allowed back is because they had to kick me out, because I broke the rules which are pretty silly. We are all adults and had to be home by a certain time, and we were not allowed to drink on the property. Basically were treated like we are 15 years old. I did not think that I would get caught but I got into a physical and verbal fight with one of the others staying there and she informed me that I drink every night to a point of getting drunk, and yeah I had a drink the night that they kicked me out, Basically she was kicked out as well, but people stood up for her and said that I started the fight and she was defending herself and that I was using profanity and she was not, so I was discriminated against because I refused to be a push over and follow their silly rules.
