31/2 ton Weathertron XR15 Heat Pump System
Purchased this unit March 2016. August 2022, the compressor fails. Compressor is covered under the warranty, but not the shipping or handling charges, labor costs, or other material cost. Why should such a product have a failed after only six years. Especially for the amount of money one invests in such a high priced product. Unit model number is 4TWR5042G1000CA serial number 161017B72F
We have had Hesse Schnierjan HVAC perform a annual service check on this unit for preventative maintenance.
Desired outcome: To be reimbursed for the labor and material costs not covered by the warranty. The amount is $1600.00 for Freon and labor costs
Oxbox AC unit
We have purchased a new AC unit with 4ton 16seer on July 8th and its not cooling up. It’s not even 2 months. I called technician to check it up, he said everything is fine. Drain started leaking all over the garage. Humidity is so high inside the house even we had set up thermostat to 73. Previous AC unit with Rheem model we used to set up thermostat to 75 and it was much cooler & better than this model.
Unable to get compressor replaced
Since July 5, 2022, no one in Trane has been able to get a compressor to repair the unit. We live in south Florida and the heat is unbearable, the heat in the home has reached 100 degrees. I have been patient as long as possible, I have jumped, and rolled over with this company- I have been issued 4 different case numbers and when I call, they can never find it, so they issue a new case number- I had given them all of the information they requested and still nothing - I also explained that my goddaughter has serious medical conditions with details- She has ended up in the hospital with a stroke. This is unbearable and unacceptable. I would even consider this criminal. How can such a nationwide company not have a part or find a solution to fix a problem - We live in the USA how is it that we look like we are living in a third country with nothing available -
Desired outcome: have the ac fixed - they can put in a new compressor or a new exterior unit - or pull the compressor from an existing unit - need to get the ac working- I need to have ac now, my goddaughter is about to get out of the hospital
A quality Trane dealer (don't know where you would find one) would have taken a new outdoor unit from stock and replaced your unit with bad compressor.
Trane Air Handler TAM7B0C60H51SAA, serial number 12383M7G2V, and Trane Heat Pump 4TWR5061E1000BB, serial number 13033L7M1F.
I was talked into purchasing the above Trane unit in 2013. I wanted a Lennox or a Carrier system, but the salesperson insisted that the Trane was the best unit. Within a month of installation the system wasn’t working correctly. I have had numerous parts repaired or replaced, including two evaporator coil’s. Trane wanted me to pay over $1000 each time. The dealer, Snyder Air and Heating has been just as unhelpful as Trane. Trane indicated they would reduce the cost of the defective coils if I executed a release of all claims, which of course I refused to do. Snyder has been out to my home on over 25 occasions over the past two years. As soon as it gets over 90 degrees the system stops working. That happened again today, when the temperature got over 95. The temperature inside was supposedly 71 degrees but it was unbearable in the house. I decreased the thermostat to 70 degrees. Instead of going down the temperature in the house increased to 72. When I called Snyder today I was told that I should be happy that it was that cool! Attached pics of defective coils.
Desired outcome: I want a refund for the unit as it is my intention to purchase a new unit from a different company.
Tram 7- multiple malfunction parts issues
My unit is only 5 yrs old. It has had two capacitor replacements, one board replacement and a defective coil which had to be replaced. This is not acceptable. Although the parts were under warranty, each time I had to pay for the service due to the defective parts. I do not consider it my responsibility to pay for the service for a manufacturers defective part.
I have placed a previous complaint with more detail. I have not been contacted concerning this complaint.
Desired outcome: Would like to be reimbursed for service fee for defective coil part at least.
Trane 2 Ton Spilt Heat Pump 16 S.E.E.R.
On May 7, 2018, I bought a Trane Heating and Air Conditioning System. I bought top of the line because I wanted the best so I wouldn't have to worry about it. One month later on June 12, 2018, the system blew causing a power surge and, of course, the air conditioning went out. The repair company removed the evap coil and replaced it with a new one. Because it was under warranty, there was no charge.
