Are you serious.....
During my last eight months at this gym, I've purchased two personal training packages. With each package, the trainer gave me additional "free" sessions to entice me. The first two trainers ended up quitting the job and my case was handed over to a senior trainer Francis Xavier Matsom. Upon our first meeting, I requested him to find out exactly how many sessions I've had left including the "free" ones given by the previous trainer. He wasn't sure at the time and promised to text me to let me know and schedule a first appointment. He never texted or called for the next ten days. I went back to the gym again to ask him. "um I'm still not sure... I don't think you have any free ones left." When I further probed him why I had none, he wasn't sure. I knew for sure I had the free ones left. But the gym kept no record of it, the new trainer didn't even bother to ask the previous trainer as well. Nothing! They try so hard to sell you a package and once you buy, don't give a c***. It eventually got to a point where he couldn't answer my questions and he seemed very angry. "SO WHAT THE HELL DO YOU WANT ME TO DO?" The guy yelled out loud. Upset and totally shocked at his attitude, I replied "this is f###### ###". And that's when he lost his temper and went totally wild. He paced around the gym floor so angry, violently waving his finger right in front of my face and swearing all kinds. Eventually threatening that "I will never let you walk out here alive", "I'm going to kill you" then came the racism, saying how foreigners should be kicked out of the country. This went on for about three to four minutes. Looking back, I feel bad for saying f$$$ing ### but does that justify the tantrum and verbal abuse he threw at me? Absolutely not. This man cannot control his temper... after all the previous trainer always complained about him. Be careful guys and girls.

True fitness - service sucks horribly
It's barely a month since I joined and I am already regretting. It's the worst decision I have ever made in my entire life. They only care about sales, and the post purchase stage is horrible. Dun ever believe they will treat u the same after u have signed that damn contract. Their attitude towards customers change rapidly.
They mentioned my membership starts 2 months later, so currently I enter with the free pass. However the pass is only for 2 weeks so each time 2 weeks are up, we will get a free pass. After 2 passes given to us, the agent can't be bothered anymore! My female Indian consultant dun bother whether u have entrances to the gym during this interim period! my gym enthusiasm has died down drastically. Every time we ask when do we get the pass, there is no answer. No reply, no return of call, or made an appointment without turning up. what is this kind of service. She was so friendly and chatty and now she has become so hostile.
Never sign up with any gym. had bad encounter with consultant and manager of California fitness as well. (hard sell). After going through all these, it's not necessary to tolerate all these rubbish by paying almost 3K for keeping fit. Really don't have to. Or at least don't join true fitness and California fitness

To my realize upon reaching home that my absent minded had left my blue water bottle (tupperware brand) at the gym. Hence, i called numerous of time and finally the lady over the reception counter picked up the phone. I explain to her my situation and where was my last work out station at, asking her help to check for me. But, her excuses that we are close and if the cleaner found it will place in lost n found. I tried to seek her help again n again as i doubt the cleaners will be sincere enought to return it. And in the end, she dont even concern or being courteous regards to this emergency matter. She shut my phone off while am still speaking.
The next day, 5th november, i went to the gym again. Hopefully that my bottle could be found. But seeing her over the reception again, knowing my hopes has gone. She just simply see around the counter and thats it. So called lost n found? I thought there should be a record book for it?
Throughout my gym period from 5-7pm, i cant even find any cleaners around! They asked me to ask them but no one knows theirs whereabouts.
Ok i left for home without my loyal bottle now. It was a inexpensive bottle but meaningful because it was a gift from my mother.
Right now, i can be thankful to myself for not renewing my membership yet for next year.

Awful Service
Joining this gym has been one of the worst decisions of my life. I originally sign onto the Harbourfront location but got continually harassed to take lessons every time worked out. Then applied for a transfer to great world city location. I paid signed paper work on April 8, three months later no membership card. Everytime I ask when I am going to get it I keep getting told someone will get back to me or talk to the "operations manager" who "will contact me." No one has contacted me. Service staff have even been rude to me about it as if they do not even care or follow up. I got told by one of them that because I do not want to renew my one year membership I may not get a card after all. This gym is nice till you sign on then treats you horribly. There is no service. Staff are not even able to answer simple questions or queries and give you answers that have nothing to do to help your situation. The rules and regulations are very stringent and firm and there is no recourse for someone who has received bad service or has been promised something not delivered to do anything about it. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO SIGN ONTO THIS GYM.

