This place is infested with roaches and mice, and the workers aren't professional. I wouldn't recommend storing your belongings here or buying anything from their auctions. The restrooms are disgusting with urine and feces everywhere. You'll even see dead mice on the ground that have been there for months. The place looks like it should have been condemned a long time ago.

They don't got nobody working there. You gotta do all your talking on the computer or phone. The code they gave me didn't work and I had a whole truck full of stuff I couldn't unload. They couldn't help me and they hung up on me 3 times by mistake. When I finally got through to someone, her phone was so bad I couldn't hear her. I ended up canceling, but they still charged me 20 bucks for service. You should go somewhere else if you want better service.

Don't give this "company" your money without reading reviews first. They just want to take all your money and don't care about you. They keep raising the rates all the time. This month I had to pay almost $300 which is too much. I'm going to sell everything I don't need so I can get rid of this company and save my money. If you need a storage unit, just sell what you can to avoid being taken advantage of.

This place is a total rip off! They keep raising the prices every six months and the manager, Radford, is so rude and unprofessional. He said that Compass only cares about new customers and doesn't care about losing long-term ones. When I asked for the corporate office address or phone number, he said it's against company policy and then laughed sarcastically. I'm going to write letters to the top of this company and make sure my complaints are heard!

This storage place is the worst! Be careful, we had a break-in in our unit in November and everything was stolen. Every time we asked for an update, they told us something different. The property has gates and cameras, but I don't know if they work. Nobody called us. The staff is rude and unhelpful, and everyone says they're the manager. When we tried to return the unit, they charged us for a few extra days. I'm so disappointed and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I wish I could give them zero stars!

Compass Self Storage ain't good, they don't care about their customers, only money. They'll make things worse for you. My mom's got a storage unit with them, but she's been sick and in the hospital for months, now in rehab. She's behind on payments, but Compass won't work with me and won't take a partial payment. The Madison Heights MI location is bad, the management team don't know much and don't care. They'd rather not help, sell my mom's stuff, and make her lose memories that can't be replaced. Don't use this service or you might lose more than just money.

Compass Self Storage quoted me a price for a unit, but when I received the confirmation email, the rate was higher than what was quoted. The representative said the rate was for a smaller unit, but we never discussed that size. This has happened to me before with Compass, and they didn't make any effort to make me happy. I won't be using them again and will share my experience with others. Rates can change, but to be told it won't happen and then have it happen is poor customer service. I wish I had read reviews before renting.

Don't use Compass Self Storage if you need a storage unit. The places are dirty and dusty, and your items will get wet if it rains. They don't care about your stuff. They also raise the prices without telling you. This happened to me twice, and it was really expensive. They don't care about their customers, only about making more money. They threaten to auction off your stuff if you don't pay the fees. The District Manager, Scott, won't call you back. This company doesn't deserve good customers like us. They just want to take our money. Don't use them or you'll regret it.

I moved to *** during the Pandemic from Denver and needed a place to store my things while dealing with my parents' estate. I chose Compass Self Storage at Lakefield for its convenience. However, I wasn't happy with the lack of clarity in the contract details, especially about non-proration of rents or fees. They have a small screen where you initial and sign, and only after that do you get a paper copy. I didn't have time to focus on the paperwork due to my commute and emotional state. I later moved closer to the airport but couldn't afford the increased fees and late fees, so I gave notice to vacate. Unfortunately, I missed the due date, so I had to pay a full month's rent to access my things, including items from my parents. I tried to work out a resolution with the Manager, but they refused to offer prorated rents under any circumstances. I just want a fair resolution to retrieve my things, but I don't have the resources to pay a full month's rent, truck, and movers. Maybe they should improve contract clarity and offer prorated rents.

I received an email that a late fee was charged to my account. That once the fee was paid in full I could call to have the late fee credited to my next months payment. However when I called the employee said that was not possible. I was informed & lied to that the fee would be credited for the next month.

Received a call from a Chase who did not identify himself upon calling me. I informed him I was on an ADA and he laughed at me when I informed him of this and to state where he is calling from and who is calling. Called corporate office with my concerns and a Scott called back, with no apology, rude and proceeding to speak with me in a condensending tone. HORRIBLE Company and leadership. I would definitely not recommend .

