First of all, read the fine print when you sign the rental application - the way it is written, you will likely be paying them even if you decide not to go ahead with the lease... even if the application is not approved, you are on the hook to pay them 'damages' which in my case results in them holding 2 months deposit plus parking rental... That particular building is on the bed bug registry, however, that was not disclosed to me at the time when application was signed... The company does not bother to call me back after 3 messages I left for them. All in all, avoid them at all cost - rental prices are higher than other buildings in the area too
I am not able to go through LTB because according to them I was not considered a tenant since I did not enter into a tenancy agreement. Kinda a dead end according to LTB unless I go through Small Claims Court...
thank you so much! I've tried to obtain any information/contacts for higher management at the time and as you can imagine I was not able to do so... Talking to people in charge of leases was my only option at a time and talking to one of the people in charge there was a horrible experience all in all and she simply attached me over the phone... Anyhow, I will be forwarding my emails to these email addresses and will try to keep you posted of the outcome. Any other tips or recommendations?
Thanks again.
Timbercreek or shall i say TIMBERCROOKS are not the landlord of choice. Pls contact the Landlord Tenant Board for help in getting back your money. What they are doing is illegal, plain and simple. I fought Timbercrook and won thru LTB.! Dont let them lie, cheat & scheme you. Best of luck my friend
Oh sorry you are going through this my friend. You decided not to move in due to the fact the building had posts on the bed bug registry correct? in Toronto or Mississauga? Pls continue to contact head office & even go as far as emailing the CEO. When i lived in timbercreek & was getting no where i emailed all the top brass of the company on Thanksgiving day of 2011. That got their attention & altho i still had to go to the Board, it was very useful in some immediate results. Go to there website & look up contact info for the head honchos & send a mass email, detailing your plight. Keep me posted & best of luck :)
