TrueCar Review: Good Deals, But Annoying Pop-Ups
So, I was checkin' out TrueCar (truecar.com) and lemme tell ya, it was a bit of a hassle. All them pop ups kept gettin' in the way and it was super annoyin'. I ain't gonna lie, I was gettin' pretty frustrated. I mean, I just wanted to check out some cars and see what kinda deals they had goin' on, ya know? But all them pop ups just kept comin' and comin'.
Honestly, I don't think I'll be usin' this site again. It's just too much of a hassle. I mean, I get that they wanna advertise and all that, but there's gotta be a better way to do it. Maybe they could have some kinda pop up blocker or somethin'. I don't know, I'm not a tech genius or nothin'.
But, I will say this, the site did seem to have some pretty good deals on cars. I was checkin' out some of the prices and they seemed pretty reasonable. So, if you can get past all them pop ups, it might be worth checkin' out.
Overall, I'd say TrueCar (truecar.com) is a decent site if you're lookin' for a good deal on a car. Just be prepared to deal with all them pop ups.
False Advertising: My Disappointing Experience with TrueCar
TrueCar is a website that claims to help you find the best deals on cars. However, my experience with them was not a good one. I found a car that I was interested in and thought it was a great deal. I contacted TrueCar and they put me in touch with a dealership.
After days of back and forth with the dealership, I was told that the car had been sold. I was disappointed, but I understood that these things happen. However, a few weeks later, I received an email from TrueCar advertising the same car that I had tried to buy. I was confused and frustrated.
I contacted the dealership again and they told me that they didn't even have that car anymore. It had been sold three months earlier. I felt like I had been scammed. TrueCar had advertised a car that they didn't even have.
Overall, my experience with TrueCar was not a good one. I would not recommend using their services. If you're looking for a car, it's best to do your own research and go directly to the dealership. Don't waste your time with TrueCar.
TrueCar Review: Buyer Beware - Inaccurate Vin #'s, Short Test Drives, and Breakdowns
I gotta tell ya, TrueCar ain't the best place to buy a car. I mean, seriously, watch out for them Vin #'s, they ain't always right. And let me tell ya, the car I bought from them broke down right after I left the place. Ain't that just my luck? And don't even get me started on the test drive. They only give you 20 minutes, which ain't enough time to really get a feel for the car. And to top it all off, they hook up the battery at the last minute, so you can't even tell if it's gonna start up again. I mean, come on, TrueCar, what's the deal? And don't even think about trusting them BBB ratings, they're just straight up lying. I mean, I was being nice giving them one star. So, take my advice, folks, and steer clear of TrueCar. Don't buy the car.
TrueCar Review: A Must-Have Resource for Car Buyers
I'm a car enthusiast and I know a thing or two about cars. I've been using TrueCar for a while now to check out car prices. I really like how they give you information specific to your zip code. It's really helpful to know what the prices are like in your area. Plus, they even have a list of dealers nearby that have cars listed for fair prices.
I haven't had the chance to try out the Price Guarantee feature yet, but I have used the pricing information on the site to save a lot of money on my mom's most recent car purchase. It was so much easier than dealing with the drama of negotiating with a car salesman. I mean, who has time for that?
One thing I've noticed is that car dealers seem to trust the information on TrueCar. So, if you bring a printout of the average transaction prices for your area, the salesman will quickly bring his starting offer down. It's a great resource for anyone looking to buy a car.
Overall, I think TrueCar is a great tool for anyone looking to buy a car. It's easy to use and the information is really helpful. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to save some money on their next car purchase.
Frustrating Experience with TrueCar: A Review
TrueCar is a website that offers a service to help people purchase cars. I recently used this service and found it to be quite frustrating. My credit union offers financing for TrueCar purchases, but the process was not streamlined as promised. The ads on the website are not in real-time and are from actual sellers. However, the inquiry forwarding service to these sellers is one-way, which means that there is no way to tell if you are actually communicating with a seller or if the car you are interested in is still available.
I spent an entire day searching for a specific car that was hard to find in a hot market. I finally found the car I wanted and initiated a purchase, only to find out that the seller, Carvanna, was already processing the sale of the car for another buyer. This was a huge disappointment and a waste of my time. It was like bringing a toddler to speed dating, as your interpreter, across a double-blind.
Another issue I had with TrueCar was the loss of information fidelity. The car I was interested in was listed on the website as being in my city, but when I went to Carvanna's site, I found out that the car was actually located half the continent away. This was a less significant issue, but it still added to my frustration.
Overall, I found TrueCar to be as useless as a football bat, or a bag of horse phalluses with no handles. The service did not live up to its promises and left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. I would not recommend using TrueCar to anyone looking to purchase a car.
Mixed Experience with TrueCar: Pros and Cons of Buying a CPO Acura MDX from a Dealership
I decided to give TrueCar a chance, even though my research didn't reveal great comments or ratings. I was interested in getting a Certified, 2022 Acura MDX Advance Trim. I had both good and bad experiences with TrueCar.
The Pros:
- The salesperson, Jeovany, was good.
- Julissa Varela, customer relations, was also quite courteous and had good follow-up skills.
The Cons:
- The dealership had poor internal communication. I made an appointment on Monday for Wednesday evening, and follow-up emails from the dealership confirmed the appointment and stated that the vehicle would be ready and waiting to be viewed. However, this did not happen.
- When I arrived, the salesperson did not know who the POC (point of contact) was, even though I had provided this information beforehand. They stated that the POC was not at the dealership.
- The salesperson had to find the car and bring it to the viewing area.
- I could not really view the car because it was caked with snow and frozen ice, dirty, and had dried mud marks on all four tires.
- The car was supposed to be a CPO (Certified Pre-Owned) vehicle with Acura certification backed by factory certified technicians and a thorough inspection. However, when I opened the door, I found a missing vent. There was a complete gap there and it was blatantly visible. How did they miss that if they did an inspection before putting it up for sale?
- The tires had very little tread left and would need replacing. The salesperson said that those were the tires the vehicle was being sold with and "maybe" they could talk to their manager. Again, this is advertised as a CPO vehicle.
- Someone thought it would be okay to play loud heavy metal music in a place of business where serious transactions happen. This was definitely a great distractor and made it hard to speak at a normal tone.
In conclusion, the three people I dealt with were prompt and good, but they are quite low on the payscale and are unable to render any change. To me, this dealership is a sign of poor management and leadership. Selling quality vehicles (unless new) and maintaining good business practices is not a priority. I cannot recommend this dealer, and I made a big mistake not going with my gut instinct to avoid this dealer based on previous reviews.

