This place is a bate and switch scam place
This place is a bate and switch scam place. Came in on two car and both were unavalible. So they sold us a lemon. We have't even received our contract after we took the car home!

Bought a rav 4 this weekend and I cant thank them enough
Sameer Was the best salesman we ever had to deal with, showed us couple of cars, we went test drive with the one we liked, then we made the deal, was nice organized and honest with us.
Charged excessive fees for four hours labor for a job requiring hardly half hour of labor.
I had a great experience working with this store, my sales person Zynijia helped me a lot. They offered me the best deal I could find in the market. They really work with you.

Lease my 2021 Toyota RAV4 Prime. I dealt with *** you is very professional and knowledgeable. Very happy with my deal. Ask for him if you need a car
LIARS and CHEATS. Told me to drive in across state lines with an appointment made to test drive the car only to tell me half an hour later that they "sold the car". They sold me the same line the first, second and third time that I attempted to do business with them. Scammy business. Statistically, it is not possible that you have a car sold that quickly on a "slow day". I would steer clear from them as they are not a reliable business partner. Full disclosure, I offered to pay a deposit before driving in and they did not want to do it, which shows you that they never had a car available in the first place.
Great dealership to do business with excellent customer service will totally recommend.
I just bought my second CHR from Toyota Universe and could not be happier
I just bought my second CHR from Toyota Universe and could not be happier. It was the easiest most smooth buying experience I could have asked for. I highly recommend this place and our salesman

my name is
my name is. Initially, I was displeased with Toyota Universe, but their help changed my mind. It's the best place to buy a car with great customer service. Five stars for you guys.
I went in to look at a used car I saw online 2 days earlier and it was being delivered when I arrived (my fault I never called to check)
I went in to look at a used car I saw online 2 days earlier and it was being delivered when I arrived (my fault I never called to check). They tried really hard to find me another car that would work and were very patient with me even though I chose not to purchase a car from them. *** was very nice and helpful.
These guys are top notch!
These guys are top notch! Check them out at Toyota Universe next time you're in the market for a new or pre-owned vehicle. ORLANDO *** & ALAN *** are the DREAM TEAM at this dealership. They treated us like we were family and in turn we walked away with a beautiful vehicle. Very organized and excellent COVID-19 protocols in place to keep every client safe.
Toyota Universe boasts the largest car selection during this period of scarce inventory.
I was visiting various dealerships in search of a new car during this time of low inventory. Toyota Universe stood out with the most cars available. The salesperson was excellent at his job; I recommend visiting him if you're looking for a car without the hassle of scammers. Their service department is expansive, offering numerous amenities. I had a great experience with my salesman and would definitely consider purchasing from him again in the future.
I was looking for a pre ownerd vehicle on the lot
I was looking for a pre ownerd vehicle on the lot. I was looking for a car with low mileage and had my type of interest in vehicles. I was placed in the perfect car. It looked brand new being a used car and my customer service rep handled me very well. He was very knowledgeable about the vehicles there, kind and knew just what I wanted based on my interests. I walked out happily and appreciate the great customer service.
If I could give a negative star I would
If I could give a negative star I would. I will never ever recommend my enemy to go there. Since 2007, my wife bought and serviced her highlander until we realized they were are cheating us on service recommendations. March 30th, My 62 years old aunt alone came here for a car. The rude crooked manager and their crooked staffs sold and finance a Toyota Corolla Cross total cost of 52K to my aunt. Toyota Corolla Cross MSRP is 28K. This place is board-line unethical and criminal. The manager kept saying she signed didnt she. They cheated her know she wasnt knowledgeable about car purchase.
False advertising!
False advertising! Received email of low $ offer specials probably due to Corona virus to help people out. Advertised Corolla lease $85 per month. $0 down, $0 security, 0% APR. Salesman very nice, but then sales mgr came. Scrolled down my email to the bottom fine print: $8K down! Mgr stated EVEN HE WOULDNT BE A CUSTOMER TO THAT OFFER! But that's the arrangement! Explained that Toyota would be taking that $8K up front so they wouldn't take a 3 year loss of "reality" lease payments, which calculates an example of around $285 per month! I hysterically started laughing! All workers stared at me in shocked seriousness. I walked out & thanked them for the best laugh I needed that day!
I wanted to get my dad a car as a gift for his retirement, so I was checking out 2012 camrys as they are very reliable cars
I wanted to get my dad a car as a gift for his retirement, so I was checking out 2012 camrys as they are very reliable cars. On April 20, I emailed Toyota Universe about a 2012 camry listed for $9,999 to see if it was still available. I then received a text from Kate B. She was very aggressive, even offering delivery on the same day. How can I purchase a used vehicle without even seeing it? I finally got a day off and set an appointment on April 24 at 3 pm to check the car. My dad and I went to the dealership and met Carol F. She immediately started filling paper works and asking personal information before even showing us the car. I had to make a clarification that I wanted to check the car first and I won't be buying yet because there are other cars I still plan of checking out. She said that a test drive is not possible at the time due to precautions for the corona virus pandemic. I was well aware of the situation, as I am a registered nurse working 8.5-10 hours, 6 days a week for the last 1 and a half months. I told her that I wanted to at least see the car. So she took us outside and made us walk around the whole parking lot. This was in the middle of a drizzle. While walking she was offering me to check out other cars but i told her i just wanted to see what i came for. After a good 10-15 minute walk around the lot, it turns out the car wasn't even there. How can the car not be ready when I have set up the appointment? Bait and switch? It was just disrespectful and a complete waste of time.
On March second i went to Toyota Universe in Totowa, NJ to finance a car, my best option was the Toyota Corolla SE 2017 that i liked with 19,500
On March second i went to Toyota Universe in Totowa, NJ to finance a car, my best option was the Toyota Corolla SE 2017 that i liked with 19,500 miles on it for the asking price of 17,999 $, so we agreed on 3,000$ down payment and 350$ a month sounded reasonable for me so after making sure few times that these are the prices i will pay and after the 7 hour waiting to make it happen i just wanted to sign the contract and leave so i did only to receive my statement a month after (after the Covid-19 outbreak happened and everything on lock down) that my balance is 19,999.43$ and a payment due on April 23rd for 430.89$ so i called them no body answers i submit a ticket no reply i left my phone number for a call back (they said after 24 hour) i never received it so i went to the location to see what's going on they were closed! So i called Toyota Financial Services and they answered finally and i explained my situation and they said you paid the down payment to the Toyota universe not Toyota Financial Services and told them about why this pricing it's not our deal the lady said i got the contract in front of me saying you agreed to 430$ monthly payment even tho the guy when i signed the contract said it's max gonna be 355... and said my only option is to surrender the car to Toyota Financial Services and go to Toyota universe and claim my down payment... this is obscured... with my down payment i should be paying 14,999 $ not 19,999 and 350 $ a month not 430.89... I'm returning the car as soon as the lock down is lifted and never dealing with those thieves again.