True Fitness is a bloody scam and fraud. They hard sell maximum length contract to light-hearted people without any option to cancel it but death, pregnancy, or departure which is hidden in heavily loaded text of a contract. Which, by the way, has a lot of other shady hidden things. There were 3 people who pushed my wife simultaneously and concurrently for about 2 hours. And 4th guy read a few letter of rules for another 30 minutes. My wife was assured by one of the managers that she'll be able to cancel membership without a fee. Then she decided to opt out and they told that it's not possible.
I think this kind of gyms that are more of a mortgage are nonsense.
Got a call from True Fitness which they claimed that you are entitled for a complimentary 2 weeks pass for gym or yoga entirely with no fees/charges, and was asked to go down to collect my pass today. They promised over the phone no hard selling but eventually when I got there, this girl who is NOT in even a good shape who claims to be their sales/marketing consultant pushed really hard.
What's worse is that if they had promised a 2 week complimentary free gym/yoga pass for people to try out the facilities, if people like the environment and think that they wanna commit, people would have. Yet the "enhancement" of this 2 week complimentary free gym/yoga pass they promise you is that this sales consultant will be HOUNDING you for 2 weeks.
That means to say, you have to book your classes through her, book to use the gym through her, she'll see you before your regime starts, and see you again after the regime ends. So basically if you wanna really have some alone time in the gym for this time, ITS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.
This I think is simply disgusting. And its a bloody waste of time for anyone to believe this gym works for you. Because all they are after is MONEY. They are NOT sincere about wanting to keep you fit and in shape. All they want is your sale and after that, hopefully, you fall behind the tracks and they get away as well.
I STRONGLY advise any one NOT to waste your time if they offer you anything. This is the worse freebie ever. Note: Many companies give freebies nowadays because they want your business. There's nothing wrong with that. But sincere businesses will earn your trust and earn your business in good morals and ethics. They will value your time, attention and keep their promises well. And even if they don't make the sale now, they'll still make sure they honour their promise in hopes you'll come back to them some day.
But NOT true fitness. If you wanna learn about insincere hard selling marketing tactics, that is one very place. Besides, it's just HIT and RUN, they don't care post sales really if you read other reviews all over the internet, from people wanting to sell their membership in Gumtree to Straits Times CASE complaints to mothership.sg and etc.
If you wanna spend some money getting a gym package, then go to one that has sincere instructors or people (the kind of people you see in the gym makes the culture of the gym) who cares about you - a gym who really cares about you being fit/healthy in exchange for your money. Because if you paid for something, you deserve to get at least something good back. Businesses who care will do that.
P.S. I threw the complimentary pass straight into the bin after I left. Nobody needs insincere crap like this in their life anyway. They can still jolly well find it if the trash is not cleared.
P.P.S. True Fitness instructors/trainers (a good handful of them) actually smoke. Talk about discipline, health and fitness huh?

Cheating and Con men
I joined in as a membr, when signing me up their representative assured me that I will not b locked into a contract because I repeatedly said I might be relocated because of work and cannot be in a contract based membership, he said there will be no problems as long as I show them a letter or proper documentation stating why I have to terminate my contract & we can do a monthly auto -debit thing. He said this during our "consultation process" whilst we were seated at their lounge area.We adjourned to the counter area where he said he will arrange for the paper work and in the meantime took our (my then bf's) credit card details, charged it, following that he gave us the agreement papers and told us to sign at the bottom, I said can I take this home to read, he said then what we have discussed (the price, dont know why there isnt standard pricing) will change and I wont get that promo or whatever, then I asked is there a catch ? he said no, its standard terms and told us not to worry. I regret actually trusting him, and then signed it.I quit I think 2 or 3 months after that because I was going to migrate and had already gotten my Visa. I did what the representative told me I should do if I wanted to terminate my contract .HOwever, months later before my wedding I get a letter via email asking me to pay the outstanding amount, I called and called them and as how they usually are no one returned my call, the letter also says I am still a member. Basically my visa documentation and my letter to the manager did not successfully terminate my contract, no one told me that it was unsuccessful or anything or gave me a reason why I was misrepresented to and why I was locked in a contract .and now they have compounded interest accumulated on my original amount. I am so angry that they have been tricking people and still continue doing it without being taken to task. & they are sending me reminders to pay up.Pay up what? I already left the gym bcause I migrated, you told me i am not in a contract, I paid for what I used, I gave you the letter and spoke to you and you said ok you will get back to me.NO one did, 1yr later then you say now im in a contract? WTF!?

