customer service
My Family and I visited Store #8 located at 28525 Jeffereson Rd, Temecula, CA on 25 Augu 18 at 11:00 am. Our Cashier was Adele. My complaint is that this store is not being recognized as much as it should be. From the moment my family and I walked in, Adele greeted us with a smile and welcomed us. She went above and beyond with cust svc. Every single customer is greeted by Adele with the same amount of respect and kindness. The store is incredible organized, neat, and cleaner than any department store. There is one furniture employee that greets with a smile. He helps every customer with their purchase and assists the customer with loading their purchase into their vehicle. The manager is just as friendly. In the background, family friendly music plays at a modest level to ensure not to offend anyone but keeps entertainment levels in the background. When I checked out with my purchases, Adele was kind to me and my family. She ensured every customer that was waiting behind was addressed with a polite apology "I apologize for the delay, we will be right with you". Although the customers were waiting less than 2 minutes between transactions. He continued politeness was appreciated because it is very rare to see in 2018; especially in thrift stores. I wanted to ensure Adele was recognized for her daily actions; they are not unnoticed. She is a breath of fresh air. It is Angels like Adele that make people's day and truly are the reason that Savation Army continues to march forward.
a homeless man denied food services.
I I'm a homeless man for over 10 years has been denied food services because I was trying to break up a fight between my girlfriend and some other person. I thought I was doing the right thing by breaking up the fight, it never happened inside of the building, but we were punished us both suspended for 6 long months on the streets with no where else to go. we denied all services including getting something to eat. I don't think that it fair that we are denied all services. I thought salvation army saying is Doing the most good, and the salvation saying is: Our mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and meet the human needs in his name without DISCRIMINATION ... Me and my girlfriend has been getting services from salvation army for a long tome now, and never caused no trouble. and we feel discriminated for defend ourselves .
shoes
It's not just shoes but this one was so ridiculous I need to say something. The store in Winona puts out ONE shoe of what they consider nice and then prices it HIGH! The pair I saw today was $60! There is no reason why anything in a store for people I need should be over $20. People donate this stuff and then u price so high that no one can afford to buy it! I'm guessing the women who work there get the shoes when they don't sell. I spend a lot of money there. My average is about $60 a week. But I'm about to quit shopping there because the prices are so insane. I'm also considering going to the press about this. This is all donated and should be sold at prices for people who DONT HAVE MUCH MONEY.
I donated a pickup truck heaping with good stuff about a month ago. Guess where it didn't go? That's right! Not to u. I took it to a store where my stuff would be affordably priced so it could go to those who need it.
Please get these crazy pricing ladies off their retail horses and make the prices more affordable. Your loosing a lot of shoppers.
salvation army greenfield ma
I recently (until today 8/20/18) was the social service case worker for the Greenfield, MA Salvation Army: I was there since June 11, 2016. I was a hard worker, respectable, and loved by ALL clients that walked in the door. I have a huge heart and was sometimes told too big. My Captain was extremely rude to me today, stating that she had no say and didn't care wether I was to leave my job and practically didn't want me to take the 2 weeks, was fine with me leaving right then. She had attitude, lied, and told me that my stats needed to be in NOW! Even though I had asked for 10-15 more minutes to finish them. Since I've worked there they have become less and less appreciative of me and I've become a harder worker day by day. They have now started gossiping and starting rumors. I have had phone calls and messages stating he/they have been talking about the situation and my business with clients minutes after I left. I want to report them for being majorly unprofessional. If they appreciated the hard work their employees did, they would not have employees leaving. And I did not quit. She agreed to let me go. But is now telling her husband a different story. She had an attitude, and was throwing in my face "all the things they have done for me"
I couldn't think of much besides the fact that I appreciate that they did let me bring my kid to work a couple times when I had child care issues. I ran that building 80% of the time when they weren't there. Any client can tell you this is all true: The past few months they haven't communicated they just leave me little notes that are slightly rude. I feel very taken advantage of and have a totally diff outlook on the Salvation Army because of the way I was treated today by Captain Karen Peabody (and Captain Scott Peabody gossiping, I have a witness that was talking with him while he did!)