i came to you dealership today
i came to you dealership today .. it was the most organized operation .. not to mention that their advertised price is not the price you pay .. you have to be qualified to get that price .. unfair practice .. then i go to leave and you give me an additional $1000 off .. that should have been the 1st offer .. and maybe i wouldn't have walked out .. but for 5 hours i got the run around .. i had a advertised price for $15000 then when the deal was made it was $17000 then i was told i wasn't qualified for the advertised price because i was a college grad or a memeber of the military .. but i was never asked those question .. and the sales lady seem she didn't know what she was doing .. left multiple couldn't find the car i was interested in .. and this went on for hours wasting my time .. and i told them to tell me the price i was going to pay .. on the new car yes they did that but not the used one.

We recently purchased a certified preowned car from Toyota Universe
We recently purchased a certified preowned car from Toyota Universe. During the process of looking at cars with them, we were unable to test drive cars alone. In COVID 19 times, that means wearing masks and having the windows open while the sales person was in the car (and thus not using the fan/climate control). They sold us a car that when we turned on the fan later, there was a terrible smoke smell. When we brought the car back, the only option they gave us was to swap it for a car with ~25K MORE miles than the one we purchased. They actively inhibited us from checking out the original car without them around (thus always having to wear masks) before we purchased it -- and misrepresented the car. We thought they were just hands on sales people, but it turns out they were being dishonest. We now own a car with 25K more miles than the one we paid for (with no change in price) due to their unethical practices taking advantage of COVID restrictions.