So now every couple months they are up charging me for the unit ! Just today i received another statement in which I can show I have it in hand now ! It is now up to $161.10 ! So it's went from 125 all the way up to 161 ! This isn't right at all and I have a whole unit completely full of my property not to mention the pictures I have of damages from rodents to my property ! It's hard to say how much more damages their are if I'd go through the whole unit! This isn't ok to keep up charging me or anyone else !

I've been contacting customer service and the store with no luck at all. Our unit keeps getting the red lock despite being on autopay and there's be absolutely no reason for a red padlock. Any time I attempt to ask someone about it I have to start all over with my story and they just act like they don't know. They don't even try. I've lodged two customer complaints that I'm told would result in the property manager calling me but no one has. I've been tried to reach out to the district manager and he hasn't contacted me back yet. Someone needs to contact me and explain why the red padlocks keep getting out on my unit despite your own office staff saying there's no reason for it.

I recently discovered this company placed a fraudulent transaction on my credit report and it needs to be removed immediately! I have never heard of this company or have done business with this company before. I spoke with *** today at the collections company listed on my credit report and she stated that someone using the name Thompson J made this transaction with Compass Self Storage in Cleveland OH. I have never been to Cleveland, OH in my life! The person who did this should be jailed for fraud and theft. It is a simple fix. The company should have a photo ID, address, and phone number of the crook who did this on file. I would love to provide my info so that this company can see that it was not me who did this. I need this matter cleared as soon as possible as this is impacting my credit score. I pay my bills and do not owe anyone!

They want to raise the rent every 6 mnths! We have been there for 7 yrs & expressed our concern several times. I dont believe it's right what they are doing to us esp during a pandemic. I haven't worked in 6 months. Its just common sense that nobody is going to be able to afford it if they keep on raising it! A month ago, somebody ran both garage doors & their storage unit door cause of this! I dont know if anyone reported it but I'm letting you know it's a problem. I also wanted to let you know we have damages to our belongings due to a mouse investigation from other units. We found feces all over our stuff! It was disgusting! I needed to wash my hands in the bathroom. They had no soap in the bathroom, no toilet paper to go to the bathroom! It was absolutely disgusting! Wasn't cleaned @ all. I went to the office to tell them I had to wash my hands & he told me he didn't have any soap. I basically had to go back to the garage to get paper towels and then go back to the office so I could use the hand sanitizer to wipe the black stuff off of my hands. I just don't believe it's right how he treated us after we've been customers for 7 years and I mentioned a mouse infestation he just said to me me, "how long have you been here"?, like I should have known about the mice infestation but I didn't realize there was a mouse infestation until we were taking our stuff out of the storage unit. It felt like he was trying to belittle me but he was being very cocky and ignorant about it. I believe this place should be shut down immediately especially during a pandemic!

4/16/22 My daughter and I went to my storage unit, opened the door and discovered that everything inside was strewn about, tossed over, smashed, appeared wet, covered with brown slime and there was black mold on many things. We went to the front office to report what I found. As we walked backed to the unit, the front office worker said they had a contractor do work on the roof. He left a hole and put a tarp on top, held down be bricks. A storm came up. The tarp became a pool, broke and water spilled into the facility. Most of the cases have long since been settled. I asked when it happen, she said 2019. l asked why I had not been informed. She went back to her desk, opened her computer and said I called twice in 2019. I asked why didn't I get a letter. She said we don't do that. I said I get letters when the rental changes, when my payment is late or short, why not for this. She said that's another office. I asked, why the other office didn't send me a notice. I said I want my money back. I've been paying for a climate controlled unit that is suppose to protect my books, valuable, keepsake and sensitive items. But instead I've been paying for a unit of molde, mildew and brown slime that is now a Bio-Hazard which I cannot and will not touch. It needs to be remediated by pros. at Compass expense not mine. She laughed at me. 5/18/22 Compass Returned my last check. I thought this ended the contract.6/23/22 Received notice of late payment with a late fee. (WHAT?) I want my money back from the time of the incident up to the returned check. $6,655.55 for services NOT RENDERED AS ADVERTISED/Agreed To. I'm 73 yrs. with eye and leg issues. I feel totally victimized, misused and abused. If my daughter had not taken me that day, I still would not know and I would still be paying for the mess they made. The site/unit is Bio-Hazardous for all who enter/work there Black Mold is a Carcenogen and causes pheumonia. .

THIS is after a flood destroys more then 1/2 of my things that they charged me $14 a month for insurance that only paid $1000 w/ a $100 deductable! Just 1 of the many things destroyed was paid for with that!