Since then they have had to come out several times but I don't have the work order receipts.
On July 30, 2021, the repair service came out and cleared the backed up inline float in order to fix the air conditioning. That cost me $35.
On August 23, 2021, the air conditioning had to be fixed again. They adjusted the Float switch.
This week after returning home from my mother's funeral, once again the air conditioning was not working. This time they said they would have to replace the PRIM, METERING DEVICE AND THE PRIM MOTOR, EEV STEPPER. This time they said it would cost $657.31. How many repairs does it take before you consider this unit a "lemon" and replace it free of charge.
I think at the very least you should pick up the cost of the repair. After all, this unit is only 4 years old. By the way, the part had to be ordered and has not come in. I have been over a week without air-conditioning.
Air Handler (Model # TAM9A0A24V21DAA) Serial# 17174KJE1V
Heat Pump (Model # 4TWR6024H1000AA) Serial # 181450B64F)
Desired outcome: Either replace the entire unit free of charge because this is obviously a defective unit or pick up the repair cost of $657.31. Also, Where is the Part to fix the dog-gone thing?
TRANE Heat Pump
I purchased a TRANE XR14 3.5 Ton Heat Pump on 1/9/2017 at a cost of $7,060.
The evaporator coil first failed on July 23, 2018 at which time I was charged $629 for a dye test and refrigerant - the coil was replaced under warranty on 11/20/18 and I was charged an additional $229 at that time. Routine maintenance was performed twice a year and other parts were replaced under warranty.
The evaporator coil failed in January 2022.
When the coil fails it is due to rupture in the coil causing refrigerant to leak.
I have been quoted a price of $2,257.50 for repairs and replacement of refrigerant by the local company that has done all preventive maintenance on the unit.
I filed a complaint with TRANE for assistance with this cost due to the defective part that has now failed TWICE. My complaint was supposedly escalated, but nothing has been done and there has been no communication.
Desired outcome: I want the cost of refrigerant and labor to be covered by the manufacturer. I purchased what I thought to be a high-quality brand and have spent almost half again that much trying to maintain it!
A 5-6 year old trane tam 7 hvac.
Today (May 18, 2022) I received my yearly Spring check-up by Gundlach Heating and Air [protected] who has been faithfully and professionally caring for my units for over 25 years. In February 2022 the TAM 7 unit quit after 3 hard starts. I was diagnosed as losing 3 1/2 lbs of freon. It was also diagnosed as possible leak in the coils. Prior to that in 2021 the unit needed two capacitors replaced at two different times, and also a computer board.
Something has not been manufactured correctly with this unit for these things to happen in this 5-6 year old unit. The quality of this unit is unacceptable. Each time Trane covers the parts, but the professional labor fee is expensive. Why should I have to pay for the labor fee for defective Trane parts. This responsibility for labor should also be paid for by Trane. I am taking the brunt of Trane's poor quality equipment.
I would like for train to contact my professional HVAC company and pay for the labor when this is replaced.
Desired outcome: Trane to contact my HVAC vendor and cover the labor to replace the defective coils.
Trane xl824 thermostat
I purchased two Trane A/C units for our home in Aug 2019 along with Trane XL824 Thermostats. Since the purchase I have had nothing but problems with both thermostats, replacing one last August and now having to replace both, not to mention the numerous times I have had to reset the electric breakers because the thermostats “froze.” From my personal...

We had Plunkett Heating & Air Install the 5-ton unit 4 years ago. In beginning February 2022 we had to have Plunkett replace the cooling fan motor, fan blade and shroud for the third time. We had to run emergency heat for the Month of February and Mach before Plunkett could get part from Trane. Now since the end of March to now 5-16, 2022 we have no air conditioning. Plunkett is telling they need to replace the expansion valve. They have told me that they should have it in from Trane this Friday for the past to Months and still can not get the valve from Trane. It's a damage Expansion Valve! How do you not have an Expansion Valve. This unit is a Lemon I need you to replace it with a working unit. This has been a very poor customer service from you and your dealer.