I leased a car from this Dealership with certain modifications as an agreement. It is going on a month and I have yet to receive my items as stated on the contract with my 1st payment coming up. The manager Tom tells me they may be on backorder yet I have contacted 2 different Toyota dealerships stating they could get the (TRD Wheels) within 1-2 business days. I have messages between myself and both the sales rep and manager where I have not been given any information nor confirmation of any order placed. The contract stated the wheels with the car and Toyota has not delivered their end almost 5 weeks later.
Toyota Universe is engaging in bait and switch advertising practices
Toyota Universe is engaging in bait and switch advertising practices. They are advertising a car as having 13,000 miles online everywhere online, including on their website. The car actually has 18,000 miles on it. It states so on the carfax report and the car's odometer. I went into the care sales place looking to purchase this car due to the low milage. When test driving and looking at the carfax report, I saw the true mileage. When I confronted the sales person and manager about this they got very defensive and asked me if I had proof. When I showed them, then they said it was just human error and there were unaware of the true mileage. However, I also noticed the real mileage of about 18,000 was listed in bold on the car window, so they were aware of it. I asked if the price could be lowered because I came thinking the car only has 13,000 miles, and mileage greatly affects the car value. The said no, the price is the price. This is illegal bait and switch false advertising.

On October 17th I bought a Used Toyota Highlander, 2016 model, from this Dealership name Toyota Universe after we agreed on the pricing I was never told upfront that Purchasing the Car comes with only One Car Key, not including a Second car key in which I will not have agreed to signed paper works and also I was giving a Car without a Floor Mats with the purchase of the car with a sold default rotors metal pad which as rusted inside. I have made complain that am not happy and satisfy that purchasing the car I was not told that he Car comes with only One Car Key, not including a Second car key with Floor Mats inside the car.

I went to Toyota universe to buy my End of Lease Toyota Corolla 2018
I went to Toyota universe to buy my End of Lease Toyota Corolla 2018. the total payout for the Vehicle was 10,564.00 That price was inflated to 13992 with Multiples Fees, some of them for example AntiTheft Protection i was told by 2 employers that it had to be part of the sale, i discovered today after reading 20+ pages of small letters that they were not mandatory to complete the sale. Besides that, section 4 of the contract added 3495.90 additional fees. for a grand total of 16324.45! When i was working with financing the employee offer me to add an extended warranty since it will only add 10 to 15 dollars more to payments however that was not the case, i was charged 2700 for that warranty which adds about 37 dollars to my payments and that's without including the interest! Today in the morning I was asked via email about my buying experience and I asked about canceling the Extended Warranty but did not received a reply, i also made the same question via the web chatbot and was told my request was sent to the parts department without reply.

I bought a toyota 2014 *** 3 days ago
I bought a toyota 2014 *** 3 days ago. The car previously had an accident on both sides and on the side. I went to toyota universe because there is a recall. There was no sound in my car. As soon as I got my car from the service, I started to hear my car. I went to my job and immediately sent a message to the service worker within half an hour. When I got back in the evening, I saw that the mirror of the passenger side was broken. The man named Robert (balding man) spoke with me unkindly. I told him that my mirror was broken after service. but robert previously claimed that he was broken. "you can go, good day," he said roughly as we continue talking. I said I wanted to talk to the manager. After waiting for a while, the manager came. he examined the mirror and claimed that he had been broken before. I said that after I got my car from the service, I started to hear a sound. and I said earlier that my mirror is not broken. this time he gave me an example. If the car was in the supermarket, the supermarket would not be the fault, the manager told me. I do not know what to do. they extorted my right. I swear it wasn't broken before. please don't go to toyota universe service. recall incomplete or nondeployment of airbags and seat. they fix passanger side airbag.

On December 18, An agreement was made with the dealership to purchase a used vehicle
On December 18, An agreement was made with the dealership to purchase a used vehicle. The signed agreement included repairing a broken driver side front seat. I used my credit card to make a $1000 deposit on the vehicle at the time of signing. The dealership has repeatedly stated they have ordered the part and made multiple representations that they are fixing the seat but repeatedly claimed they couldn't find the part.On Dec 31, I drove to the dealership and met with the sales representative and service department mgr who promised to fix or replace the seat and it was agreed the work would be completed by Jan 15, 2022 On Jan 12, 2022, the dealership sales rep called and stated that they no longer wished to fulfil their obligations under the terms of the purchase agreement. I informed them at that time and in a subsequent email that I expected them to fulfil their contractual obligations. I offered the dealership alternatives to repairing the seat and delivering the purchased vehicle, including providing a similar vehicle for the same price and reducing the price of the vehicle to the price they relisted the purchased vehicle when they offered it for sale on Jan 8.On Jan 14, a dealership sales rep again contacted me to harass me into agreeing to allow them out to the purchase agreement and refused to discuss fulfilling their obligations.