Cancellation of Membership
I have signed up for a gym membership with True Fitness, Pavillion in October 2009 with one year subscription, whilst understanding that by October 2010, my membership will end. Whilst approaching the end of subscription, I have decidedly not to continue with the membership. I paid the last month subcription and return the membership card over the counter. The counter receptionist (a young Indian male) accepted it, while enquiring for the reason I am quiting. By stating time constraint, he then nodded his head and accepted my card. Nevertheless, over the course of 1 year (to-date), I have been receiving sms notification to pay for the monthly gym subscriptions. I have called the company and enquired on this matter. I have also explained that I have returned my membership card and supposedly to have no ties with this company. They still insisted that I proceed to True Fitness, Pavillion to settle my overdues (approx. RM800) and to sign a termination of membership. I refused as to hear that I still need to settle the overdues but I don't mind to sign a termination form. As of now, True Fitness Pavillion has been relocated to Kenanga Investment Building and just two days ago, I was contacted by a collection company for True Haven that I would face legal action should I not settle the overdues. Please advise on my next action as I am frustrated with the situation and this has been affecting my mental state of mind.
DOUBLE CHARGE TO MY CREDIT CARD
I PURCHASED A 12 MONTHS INSTALMENT PLAN FROM TRUE FITNESS BUT ENDS UPS CHARGED A FULL LUM SUMP OF RM 2436.95. I CONFRONTED TRUE FITNESS TO CHANGE IT BACK TO INSTALLMENT PLAN BUT ACCORDING TO THEM, THEY NEED TO CHARGE TO MY CREDIT CARD AGAIN FOR THE INSTALLMENT PLAN AND AGREED TO REVERSE THE 1ST PAYMENT IN 1-2 MONTHS TIME. I'VE BEEN WAITED FOR 2 MONTHS BUT STILL NO ACTION TAKEN. I CALLED UP THE BANK FOR ADVISE AND I FOUND OUT THAT TRUE FITNESS DIDN'T PLAN TO REVERSE FOR ME. I'M TOTALLY UPSET AND FELT BEING CHEATED.KINDLY ADVISE IF I COULD TAKE ANY LEGAL ACTION AGAINST THEM. THANK YOU

What a joke after reading this phrase... if they want people to get healthy and balanced life... please stay away from people.. that's healthy!
Being pushy! Not tolerate! Not understanding! is their principles. Why am i saying this? Because before joining the fitness club..everything is promised by the consultants but at the end after signing up the contract then the contract is just a paper.. and the flowery words has been forgotten... When people want to quit from true fitness.. then the branch person in charged not allow by saying that can't and giving a lot of excuses. I was pissed off that day but stay calm and before they deduct my credit card i already cancel my credit card and they can't charge me. But they keep on chasing the payment. Wow! sounds like I am owing them a living.. the 2 months have past and I have avoided their calls and emails because i know they are not understanding since i spoken to them before on the phone. I know i have signed contract, but other fitness centre do sign contract too.. but hassle free if they decided to cancel their fitness. But True Fitness is abit weird just like the "ah long" = sharkloans. Just that my case I didn't loan any money from True fitness but just signing up the 24months contact. So this so called sharkloan got license and they call for lawyer to sue the people if the people is reluctant to pay for the following month.
I have talked to the person in charged, the person in charged reluctant to help and insist me to make full payment. I was pissed off that time and just nodded then walked out from True Fitness. From that day (Nov 2009), I never stepped inside USJ 10, True Fitness. Then nightmares(sharkloans) come! Call me..call me... email...email me.. non stop.. Once i have picked up the call.. I said I am not joining anymore... the sharkloan(caller) said if you are not joining you still have to pay.. because no excuse that after you sign the contract and not paying us. Then i say i wont pay then keep down the phone. The calls keep haunt me for 2-3 mths. Then Law Letter posted to my house. After i read it, I directly threw inside the rubbish bin, I know i can't ignore this letter, but i just want to talk to higher post person in charged and not those unauthorized person... cause wasting my time.
I felt guilty too.. because before joining the club the consultants will hand some forms to fill up..those forms are to filled up the contact person & number meaning that to introduce people to them. And i have filled up 3 forms, 1 form consists 30 contacts.. and i have gave them 90 contacts. And in return they pay me this. I really disappointed and want to tell all my friends in facebook about this True Fitness "Good sharkloan job".