pricing
Good morning, I love to shop at the salvation army store located in Cape Coral, Florida, their prices are not to bad, but I noticed they are getting pretty steep. I also have gone to the Punta Gorda store, which the prices are so outrageous. They get the items donated, they are a THRIFT store. There is so much inventory in there, as far as the household items, because there prices are ridiculous. If there is anyway of letting the manager know, maybe to reduce their prices, that would be wonderful.Remember it is suppose to be a thrift store, so people can afford the items. I hope you do try and fix the problem. The Cape Coral store also is getting to expensive along with the south Ft Myers store. Thank you for your time.

prescription help. brainerd, mn
I asked for help with a prescription, the woman who handles the prescription services received my prescription from cub foods. When I went back to speak with her she was very upset already. She starts screaming at me about what the prescription was for. I am a disabled, depressed woman already. She tells her whole office about my request grabs my paperwork and folder very aggressively, insists I call my doctor to have him switch my medication. There were people waiting that listened and saw her terrible conduct. Her co-workers each came into the office to get a look at me. I feel I was discriminated for my medications and she actually took my folder and made copies of paperwork that I received earlier, it had nothing to do with this visit. I am embarrassed and she made me cry. I would like nobody else to suffer at this workers discrimination.. It was at the Brainerd, Mn crow wing county office. People were waiting for the food shelf listening to this woman scold me.. My phone number is [protected]. My name is Cristy Becker. She also made sure to tell me about how low her budget was and what I was requesting was ridiculous. She waited until she calmed down to tell me there is a 200$ limit. She should have stated this prior to humiliating me. Thank you in advance please feel free to email me back at [protected]@gmail.com or call my cell..

so called "furniture donation pick-up".
Twice I have called Salavation Army to pickup furniture (antique sewing machine & cabinet, and queen bedroom set. First they make me wait 3 weeks for the pick up, they tell us they'll pick up between 8:00am & 4:00pm, so you waste another entire day. Then...when they finally arrived...they state that the item is "too heavy" or there's a small crack, barely visible & they don't want it. Oh...they won't take a bed apart, either. It's free, folks! I thought the idea was to help people in need? Well, this was my last attempt & I will never call on them again. Nor will I ever donate money, as I have many times in the past. I am so done with you!
I contacted the Salvation Army in July after I finished clearing out my mom's house. They finally arrived and would not take the furniture from my mom's house. They items were not brand new but gently used and they did not want to be bothered lifting them. I am happy that the Salvation Army is doing soo well that they do not need donations any more. I am more than happy to spend money and donate to other causes, because you do not need it. You should be ashamed of yourselves!
there is donation of clothing and several other items but they didn't come to pickup in the last minute twice
Hi,
We live in Elkridge, MD. We are moving out and we have scheduled a donation to Salvation Army. There is Donation of clothing and several other items. We kept the items in the driveway 2 times and they changed the schedule 2 times in the last minute.
The 2nd time one day before the person from Salvation Army called me and left a voice message to confirm they are coming and we put all items outside again. 2nd time also they changed the schedule in last minute.