Deceptive use of personal information by TruCar, and no option to cancel. I provided personal info for the sole purpose of access to prices paid by others for certain vehicles. Instead info was shared with dealers who have immediately started harassing me to buy their cars that I'm not interested in.

Hi, I received a price certificate from TrueCar for a Mazda6 from CardinaleWay Mazda Corona that had an "Estimated Total after Dealer Fees & Accessories" of ***. It's a long drive for me from San Diego but I was willing to do it to save some money. Turns out the dealer won't honor the price quoted by Truecar and wants to add another *** to the price. What's the point of quoting the price through Truecar then if the dealers don't have to honor it? Thanks

TrueCar came back with several matches at surrounding dealers
TrueCar came back with several matches at surrounding dealers. Then after committing to receive offers, found than none matched. I put in my criteria, TrueCar said there were se real matches. Then I got the results and found that there were no matches. I wanted a basic no frills model. Instead I am now inundated with messages and emails for loaded up vehicles with features I don't want and costing *** more than the base model I was seeking. It feels like a fraud designed and probably paid for by the dealers to get my info.

Bait and switch from 'guaranteed' price escalated unexpectedly from the quoted website
Bait and switch from 'guaranteed' price escalated unexpectedly from the quoted website. The 'guaranteed' price changed when I tried to purchase. I sought resolution with the company without success. The 'guaranteed' price was confirmed by the Sales Manager, but at purchase, the cost increased. I have text proof and had confirmed the price. The discrepancy wasn't a simple numerical error. They mentioned mileage, but the printout showed just over 19,000 miles accurately.

I wish to lodge a formal complaint against TrueCar and a Dodge Chrysler Jeep dealer in Florissant, MO.
I wish to lodge a formal complaint against TrueCar and a Dodge Chrysler Jeep dealership in Florissant, MO. I bought a car through TrueCar's website at an advertised price, but the dealership refused to honor it. I've been in touch with a TrueCar representative who promised to address the issue and liaise with the dealership. Despite sending her the sale contract and multiple follow-up emails, I've received no response. The issue of misleading advertising needs to be addressed.

Signed up for an account, unknowingly TrueCar gave my info to dealers and have been inundated with texts and emails ever since. As with other complaints against TrueCar, I signed up for an account to get further information about cars purchased in my area (ex. prices actually paid), but TrueCar misled me into thinking this was just an account with their website. Instead, they sent my information to god knows how many dealerships in my area, immediately I was receiving text messages, but worse were the emails. I've had at least 15-20 emails from dealers since I signed up a few days ago. This is not what I signed up for, and there appears to be no way to delete my account, which is why I'm turning to ComplaintsBoard.com.

I signed up to look at car prices and their financing options and they gave my info to other car dealerships in the area and I am getting nonstop call I was looking for a Toyota Highlander with 0% APR financing and I had heard good reviews about TrueCar.com. After I signed up, half an hour later I got a call from Toyota of Burien, offering me promotion deals that they have. I declined and said I am no longer interested. Since then, they have called me three more times and I have received 15 emails from different dealerships in the greater Seattle area. There is no way to unsubscribe from the website, so you will continue to get emails unless you unsubscribe directly from the dealerships email list. As far as I know, I am unable to stop the calls unless it is through TrueCar.