Years back a consultant promoted to me 2+1 package (buy 2 yrs get 1 yr free) at Hartamas True Fitness, but due to my schedule not flexible, so I only join as member who renew monthly. He seems like a new staff and the outlet manager sit next to him, let me sign an agreement. On the agreement mentioned is 2 yrs membership, first I have doubt and asked why there is "24 months" contract? and the outlet manager told me that they are still new (mid 2007), and this is the only "standard contract" that they have, and the outlet manager said I can cancel the membership anytime.
I then paid 1 month deposit and 1 month as membership fee.
After a month I NEVER have time to go gym and not even first trial, so I call back to the consultant and told him that I am not continue my membership. Well, he told me that he resigned, and said just have to call to the bank and cancel the transaction will do.
5 years later, means today, I apply for housing loan to buy a property, but rejected by OCBC, the reason is True Fitness reported I'm in CTOS! Imagine I don't have any loan with bank for the past two years, full of confident that I can get the loan approval but now because of True Fitness, their unprofessional's way to mislead the consumer, so I am in CTOS now.
Whoaa, totally agree that the only way for them to get people to get healthy and balanced lifestyle is to stay away from people.
I'm also thinking not to renew my membership with TF. As they stated I have to deliver a written letter to them in 2 months notice before it ends. Sounds easy, huh? Yeah, right!
I won't rant much, but please, if there is anyone who have ever end his/her contract with TF (without early termination, but 'follow' their 'game'), share with me please.

the cost of staff's inefficiency have to bare by the consumer
When i sign up the fitness plan on April 2008, it's a 24 months contract. It's a auto debit payment. I been told by the agent (Mr. Hamdan) that i can terminate the fitness contract with any documents support, like company offer letter and so on. Therefore, i signed up. On the August 2008, i got a job offer in Hong Kong. I went to True Fitness to do my termination once i recieved my company offer letter. The staff (Miss Farah) photocopy my company offer letter and promise me that the termination will be start from Sept 2008 onwards.
After two months, i checked back my credit card statement, True Fitness still charging me for Sept and Oct. I contacted them, they gave me another excuse where company offer letter wasn't enough to prove that i work in Hong Kong. I gave them the photocopy of my working Visa and company ID. And again, they promise will terminate it from November 2008 onwards. After half a year, True Fitness still not terminate my contract, they are still charging my credit card even they had recieved all the documents.
I called the bank to stop the payment, bank said they can't do it unless have the authority from True fitness. I porposely came back to Malaysia to deal with the Branch Manager, (Mr. Steven). He gave another excuse where my working visa will end on Sept 2009, so, the period of my Visa is not long enough to prove that i will be in Hong Kong for 3 years. Actually, my company offer letter clearly stated my contract with my current company will be 3 years, and visa will renew every year.
Mr Steven admitted it was their fault for only informing about my working visa problem after half a year. Mr Steven offered me an option where i pay for my suspention fees (20% of the member fees) for July, August and Sept 2009. They will suspend my account until i recieve my new visa, then they will do the termination. All together they over charge me for 10 months (Sept 2008 until June 2009). I'm willing to pay for the suspention fees, i asked for a refund for the over charge 10 months. Mr Steven refuse to refund, he said he can only give back 10 months of the membership. I rejected his offer, because i won't be able to attend even he gave me the membership.