The first time changed the schedule in last minute and we rescheduled it in week time. 2nd also they changed the schedule in the last minute again

customer service with attitude
Salvation army Escondido calif .I have had severe lung deasese for several years . I ride a bike to get excercise . I had just locked my bike up to your bike rack outside this older gentalmen ( randy ) is his name . starts walking through the store hollering whose bike is that locked up to his bike rack outside . I didn't hear him at first but he became louder and made sure everyone in the store heard him . I acknoliged him trieing to tell him I a disabled and can't move that fast he starts yelling at me to get my bike off his rack . He said it was in his way . I asked where he would like me to park it he said I don't care there are alot of trees and light poles around . (All off property) again I tried to explain to randy that I am disabled he could care less . As I unlocked my bike the person he was loading a couch for came and asked if I was alright because randy had shaken me up so bad . This gentalman also told me he was going to register a complaint on him for being so rude to him . If this is the type of people your going to have in your store . I guess I will not be patronising your Escondido store any more . Long time customer
have complaint about store
yes i live in an area called Lancaster california, Im reaching out to you in hopes of this getting resolved the store manager is this latina woman she has the prices of the store way to high for the area and intentionaly keeps them high stating that this money is for the missionary or that its the machine from corporate that makes this pricing.. then when people leave the stores she will have her family and friends come and buy the same items at a completely reduced price and has her boy friend buy all the metal items for scrap we have gone into the store with petitions being civilized asking her to bring the costs down and she says its nothing she can do before they used to get donations of new furniture in boxes that they would put together and price them high now all she does is put half of it together put it on the floor and has her friends and family buy them and all the pieces magically pop up than what the cant scrap they resell at there yard sale slash home store normally i wouldn't say anything but this has gotten way out of hand and there isn't another salvation army in the area to go to
And yes, I do agree about the pricing that is a bit high for your stores in Lancaster. I think they need someone who know how to price the clothes and the rest of the stuff there.
I'd like to address the issue and to complain about Serena P. I believe it could be Placenscio, or Placencia as her last name. She works at the Mojave, CA Salvation Army facility. I went to her for help when I called, I was a few minutes late due to my problem issues and I told her about it during the argument with her when I went back there 3 times, and she was very rude. The two girls that were there at the office didn't say much, then the last time I went there I called and told them I was on my way and will be there shortly they said to come in, I did, but when I went in I was late a minute or two, and they had told me before that if I am 5 minutes late they won't take me, so I wasn't 5 minutes late, and Serena stormed out of her office and told me she had to go, and she couldn't help me, but that was after one of the girls in the office told me to come when I called and I was only a couple of minutes away. So, she stormed out of her office having a very defensive attitude towards me, first she said she would help me then she said she had to go, then she continued on and told me to get out in a very demanding angry voice, when I was just trying to tell her what the girls were telling me that I could come in and that I had to come there 3 times now. So, I told her that I will file a complaint against her and that she was very rude and that she shouldn't even be working there, helping people if this is the type of attitude she has. I also have spoken with another woman that goes there to get food on a weekly basis, she's homeless, and right away she mentioned how rude this same person is, Serena P. She also said that she has been doing this to people, but no one knows how to report her and they just didn't file a complaint because they didn't know how. So, I am also complaining on their behalf for her rude behavior, and my behalf as well. Serena is very unprofessional, she also plays favors when I have been there a few times earlier this year, I saw this when she would come out to give the numbers for people to go in and get food. She would look at the people, then change numbers to the bottom or to the top. If you folks are claiming to be a church representing Jesus Christ, and this is how your employee is treating people, then this church isn't really about loving and caring but about control and bad behaviors, treating people uncaringly and being nasty to them. I still didn't get the help I came there for, my husband is on disability and the only income we have, I don't get paid to care for him. He's had an open heart surgery then a pace-maker not too long after that. So, it's a struggle financially, the reason I came for help. I would like to see this person removed from this position and this office, because if this is how she's been treating others as she treated me, then she's going to do the same wherever she goes. This is a very high strung woman, very angry and very push and aggressive. I would like to hear back from you folks, and further against will be taken against this employee or a volunteer of yours if she is still going to be employed by your facilities. This was the worse experience I have ever had with anyone, and this woman needs psychological help, and training on how to be more caring and professional in handling the public. I still need help with my bill, and If you'd like to contact me, my phone number is: [protected]. Thank you for your careful and fair consideration in this matter.