Date: 2/8/22 I went to Toyota Universe for *** maintenance
Date: 2/8/22 I went to Toyota Universe for *** maintenance. I was told it would be just a tire rotation and the cost would be $24.95 plus tax, in which; it should had been total charges of $26.60. They charged me more with the excuse of: Customer pay shop supplies for repair order. There was NO repair! Picking up a tool to loosen bolts on my tires and rotate them, it is not a REPAIR because my vehicle is new. I called them on Sunday, 2/13/22, the 1st time and ask to speak to a manager. I was told, they would escalate it and have someone get back to me. No one called me back. I call again on Monday 2/14/22, 2nd time, asking to speaking to a manager and the customer service girl refused, talked over me, very, very unprofessional. She transferred me to account, I am guessing she presented the problem because I was on hold for more than 5 minutes. I hung up. I called again, 3rd time and was told the girl in account was on break and was transferred to sales manager, again waited for more than 5 minutes with an excuse of him being with a customer and if I wanted to wait for him, put on hold again. My complain is being wrongly charge INTENTIONALLY for work not done on my vehicle. My vehicle is new-no repair needed. Tires were and are fine! NOONE wants to take responsibility of their theft, charging me, customers EXTRA for something not done as: "Misc. Charge".

I purchased a pre-owned vehicle on September 17th
I purchased a pre-owned vehicle on September 17th. It was not disclosed at the time that Toyota Universe did not have title to vehicle. At 4 weeks I was issued a second temporary tag. When asked why registration was delayed was told that the state is just taking long and should be another week. for the next 3 weeks, I checked in weekly for updates and was told the same each time. Finally at the end of the third week i was informed that Toyota Universe was never had the title. It has now been 12 weeks since purchase and I have a vehicle not registered and not able to drive. the staff at Toyota universe have been very un-responsive and there has been no clarity or follow up on the steps taken to rectify the situation. Last week I informed a manager that I would like a refund. multiple follow up calls & have not been answered or returned. I also sent email to *** describing my situation and there has been no follow up.I contacted NJ DMV to see if possible to file for lost title. They advised that I file formal complaint with the *** on grounds that it is illegal to sell a car without the title.I also received mailings of multiple New *** EZ pass toll violations. (currently $560). the vehicle pictured on the summonses has the same temporary tag that I was issued in October. This is not my vehicle. No sure how this could have happened. To add insult to injury the transmission failed and needed extensive repair. I understand there is risk in buying a used vehicle but this is excessive. The treatment of a customer in this way is not acceptable. I understand that mistakes happen and this was likely not intentional. This does not outweigh the utter lack of regard for my issue displayed by this company. This is he last of many opportunities to avoid litigation and formal legal complaints with the state of .

On 24th July , I had Horrible Experience at Toyota Universe on RT46 location
On 24th July , I had Horrible Experience at Toyota Universe on RT46 location. I have decided NOT to visit this place ever again. I would like to share my experience with you all to avoid getting hacked and over charged for services that they claim doing it and not happening if you do not pay attention to detail in your final bill. I went for Oil change and rep convince me for tire rotation and once we discuss i said yes to service. after 1hr of service i got billed for both services and paid cash and left to get my car. As soon as I come to my car notice tire rotation as i was told DIDN'T happen at all. So, i went back inside and tell the rep. first he didn't believe me and try to convince me service was done. Then he took me to one of his senior person at time, who was rude and try to point out i was making up story so then he said let me ask our technician. When he went to technician he said someone told him not to do tire rotation...What the F! so he tells me service never happen ok so i got charged for nothing and if i had left place would have lost my money. Now his asking me what i want to do so told him now i want tire rotation to happen now. He takes another 1hr and then comes back to me showing pictures of my tires to tell me rotation can't happen. and showed me pictures of missing two bolts as well which was broken by technician and guy (Short guy who just wanted to make up stories to tell me stuff...) told me i had brought my car like that to them.(Bulls***). tell me two bolts are missing from one of the wheel when i told him when tech started working 1hr before why no one comes and tells me ? he said no body worked on it before so why charged me ? After all 2-3 hrs of wait and arguments he wants to only just give me attitude, some bulls*** stories and don't even want to apologies for their mistakes...I end up loosing big time after my service I had to replace all 5 bolts which cost me $302.55 at some other location.