True Fitness Subang again? Similar case happened to me & my friend... it is due to theirs staff lack of knowledge & sense of responsibility towards their customers we end up paying for nothing!
Yes, we should have someone to teach them a real big lesson, go complaint them!
u can take true fitness to consumer tribunal court. & get your money back. that'll teach them a lesson.

My name is Gurdev Singh. I have recently joined your club in Jaya33. I need to record a complaint about your service. I feel your staff are very ignorant towards customers. I was promised many things but as soon as I joined I have not seen anything happening.
My membership card is still not with me. I am still using my receipt. My starter kit is still not with me as your club actually ran out of starter kits. It is such a joke. I told the membership consultant to organize a session with the trainer and he said he will call me back in 5 minutes. He did not.
When I went there he told me to go see this trainer and he will help you. When I when to meet the trainer he had no time at all for me. He was just rushing and sounded like pushing me away. He tells me go and tell the membership consultant to call me and I will arrange it for you.
WHAT THE HELL IS THIS? Is this customer service? I joined your club because I find it nice and your people were extremely nice to me when I first walked in but now you people are treating me like I am your trainer or membership consultant’s secretary that I have to go around asking them and passing messages.
I find this as a very bad start off with your club. I signed 24 months contract with you and is this how I am treated. I want a reply on this email ASAP or I will take things to the right channel.
True Fitness is absolutely unprofessional in their customer service. Their sales staff are extremely pushy and give off a very desperate vibe. I went there as a walk-in customer to see their gym (Jaya33) and inquire about the membership packages but they made it compulsory to fill in a form with our full personal details before they would even start to explain anything about the membership. They want your personal information like your IC, address, contact number BEFORE YOU EVEN ENTER THE GYM. I refused to give my particulars as the sales consultant could not give me a satisfactory response when I asked if this procedure is in compliance of the PDPA, however my friend filled in the form.
The sales consultant was very aloof throughout, not attentive and only paid attention to my friend who filled in the form. The gym facilities looked decent, but the way the sales consultant behaved gave me poor confidence in their after sales service. I do not mean to be discriminatory here, but the sales consultant was obese. For a person who works in a gym, wouldn't you think that they would be motivated enough to use the facilities there? My friend was entitled to do a free body check as he has filled in the form, and the analysis was nothing short of hilarious. The lady said "Your right arm is 7.7kg and left arm is 7.8kg, this means it is not balanced. After you join gym and train then you will be balanced". Very professional analysis, come I give you a clap!
Anyway, after the tour the sales consultant showed us their packages which start at RM200++ for 12-month membership, and RM700 joining fee (what!). Obviously the price is an issue. We said that we wanted to think about it and he looked so menacing as he pestered "What's stopping you from joining?". And he also said that he is offering us a special price for FIRST TIME customers, and that they would know because my friend filled in the form already so they can track and this offer will not be valid next time. He even tried to insult our intelligence by asking us "You know what is first time only?".
In the end, he went into the office and another guy came out (he was big sized and looked intimidating). That guy said that they have a special offer for us -- there are members who want to transfer their membership and they can offer us the price of RM177/month for 12-months membership and free 6 months membership. We said we would consider, but he kept insisting we confirm within half an hour. We left the True Fitness with a bad taste in our mouths. Oh btw, my friend kept getting calls from them everyday from that visit, asking if he had signed up. Sorry, we chose Celebrity Fitness instead.
STAY AWAY FROM TRUE FITNESS! The company is a big scam and will do anything to take money from you, including lying to you with no remorse
When my husband and I were getting our membership, we specifically asked for the diplomatic clause, knowing we might leave. The consultant then went on to offer us a package that I have now found out does not carry the diplomatic clause. Stupid me for believing what he told me and being one of those people who signed the agreement without reading all the fine print.
Also, on the same occasion, when signing the same contract, I asked about a refurbishment that I knew was scheduled: "are you closing the whole gym, or doing it in stages?", I asked. I got the answer I wanted of "closing in stages", only to come to the gym one day and find that the gym was shut for the next 3 months, no warning given.
Sorry for the long post, but I do hope this avoids any of you getting cheated and lied by the company like I was.
I want to make sure that it is very important to see whether or not his is something that is going to improve in many way.