pick-up date/and taking me out of the system for pick-up
Last week Salvation Army of San Bernardino scheduled 2 pickup locations for me for 8/11/2018. I called them today (8/10/2018) to confirm pick up times. I was told by Renee that I was only in the system for one pickup and that was the pickup location of 981 w. Mill St., San Bernardino, CA. I told him I scheduled two pickups at two different locations. I explained to him that I had to take the train to the Inland Empire, and rent a car to be present for both pick-ups. I also told him that movers move me by weight, and if Salvation Army didn't follow through on their pickups I would be out of more money. Renee put me back in for both pick-ups tomorrow at both locations; confirming several times that both pickups were on the 11th. I received an e-mail from Salvation Army indicating pickup date: 8/13/2018. As soon as I read the email I called Renee back and was told he was unavailable. Antonio didn't initially want to identify himself. When I persisted on his name he gave it to me but refused to give me any information on my pickup dates.
If Salvation Army doesn't pick up at both locations tomorrow as they confirmed several times that they would I'm asking Salvation Army to teimburse me for all the financial debt I incurred to be here tomorrow for both pickups. My expenses thus far:
1). Train from Northrodge to San Bernardino.
2). Car rental to meet drivers at both pickup locations
3). Difference in cost of moving expenses. My
Costs to move will be higher if Salvation Army refuses to pickup at both locations as
Stipulated.
4). Any miscellaneous expenses incurred.
My train ride to get here for both pickups were from Northridge, California to San Bernardino (misspelled Northridge in initial complaint).
Another error, i’m asking Salvation Army to reimburse me the total out-of-pocket expenses I incurred to get to the inland empire for both pick-up locations.
If I go by the email pickup date, I won’t be in town on the 13th. Movers are moving me after Salvation Army does their pickups at both locations (supposed to be on the 11th). Movers are moving me on the 12th. If I stay till the 13th, I have to keep the car rental (adding to the expense). I also have to pay the storage unit $150.00 on the 13th for leaving furniture in there past the 12th. When Salvation Army told me last week that they would pick me up on the 11th at both locations, I relied upon that information.
poor service / communication
My mother recently passed and she had requested us not to have an estate sale but rather she wished for us to give her items to people in need. So we scheduled two different home pick up from Good Will and Salvation Army. After listing items to be picked up on both websites we waited for the schedule day from each. We had separated items to be picked up by both. First Good Will showed at the scheduled time. They loaded a bunch of of items large and small. They also asked if we wanted to them to take the items we had had for Salvation Army. Driver was courteous and professional never questioning any item we were donating. Two days later Salvation Army driver showed. Came in right away with a CANNOT attitude. Said he could only pick exactly what I listed listed on website, and could not pick up anything else. So they were going to leave behind a couple of boxes of almost new small appliances - bread maker, coffee maker. etc... A large box of tupperware and a good condition recliner. Also he was being very picky and looking for scratches on the furniture as if he was buying it. Needless to say we we declined to donate anything to them and will never use Salvation Army ever again. We will call Good Will again instead. I guess Salvation have become so big that they can be so picky on items being given to them.
customer service
As these Salvation Army store carry a lot of merchandise that is not at all sanitary, I asked at the checkout lane if there was any hand sanitizer available.
The young lady who was helping me was clearly mentally submissive when she asked her supervisor who told her "NO".
I could see a bottle on the shelf next to the rude supervisor & pointed it out to her in which she rudely replied "I bought this hand sanitizer and it's for employees only" .. except she yelled it at her employee rather that speaking to me directly.
Professionally she should have told me there was a restroom, I literally had to ask after all of that. She could have easily said "Sir, there's a public restroom through those doors right there. We reserve the hand sanitizer for our cashiers—feel free to use it".