Desired outcome: Replace this Unit with a dependable unit
Trane comfortlinkii xl1050
At the end of 2019, I had an Trane dealer installed 2 separate variable speed systems controlled by Trane ComfortLinkII XL1050 thermostats.
Since then, I had each of the thermostat failed. With each failure, the dealer is charging service call fee on top of diagnostic fee despite of manufacture warranty status. Speaking with the HVAC techs, they informed me they had to replace this specific model quite often due to multiple equipment issues.
The problems are the wiring for this thermostat is proprietary:
1. I cannot just replace this thermostat with a more reliable one.
2. Having no zone, replacing the thermostat took literally a minute.
3. Trane does not want to deal with consumer, despite of numerous phone calls.
4. To get warranty replacement of the thermostat, consumers are required to go through Trane dealer.
5. Trane dealer charges service call fee on top of "diagnostic cost" which is confirming a DC voltage reading of the 24v between R & B/C.
6. Seeing the track record of these thermostats, I am expecting one of these to fail in the near future
Desired outcome: 1. Either Trane start dealing with consumer directly for Warranty issue, or2. Trane to cover all thermostat related issue labor and parts for the life of the system
Spare parts price and service
Dear Trane company,
I am Hoang Anh, Project Engineer at AkzoNobel Vietnam, and I am responsible for the facility system (including Trane chiller) at our factory.
Our organization (AkzoNobel) have used and operated TRANE chiller for long time, and believe that we could keep on using the product and service from TRANE for long time in the future.
However, I have received a quotation form your side at Vietnam (Trane Vietnam) recently. It is about the EXV and Liquid Sensor for RTD200 chiller. The price (Vietnam Dong) is extremely high that we found that something may be wrong.
Could you please help me to check (prefer the attached quotation) for the price.
Moreover, it take really long time to get the feedback from Trane Vietnam when I asked them to clarify about the price. (almost 1 month I have no feedback!)
Our chiller just run only 01 circuit due to the problem with 01 EXV, it is really critical and dangerous for us. I believe that TRANE also absolutely understand the situation.
My organization and I always trust on the professional service and product from TRANE, please help me to clarify this case.
Thank you so much.
Best regards,
Hoang Anh
Desired outcome: An acceptable price and feed back time also
furnace
The installers (mm comfort) installed my. furnace (attic) incorrectly...I moved into this new house January 2014. when I took possession the furnace was NOT working...it has never worked properly..EVERY TIME it gets freezing out the pipes freeze...when the furnace has any condensation it trips the shutoff of the furnace...the pipes were put in at a slant allowing the water to drip back to the furnace thus shutting it down...I have had several companies work on it ($$$$). No one has been successful!
I want a resolution to this matter. I just spent another $450 to get it running.
PLEASE resolve this issue...it is ridiculous that I have come to EXPECT no heat during cold weather..I am on a fixed income and I cannot afford to keep doing this! it is not like I live in MINNESOTA! it is in Washington state!

Trane a/c unit
Trane deserves ZERO stars! Purchased a home in 2019 with a 3 year old Trane unit. It was a major buying point for us since we live in FL. Was told the unit was under warranty and on receipt I was given says "warranty transferable". Never told that the name on the warranty had to be changed or voided if not done within 90 days. So now unit is 5 years old and capacitor and fan motor not working and needs to be replaced. So called the authorized dealer to have the unit looked at and told it was out of warranty because it wasn't changed to my name. For a $6, 000 unit, this is EXTREMELY poor customer service! When you buy a car and it's under warranty it transfers to the new owner automatically. You have an issue you take it to a dealer and it's fixed. Are you warranting your equipment Trane, or the owner?!?! It's a cop out of honoring your responsibility to repair something that doesn't hold up to less than normal wear and tear . You should do the right thing and honor your 10 year warranty with an a/c unit having these kinds of issues after 5 years that was installed in a vacation home and used very little. Over priced, less than standard equipment and EXTREMELY poor customer service. Think twice before spending this kind of money on something that is not going to last any longer than the cheaper units and then no help when you have issues. Ticked I just put another $6k for American standard (owned by Trane) in my primary home. My last unit lasted 25 year with very little issues and it was a no name brand. Never again will I spend a dime with them!