I agree to the complaints all above. Honestly, I am one of the victim. I was being approached by one of the sales person. Since I was curious, so I decided to give her part of my time to let her explain. She start to explain that she can actually waive off the joining fees and the monthly fee is only $101 including of gst. But I was not keen in signing up as I am a student. I told her that let me considered about it. BUT she did not let me go, she asked her supervisor. Her supervisor came to say he will give me discount. I wanted to leave, but they are persistent. I just agreed to it. This is just beginning of the bad experience with them.
School started, I have no time for it, paying $100 dollars for nothing every month. I started to request for termination, one of the staff said there is no such thing as termination. Unless you have medical problem or handicapped. This is unreasonable.
I only visited five times since the gym membership started, but I have paid $300.
I wanted to cancel the giro and pay cash or nets instead. I called up the place and the staff say its possible. But the manager told me that Its not possible to cancel the giro. Bad customer service. The bank said that the merchant need to cancel, the bank have no way to cancel it.
True fitness are forcing one to continue their service. I guess there are the one that have no such thing as termination unless you complete their contract. This is not a clean business. Why would you force someone to visit a Gym that have such a bad service like this. They just want your money to sustain their business.
I would not recommend anyone to join this gym unless you are confident that you can visit often to make what you have paid worthwhile. Think again.
True Fitness Fails to Uphold True Values
Fitness centres have been mushrooming around the block of late. A number of franchises have made their mark in the Subang USJ district. Concerned with my own physique I had the unfortunate experience of signing up with TRUE FITNESS USJ, Subang Jaya. A lot of people out there do not know the problems faced by some fitness club members.
First of all, I would warn would be clients/ customers to be aware of the contract given to them. There are so many statements that may confuse you and you will not realize that it will cause lots of problems when you decide to leave the centre. They are also pretty smart and make you sign the contract without highlighting these important statements to you. I have been a True Fitness member for 4 years. Due to my work load and company official trips I was unable to commit myself to the fitness club. Therefore, I decided to cancel my membership at True Fitness. Apparently, there is a clause saying that you are not allowed to bridge the two years contract. However, you may produce a company letter stating the conditions of your work as proof. Even after doing so, they were unable to process the termination of my membership that was requested.
So, instead of going through all the hassle (as I have more important work to settle) I thought I would just settle it after I completed my contract period (in which I continued paying for 20 months although I was not using the facilities-a waste of money!). Apparently, when your contract ends or is nearing to an end, you (the customer and member of the Fitness club) will have to inform them whether you are continuing with the contract or not. Therefore, I called the office and informed them that I do not wish to continue with my membership at True Fitness and they said they have noted my intension and will make the necessary arrangements.
After 2 months, I realized that they had been still charging my credit card for the monthly fee. I went to see the HR department at the Subang USJ outlet itself but they told me that there wasn’t any record about my cancellation. So, I met the so-called manager and explained everything but she told me, “Sorry sir, there will be no refund!” very rudely. Firstly, I was very disappointed with their HR skills because it was very unprofessional for such a big company like them and secondly, I am definitely not happy with the way I was treated and spoken to by the manager of the centre. I am wondering how they do their recruitments at True Fitness. Is this how they are supposed to treat their customers? Or is this how they have been taught during their trainings?
I thought True Fitness was supposed to be “Friendly” and “True”. I don’t think there is any “Truth” in your “Friendliness”. Aren’t they supposed to:
• Highlight and explain the important prints in the contract before allowing a customer to sign it?
• Explain what are their termination policies/ system is?
• You are telling me there isn’t a record. What happened to your call recordings? That is why they record calls, for you to trace issues like this?
• What about refunds? You are cheating people’s money by just simply saying “SORRY, NO REFUND!”
• You have this policy where your customer service calls to ask if they would like to come for a 7 day trial pass and so on so why don’t you call your customers when their contracts are nearly ending and ask if they would like to continue or not? By right you should be taking care of your existing customers and sustain your members.
• What kind of HR department do you have when they are unable to solve problems? Are they even qualified?
• How do you recruit managers? Are they qualified? Do you see their values? Do you as a company have any values in the first place?
I noticed there are so many complaints on the internet and complain boards about the same issues since March 2010. So, it is obvious that True Fitness is ignoring the complaints and not taking any action to improve their service. This is happening because people are still signing up with them. True Fitness certainly looks good from the outside, but once you sign up with them you will see their “True” service!