I went to Toyota Universe after seeing a 2017 Toyota Camry online priced as "Universe Price" of $14,964
I went to Toyota Universe after seeing a 2017 Toyota Camry online priced as "Universe Price" of $14,964. The sales rep explained that they would honor the Universe price but that they couldn't go any lower. I informed him that it was a cash sale and with that he stepped away to get the final figures (taxes and fees). He came back with a piece of paper with the final amount due of over $20k. I was surprised that the fees were over $5k. I questioned the fees upon which he explained that it was a combination of "closing fee", Covid-19 fee, vehicle inspection, etc. I was skeptical but agreed to these "fees". While waiting for the Finance rep to finish the transaction I wanted to leave to grab some lunch for my kids. The sale rep informed me that if I wanted to leave the dealership I had to leave a $2500 deposit so I did and left for about 30 minutes. Upon return I had to continue waiting for over 2 hours and couldn't leave because of the deposit. I repeatedly asked the sales rep if I can just hand over a check and leave and he insisted that I needed to meet with the Finance rep. Approximately 1/2 hour before closing the Finance rep was finally available. At that point I was exhausted and wanted to get out of the dealership. It wasn't until the next day I realized that the "fees" the sales rep went over was nowhere on the sales invoice. Instead, the price of the vehicle was noted as $17,980. Additionally, what I ended up paying exceeded the final amount by $134 (invoice total: 20,279.57, total paid by me: 20,413.65) but there was no attempt made to fix this either. I feel I was tricked into buying the car for a higher price than what was advertised. The sales practice used by the dealership is deceptive in that they lure customers using "Universe price" and then not honoring it under the ruse of "fees". After several calls I finally spoke with a sales manager (Orlando). He said he'd see what he can do and promised to call me back by 1pm on 9/25 but never did.

I went to this dealer ship originally for an oil change service as I do often when the mi requires it
I went to this dealer ship originally for an oil change service as I do often when the mi requires it. Upon driving home from the dealership my engine light and track light came on in the dashboard. My ca had no previous problems until this date. I immediately called and returned to the dealer. They were about to close and told me it was probably just a spark plug and that they had changed it. The problem never was resolved . I have been returning to the dealer and they keep charging me and writing up work orders basically telling me that these codes are appearing and charging for repairs that my car doesnt need. Okay; last straw. I returned to the dealer because the engine and track lights kept returning and the car would shut off while I was driving it; after spending $2500.00 in total and Toyota not fixing the problem; I went to auto zone and then Pequanic Toyota and they Diagnosed the car for a Catalytic Converter and the total would be $1900.00. I called Toyota and they told me I would have to pay because they did not get this Diagnosis. They also had me sign up for sunbit(installment loan) this pays Toyota up front a d then the customer pays the installment co. When I would go in and protest the price because it was just 3 weeks shy; the service employees would sayyou have *** up to $4000.00. My car is being fixed at another Toyota and this has set me back financially. I am looking to regroup the monies owed back to be. They fixed nothing on my vehicle. If I cant get this resolved I will reach out to Kein on your side channel 12 news; along with filing an official complaint in passaic county. This is my 4th Toyota Corolla that I purchased here. My mother and I went to Toyota Universe to look for a car to finance
My mother and I went to Toyota Universe to look for a car to finance. We found a 2018 Silver Toyota Camry LE that had an internet price of around $18K. On the internet it said the car is pre-certified. We made an appointment via phone with a guy name Greg which said we could come in the next day. We then got introduced upon arrival and then he said Carolyn would be helping us with a car. At first Carolyn was helpful but that all changed once we sat down to discuss figures. Prior to coming in, I did ask Greg over the phone if they charged any certification fees and he told me no, just the regular normal fees that a dealer has to charge. I was glad to hear that because I have come across certain dealers that try to tack on the certification fees when it should be included in the price of the car and not after. Now I happened to ask Carolyn the same question to just to confirm what Greg had told me via phone and she said that it depends on the car. The story started to change once I told her what Greg had reassured me on the phone about no certification fees. She asked me who told me and then proceeded to say that if we buy the car base off the internet price then it wouldn't be certified. If we buy the car for the window sticker price then it would be certified. I have never heard of that before especially when the car is advertised online as a pre-certified used car! Carolyn then went to go get the sales manage Felipe to speak with us. My mother was the one that would finance the car and put $10K down payment. She has excellent credit in which she qualified for 0% interest rate and she has been with Toyota since 2003. Carolyn and Felipe added made up fees on top of the cost for the car. They told us that the military fee of $450 and closing cost fee of $1,190 was mandatory. Felipe told us he couldn't do anything about those fees but later on decided to remove with a catch! The catch was my mom would not be able to get the 0% interest and they would have to charge her

