OVercharging but providing virtually no service
I asked TOD to find a contractor for an emergency boiler repair. TOD billed me £300 including parts and labour. Parts and labour were billed separately by the contractor - a further £600. My issue is not with the contractor - but with TOD. In effect I was charge £300 by TOD for placing a call to a contractor. When I queried this with TOD their...

I used this company and was very naive with the procedure, i had a broken toilet and rang them to explain its broke and blocked. n over weight gentleman called Darren came an was at first very pleasant at thought OK i should not judge a book buy its cover how wrong was i in this instants . He pushed the water through said he never had the part to fix the toilet and would contact me in the morning. I had originally paid £69 to the business owner who insisted it had to be paid there and then over the phone in desperation and being naive and trusted them i did. Once the water had been pushed though and was told though the gentleman Darren would be back following day with the part he unfortunately did not have on him he said all i want is my money £89 and sign here i did not feel comfortable paying half way though a job and signing but with someone speaking as if he had had enough even though he had been there only 20 minuets . i trusted him paid and said i look forward top you contacting me tomorrow. So in total i had paid £159 and still had a broken toilet what needed a valve replaced to stop the blockage.
The next day no news no contact i decided to contact the office where i was informed that the job had been done i explained i still do not have a toilet fit for purpose as it can not be used i have two children and we need a toilet the plumber Darren was tired last night did not have the part and was meant to finish it today as i payed up to an hour labour and Darren the plumber had cut the job short to finish the following morning. From office smooth talking until it was pay bu card now, to the plumber using the same tactic smooth talking until pay now and was a large gentleman who turned very quickly with his tone when it came to payment . So £159 for a relatively small job for a supposed professional i still do not have a toilet that works. There answer is use a bucket to flush it that may work this was sent to me by text. Considering i have 2 children i believe this to be very unfair and unprofessional. I have been ripped of by this company if i was being kind they are lazy if i was being more in depth with my thoughts the whole operation is a con to bully money out of people .
My apologies I ment I did not know my toilet was broke sure to a broke valve. I wish it wasn't genuine they are a horrible company that left me with a lot of problems and for my troubles took £159 to by told use a bucket to flush my toilet
Am very sorry I am not a plumber so I did not no the toilet was blocked until I was told it was the valve that was broke they took my money and I have emails telling me to use a bucket. I can assure you this is a genuine review. The service was horrendous contact them ask them I had never previously contacted them. They was awful and very demanding to me about money and left with my toilet still broke.

This sounds like a very unreliable account. Was the toilet broken, or blocked? If it was broken, why did you wait until it was also blocked to call a plumber? Why did you continue using it after it was broken until it became blocked?
Very suspicious. Looks more like a personal vendetta than a genuine cause for complaint to me.