I signed up with China sqaure and immediately the next morning after i signed, the trainers started calling me up to ask abt the PT sessions etc, when I had already specifically told my sales consultant and one trainer whom I met, that I wasn't keen.
they subsequently called several times again within the span of 1 week and i got really pissed. So i told my sales consultant that I have not even started going to the gym and this is the kind of service I get, and I then requested for a refund cos thier service has totally put me off. Best thing was, they said they can't, so which means now I have to suffer for the next 2 years. Can this br brought up to CASE or is there anything that can be done?
I agree too. I signed up at Vivocity branch just like a month ago. They sure are so nice when walk in for the first time. So I sign up not only for the membership but also with a personel trainer whose cost is $75 per session. Now I am badly regretting that. With 75$ per session I hoped for the trainer to be patient with me and the most important thing is to book the time in advance with me. But that did not happen.. this trainer whose named Oneil would reply my sms for appointment late at night like 11:00 pm asking to come at not my convenience time but his convenience time. It's not like he's the only one who's busy. I'm too. For the first day I deal with it. But when this continue I get pissed..! I've got my days plan ahead sometimes though I am only student I still got outings with friends, assignment discussions, extra classes and seminars.
Besides, on my first day of the training he made me worked so hard in a rush that I vomit after the session followed by extreme body pain and thereby sickness for five days. Later I knew he had rushed in working out that day because he've got somewhere to go after my session so instead of going easy and slow on the beginner's first day he rushed.
Gosh.. I can't believe I paid that much for that! I was con by their acting on first day. Seriously, people in true fitness shouldn't be in fitness business, they should be in acting industry. That way my advice's they can earn more.
Now I understand why they make me signed so many papers on the sign up day so that can't run away after finding out their bad service. What can I or We can do now though?! Just have to wait a whole year long to finish contract with them.
I too had a problem with them. I wanted to cancel my membership with them due to medical reasons but they did not allow me to stating that it can't be cancelled or refundable once joined. Earlier they requested that i get a letter from my doc which i did and they still did not allow me to. Before i signed up i was not told about this. I went and saw this so called consultant by the name of Alex and had argued with him regarding this but he insisted he did inform me and he was damn rude. I even signed up for a trainer, and you know what happened, the trainer has already resigned even before i started my session with them and i only got to know about this when another trainer by the name of Farah called me because apparently she will be my trainer. And this consultant by the name of Alex Huong is really a xxxxxxx! I want my money back. Anyone out there with the same problem as us can help?

I M VERY FRUSTRATED AND FED UP WIF TRUE FITNESS. WHY? COUNSULTANT CON ME TO SIGN AGREEMENT WIF TAKING 6 HOURS CONVINCE ME. OK FINE I FINALLY SIGN UP. THEN TOOK MY CC TO PHOTOSTAT. THEY SAID JUST FOR SENDING TO MEMBERSHIP. OK FINE I GAVE. HOWEVER, THEY EMBEZZLED MY CC DETAIL TO USE AT OTHER MEMBERS AGREEMENT. THIS IS TERRIBLE. I TOOK THIS CASE TO TRIBUNAL. REMEMBER. DONT SIGN UP WIF TRUE FITNESS, ALL PT, COUNSULTANT, MANAGEMENT KNOW HOW TO CON, TAKE MONEY FROM U. U WILL REGRET AFTER U SIGN UP WIF THEM. TRIBUNAL N GANGSTER WILL HELP TO TERMINATE UR MEMBERSHIP.
It is good to see that I am not alone, as I have also very very bad experiences with True Fitness. It seems like a club with the 'hotel california' principle: you can only get in, but never out! Although my membership has been legally canceled, they still charge money from my creditcard. I have called them now 5 times, without being called back ones, only promises and excuses. Very unprofessional fitness club...
Bad service!
The mgmt of ISJ branch is really screw up and they just cancel the Yoga class anytime they like, some of the member traveled 30-40km to attend the class to find out the class canceled due to instructor MC, this is not fair to members and the classes must be on as scheduled and instructor replacement must be there if he/she is on MC. I hope the mgmt can...