I was looking into purchasing a new vehicle when my son suggested we check Toyota Universe, since we purchased our last vehicle from them
I was looking into purchasing a new vehicle when my son suggested we check Toyota Universe, since we purchased our last vehicle from them. I picked out another Highlander, as we loved our prior one and welcomed the upgrade. When the dealer started going over the numbers, my son kept asking them 'why was the price so high for a used vehicle?' Plus, they kept on adding an extra fee of $1200 on top of the price of the vehicle. When we asked, 'what was this fee for?', they said it was a dealer prep fee. 'Dealer prep fee? For what we asked? To check the vechile out, change the oil, make sure the vehicle is running right, etc... Isn't that the responsibility of the dealership when selling a vehicle? Why are we, the customer, paying for something that you are 'supposed' to do? My son stated that the price of the car was a little higher than other dealers, for a used Highlander. He decided to go online and Google the price of a 2016 Toyota Highlander. Low and behold, he found the exact vehicle at this dealership, for thousands less than what they were trying to sell us. Had to argue with them to honor the price that they had advertised online. When they finally agreed to honor it, they came back again with the dealer prep fee, then a Grad fee - for being a recent grad student, and a Veteran fee - not being a veteran. Then they were trying to give us a vehicle with only one KEY FOB, saying that they are only responsible to provide one key and we would have pay for an additional. SERIOULY? Then come to find out that the key in the FOB didn't even work for the vehicle. Again we had to argue to with them to replace they and get us a secondary FOB with a cut key. Over the past year we've brought the Highlander in for service for numerous issues including condensation in the tail lights on the rear hatch, and piece of the bumper under the driver headlight keeps popping loose. Tail light issue - in October we took it in for condensation in BOTH tail lights. They said that it was cover under warranty, but that they would have to change then one at a time so that it would be covered by warranty. No problem. They replaced the first light, then said that they had to order the second one and call us when it comes in to be installed. They never called. We noticed that the condensation started building up in the second tail light again, so we took the vehicle back in June to schedule the install of the second tail light. First they said its not covered under warranty, then they sent us back to Sales, saying they should cover it, then they said that its been a year since we bought the vehicle, they had no records in the computer. 'Oh, we'll take you're information and call you back in TWO days once the offices open to retrieve the paperwork.' FOUR days passed and we had to call in and ask what's going on. 'Oh, your contact information was sent with the request for your paperwork, and we'll call you tomorrow to let you know what's going on. ONE WEEK passed, and we had to call back in again yo find out what was going on. Now they are saying that they will pay for it to get installed, but its on backorder, and can take a month to get in. And, they won't source it from another dealer. Bumper issue - since we bought the vehicle, we began to notice the section of the bumper directly under the driver headlamp kept popping out. We pushed it back in, but it would always pop back out after driving. We took it in a few times, the service manager even pushed it back in said that should hold it, but it did not fix the problem. Again, we were directed back to sales, whose ultimate response is that it has been a year, mind you, we've been reporting this issue for months now. They are now saying that we have to pay to have the bumper repaired

I was visiting various dealerships in search of a new car during this period of low inventory. Toyota Universe stood out with the most extensive selection of vehicles. The salesperson I worked with was outstanding in his role. I recommend visiting him if you're in need of a car and wish to avoid dealing with dishonest sellers. Their service department is expansive and offers numerous amenities. I had a positive experience with my salesman and would certainly consider purchasing from him again in the future.