African American woman if it helps identify her, I don't think I'll be back solely because of the way she treated her employee and myself afterwards.
kitchen staff and supervisor
I've noticed a lot of problematic experiences whenever I came to eat at the harbor light Salvation Army lodge kitchen . Some people have disibilitating conditions that aren't in the program. I of many have seen the supervisor show no compassion and use his authority against the homeless men that come here. We as homeless men face enough as it is being in our conditions. I really prey for a change in this area, we never know how much further things can go. If these conditions remain in place.
emergency assistance program
For literally three months I have called as well as emailed the Salvation Army in my region in hopes of securing rental assistance because I work seasonal and had hoped to work Summer School this year but didn't. This really put me in a severe crisis. So my first time ever I was told to contact Dakvation Army and that they could assist me. Believing this, I called frequently then frantically. No response. Then I tried E mailing. Contact Lori Wright. No response. I contacted the gentleman here, can't remember his last name it started with a T. I want to say Tilley or something like that. He is the director of service as it relates to assistance programs. After I emailed him, he responded that he couldn't help me and to connect with the SA in my area. I responded to hm that I did over n over again. He said the same thing. Ok no hrlonni constellation. I went bsvl to the website an dvfiund the name Korieanna as the administrative assistant under Ms Wright. I emailed her. She responded the next day. She stated that Cpt Wright has been gone for a year and her number m email had not been removed from the sight. She apologized of course. Yhevsgr dsyd they ran out of funds. I was devastated. This is so wrong. I didn't deserve getting the runaround for literally since June 25 until almost August. And zi stipl nedd tent help. Even though I go back to work on the 27, I won't get paid till the 18 of September. And my rent is still due the first of every month. Please assist me. I am a Senior. No one didn't even ask me if so I need food nor some cash assistance to buy sanitation or paper goods. Not even a gas voucher to pay for transportation because Even though I don't drive I could give it to my Transportation person. Please assist me I am at my wits end and can't believe how I was treated. I have always been a supporter and donated freely here.
david and katelyn I think her names kayla
I have to say I've been staying at the over flow shelter and we have our own personal bins and lockers. Well David thought that it would be funny to take my stuff out of my locker, clothes, personal things stolen and apparently in the garbage. That's what I hear. I took a video here.
My names shelbey lappin I have a 6 year old and husband that are staying with me.
It's the salvation army on 6th Ave. In Tacoma Washington.
director of salvation army
Ms. Pam is Never there! How are you the director if you're never there
She overworks her staff so she can go on lunch with her kids
She brings family to work and cover it by saying theryre volunteers
My daughter reported she saw her taking late payments putting the money in her brain
I've been refunded money from her bra area at the FRONT DESK!
There is a woman there named Mary, she is simply amazing and goes above and beyond for the salvation army but I'm unsure of whether or not she is the assistant to Ms. Pam but if so their roles need to be switched. Or a new director needs to be put in motion ASAP
furniture donation
I went on Salvation Army Website. Submitted the request to donate furniture items. Dresser drawer, and chest an two night stands. While on the website I read everything what they can an can not accept. I Even spoke to a live person to confirm my request was received on their end, an it was. However, when the truck arrived..The driver who looked over my items said they could not accept the dresser an chest because it was made out of (Press Wood) an the other reason was do to few scratches... U talking about a mad individual... Salvation Army Website list everything they can't accept but failed to mention of indicate furniture made out of Press Wood. Even when I spoke to an employee over the phone and we discussed the items he never ask if the items were made out of Press Wood, not that I would know what that look like, but I definitely would have ask that question . This is crazy...do they know how much trouble they couldn't save me an my family if I had known this, if that information was written on their website. So, the guys name was Paul. His response was "People / customers are always complaining that Salvation Army need to update their website... They list/ mention everything else but not that... I did call the cooperate office left a message.
Maybe, if customers stop donating or Salvation Army can't get funding for this organization... Just maybe they would take time to update their website so customers will know . So now I have to make other arrangements to get these heavy items moved. They would never get another car, living room furniture, clothes etc from me again.
employees
An employee by the name of shabnum Qureshi with long braided hair behaved in a very unprofessional and rude manner with my husband and I. She ignored my husband and I several times when we were standing by the register and asking for a bathroom key. I am in my third trimester of pregnancy and I have to go to the bathroom very often right now. She kept ignoring the fact that i was standing by the register when we were checking out and she made us remove all the clothes from the hangers, refusing to do it with us or herself. She made our shopping experience very negative.