On Oct 26 2020 I received an offer from TrueCar on a 2020 Corvette at MAHER Chevrolet for 74K. The member offer was rejected by the dealership On Oct 26 2020 I used the Suncoast Credit Union car buying service through TrueCar and received a member offer via email from Maher Chevrolet for 74K. The email states that the offer came from Maher Chevrolet and also that the dealership sets the pricing. I was happy with the offer so I secured financing through Suncoast- resulting in a hard pull against my credit. When I arrived at the dealership, the finance manager claimed to not know anything about truecar or the offer that was sent even though I provided the email. They marked the price up *** and claimed it was due to a shortage of the vehicle supply due to COVID. If they were going to mark the price up ***, then the truecar price should have reflected that beforehand. I had to put extra miles on my current trade in and take time off work to get to the dealership only to find out that they were not willing to do the right thing and honor the offer they sent. What is the point of truecars "true price" if they have no way of enforcing dealerships to honor it?

Truecar failed to honor promised and promoted discount and is using false practices to solicit car buyers to use their search engine
Truecar failed to honor promised and promoted discount and is using false practices to solicit car buyers to use their search engine. On May 2nd Usaa in partnership with Truecar was used to purchase a vehicle for my son as a graduation gift. The avenue of Usaa with Truecar was used because of the promised discount. Truecar has not honored the advertised discount. After speaking with an individual today who stated his last name was *** in the partner resolution department, he confirmed to me that he could see the searches that were made through their system. Not once was a certificate generated or sent to my email for any of the searches. All searches through Usaa are saved in my account including the purchased vehicle. Truecar continues to give me the run around as well as excuses. I asked to speak to a Manager and was informed by *** that I would not be allowed to speak to anyone beyond him. I also asked for a recording of the call and was told I would have to subpoena it. I was promised a discount for using Truecar services that they have not honored. It is my belief that they are false advertising to get people to use their search engine to buy cars and their practices misleading. I was given the case number XXXXX and this issue will not be resolved to me until Truecar honors their promised and promoted discount.

While using the **** car buying service we were sent an email with offers forbvehicles that the dealership wouldn't acknowledge and blamed
While using the *** car buying service we were sent an email with offers forbvehicles that the dealership wouldn't acknowledge and blamed TrueCar.com While searching for a vehicle on *** car buying service on February 14 we were sent an email from three different dealerships. When arriving at the closest dealership (*** Hinderer Honda) and presenting the email of the offers to them, Greg first blamed ***. *** said it wasn't their fault and then *** said it must be TrueCar.coms fault. The dealership wouldn't entertain the offer on the table and since received an email from *** out of Austin, TX saying it must have been a bug in their system. The dealership provided me with that email. Personally, I have been receiving emails from *** (Partner Resolution Specialist) from Austin, TX saying " This is a data error that we are working with the dealer's inventory provider to resolve to prevent future issues. We will continue to monitor the dealership and thank your feedback." So the bottom line is we used a car buying service and when given an offer in print no one stood behind that offer for a vehicle, costing us several thousand extra dollars. We feel it was a gimic to get us through the door as most advertisements are for, but this was an EMAILED OFFER, but that price wasn't followed and noone wants to take blame.

My complaint involves TrueCar and their sponsored Military Appreciation Package and a certain insurance company
My complaint involves TrueCar and their sponsored Military Appreciation Package and a certain insurance company, which underwrites part of it. The package offers benefits including 'up to a certain value of Benefits for Repair and Auto Deductible Reimbursement'. My son and I, as co-signers, used TrueCar's service to buy a vehicle, completed on July 22nd. After insuring the vehicle, I activated the package on July 23rd. On September 20th, the vehicle was stolen and wrecked. I informed TrueCar's Military Customer Service and was directed to the insurance company on September 28th. They provided a claim form and instructions, which we submitted on October 22nd. During the claim process, the adjuster requested more information because the vehicle was in my son's name. I explained that I co-signed the loan and for cost reasons, my son had his own insurance policy. The insurance company is now refusing to honor the claim, citing this technicality, and TrueCar is not assisting. As a co-owner and an honorably discharged veteran, I expect the insurance company to respect and fulfill its commitment to the claim as promised by TrueCar's package.

Excellent. Your roofers did a great job replacing my roof back in January. Recently, your representative was helpful and quickly assessed a potential new problem. I would recommend TH Improvement wholeheartedly.
Texas Home Improvement did a great job on our siding and paint. From our Sales guy to the work crews to the finishing touches, they exceeded our expectations. We did have some communication issues at times but the production managers were really helpful in getting issues resolved. Most of my issues were just with the trim having square corners and surfaces meeting so they were flush. The crew corrected each thing and I'm very happy with the end result. Everyone I know has contractor horror stories, but I'm happy to say that I escaped the siding project with no horror stories to tell.
Texas Home Improvement did a great job replacing the siding on my forty year old home. The old place looks new.
The work on the siding and painting exceeded my expectations. The crew was fast, friendly and very detail oriented. I would highly recommend Texas Home Improvement.