Desired outcome: Honor my warranty
Cost of repair on a new unit after having it less than two years
We bought a new Trane heat pump in February of 2020. We have regular maintenance done to it, the last one being done on 8/14/21. On 9/26/21 we put in a service call because the fan on the condenser wasn't working and we had no air to cool the house (we live in Florida and this is a major issue). The repair man said the evaporator coil is leaking and had to be replaced. Between the two service calls needed for this issue and the labor cost to replace the coil, it totalled $1410.
So here we are, in Florida with no air conditioning, waiting for the part to be ordered and then installed. The inconvenience of this plus a unit costing over $8000 that lasted not even two years and needs a repair, is not what we expected from Trane. The original unit in this house lasted over 15 years with no issues and it was not a well known brand.
Needless to say, we would never buy a Trane product again.
Desired outcome: An apology from Trane for their defective product along with some kind of reimbursement.
Thermal expansion valve (txv)
Bought this unit a little more than 3 years ago. Purchased Train cause I mistakenly thought it was a quality product. Turns out, it's not. The TXV valve has been an ongoing problem for Train (lawsuits/recall). Unfortunately mine is not in recall but it's obviously still a product defect. Customer service agent was incompetent and worthless. I spent $10, 000 on this unit and 3 years later another $1200 for this peace of [censored]. I'm going to social media ([censored]ty product and service) and will be pushing for a new class action lawsuit!
Desired outcome: Train take responsibility for its defective product

On July 30, 2021 - we ordered a 5-ton Trane condenser + air handler. When the order was place by the service company we were told that the air handler is in stock but the condenser is on back order. Since this day we have been asking for an estimated delivery date for this back ordered condenser. The service company is trying and I have called Trane customer service but still have no indication of a delivery date.
Desired outcome: Estimated delivery date
Trane 2.5 ton unit
I bought new construction home approximately 3 years ago with two Trane units installed, a 2 Ton and a 2.5 Ton. By Carolina Comfort Air, NC. The 2.5 ton was having issues cooling and Carolina Comfort Air was called out. The technician discovered that the air handler coil was leaking from two factory braised spots. A new coil and valve was ordered, and installed. Upon installing the new parts it was found that the valve was restricting flow, so a new valve was ordered. Technicians came out again and now technicians say it's the new coil that was sent that is bad, so again I am stuck waiting on new parts. With the initial factory parts being bad and subsequent parts being bad my only problem is the fact that I am liable for paying installation cost of over $1500 for this fairly brand new unit with what I'm being told by techs as bad parts.
Desired outcome: Not to be liable for $1500 + in installation cost
Trane a/c model #tem8a0c36v31dba
I purchased a Trane air conditioner in October of 2019. I had the unit serviced for preventative maintenance in May 2021. This was supposed to be an free service call under the waranty. The service tech said the unit was low on coolant and added some resulting in a charge. In June/July I noticed the unit was running constantly and could not keep the house cooled to the thermostat set temperature. I scheduled another service call on July 20 and was told there was a large hole in the evaporator coil and it needs replaced. How in the world does an evaporator coil have a hole after only 20 months? My electric bill for the month of June was twice the normal amount due to a constantly running unit.
Desired outcome: Reimbursement of Labor costs
Air handler model#tem4aob30s31sba
On 8/23/2019, I paid $5, 280.00 to Heaven's Breeze A/C P.O. Box 272442, Tampa, FL [protected]. A Trane A/C was installed and a heater. In addition I have paid 2 times $75.00 and was told on their last service that a coil was damaged. The coil is still under warranty. Today 7/19/2021 they want to charge me $900.00 to fix this issue. I don't have cool air in my house for the last 3 days when the Ferron stopped working. Since they installed the air conditioner, and the part is under warranty then I should not be liable. Please help.
Desired outcome: Repair coil
